“But what if---”
“Pleaseeeeeee!” I said and raised both of my hands to stop him “Ok this may look and sound disrespectful but can you not stop doubting and do what you need to do. Besides, I was not able to focus to the lecture because of you” I said and got my things.
“I got to go, I’m late for my next class” I said and hurriedly left him. Gracious goodness, the Beta always annoys me, he is always annoying!

Lara would be my classmate for my next class and so I thought she might have reserved a seat for me. I entered the lecture room for my third class and there I saw Lara widely smiling at me and waving her hand.
As usual, the lecture room is not full since students doesn’t really enroll literature. I just don’t get why do they not fancy literature when in fact its interesting and entertaining.
“You’re almost late” Lara said.
“Yeah, it’s because the annoying Beta kept on asking me same things” I said.
“The Beta? I thought you’re not in good terms with the Beta?” Lara asked.
“Well yeah, we’re not even friends it's just that I need to relay a message to him from the Cardinal and then after that he kept on asking me unnecessary and repeated questions” I said.
“Wait what?! You are friends with the Cardinal and will they come back as a couple?” Lara asked using her extra microphone voice.
“Shush Lara don’t be too loud” I said.
“But yeah, are you close with the Cardinal?” Lara asked.
“Not really why?” I asked.
“They said she’s kind, I actually want to meet her at least” Lara said.
Kind? I almost laugh like literally, she’s not kind and she actually lied to me but yeah I somewhat understand her because both of us are in the same situation it's just that I’m luckier because between the two of us, she will die and I won’t.
I looked at Lara “I will actually meet the Cardinal later at five, you might want to join?” I asked Lara and then suddenly her face lightened showing me her excitement.
I half smiled, Misty and I agreed to meet later at five for our plan and yes I know that it would be a top secret since we are spying two empires but I need to include Lara on this.
I sighed and looked at Lara’s barely showing tattoo at the back of her neck, she might have noticed that I actually noticed the weird tattoo at the back of her neck. I know for sure that Lara is not just an ordinary human.
I know that she’s also a spy from somewhere, it's just that I cannot determine where she is from because the tattoo at the back of her neck is not from the Hybrid or Rebellion Empire.
And it's just weird that Lara knows everything about me and everything that’s happening to me. Lara can also be my ally or my enemy.
Chapter 11
The Oracle
I am pre-occupied at the moment while I’m having lunch with Yvan because of what I saw at the back of Lara’s tattoo, Lara can’t be with us for lunch since she’s rushing a written output that she needs to pass before 1 pm.
And about Lara’s tattoo, I know I saw it somewhere and I’m positive that It’s some kind of an organization it is just that I can’t really remember where and when I saw that tattoo.
“Yow Lara?! Won’t you start eating your lunch? Are you not hungry? Just tell me and I’m more than willing to eat your food” Yvan being a freaking sly recommended. I shook my head to clear up my mind.
“Just you wish” I said as I glare at him and grabbed my spoon. As both of us are enjoying our lunch, I hesitated if I should or should not ask Yvan about the tattoo.
I sighed and looked at Yvan
“Yvan” I said as I try to get his attention “Hmm?” He asked “Did you perhaps encountered a certain tattoo, the design is actually weird, it’s a sword penetrated into a wolf’s head” I said and made Yvan pause for a while, he looked at me with a suspicious look.
He slowly dropped his spoon and looked at me seriously.
“Where did you see that tattoo?” Yvan asked as he locks his gaze to me.
“Uhm I just saw it to a random person that I encountered in the campus?” I said, I’m not really sure if I should say that I saw it in Lara’s body.
“What? A student in the campus has that?! How is that possible, no one can enter the University with that tattoo in their body” Yvan said and because of that, I’m damn confused.
“What do you mean?” I asked confused.
“People with that tattoo in their body are prohibited in Luna Canidae because they are extremely dangerous especially to the Hybrid Empire” Yvan explained looking concerned because of what I said.
“What do you mean they are dangerous? I mean, are they from the Rebellion Empire?” I asked confused, is he saying that Lara is dangerous and harmful? Or that Lara is from the Rebellion Empire but Lara can’t be dangerous because first she’s a human and second she’s my friend.
“Listen Cass, once you meet that person with that tattoo in his/her body. Make sure to call me or anyone in the Hybrid Empire because they can cause huge harm to the hybrids” Yvan said.
“But what or who the hell are they, what are their identities? I mean why are they dangerous and in what reason?” I asked Yvan.
“You don’t have to know” He said and wiped his mouth “I need to meet with the Beta and the Alpha about this case, I have to go” He said and left but before he left, I heard him murmur something.
‘I thought they don’t exist anymore’ that is what I heard from him.
They don’t exist anymore? So basically that tattoo is not from the Rebellion Empire, of course it’s impossible that it’s from the Rebellion Empire because I know the symbol of the Rebels.
If it’s not from the Rebels then does that mean that there is another kind of empire here and how are they dangerous? How the hell is Lara dangerous?
