“I-I don’t know” I said, I waited for his response but seconds have passed and he’s still gazing at me. It’s too awkward that I want to leave the place and run away from him, who knows, he might suddenly jump unto me and gobble me up. Geez, just thinking about the scenario gives me chills.
And because the heaven is so kind, the waitress came to deliver Serafin’s order. “Enjoy” The waitress said as she stares at me. I looked at her but I stopped when I saw her weird gaze to me, wow, here’s another weird one.
“Lucy, don’t intimidate her” Serafin said, the waitress gave out a sweet smile “Enjoy Cassandra” She said and left. Ok first, what’s wrong with her? Second, do they know each other? And third, how the hell does she know my name?
Serafin chuckled “Yes we know each other and she knows your name because of your book” Serafin said as wrinkles forms in my forehead. “You can read my mind?” I asked.
“No, I can read your face” Serafin answered, that response is a little familiar.
I looked at my book only to see my name written in the bottom right side of my book. I sighed, is it just me or what? I really think that that waitress is a little weird. She stared at me like as if she’s digging deeper beyond my eyes.
Serafin chuckled as he hand me the mug of coffee that the waitress gave.
“Drink up, this is my favorite coffee in this café” Serafin said as he offer me the coffee “Thanks” I said and grabbed the coffee. I smelled the coffee, one thing that I love the most in coffees are its strong caffeine smell and this coffee gives an addicting smell.
“You’ll love it” Serafin said and drank his coffee, I smiled and drank the coffee he offered me and he’s right, the taste is addicting.
As I place the mug back to the table, I suddenly felt dizzy that I almost fell from the chair. Weird, why am I suddenly feeling dizzy right now?
“How naïve” Serafin said showing me a scary side of him, his grin is making me terrified.
“W-what did you do?” I asked him as I try to hold my head trying not to collapse “W-what did you put in my coffee?” I asked and tried to stand up to get away from him.
Serafin laughed, a terrifying one and then he also stood up and moved closer to me “How could a human be so naïve in front of the king?” Serafin said as he continues to walk towards me while I try to walk backwards trying to get away from him.
The wall of the café is made in glass but Serafin pressed a button in his watch that made the walls of the café covered from the public. “Now it’s only you and me Cassandra. Do you know what’s funny, Cass? It’s you being so naïve, how can a human trust the king who mercilessly eats humans?” Serafin said.
I walked backwards to stay away from him but I was already dragged in to the very side and that I don’t have anywhere to run to and he’s already a meter away from me.
“P-please, d-don’t eat me” I pleaded but instead of showing mercy to me, he showed me his scary grin again.
“So what do you think is the reason why I chose to approach you, to be my mate or to be my food?” He asked cornering me in the wall using his arms. I tried to calm down and breathe because I am too dizzy to stand properly and answer him.
He leaned forward decreasing the distance between me and him and the next thing he did was the thing that I don’t and never expected. He ripped off the right sleeve of my blouse exposing my right shoulder.
“S-serafin, what are you doing? P-please stop” I pleaded but he responded with an evil grin, he leaned forward giving no space between us and then he slowly kissed my neck going down to my right shoulder where he ripped my sleeve.
I tried to push him away to protect myself but he’s too strong and I’m so dizzy right now that’s why I can’t do anything to get him away from me.
He sucked my right shoulder like as if he’s giving me a certain mark in my shoulder. I tried to push him harder and pleaded but he didn’t listen and instead he continued doing what he’s doing.
“Please stop” I pleaded. Seconds have passed when he stopped and looked at me. He flashed a grin in his face as he caresses my hair.
“W-what did you just do” I asked him trying to compose myself and to not show him that I’m too scared.
“From now on, all of your moves and where you go will be monitored by the king and by other Rebels. You’re mine now Cassandra” He whispered giving me chills and making me terrified of the thought that what he did to me earlier is imprinting his symbol to my body.
He moved backwards to provide space between us “What did you to me?!” I asked angrily.
