The meal with the other Alpha couples has ended and the primary concerns towards territorial issues and external relations was brought up for us to talk about.
The conversations and any other relations was successfully finished and it was time for the other Alpha couples to leave Luna Canidae for it will be evening soon.
As the Alpha from the South speaks with my Alpha, his mate approached me
"It was really nice to meet a human mate, well I hope we get a long and be in contact in the future" Says the known humanist and thoughtful mate from the South as she offer me her hand.
I smiled back "It's a pleasure, well I hope to be on good terms with you in the near future" I said and then her Alpha approached us.
"It was a pleasure to meet you Madame" He said and just like his mate, he offered his hand.
I smiled and shook my hands with him.
"The southern continent will always look forward to tighter alliance with Luna Canidae" He continued, as he says that, my Alpha approached us.
"Sure, my mate and I will always consider the south in our plans" My Alpha said.
They smiled and then they left.
After the troops of the southern continent left, the Alpha from the east approached us with his shy mate who can't even look at me in my eyes.
"I must say you're mate is tough just like you" The Alpha from the east said. My Alpha laughed "I learned it from my Alpha" I said and made the mood brighter.
The Alpha from the east sighed "My apology earlier was sincere, we're really sorry from mocking you, we shouldn't have said that. Maybe yeah we had a prejudice against human mates that I almost forgot that my ancestor was a human mate. Again I apologize for that" He said.
"I understand" I said.
"But come to think of it, that history is actually not a common knowledge. Our mates doesn't even know that but its a surprise that you know about that history and not to mention its the history of another continent" He said.
I smiled and then I remembered my conversation with Misty.
FLASHBACK:
"Cass, you see, it has already been a tradition to all hybrids that if an Alpha gets a mate, all Alphas should be there to congratulate him" Misty said and paused for a while.
"But..." Misty said and pause for a while.
"But that's actually just an excuse, the Hybrids from around the world will not actually congratulate the Alpha and the mate but instead they will come here to find a weakness and that weakness is you Cassandra, the Alpha's mate who is a human" Misty explained.
I raised my eyebrows maybe because of confusion and maybe because of the thought that this is for the sake of hypocrisy of the four continents.
"Be careful Cass, this is not a party to celebrate your position, this will be an initiation and test to see how capable you are of being the Alpha's mate and on how capable you are to protect Luna Canidae. Leaders from different continents will come to eat you alive" Misty explained. As I finish my shower, I sighed.
"What should I do then?" I asked and got out of the shower room wearing only my towel.
Misty gave me the dress that I'm supposed to wear for the occasion. I must say it's an elegant dress with expensive materials. I smiled, this dress will make me look elegant and expensive.
"Wear this" She said, I sighed and removed my towel in front of her.
After doing that, she screamed the hell out of her lungs.
"Are you crazy Cass!!? Why the hell would you strip in front of me!!!" She shouted in annoyance covering her eyes "My gosh! My innocent eyes!!" She added.
I chuckled and wore the dress.
"I'm now covered okay, don't act like as if you really are innocent. So back to the topic? What should I do and how will they even pressure me?" I asked.
"They will probably-- no actually they will one hundred percent attack your being as a human mate because obviously they see it as a weakness" Misty said.
"But actually you are not the first human mate in the whole existence of human wolf" She said.
My eyes grew wide "What do you mean I'm not? So there's someone before me? What happened to her?" I asked.
"She died obviously but she was loved by her people because she was a great mate and her child who became an Alpha also became successful" Misty said.
"You can use that to defend your self" Misty added.
"Well yeah I can do that, its just that it won't be enough. Do you have any other information about them?" I asked Misty.
Misty shrugged "Nope that's all I know but actually there was a rumor that that human mate was an author and she made her life as a fiction. They say that before she died, her story was published and was being read by mortals and immortals not knowing its an autobiography not a a fiction. Its just that I don't know the details because I'm not a book worm" Misty said.
"It became a fiction? I have been in Luna Canidae for more than months now, I should have read that book if its a fiction" I said and then suddenly my eyes grew wide because I remembered reading a book on my very first time here and its about a human who fell in love with a hybrid.
"D-do you at least remember the book cover?? Or the title?" I asked.
"Hmm" Misty tried to recall if ever she encountered the book
"Oh yes I remember that I first saw it when I was in the rebellion empire. The King was reading it, I still remember the book cover its a guy in plain dark and at the back is a wolf with sentences in it. Since the king and I aren't close because I'm more like a slave to him I did not bother to ask him" She said
"But then, when Eros and I are dating back then, I also saw him reading it, the title is someone's painful sacrifice" Misty said confirming what I have in mind.
"I have it, I have that book" I whispered.
"Hmm? What do you mean you have it?" Misty asked.
"I met Serafin, the king because of that book, he recommended it to me. I have been reading that book since my first day in Luna Canidae" I said.