Aside from the rebellion empire, is there another enemy empire that I do not know? As I finish my lunch, I felt my phone vibrate. It’s Misty and she’s calling.
“Yes Misty?” I asked.
“Hey, I’m meeting with someone tonight I’m afraid I can’t meet you later Cass” She said, I rolled my eyes. Of course she’s meeting the self-proclaimed divine Beta that she loves so much.
“I know that you’re meeting the Beta, its ok enjoy then” I said and hanged up the phone.
I can’t meet her either. I need to spy on Lara later. Yvan just can’t convince me that Lara is an enemy. Well Lara can never be an enemy in my eyes.
Lara is a friend of mine and she’s the second person I met here, I know she’s not dangerous, she can’t be.
Lara will be my classmate for my next class at 1:30, I can verify her tattoo later, I might be wrong about her tattoo.
I finished my food and went straight to the class. I know that it’s still early but I know that Lara’s already there finishing her paper.
I entered the lecture room and bingo!! I saw her at the very corner of the room
“Yow Cass!!! Why are you here early? It’s not like you to attend the class early” She said amused.
“Nah I just finished my lunch early, I also brought a take out for you. I know you haven’t eaten yet” I said and left the takeout in front of her.
“Thanks Cass I just need to finish this to send it to professor Mejia before 1, I’m almost done anyway” Lara said while pre occupied in front of her laptop.
I nodded and pretended to look at my phone, I sneakily looked at her neck but her hair is not tied that’s why I can’t see anything.
I sighed as I wait for her to finish her paper.
“Lara I’m thinking of putting a tattoo in my body” I said, for a split second she stopped but continued typing again.
“Why would you suddenly think of that?” She asked me as she continued what she’s doing.
“Nah, I just saw someone with a tattoo behind their necks and I just think it’s cool” I said and looked at her.
She
suddenly stopped typing and she looked at me with those scary eyes that she never showed me before.
“A tattoo behind their necks?” She asked suspiciously, I smiled and acted innocent “Yeah, that would look cool to me right?” I asked as I look straight at her eyes.
Just what is she hiding from me?
And then suddenly those scary eyes of her shifted into her usual smiling and jolly face.
“Well yeah that would look cool but it’s too dangerous if it’s behind the neck, don’t forget that we’re humans Cass” Lara said and gave back her gaze to her laptop.
“Do you perhaps have tattoos? Lara?” I asked as I observe her reaction.
“Nope, I don’t have one and I don’t intend to have tattoos in my body Cass” Lara said without pausing much as she maintains her gaze at her laptop.
She’s obviously lying. I saw her tattoos with my own two eyes that she has it at the back of her neck. Why the hell is she lying?
“And perfect! I’m done!” Lara said excitedly “I’ll just need to send this to prof. Mejia” Lara said and sent an email to our psychology professor.
After sending the email, she immediately grabbed the food I bought for her. She seemed hungry that she grabbed the battered chicken using her bare hands.
I sighed and got a piece of tissue for her, she made a stain in her blouse because of the chicken’s sauce. “Eat it slowly Lara, the chicken won’t run away from you” I said and wiped the stain.
I purposely got a messy food for her knowing she eats recklessly and that she would easily make a stain in her blouse and bingo she did.
I held her hair to place it in her back so that I could see her tattoo but she’s too fast to manage to hold my hand.
“What are you doing?” She asked giving me a suspicious gaze.
“What do you mean? I’m trying to wipe your mess duh, what’s wrong with you?” I said trying to show her my confusion. She showed me her smile and then continued eating.
“Maybe I’m just being too over-reacting” She said, I bit my lower lip and then formed a fist.
“I saw your tattoo, you said you don’t have one” I said as I gaze at her straight in her eyes.
She stared at me back, those eyes, that’s not the eyes that Lara usually shows me. It’s intimidating me.
Our eyes kept on staring at each other and before we knew it, we automatically avoided the gaze of each other when a group of our classmates entered the lecture room.
“I kept my tattoo a secret” Lara said and continued gobbling up the food I bought for her.
“Why?” I asked “Because I don’t want to raise any suspicions, the Hybrid Empire forbade anyone to wear tattoos. Having tattoos in Luna Canidae is like a crime” Lara said.
“Why won’t you let it be removed then?” I asked.
“I can’t, this tattoo is my identity, and this is the only thing I can use for me to find my parents” Lara said.
I sighed, yeah Lara and I have lots of similarities and that is being raised by our own grannies because we don’t have parents.
Just like me, she doesn’t also know where her parents are and what happened to them.
I was about to say something when the professor entered and at the same time, my phone vibrated. I secretly got my phone and then I saw the Alpha’s text.
Yes I have the Alpha’s phone number since he ordered me the night when I was abducted by Serafin to save his number.
He even told me that I should be thankful that I’m the only human who knows his number. Of course, I’m his maid. I need to know basic things.
Alpha: Run to the auditorium RIGHT NOW and don’t make me wait.
Out of curiosity, I unconsciously raised my right eyebrow but since it’s the Alpha, my body automatically fixed my things and wore my bag.