He shrugged as he hides his left hand in his pocket. He pointed at my right shoulder “Cover my symbol and continue being the Cassandra that you are. If anyone from the Hybrid Empire sees that symbol, you will be in danger because that mark is the symbol of the Rebel’s queen” Serafin said.
I almost collapse from my feet because of what he said, the rebel’s queen?
“What did you do to me?!” I asked angrily.
He moved closer to me “You’re the Rebel’s queen now Cassandra, you’re mine now” He said.

I’m facing the mirror as I stare at the mark that Serafin gave me, the mark of the Rebel’s Queen, the mark of the King’s mate. Of all creatures in this island, why did he choose me to be his mate when he obviously knew that I am a human and I am friends with one of the most powerful hybrid?
Of all people, why did he have to choose me? Why do I need to become his mate? I sighed and fixed my blouse. Before Serafin spared me, he gave me a new blouse to use since he ripped off my blouse. I don’t have a choice but to wear the blouse that he gave me since I can’t show them the mark of the Rebel’s Queen.
Granny is right. I should have listened to her. I should have ran away while I still can but now I think I can’t do it anymore since the whole empire of Rebels are watching me. My life in Luna Canidae is getting complicated.
I sighed and fixed myself, I just got back here in the University since my next class is about to begin in ten minutes. I don’t even have the strength to attend my next class.
I was about to leave the comfort room where I fixed myself when my phone suddenly rang, its Lara.
“Cass where are you?” Lara asked.
“I’m at the comfort room, why?” I asked. “What’s wrong? You don’t sound well?” She asked.
I sighed “Nah, I’m okay. Are you at the lecture room already?” I asked “Yes and I bought a chocolate shake for us” Lara said.
“Ok then, I’m coming” I said and hanged up the call and walked out of the comfort room, I am about to meet two girls who are about to enter the comfort room but they stopped and silently bowed down to me. I was startled because of what they did but what I saw in their eyes answered my question.
I saw a spark of red in their eyes which means that they are members of the Rebellion Empire. I nodded and rushed to go to the lecture room, it is too awkward in my part when someone bows to me especially when knowing the reason why they are bowing to me, because they think that I am their queen when in fact I don’t and never want to be their queen.
Chapter 5
The Queen Meets the Alpha
Those sparks of red in their eyes, I also saw it in Serafin’s eyes when he imprinted his symbol in my shoulder. I remembered my granny telling me how to know if a human wolf is from the Hybrids or from the Rebels.
When it’s red, they are rebels but if it’s green, they are hybrids. For more than a week of staying here, I only saw sparks of green and it’s my first time seeing sparks of red from someone’s eyes.
I didn’t notice that I’m already in front of the lecture room since I was thinking too deeply about what happened to me earlier, about me suddenly becoming the Rebel’s queen which I never wanted to be.
I sighed and entered the lecture room where I saw Lara waving at me. I walked towards her and sat down at the chair that she reserved for me.
“You look gloomy Cass, wh
at happened to you?” Lara asked, I shrugged “Nah, maybe I’m just tired” I responded and sipped on the chocolate shake that Lara bought for me.
“Wait” Lara suspiciously said and looked at my blouse “You changed your clothes? You’re wearing a different color” Lara said.
“Yeah, I accidentally spilled my drink earlier and so I changed my blouse” I lied. Lara nodded and didn’t ask further questions since the professor entered the lecture room already.

After the class, Lara left for her last class while I walked to the auditorium building to wait for Yvan. I sighed as I sat down on a stone chair outside the building.
I wanted to tell Yvan everything about my encounter with the king but even if I tell him that, nothing will change and I will just put Yvan in danger.
I looked at my watch and it’s already 5 pm but I can’t see Yvan everywhere. I stood up to enter the auditorium. He did not forbid me to enter the auditorium anyway.
I entered the auditorium but I see no one, where is Yvan then? My eyes narrowed as I see no one in the auditorium, was the meeting of the hybrids done already?
