I heard him chuckle “I miss my queen that’s why I’m visiting her” He said as he plays with my hair. “Don’t you miss your king?” He asked.
Serafin moved closer and so I instinctively moved away from him “Serafin please don’t do this to me” I pleaded.
“Do the what?” He asked innocently landing his index finger to my neck up to my face. “Please stop” I pleaded, just how many times should I plead to the hybrids this day and when the hell can I stop saying the phrase ‘please stop’ to them.
“Stop or I’ll scream” I warned but he responded with a silent laugh “Scream then, but after screaming, who do you think will come to rescue? Your granny, what do you think can she do?” He asked in a mocking voice.
I gulped then he chuckled and jumped out of my bed “Don’t worry Cass, I won’t hurt you, you’re my queen anyway” He said, winked at me and then he left my room using my veranda as a way of escape.
I was left alone listening to the sound of the crickets outside and feeling the cold breeze of the wind from outside because of the door of my veranda is opened. I should have listened to Granny, I should have run away and if I did, I wouldn’t have experienced these kinds of humiliations that I’m experiencing right now.
I want to run away but I can’t because it’s too late and I already meddled up with the hybrid’s lives.
I sighed and went back to my bed to rest. Yes I badly need to rest right now since a lot of things happened to me this day. I slowly closed my eyes to sleep. I wish that I could get a proper rest tonight.
“Cassandra? Cassandra wake up” I woke up when I heard granny calling my name as she shake me trying to wake me up, I slowly opened my eyes “Cassandra are you not going to attend your class? It’s already one pm” Granny said.
My eyes grew wide when I heard granny and then I immediately woke up when I heard the time. I can’t be late for my class!
I tried to sit but my body is in pain and my head is too heavy, I also feel dizzy that’s why I wasn’t able to sit down. Granny felt my temperature using her hands.
“Cassandra what happened to you, you’re having a high fever” Granny said as she fix my blanket to cover it to me. “Granny I think I’m not feeling well, I feel nauseous” I said.
“Because you’re having a high fever, what have you been doing for these past few days for you to have a high fever?!” Granny said as she scolds me.
“I’m just tired Granny” I defended “You’re always tired!!” She said angrily.
“Don’t attend your classes for today, you need to rest” Granny said, I nodded and then I suddenly thought of those hybrids who gave me a hard time in Luna Canidae. What if I don’t show myself today, will they come in to my house? What if granny learns about my encounter with them?
“G-granny” I called “Yes?” Granny asked.
“Granny can you not let anyone inside our house for now, can you close all our doors and windows just for today?” I asked, I saw how granny’s eyes narrowed.
“Why? Is there a problem Cassandra?” Granny asked.
I immediately smiled for her not to notice how scared I am right now “Of course none, uhm I just want to rest and if possible I don’t want anyone to disturb?” I lied. Granny smiled.
“Sure, I will not let anyone enter for now, take a rest and I’ll make a soup for you” Granny said and walked outside.
“Just how could you catch a cold” Granny murmured as she walks outside my room.
I hope, I just hope the king won’t break into my room later. I don’t want my granny to meet the king nor anyone from the Hybrid Empire. I don’t want to drag her into this.
I held my forehead and then I sighed. If it’s another person who experienced what I had experienced yesterday then it’s also natural for that person to catch a cold.
Who would have thought that in just a day, I will meet the rulers of this island and who would have thought that in just a day I became an instant mate and servant?
I tried to close my eyes to get more rest but I got conscious when I felt someone staring at me. I instinctively opened my eyes and what I saw made me force my body to rise and sit down.
“Are you trying to run away from me? I spared you last night to become my servant but you’re acting like you’re weak” The Alpha said as he sits down on my bed.
“I-I’m sorry, I will make it up to you once I regain my energy. It’s just that I’ really feeling weak right now” I defended trying to show my respect to him.
He stared at me and then he leaned forward “But this damn sweet scent is still in you” He said and sniffed my neck.