I’m just thankful that the lecture room is wide that’s why I can easily sneak out using the door at the back.
“I’ll be back Lara, I’ll copy your notes later I just need to attend an urgent one” I said and immediately left without letting Lara speak.
What does the Alpha want now? I can’t believe I’m skipping my class just for him.
I took big steps to get out of the building since the auditorium is three buildings away from where I am right now.
As I hurry to reach the auditorium, some groups of students blocked my way, confusion hit me but I was enlightened when I saw their red eyes. They are members of the rebellion empire.
“What do you think you’re doing? Move and don’t block my way” I said in a commanding tone as I show them my intimidating eyes, hoping I can scare them just like how Serafin does.
“The King sent us, our Queen” The guy in a varsity jacket said.
“He’s actually in the campus right now” The guy added and made my eyes grow big.
“He’s in the campus?! What is the king doing here? It’s too dangerous for him to show himself inside the Alpha’s territory” I said and turned my head left and right to see that there are no Alpha or King around.
“You should tell the King that he needs to leave the campus now especially that the Alpha is also in the University, he’s not only putting himself in danger but all of us” I said but after saying that. I heard Serafin’s voice from behind me.
“Stop worrying yourself my queen, I came here to see you not to cause trouble” He said and then he showed me his usual scary grin.
I unconsciously avoided his gaze and then I remembered that night, the night when he abducted me, it was the night when he showed me his anger. He was angry that night because I chose to go with the Alpha instead of him.
He raised his right hands and slowly reached for my cheeks.
“My king, please leave this place now. This is not a place where you can do whatever you want to do as a king, this is the Alpha’s territory” I said but he just responded me with a smirk. What the hell is he thinking?
“Should I assume that you’re worried for me? Or that the Alpha scares you?” He asked.
I rolled my eyes in front of him “I wish for you to stop acting like a child, what you’re doing right now is too dangerous not only to me but also to your people, if someone from the Hybrid Empire sees you with these students, they will definitely be killed including me” I said showing him that I’m serious and then I shifted my gaze to the rebels.
“I’m the queen, now follow my command and get the king out of here” I said and looked at Serafin.
“The Alpha’s looking for me and I need to go to him as his servant. Now if you may please excuse me, I need to go” I said and started walking.
“Meet me after your class” Serafin said, I stopped and nodded to satisfy him and then started walking away from them. I know that Serafin will bombard me with his nasty attitude later on but I need to avoid him for now because his putting everyone in danger.
I went straight to the auditorium and looked for a secret door where the Alpha could be hiding.
“Alpha your servant is here” I said as I try to get his attention, after saying that, I received another text message from him.
Alpha: There’s a secret door at the extreme right corner of the exit
After reading his text message, I rushed to the secret door where he instructed me to go and gently opened it and as usual it’s dark inside.
“Alpha?” I said.
I moved my feet to walk and look for the switch but unexpectedly, someone grabbed me by my wrist and covered my mouth.
“Who—ljkdfakjf” I was not able to say a thing because she’s blocking my mouth, yes I’m positive that this person is not the Alpha nor the king, it’s not a man, it’s a woman.
“Your Alpha is not here nor your king” She said using her feminine voice, positive it’s a woman but why? What is she having against me?
“Don’t try to force yourself against me. I won’t remove my hand to your mouth because you may scream but I’m not an enemy” She said as she tries to tame me using her thin hands, I can say she’s quite strong
.
“I came here to warn you. I had my doubts when I first saw you but seeing you with the king and with the Alpha, I have no doubt that it’s you” She started.
“Leave this place while you can, leave Luna Canidae and be gone because your mere existence will destroy not only the hybrids nor the Rebels but the whole Luna Canidae and guess what? The worst punishment that you will receive from staying here is ruining your own empire” She said in a cold manner like as if she knows that she’s right and that I need to listen to her.
“Now after this, you only have two choices. Run away immediately, leave and you will be able to save the three empires or stay and ruin the Hybrids, Rebels and your empire” She said and slowly removed her hands from my mouth.
I immediately turned around to see her but I saw no one, I immediately grabbed my phone to turn on the flashlight expecting to see a face but I saw no one or nothing but an empty room.
I went outside the secret room to see if someone is outside but there’s no one. Just who is that woman? And how did she manage to vanish in thin air in that very small amount of time?
And I don’t understand what she said, the three empires? There’s another empire? If there’s another one, is it connected to Farah’s tattoo? And how am I connected to that empire?
I massaged my forehead, its aching because of what happened. I don’t even know if she is telling me the truth and how can I even run away right now. It’s late, it’s too late because I already got the King’s mark and became the Alpha’s servant.
But the most confusing thing is that the woman who warned me used the Alpha’s phone number to contact me. How did she do that?
I immediately walked and went to Yvan, I already know his schedule and knows that his class will end soon, I texted Yvan that I’m waiting for him and waited outside. I need him to answer my questions.
“Yow Cass, what are you doing here?” Yvan asked.
“Yvan you know the Alpha’s phone number right? May I have it?” I asked.
“I thought you have it already?” He asked.
