A Witch Called Red: A New Adult Urban Fantasy (Red Witch Chronicles 1)
Page 31
Red had thought that Los Angeles would just be another job when she drove in from Reno. Julia Crispin had called it Hell-A, and she wasn’t wrong. This city had twisted Red inside out and made her face more than just murder and mayhem.
They had saved the city, taken down a rogue master, and took more hits than she thought possible. The answers she found here brought up more questions. A part of her still wanted to be in her pajamas, but with another case in her hands, Red knew this was home. Not the city itself, but that feeling of doing good. That was where she belonged. That was home.
The door opened with a knock.
“Hiya, this is Quinn Investigations, right? All these buildings look the same.” A blue-skinned dwarf in a jogging suit and backpack stepped in with a tourist map in his hand. “There you are. Anyway, I came back because I forgot to tell you something.” The bearded dwarf stopped and looked at Red. “You’re her!”
Red tensed.
Lucas put his hand on her shoulder.
Vic swallowed his bite of burger, sauce on his lips as he glared at the newcomer.
“I can’t believe we stayed at the same hotel!” The dwarf grinned as he stepped closer, shaking his finger. “Remember, I sat next to you at the bar? I wasn’t in my gym clothes, so you might not recognize me.” More than blue, the short humanoid was oblivious to the tension in the room as he put his hands on his hips and chuckled. “Who would have thought, my first night in town, I’d rub elbows with you! Word on the street is you’re the hunter who took down that big-time vamp. You’re the witch they call Red!”
Red smiled and ducked her head. “That’s me.”
THE RED WITCH CHRONICLES CONTINUES IN LONG WITCH NIGHT.
Lights, Camera, Poltergeist. A Hollywood dream becomes a nightmare.
Called to a movie set, Red investigates a haunting that threatens to turn a Christmas flick into a slasher film. Allied with a soulmancer, she has to save the Hollywood A-Listers from a phantom that wants souls instead of autographs.
Busting ghosts is easier than laying her own personal demons to rest. With a paralyzed mentor, a sexy vampire playing hard to get, and petrifying anxiety about her own mysterious origins, Red is struggling to find the holiday spirit.
Everyone wants their fifteen minutes of fame in Los Angeles, Red has to find out who is willing to kill for it.
…Before the poltergeist takes her out first.
Long Witch Night is the second book of the Red Witch Chronicles.

I very much appreciate that you read my book and *fingers crossed* have enjoyed my writing. Let me know what you thought and give a review. This is my first published novel. After a brief soul-crushing stint in a university creative writing program, I stopped writing for years. Now, I am making up for the lost time.
Who am I? I am an urban fantasy writer who grew up in the desert, raised on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Anne Rice, and the Lost Boys. Add some Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time, and a bit of Christopher Pike's crazy 90s teen thrillers then stir vigorously to get my wacky brain.