“Addicting” He whispered.
“Cassandra!!!” I panicked when I heard granny shouting my name as I hear her footsteps nearing my room.
I heard the Alpha’s silent chuckle when he saw how I panic “I-I’m sorry b-but Granny shouldn’t see you” I said trying to avoid his gaze.
“You should see me once you get better” He said and went straight to my balcony, as the Alpha vanished, granny opened my window.
I let out a deep sigh “Cassandra, you’re so pale!” Granny said and hurried towards me.
“Granny I’m okay” I said “You always say that but you’re not!!” She angrily said.
I sighed, I just want to rest, I just want those hybrids to stay away from me.
I smiled at granny “I’m ok granny” I said and closed my eyes. I just want them to give me a break.
Chapter 6
Cass Got Better
I opened my eyes as I feel the wind from my veranda pass through my cheeks, I blinked twice as the sun light coming from the outside rest in my forehead.
I stretched my arms and rose up to sit down. Strangely, I felt energized and my body doesn’t feel weak anymore. So, did I rest all day yesterday to wake up all energized?
My doors opened as granny shows herself.
“Cass, are you feeling ok now?” Granny asked as she placed her hand in my forehead.
I smiled “I’m ok now granny. I’m feeling all energized, I think I can even work in a farm right now” I said joking.
“That’s good to hear then, I was so worried about you since you slept for three days” Granny said making my eyes grow wide.
“F-four days??!?” I asked amazed. Granny nodded “Lara visited you every day after her class, she’s also worried about you” Granny said.
“Granny, was Lara the only one who visited me?” I asked “The Delta also came here but as you said, I didn’t let him in but since you have a veranda, I caught him sneaking in using your veranda so I didn’t have a choice but to let him in” Granny said.
“Speaking of my veranda, was Yvan the only one who sneaked in using my veranda? W-what about the king? Or the Alpha?” I asked.
Granny’s eyes narrowed and wrinkles were formed in her forehead when I asked about the Alpha and the King “Why would the Alpha or the King visit you Cassandra?” Granny asked suspiciously but in a worried tone.
I smiled and shook my head “N-no, y-you’re right Granny. Why would the Alpha or the King visit me, maybe I’m not in my mind right now that’s why I said that” I said and smiled at her trying to convince her that what I said earlier is not a big deal.
Granny smiled “You scared me Cass, anyway the Delta and Lara was the only one who visited you but strange things actually happened while you’re asleep. I always hear small noises and men’s voice in your room but when I come to check. I see nothing and no one but you sleeping soundly” Granny said and made me shiver in fear.
It’s them, the Alpha and the King and they’re right. Once I enter their lives, there’s no turning back because if I do, it will be them who will hunt.
“Cassandra, are you okay” Granny asked, I smiled and nodded.
“Of course Granny, I’m okay. By the way, what day is it today Granny?” I asked.
“It's Friday today Cass, will you attend your classes today?” Granny asked.
“Y-yes Granny I will” I said and jumped out of my
bed.
“Very well then, come downstairs after you get a shower. I’ll prepare a good breakfast for you” Granny said. I smiled and hugged Granny “Thanks granny” I whispered.
Granny chuckled “My little Cassandra here is acting sweet all of a sudden, don’t worry I’ll make your breakfast special” Granny said, smiled at me and left.
I breathe and got my towel and entered my shower room to take a bath, I didn’t get a proper bath for how many days anyway.
I stared blankly at my tiles while water from my shower is pouring down to me, I wonder what happened here while I was unconscious when the Alpha and the King came.
I went out of my bathroom after taking a shower but I almost scream to the top of my lungs when after seeing the King’s presence in my room.
“S-serafin” I mumbled, he grinned evilly and then he stood up and took his steps near me.
“W-what are you doing here” I asked as I tighten my grip to hold my towel since I only have my towel to cover up my body.
