“I have it but I just need to make sure if it really is the Alpha’s phone number” I said, confused, Yvan still recited the Alpha’s phone number as I confirm it in my phone.
I sighed after Yvan confirmed the phone number “Is there something wrong? Why are you confirming the Alpha’s phone number?” He asked.
“Nah it’s just that I don’t understand it. Someone actually texted me earlier using the Alpha’s phone number to meet him but after meeting him, It turned out it’s not the Alpha but a woman” I said.
I can also see that Yvan is confused. “How is that possible, no one even the Beta or the Cardinal can use the Alpha’s phone number” Yvan said.
I sighed “Are you sure no one can use his phone number aside from the Alpha?” I asked.
Yvan thought for a while “Not really, there’s actually someone who has the rights to use the Alpha’s phone number” He said.
“Who is it?” I asked but instead of answering me, he gave me a confused look and then suddenly he shook his head.
“But it’s impossible that she’s the one who contacted you” He said. I glared at Yvan and crossed my arms.
“Tell me, who is she?” I asked.
“Lucy, she’s the only one who can use the Alpha’s phone number, she is the Alpha’s youngest sister and her name is Lucy but----” He stopped and hesitated.
“But what?” I asked impatiently.
“Lucy is long dead, a dead hybrid can’t use the Alpha’s phone number and text you because if she did, you obviously talked to a ghost” Yvan said giving me all the chills in the world. Suddenly I felt scared because of what he said.
Just thinking back earlier, she vanished into thin air. No way! A ghost talked to me?!?!
I glared at Yvan who’s smiling right now like as if he’s enjoying what he’s seeing but his face tells me that he’s also terrified “Yvan this is not a time for a childish joke” I said seriously.
Yvan fixed his expression “I’m serious myself Cass, Lucy is dead, she’s long dead and she’s the only one who has access to the Alpha’s phone number aside from the Alpha himself” Yvan said.
“How did she die?” I asked but then after asking that, I noticed Yvan’s sudden cold expression.
He sighed “It’s an information that you don’t have to know” Yvan said making me curious of the things that I need to know.
“Yvan” I said showing him how serious am I right now.
“I am the Alpha’s servant Yvan, I need to know things like this. You don’t want me to ask useless things to the Alpha himself right?” I said and made Yvan smirk like as if he’s showing me that he does not want me to threaten him.
“Threatening me with your own life? Cass don’t you think you’re being too over confident right now. Not because you are my friend and not because I always save you means you can threaten me using your own life” He said in a cold manner.
“I’m not threatening you using my own life Yvan, I’m just saying that I need your help, that you need to tell me everything that I need to know so that I won’t be able to make any mistakes in front of the Alpha since I’m his servant” I said and looked at him straight in the eyes.
He sighed and looked at me seriously. “Let’s grab a snack, I’m hungry” He said and dragged me to the cafeteria.
“Yvan---“
“Order a take-out and we’ll eat it in my car, I’ll answer your questions there” He said making my eyes wide.
He looked at me “I’ll wait for you inside the car” He said and left me, after hearing that, I rushed to the cafeteria to order a food for us, unfortunately there’s a lot of students in the cafeteria right now that’s why the waiting time is prolonged.
While waiting for the food, I texted Lara that I won’t be able to join her for dinner.
After receiving the take-out, I rushed to the parking lot where Yvan’s car is parked.
“What took you so long?” Yvan asked “You literally starved me for twenty freaking minutes” Yvan dramatically exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes to show him that I don’t care. I opened the passenger’s seat to sit in the passenger’s seat as Yvan sat in the driver’s seat.
“Burger’s for you” I said and gave him his food as I take mine. “So what now?” I asked as I watch him gobble up his food.
Yvan glared at me “Can’t you show a little consideration here, I’m eating” He said.
I sighed and glared at him “You better tell me what I need or I’ll never buy food for you again” I warned him and started eating my food.
After finishing mine, I stared at him who surprisingly not done with his food yet. I looked at my watch and I only have twenty minutes left before my next class.
“Are you doing this on purpose Yvan?” I asked showing him my annoyance.
“What do you mean?” He asked acting innocent.
I showed him my fist to tell him that I’m running out of patience and I can punch him anytime even if he’s the Delta if he keeps on doing this.
“Fine fine” He said and fixed himself.
“Lucy is dead that’s why it’s too impossible for you to meet her. She is actually the Alpha’s younger sister and aside from being the Alpha’s sister she’s also our generation’s oracle” Yvan said as my eyes grow wide.
The Alpha’s sister is the oracle of this generation? A priestess who knows the future?
“If she is the oracle, she should receive a very tight protection but why is she dead now?” I asked.
Yvan sighed and I know he’s hesitating to tell me what he knows.
“Because of her brothers, Lucy as an oracle sacrificed herself when her brother’s tried to kill each other” Yvan explained.
“Her brothers? You mean the Alpha has a brother? Who?” I asked.
“Enough with this Cass, you don’t have to know who” Yvan said.