I saw a door at the right side of the stage in the auditorium. I went up the stage to get to the door, maybe they’re having their meeting inside.
I entered the room but what I see is a pitch black room “Hello? Is anybody here?” I asked as I reach for the switch of the light but I felt nothing but a plain wall.
“Just where is the switch here?” I asked myself as I reach for the switch. “Hello?” I called for anyone as I try to look for the switch of this room.
“Is anybody---uckk” I wasn’t able to finish what I’m about to say when suddenly someone grabbed my neck as he or she strangles me.
“Who are you” Asked the man who is strangling me in a manly and husky voice.
“G-get-get away f-from m-me” I said as I struggle to free myself from his hands. “Who the hell are you and what are you doing here?!” He asked angrily trying to tighten his hands in my neck. He’s killing me.
“Answer me or I’ll kill you” He said “I-I’m Yvan’s friend and I’m just looking for him, please spare me” I pleaded trying to remove his hand off my neck but he’s too strong that I can’t stop him from strangling me.
After hearing Yvan’s name from my mouth, he let go of my neck. “You are the Delta’s friend?” He asked.
I coughed and tried to catch my breath “Y-yes, h-he told me to wait outside the auditorium by five pm b-but I chose to enter instead” I said as I cough.
“You should have listened to him when he told you to wait for him” He said and leaned forward, he examined my eyes and then he sniffed my neck.
“A human” He said, I can’t see his face and his facial expression but I heard him chuckle” It looks like the Delta brought me a food” He said that made me shiver in fear. He sniffed my neck again like as if he’s addicted to my smell.
“W-what are you doing, stop” I said as I try to push him “This addicting smell, now I know the reason why the Delta befriended you” He said as he stopped sniffing me.
“You smell great” He whispered as he provides a distance between us, I immediately moved away from him. “I-I need to go—“ I said as I walk towards the door but I wasn’t able to finish what I’m saying because he suddenly moved fast and the next thing I knew, he’s already blocking the door.
“Of course you can’t just leave just like that, after getting yourself in trouble by entering the Alpha’s room and after letting the Alpha enjoy your scent, you can’t just leave me alone” He said and walked towards me, my eyes grew wide because of what he said and the realization that the hybrid that I’m facing right now is the Alpha, the most powerful wolf in Luna Canidae.
Because of fear, I walked backwards to stay away from him.
“I-I’m sorry Alpha, I didn’t mean to enter here” I said as I walk backwards.
Déjà vu, this happened to me earlier. The king also did this to me at the café, just what is wrong with me that I keep on dragging myself in danger especially to the hybrids.
“Do you know what happens to humans who enter the Alpha’s room without the Alpha’s permission?” He asked and cornered me to the wall “They die” He whispered.
I bit my lower lip “P-please spare me just this once Alpha, I-I will never do this again” I pleaded but instead, I heard him chuckle. “Sure you will” He said and pressed a button, after that, the room came in to light and I saw his face.
I am currently stuck at my feet right now as I gaze and enjoy his dazzling, handsome, heavenly face. In front of me is another creature that possesses supreme visuals just like the Delta, the Beta and the King.
Or no, should I say that this supreme human wolf in front of me is not comparable to the Delta, Beta or the king because he’s more than that. The Alpha is obviously not just powerful, he’s also damn gorgeous.
And as I was enjoying his perfectly made face, I heard him chuckle.
He looked at me and then he smirked and moved closer to me “Enjoying my face?” He asked me as he shows me a pervert’s grin. I immediately avoided his gaze and bowed down my head for me to not meet his eyes “I-I’m sorry” I said.
“Cassandra!!!?” Suddenly I heard Yvan’s voice from outside the room and his mere voice gave me a little hope that I might get out of this room alive. That Yvan, the Delta may save me from the paws of the Alpha.