“Why would you cover your body in front of your king?” He asked evilly as he stood right in front of me. “Don’t you want your king to admire his Queen’s body?” Serafin added making me shiver all over my body.
I gathered up all my courage to look at Serafin, ever since I entered Luna Canidae I’ve always felt scared that’s why the Hybrids are all making fun of me.
“What are you doing here Serafin?” I asked but he responded with a smirk.
“I’m visiting my queen, you were asleep for how many days” He said “So you were here when I was unconscious?” I asked.
Serafin stared at me and then he smiled “It’s fascinating that you don’t look scared in front of your king anymore. Keep that up Cass and I will definitely love you” Serafin said trying to annoy me.
He took another step towards me making our distance only an inch a part “Mind showing that to me?” He whispered and held my towel. He’s trying to strip me!!!!
“Serafin stop! What are you doing?!” I said angrily as I distance myself from him. “I don’t care if you’re the king but please have some manners Serafin and get out of my room, I need to change!” I said.
He grinned “You can change in front of me, I won’t mind, you’re my queen after all” He said.
I stared at him as I try to lengthen my patience. I walked towards my cabinet and got a pair of clothes for me. After getting what I need, I hurried back to my bathroom to change.
I got out of my bathroom after changing only to see no one in my room but a piece of paper in my bed, I know it’s from Serafin.
I picked it up to read it.
‘It’s a good thing that you got better, next time never get sick without my permission’
I don’t know if I should be touched or should I laugh after reading his note, how ironic, he’s telling me not to get sick but they are the main reason why I’m sick!!!!
I shrugged and fixed myself ready to attend my class which I did not attend for how many days. I got out of my room and the moment I stepped my foot in the kitchen, I smelled the strong aroma of Granny’s Sinigang.
“Perfect timing Cass, come on I cooked Sinigang for you” She said, I smiled and sat down. “I miss this Granny” I said and sipped the soup.

I was listening to our professor as I am taking down notes when suddenly the door opened the Beta showed itself, Oh yes I almost forgot that we’re class mates in this subject.
We all stood up to show our respect to him, but to my surprise he walked towards me and then he sat to the chair that’s beside me.
Okay? I thought we’re enemies?
I sat down and glanced at him, I wonder why he chose the seat beside me.
“I heard that you became the Alpha’s servant” The Beta said, I nodded “Yes” I responded.
“Good for you, It’s nice to see some arrogant human to become a servant” He said mocking me, and he’s getting in to my nerves again!!! Just what the hell is his problem with me!?!
I didn’t respond and continued writing my notes.
The Beta looked at me “Why don’t you answer me back in an arrogant tone just like what you always do?” He said.
I breathe heavily, he harmed me and almost kill me just because I answered him back and now that I’m not responding he wants me to answer back?!? Wow, just wow!
“Come on answer back so that I can have the reason to hurt you” He said impatiently, what a despicable, good for nothing jerk!!!
I tried to calm myself and then I looked at him, I showed him a sweet smile to at least annoy him. “I’m sorry Beta but I’m trying to focus, I wasn’t around for how many days and so I need to catch up” I said and gave my gaze back to my notes.
I heard him chuckle “You always make my blood boil, that’s why humans are nothing” He said.
If I don’t know what’s patience, I might have punched this useless Beta in front of these Hybrids but since I’m Cassandra and I’m living a patient life, I should not do that.
I didn’t answer him back for him not to have a reason to speak again, if I am annoying well he is more than annoying.
The class finished as I did not receive another word from the Beta, he stood up, I looked at him but he gave me a boring face and then he left.
He doesn’t hate me because I’m arrogant, He hates me because I am a human and that makes him the arrogant one. What a selfish bastard could he be to hate all humans just because the one he loves but he can’t love is a human who happens to be the Cardinal.
I breathe heavily as I fix my things, I stood up and ready to leave the lecture room when a lady came to me and handed me a piece of paper.