“Yvan please—“
“It’s the king” Yvan hissed trying to communicate with me using his eyes “That’s all you need to know Cass, now don’t ask me more confidential questions about the Alpha or the Hybrids. You will be in grave danger if you know everything” He said and sighed as I’m still dumbfounded and shocked because of what I learned.
The king and the Alpha are brothers? And the oracle who is their sister died because of them. But if Lucy is dead, then who is that woman? Who is the woman who spoke to me earlier and warned me about my connection to both the Alpha and the King?
“Your class is about to start Cass” Yvan said in calmer manner.
I slowly nodded “Y-yes, thanks” I said and opened the car door to get out.
“Cass” Yvan called my attention, I turned around “Don’t tell anyone about what I have told you, I trust you” Yvan said.
I nodded and forced a smile to assure him “Don’t worry, I won’t put myself or you in danger, I have to go, my class is about to start” I said and walked slowly towards the building of my next class.
I just wonder, if the Alpha and the King are brothers. How and why Serafin did became a rebel against his brother and why, why does their sister have to die for them?
My last class for this day ended but what’s bothering my mind is what I learned and heard from Yvan. I sighed and remembered that I need to tail Lara after my class to know what she’s up to or what she’s hiding from me.
I immediately texted Lara after my last class for this day, I have learned lots of facts today and I have lots of questions about the Alpha, the King and most especially I have lots of questions to Lara. I know that her explanation earlier is not really the reason why she’s hiding a tattoo in her body. I know that it's more than that and that is what I need to know from her.
After my class, I’m really determined to follow her to know what she’s hiding. After a minute or two after texting her, I felt my phone vibrate assuming that it’s Lara’s reply.
From Lara: Sorry Cass I won’t go with you for now, I still need to work on something
To Lara: Are you not done with
your term paper yet? And where are you right now? Don’t worry, I also need to go home early
I replied and started to walk to look for Lara, I can’t lose her right now, I need to tail her. As I walk towards the main gate, I felt another vibrate from my phone.
From Lara: I’m already at the main gate, why? And yes make sure to go home early Cass
Bingo! Main gate, I immediately searched for her and I saw her. I started to walk sneakily trying to hide myself from her sight.
As I get closer, she suddenly stopped and looked behind her. Thankfully I hid myself before she could even see me. What made me curious next is that after Lara checking her surrounding; suddenly three big men came to her and spoke to her.
I got curious and tried to get nearer hoping that I may be able to eavesdrop. I’m also getting nervous since these men are not familiar, they even have bodies of a literal hunter, and they are so big and bulky that anyone who sees them would think that they are hunters of wild animals.
“We have to go, He’s waiting for you” Say’s one of the bulky guy to Lara making my eye brows rise. Where are they going? And who is Lara meeting this time? And who are these bulky, big guys.
Lara nodded and entered the truck that those guys brought. What in the freaking hell is Lara thinking to enter the car of someone very unfamiliar!!??
Or maybe not, they could be closely related to Lara but who are they?
After they got on the truck, I immediately got a taxi and asked the driver to tail the truck. As we are in the middle of tailing them, I noticed that we’re slowly entering the woods.
“Sir please do not lose them” I told the driver as we try to tail the car where Lara is. “And please don’t make it obvious that we’re tailing them” I said as I show my curiosity and fear.
“Yes ma’am but I can sense that you are a human. I suggest you to go home for now since curfew will be happening in thirty minutes. It’s too dangerous for you and for me as well, and we are entering the woods which is more dangerous” Says the driver who stopped the engine.
I formed a fist and sighed, uncle driver is right. I may also be putting him in danger because of me.
“I’m sorry sir” I said and got my bag and paid him.
“Thank you for driving for me up until here, you may now go home. I’ll just stay here” I said.
“What? Miss it’s too dangerous for you here. You’re a human, you can be the Rebel’s prey for tonight” The driver said as he shows me his concern.
I smiled “No worries sir, I can take good care of myself, you should worry about yours now please go home now, It’s also dangerous for you” I said and got out of the taxi.
“Miss---“ The driver cut what he’s about to say after figuring out that he can’t stop me, he sighed “Be safe miss and go home after doing what you’re supposed to do” He said and started running his engine to leave.
I smiled and started walking inside the woods, it’s ok if I meet a rebel here, and they can’t harm me anyway. Hybrids can’t harm me too since I am the Alpha’s servant and of course the Delta’s friend, they will be able to recognize me. What’s frightening is that I may be in danger if I meet humans who have bad intentions.
But thinking about it, why the hell did I insisted to come here in the first place when I can’t even see where the truck is, It’s just pitch black here and all I can here is the sound of the crickets. What the hell am I even thinking and where did I get all these confidence that I will be safe even at night in the middle of the woods.
I started to get scared as I start to realize how dangerous what I’m doing right now and then suddenly I heard a loud midnight roar from a wolf which I know is not far away from me.

I started to walk faster as I try to get away from the freaking sound, I can’t believe that I acted like a fool earlier. As I walk faster, I heard a crackle from behind me and then it was followed by footsteps coming towards me.
