Reaper

He didn’t give her time to recover from her orgasm, pulling her body down to meet his, lining up his cock with her drenched folds. “This is going to hurt, honey and I’m sorry.” He thrust balls deep into her core and stilled when she cried out. He whispered her name over and over, wanting to take away the pain he had caused her but there was no way around it.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispered.
“No, Reaper,” she said. “You have nothing to be sorry for.”
“I hurt you,” he said.
“You would never hurt me,” she said. “Please, move,” she begged. “Make me yours.”
“You are mine, Lizzy,” he said, needing to give her the truth. He knew that there was no way to explain what was happening between the two of them. Maybe it was some supernatural phenomena or maybe it was just their fate that the two of them were supposed to be together. He wasn’t going to try to rationalize anything that had happened between the two of them. All he knew, deep down in his gut, was that she was his—his Lizzy.
Elizabeth
Beth woke the next morning, the bright sunshine assaulting her sleep. “Ugg,” she groaned, shielding her face from the bright light. The baritone laughter coming from the man behind her reminded Beth that she wasn’t alone.
“Reaper,” she whispered as if remembering their night together.
“Were you expecting someone else?” he asked, giving her back her words from last night.
“No,” she said. “Did we um—” She almost felt shy about asking the rest of her question. Lizzy pulled the covers open to realize that she was missing the t-shirt and panties she had worn to bed last night.
“Yeah,” Reaper admitted. “You okay?” That was a good question. Lizzy stretched, assessing any odd aches and pains and besides her girl parts feeling a little sore from use, she was fine.
“Yes,” she admitted. “Are you?” Lizzy flipped to her back so she could see Reaper’s face. It was so easy to read him. He didn’t hide his emotions and his face gave away exactly how he was feeling.
“Better than okay,” he admitted. “I’m perfect.” He leaned over her body and gently brushed her lips with his.
“So, last night really happened,” she asked.
“Yes,” he said.
“I’ve never had another person in my dream like that before. Well, besides my grandmother. She used to tell me that she’d meet me in my dreams, when I was too afraid to fall to sleep. I thought it was just a coincidence that I dreamed about her, but now, I’m wondering if she didn’t share my dreams with me, like you did last night. What do we do now, Reaper?” Beth asked.
“Damned if I know,” he admitted. “This is all new for me too. What I do know is we can’t go home right now. I need to figure out our cover story and give Ringer and Dave some time to get everything in place.”
The thought of not going home right now made Beth a little sad. Lyra had just confided in her that she was a seer and she wanted to be there for her sister but Reaper was right. They couldn’t take the chance that his boss might figure out their plan. That would end badly for them both and keeping Reaper safe was her top priority.
“Are you sure you can trust Ringer?” Beth asked.
Reaper shrugged, “I have no idea. If you would have asked me that question before our meeting yesterday, I would have told you that I didn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. But now, I don’t know. I mean, he set up the meeting between Dave and me and well, if he’s telling the truth, he’s protecting Sophie.”
“But, you’re still not sure you can trust him?” she said.
“No,” he admitted.
“Then I guess it’s a good thing you have me tagging along,” she teased. “I’m a pretty good judge of character and I think you can.”
Reaper looked at her as if she had lost her mind. “You know that from just a quick meeting?” he asked.
“Well, that and I’m pretty sure that my sister has seen your sister and Ringer in a dream,” she said.
“What?” Reaper sat up. “Why the fuck didn’t you say something before now?”
“Um—there is the little matter of you not believing in my abilities,” she reminded him.
“Yeah,” he said, giving her a sheepish grin. “I’m sorry about that.”
“You’ve already apologized,” she said. “And, that’s why I’m telling you now. Just before meeting you, I had lunch with my sister, Lyra. She admitted to me that she was having dreams.”
“Alright, what’s the big deal in that—you said she can do what you do, right?” Reaper asked.
“Yes, but I didn’t know that until yesterday when she told me about a woman she had been seeing in her dreams. Do you have a picture of your sister?” Beth could almost see the woman from her sister’s description.
“Sure, but I don’t know what good a picture of Sophie will do,” he said. He found his cell phone on the table next to the bed and pulled up a picture of his sister, showing it to her.
“I took this of Sophie and me about a month ago,” he said. Beth hated the sadness she heard in his voice and wished she could help ease some of it.
“May I?” she asked, reaching for his phone. Reaper nodded and handed it to her and she studied the picture of Sophie. She looked a lot like Reaper, having the same eyes, but her hair was blonde and there was sadness in her expression that made Beth physically ache for her. The same emptiness Lyra described.
“Does she have a tattoo of a dove on her hip?” Beth asked. Lyra went on and on about that detail and Beth was starting to see why. It was a key piece of information that might give her some clue as to whether or not they were dealing with the same woman.
“Yes,” Reaper excitedly admitted. “She got it after my mother died, saying that she had a dream about a dove and just knew she had to get a tat of it.”
“My sister has seen Sophie and you’re right to be worried about her but Ringer isn’t the one who wants to hurt her,” she said.” Sophie was begging Lyra to save her from an older man.” Reaper took his phone back from her and scrolled through his pictures.
“This guy?” he asked, showing her his phone again.
She shook her head, “I don’t know,” she said. “All Lyra told me was that Sophie was crying and begging for help and when Lyra asked her who wanted to hurt her, she showed her an older man.”
“Fuck,” Reaper growled.
“Forward me this picture and I’ll send it to my sister and ask her if it’s the same guy, once we get the new cell phone,” she offered.