I heard the Alpha chuckle as he lock his gaze to me “You are one funny human, so you think that he can save you? You think that the Delta can save you from the Alpha?!” The Alpha said painting his mocking expression in his face. He can read my mind? Or no, maybe he saw it in my face.
“I-I’m sorry, please spare me just this once Alpha. I will never infuriate you again” I pleaded.
As I plead, the door opened as Yvan enters the room “Alpha” Yvan said and bowed down to the Alpha.
“You came to save your human friend?” The Alpha asked Yvan. “I apologize for whatever she did, she is a newbie in Luna Canidae and she doesn’t know what she’s doing” Yvan explained and looked at me, In Yvan’s eyes, I see how concerned and angry he is to me.
“Only the Alpha and the Delta has the ability to smell someone’s blood and her scent is not a joke, its addicting, is that the reason why you befriended a human?” The Alpha said locking his gaze to me.
“Yes, I smelled it the first time Cassandra and I met” Yvan answered, I rolled my eyes mentally. This jerk, yes I know the reason why he befriended me and it’s because of my scent but why does it sound so offending to me?
“I see” The Alpha said and looked at Yvan “I’ll spare her and let her go but in return, let her come to the hybrid mansion every Saturdays. She will have to serve me” The Alpha said making my eyes grow wide. No freaking way!!
Yvan sighed “She will” Yvan said and looked at me seriously “Cassandra, tell the Alpha that you will visit the Alpha’s house every Saturday” Yvan said.
“W-what?” I said and bit my lower lip. I will be the Alpha’s servant?!
“You will have to say yes Cass” Yvan said trying to persuade me, I slowly nodded my head “Y-yes, I-I will come to the Alpha’s house to serve” I said.
Now I’m doomed, because of my being as a hard headed one. I became the Alpha’s instant slave, great, just darn freaking great!

“Thank you Yvan” I said as I face him after bringing me home from the Alpha’s paws.
“You shouldn’t have entered that room Cass” Yvan said and I can really feel and see how concerned he is to me.
I bit my lower lip “I’m so sorry Yvan, I dragged you in to this mess but thank you for saving me from the Alpha” I said.
Yvan sighed and messed up my hair using his hands “Don’t worry, the Alpha won’t hurt you. He will never hurt his people” Yvan said.
“You should go inside now, it’s already 7 pm” Yvan
said, I nodded “Thanks” I said and walked to get inside the house.
“Cassandra you’re late again!” Granny said rising her voice “Sorry granny, don’t worry the Delta brought me home” I said assuring her that I’m safe since the Delta was the one who got me home.
Granny sighed “It’s a very good thing that you are friends with a high ranked hybrid Cass. Knowing that the Delta will always be right beside you, I’m assured that you will be okay” Granny said. I stared at granny and sighed too.
Am I really okay if I am around the Hybrids? What if they are the ones who are giving me a tough time?
It’s not just the Delta who is around me, I’m also the Beta’s enemy, the Alpha’s slave and… and the king’s mate. I want to tell granny about everything but I’m afraid. I’m afraid of the consequences that might occur after telling them what’s happening to me.
And I don’t want to drag granny in to this kind of mess. “Granny, I think I will not eat dinner tonight” I said.
“Cassandra, you’re ok right?” Granny asked looking concerned, I smiled “I’m just tired granny” I said and went to my room.
I immediately dived in to my bed and closed my eyes. It’s a long day indeed. A lot of things just happened this day, the Beta became my enemy, the king made me his queen and the Alpha made me become his slave.
I sighed, just why are these things happening to me? What did I do for these unfortunate things to happen?
I instinctively opened my eyes when I suddenly felt someone held my cheeks. I moved only to see a man lying in my bed beside me. “Who---” I wasn’t able to finish what I’m about to say when he blocked my mouth using his index finger.
“Ssssshhh, don’t move” He said.
That voice, his voice is very familiar “My queen” He whispered as my eyes grow wide “S-serafin, what are you doing here??” I asked as I try to move away from him.
Just what in the hell is the king doing in my room?!