END OF FLASHBACK
I didn't know that the book who placed me in danger will also be the one who will save me in front of these wolves.
I smiled in front of the Alpha "Being an Alpha's mate comes with great responsibility and I started my responsibility by learning the system and the history" I said as I smile.
The Alpha smiled "That's good then, I hope my mate learned something from you, well we have to go now. It was great meeting the mate of Luna Canidae" He said and left with his troops.
As the troops of the east leave, I noticed the young Alpha from the west who is timidly and shyly approaching us.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, I learned a lot from you today" The young Alpha told me.
"Like what?" I asked.
"My kingdom is the weakest of them all and because of what you said earlier, I am now determined to make the west strong" He said and bid goodbye as his attendants approach him.
Before his troops leave, he gave me a genuine sweet smile and left.
And of course last but definitely the least, the Alpha from the north who acted as my lawyer and the only real friend and ally of my Alpha.
I just learned earlier that my Alpha and him are distant relatives.
I was expecting that he approach my Alpha first but no he did not, He approached me and then he offered his hand.
"My name's Austin" He said smiling, offering his hand.
Obviously I'm confused, why is he letting me know his name when I don't even know my Alpha's name.
"Don't worry, I'm not flirting with you. It's just that I like you a lot personally as my cousin's mate that's why I'm introducing myself using my name" He said.
I chuckled "Is it really that easy to read my mind?" I asked.
"Sort of? And I can say that its the only difference that you have with your Alpha" He said.
"I'm a little hurt Austin, how dare you prioritize someone's mate that your cousin?" My Alpha said as Austin laugh.

p; "You know I'm sick of you and its a good thing to have a new member in our family" Austin said and then suddenly he got serious.
He looked at me with that serious yet sympathetic eyes "This will just be the beginning. You will have to face a lot with your Alpha" He said and tapped my Alpha's back.
"I have to go, my troops are waiting" He said as he smile at us and then he left

The party has already ended and the Alpha told me to go and see my granny since I'm already his mate and I'm a ruler of Luna Canidae, my family should also live with me.
As I enter my granny's room, I saw Yvan and a number of servants who attends to my granny's needs.
As they see me, the attendants left as Yvan stay.
"Granny" I said and came to hug her.
"I never knew that you will be the Alpha's mate Cassandra" Granny said as she's not yet convince that her grand daughter will be a ruler of Luna Canidae.
"I never thought too granny but it happened already" I said flashing a smile in my face.
"I heard you did pretty well in front of the other Alpha couples. I'm so proud of you Cassandra" Granny said.
"Cass, I mean madame, I think we need to talk" Yvan said.
I chuckled "Why so awkward Yvan, you can just call by my name" I said.
"That's a rule madame" He said and looked at granny.
"You're granny doesn't want to live here, she wants to go back to her house" Yvan said, I sighed.
"She said she will just be a nuisance to you and to the Alpha and she said she can't leave her house" Yvan explained.
I sighed "I'll talk to her" I said, Yvan nodded.
"Yeah that would be better" He said and left the room.
I approached granny and sat down, trying to level my self to her.
"You really love our house do you? You never wanted to leave that house even until the day you die" I said as I stare at granny.
"You even chose to stay in that house than accompanying me in the city" I said.
"Cass, you should understand" Granny said, I smiled "I'm not angry about granny, it's just that I'm very curious why you never want to leave that house" I asked.
Granny sighed and looked at me, she held my cheeks and smile.
"I never thought that my precious grand daughter would be the Alpha's mate but I know you will be a great ruler" Granny said changing the topic.
I smiled "And you can be by my side, teaching what to do and not to do. Granny I want you to stay here with me" I said but she just shook her head.
"You know I don't belong here----"
"Of course not, granny you belong here, you're my only guardian" I said cutting what she's about to say.
She sighed "I don't belong here, you know that you're mother's memory is there and I can not just abandon that house" She said.
I stared at her.
"Is that all, is that really the only reason why you don't want to leave the house?" I asked, after saying that, she seemed flustered because of the sudden question.
"W-what do you mean? Of course that's my only reason. What other reason could there be Cassandra?" She said.
"So there really is another reason, you know you can't lie to me granny" I said as I gaze at her.
She avoided my gaze, I sighed and held her hand "Granny what's wrong?" I asked.
"You don't need to know Cass, you're here as the Alpha's mate. You shouldn't think other thing other than what you have in my mind" She said and I know that's the end of our conversation.
I smiled and nodded "I'll visit you from time to time but you should understand that we will need to send security to our house. You're still the mate's guardian and many will come after you especially the rebels" I said.
Granny smiled "You don't have to that Cass--"
"Granny please just this once, don't oppose me. Can you not just agree with me" I said.
Granny sighed and looked at me and then she nodded.
THE KING'S POINT OF VIEW
I smirked as I tighten my grip while watching the live broadcast of the Alpha couple of Luna Canidae. This is the very moment where the Alpha introduces his mate to the whole world, I chuckled because of this absurd situation.