I looked at her trying to figure out the reason why she’s giving me a piece of paper.
“My queen, this is message came from the king” She said, I looked at her eyes and saw those red sparks. I nodded and got the note “Thanks” I responded and she left.
I opened the note and read it “Meet me tonight, someone will get you after your class”
The king wants to meet me tonight? But its Friday today and Yvan will bring me to the Alpha. What should I do then? I can’t say no to the Alpha because he is the Alpha but I can’t also deny the King’s invitation because he is the king.
“Yo, Cass!!!” I turned around to see Lara waiving at me.
“What are you doing there?! Come on we still have a class!!” Lara shouted, I nodded and hid the note. I ran towards Lara and went to our next class.
“Good thing that you recovered fast Cass, just what have you been doing to catch a cold in your first week here” Lara said.
I breathe heavily “You’re right, what have I been doing to be in a situation like this” I responded, Lara looked at me suspiciously.
“Be honest with me Cass, why are you feeling so down these days?” Lara asked.
I smiled “Who says I’m feeling down Lara?” I defended and dragged Lara inside our next lecture room.
As we enter, I saw Yvan sitting down beside the window. I immediately dragged Lara and went towards Yvan I sat down beside Yvan but Lara seemed awkward.
“Cass, I’ll just sit there” Lara said and attempted to leave “You’re leaving when I also reserved a seat for you Lara?” Yvan said.
I smiled and pulled Lara to her seat “Yvan’s right, the Delta reserved a seat especially for you. It would be rude if you’ll just leave” I said teasing Lara.
I know for sure that Lara has this special feelings towards Yvan, I see it in her eyes every time we meet Yvan. “I-I’ll sit here then” Lara awkwardly said.
“After this class, I will have to bring you to the Hybrid mansion. The Alpha’s waiting for you there” Yvan said and I almost forgot about the crisis that I’m facing right now.
“Why would the Alpha call you?” Lara asked me, I also forgot to tell her about me being the Alpha’s servant.
“I’m afraid Cass can’t tell you about that Lara, it’s a secret
” Yvan answered Lara.
“Am I not a friend for you to hide a secret from me” Lara murmured, I laughed silently. This is the very first time that I hear Lara sulk.
Lara was about to complain again but she wasn’t able to do so since the professor came in already.
Chapter 7
The Queen Being a Servant
After the class, Yvan stood up.
“Lara, you should go home alone today. And you Cass----“
“Yeah, yeah I know, Cass will have to meet the Alpha. Of course, sure thing I better go then” Lara said and looked at me showing me that she’s sulky. “Bye Cass” Lara said and looked at Yvan “Bye Yvan” She said and left.
I understand that she’s getting sulky. I think I need to at least tell her what really is happening to me.
“Let’s go, the Alpha’s waiting for you” Yvan said. I half nodded and remembered that the king’s also waiting for me.
“Uhh, uhm Yvan I think I need to go to the women’s room. Maybe you can just wait for me outside the building?” I said.
“Can it not wait until we arrive at the Hybrid Mansion?” Yvan asked.
“No, I badly need to pee. It’s a girl thing Yvan” I said.
Yvan sighed “Fine then, I’ll wait for you outside” Yvan said and left.
After Yvan left, I immediately rushed at the back of the building where the rebels are waiting. After getting there, I saw the women who gave me the note and three more men whom I never met before.
“Our queen, it’s time to go, the king is waiting for you” The women said.
“Y-yes, I’ll go but I still need to go somewhere----“
“Cass??!” I heard Yvan’s voice from behind me. My eyes grew wide and looked back.
“Y-Yvan” I murmured and saw the color of his eyes change. And in a blink of an eye, he transformed into a very big wolf, bigger than what I saw in the field on my first day here.
Yvan attacked the Rebels, and just like Yvan, the rebels who came to escort me also transformed into wolves but since Yvan is the Delta and he’s stronger. The Rebels do not have any choice but to retreat.