I felt chills as the wind of the night breeze walk past me. I was alarmed when I felt that someone is really behind me.
“D-don’t hurt me, I'm not here to cause any trouble. I-I’m just lost” I said and never dared to look back, I know and I’m positive that it’s not a wolf but a human.
“Why are you here” The human behind me said in a very suspicious tone, His voice is very familiar but my brain can't seem to think right now because I'm too scared, I was alarmed when he pointed his weapon to my neck.
“I- I’m a human not a wolf and I don’t have any bad intentions in coming here, believe me I’m just lost” I said trying to save my life. After saying that, he removed his weapon in my neck and then he walked towards me.
He came in front of me smiling and grinning but after seeing who is behind me, my eye brows rose “Serafin?” I said as I look at him, no , more like I glared at him.
“How can my Queen not recognize my voice? How disappointing and offending” Serafin said amused.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“I should be the one asking you that Cass, what are you doing in the woods, you know yourself how dangerous the forest is” Serafin said.
“Nah I-I just want to try going out alone?” I lied. Serafin showed me his suspicious look “You’re going out alone in the woods? I didn’t know you are this brave, are you not afraid of the wolves roaming around at night? They eat humans like you” He said trying to scare me.
I chuckled “I’m not disrespecting the empire but the only wolves who harm humans are the Rebels and not to brag my king but the Rebels can’t hurt me since I am their Queen personally chosen by the King himself” I said showing him my smirk, Serafin chuckled and stared at me.
"So you are starting to learn the system huh” He said “I told you earlier to meet me after your class, don’t tell me you forgot about it” He said.
Frankly speaking, yes, I actually did forgot about it, It’s just that, I prioritized tailing Lara more than remembering that I have a scheduled meet up with his highness.
“I-I have not forgot about it, It’s just that I thought of coming here first before going to you” I explained while avoiding his eyes.
“Really huh” Serafin said and landed his arms to my shoulders “Let’s go then” He said as he try to lead me somewhere.
“Uh where are we going?” I asked Serafin as I remove his arms in my shoulders
"Well you have to do your duty as a queen to your King" Serafin said and dragged me showing his filthy grin. Please, someone tell me that he's not thinking what I'm thinking right now.
"Well I'm afraid we're both thinking the same thing" Serafin whispered as he gives me a perverted smile.
"Wait what do you mean?" I asked but instead of answering me, he responded with a grin and I never liked that grin of his, ever since I met him.
"Or we can actually do it here" He said giving me a more perverted grin. I instinctively distanced myself to him giving him my shocked and unpleasant expression.
"What do you mean we will just do it here? Serafin, I'm warning you, not because you chose me as your queen and not because I forced myself to do it means you can own me as a whole, no and never" I said and tried to cover my self using my arms.
Serafin seemed confuse and looked at me with his confused eyes "What the hell are you saying Cassandra?" He asked and then suddenly a grin formed in his face
"Cass don't tell me that you are thinking that I may harass you or rape you here" Serafin said showing me his mocking smile.
"It may lead into that" I said making me feel the spirit of embarrassment. After saying that, I heard a loud laugh from him, it's not just a simple laugh, it's a very loud and noisy laugh coming from the king himself.
The louder he laughs, the more embarrassed I feel. Fine, I may have mis
understood him but does he have to make me feel embarrassed all the way?
"I don't know what you're laughing at Serafin but it's a bit offending" I said as I glare at him.
He stared at me and then he placed his hands in his pocket "I just want to make this clear Cass, not because I chose you as the queen means I'm attracted and addicted to you, that's a no no my queen" Serafin said giving me his mocking smile.
I rolled my eyes, 'what's the reason then? Tss' I murmured and started walking faster than him. He always has his nasty and unpleasant attitude.
"Hey where are you going?" Serafin asked.
"I'm going home of course" I said glaring at him.
"I told you we're going somewhere" Serafin said "After you embarrass me like this Serafin, do you really think I'm still willing to come with you?!" I asked annoyed.
Serafin chuckled "Cassandra are we having a lover's quarrel here?" Serafin asked.
I gave him a disgusting smile, just he wish "Where are we going anyway?" I asked.
"We're having a meeting to plan the incoming war" Serafin said making my eyes big, because of shock and the sudden blow, I was not able to speak for a while.
"Cass?" Serafin said as he tries to get my attention.
"I'm sorry but a plan for what?" I asked.
"A war, Misty told me that the Hybrid Empire is planning something that's why we need to move now or else the Hybrids can ambush us without us knowing" Serafin said.
"You're close to the Alpha himself, are there any suspicious things around him? Like a secret meeting within the hybrids?" Serafin asked.
I bit my lower lip "N-none so far and the Alpha always conducts his meetings in private. It seems like he does not trust me yet" I said.
Serafin stared at me suspiciously "Are you sure?" Serafin asked.
"Y-yes of course I am" I said.
"Next time, make sure that you are able to listen to their conversations. Do whatever you can to get his trust" Serafin said and started walking.
"Yeah of course I will" I murmured and followed him.
"We're going to my place for now, the others are waiting there" He said as he walks faster.