I continued staring at the screen where I see my own Queen being introduced as the Alpha's mate live.
"Tell me what happened? How did this happen and why is the Queen there?" I asked Rex as I try to compose my self.
"My King, the Queen already got the Alpha's mate's tattoo maybe a week after she got the Queen's tattoo. She was already the mate right before she became the Alpha's servant" Rex said trying to explain the situation.
I laughed "So what are you trying to say? That the Queen cheated on me?" I asked Rex showing him my annoyance because of what I'm seeing right now.
"No my King, I can't say that the Queen cheated on you my King. According to the fake cardinal, she thought that the tattoo that she had was the Hybrid empire's identity. She never thought that that tattoo is the mate's identity" Rex explained.
"Don't tell me you believe the fake cardinal's words" I said still locking my gaze to the screen.
"No, of course not my king, I just delivered to you what she reported" Rex said.
I chuckled "Get ready Rex, we will have to do something tonight. Someone has to pay for this betrayal" I said.
"What do you mean my King?" Rex asked.
I grinned "We will have to abduct her" I said.
After saying that, Rex seemed alarm because of what I said "My king, I'm sorry for this but abducting the Queen which is also the Alpha's mate I think is not a good idea. The Queen is already the mate and the ruler of Luna Canidae, we will be at a huge disadvantage if we abduct the Queen because abducting the Alpha's mate means waging war not only against Luna Canidae but to the five continents" Rex said.
"Especially that Luna Canidae ensured a more secure alliance with the four continents because of the Alpha's mate" Rex added showing me his concern.
I chuckled. "Who says we will abduct the Queen? She's still my Queen and of course the Alpha's mate, she is the Queen of the Rebellion Empire and the Ruler of Luna Canidae which means she has become untouchable and powerful that's why we can not just touch her and harm her just as we wish" I said leaving questions all over Rex's face.
"Who are you referring to then my King?" Rex asked.
"Her only guardian which is her Granny is her official guardian that's why its obvious that she will be receiving tight security from the Hybrids. The only people whom we can touch that's close to her are the fake cardinal and the leader of the Hunters" I said and faced Rex still painting my grin in my face.
"We will have to abduct the people that will make her come to us. The fake Cardinal and the leader of the Hunters" I said as I smirk.
"The hybrids don't really give security to the cardinal since they just lock her up in the mansion but since our fake cardinal leaves the mansion without the hybrids knowing, it will just be easy for us to get her and since the leader of the hunters still doesn't know that we know who she is, it will also just be easy to get her especially when she's at the university" I said
Rex nodded and bowed down to me "As you order my King" He said and left
Chapter 18
The Wrath of the King
Cassandra
A lot of things has changed in my every day activities since yesterday where I was introduced by the Alpha as the Alpha's mate. My schedule has been very congested and I needed to attend lots of meetings every day.
As for my studies, I still need to attend the university since I'm still a student but the most awkward thing is that all of those students who did not care a bit about me before I came the mate bowed down right in front of me that even my professors had to show respect to me by bowing down.
And I must admit that these changes in my life is driving me crazy.
They are treating me like how they treat the Beta and the Delta and it's too awkward for me to ev
en accept it. Before being introduced as the mate, only the students from the rebellion empire bows down to me but this time it's different.
And speaking of the rebellion empire, I think I need to talk to Serafin about what had happened. He has all the rights to know anyway, the problem is on how he will accept this because I know that he will not just sit back and I know that I will have to accept the consequences. I will have to accept his wrath.
I know Serafin, he will even think that I cheated on him even if it's not intentional.
As I walk alone, Rex suddenly showed up in front of me and then he bowed down to me as a sign of respect.
"R-rex" I mumbled.
"My Queen, the King wants you, he is looking for you" He said.
I nod "Yes don't worry, I will come after I finish all of my class today" I said
Rex sighed still avoiding my gaze while bowing down "I'm afraid the king can't wait for that long My Queen" He said and looked around him.
"Forgive me for my next words my Queen but we will have to force you to come with us if you don't agree to come with us right now. The King ordered us to bring you using any method may it be by force or by volunteering" He said.
I stared at him directly in his eyes and then I sighed "Did you tell him about the leader of the hunters?" I asked.
"I did, and he also saw the broadcast yesterday about the Alpha's mate. The Alpha's mate who is his Queen" He said still avoiding my gaze.
I nodded and sighed "I guess I will have to go with you then" I said and looked at him "Lead me the way" I said.
He bowed down to me and started walking.
I don't know what will happen to me the moment I enter his territory but one thing is for sure he will not kill me because I know he can't and that's the only insurance I know for me to be able to escape his wrath.

Rex along with some of the followers escorted us to the Serafin's territory and as I enter the King's room, I started to feel this cold icy aura that surrounds the room. I calmed myself and looked at his back.