Reaper nodded and then stopped to look at her. His smile was almost apologetic. “I don’t even know your number,” he admitted. Elizabeth giggled and took his phone back from him. She entered her number and saved it in his phone.
“There,” she said, handing it back to him.
“Thanks,” he said. He studied her information and laughed. “I see you’ve saved yourself as my girlfriend,” he said.
“Well, I didn’t want you to get me confused with anyone else,” she teased.
He pulled her against his body and kissed her mouth. “I don’t think that is even a possibility,” he whispered against her lips.
“Good,” she said. “Now, let’s figure out how to save your sister so I can get home to help mine. I have a feeling that if my sister is seeing yours, we are more connected than we imagined.” Beth wasn’t sure how that was even a possibility. She had never felt this close to anyone else and the sooner they figured this whole crazy mess out, the sooner they could get back to their lives. She just hoped that didn’t mean Reaper and her going their separate ways because she wasn’t sure she’d ever be able to forget the man who was quickly possessing her heart.

Elizabeth and Reaper stayed holed up in that little motel room for two full days and her only solace was how he kept her distracted with mind blowing orgasms most of that time. She couldn’t seem to get enough of him and judging from the way he was constantly touching her and telling her he needed
her—Reaper felt the same way about her.
By the end of the second day, Beth felt about ready to go crazy and when Reaper told her to get her stuff together because they were moving on, she wanted to childishly fist pump the air.
“Can I call Lyra too?” she asked. When she came clean with Reaper about her sister’s visions, he told her to hold off on contacting her sister. He said something about people in high places having ears and eyes everywhere in New Orleans. He wasn’t wrong. She was born and raised in NOLA and everyone knew everyone else’s business. Tourists came and went but if you were from there, you had no secrets. Reaper worried that her abilities might end up hurting both her and her sister if they became public knowledge. It wasn’t something that she really worried about—people finding out, but now that her sister was involved, she had to admit that opened a whole new can of worms. Sure, she had to deal with idiots treating her like a freak of nature when she was just a kid, but Beth didn’t worry about what people thought of her now.
“When we get out of town, I’ll pick you up a burner cell and you can call her from that,” he said, tossing some of his clothes into his duffle bag.
“Burner cell?” she questioned.
“Yeah. It’s a pay as you go type deal. No one will be able to trace it back to us and that’s the way we need to play things right now,” he said.
“You really think that Lyra’s and my gift could hurt us? Is going to all this trouble necessary? Honestly, no one has probably linked you and me together so why would they even be looking at Lyra?” Reaper pulled his cell phone from his back pocket and flipped through until he found what he was looking for.
“This answer your question?” he asked. He held up his phone to show her a picture of the two of them together. They were in her car and he was driving. It was time stamped and dated for the day they met—a little over two days prior.
“What the hell?” she asked. “What is that? Where did you get a picture of us?”
Reaper pulled his phone back to study the picture himself. “What, you don’t like our first photo together? I think we look pretty good, given the fact that we had just met and you were basically saving my ass.”
“I did not save your ass,” she protested. “Well, unless you mean from the side of the road, then sure.” Reaper chuckled.
“Ringer sent this over. Apparently, his father has been looking for me. His guys found my bike on the side of the highway and I’m sure he’s capable of putting two and two together to come up with the explanation that I had to have been picked up from the side of the road. He has friends in high places and a lot of money. I figure he used his resources to have this picture of us pulled from a state highway cam.”
Reaper held out the phone to her again and pointed to her license tag. “I’m guessing he’s run your tags and knows exactly who you are and who your family is. My boss is nothing if not thorough and I’m betting he knows about your sister and your niece.”
“Oh my God,” Beth sobbed, raising a shaking hand to her mouth. “Do you think she’s in danger?”
“No,” he breathed. “Not yet and I plan on keeping it that way. We are heading back to NOLA. I sent a friend over to keep an eye on them until we get back to town. Your sister won’t even know he’s watching. As soon as it’s safe to call her, you can fill Lyra in and tell her to pack a few things for her and Delilah,” he said.
“Alright,” she whispered. “Thank you, Reaper,” she said.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against his body. “You never have to thank me for something like this, honey. I’ll do whatever I can to keep you and your family safe. You’re all in this because of me and my sister and I won’t let my asshole boss touch any of you.” Reaper gently kissed her lips and she could feel everything he wasn’t saying out loud, even if it might be too soon for him to mean any of it. She felt the same way about him and Beth didn’t care if it was all too soon. She was falling for Reaper and there was nothing she could do about it.
Reaper
They got back on the road and Reaper wasn’t sure what to do about the pictures that Ringer sent him earlier that morning. When he first saw them, he wanted to go off and do something stupid like drive back to NOLA and face his boss head on. But, he also knew his girl enough to know she would never allow him to go in alone and the idea of Lizzy tagging along changed his mind. They needed a plan and if he didn’t come up with one quickly, he’d be putting Lizzy, her sister and her niece into as much trouble as he and Sophie were currently in.
“Will we stop soon for the new cell phone?” Lizzy nervously asked. She had spent most of the car ride that morning, fidgeting and on edge. Reaper wished he could help her, but he also knew the only thing he could really do for her would be to find a way to let her speak with Lyra.
“Soon,” he promised. Although, he had no fucking idea where the next place they could stop was and he had to worry about someone following them. Before he packed Lizzy and their meager belongings into her car earlier that morning, Ringer called to give him an update. Anthony Sr. had men in the area and they had already been in touch with Ringer. He said they were asking him questions about Reaper’s whereabouts and he tried to put them off his trail. He still wasn’t sure if he could even trust Ringer, but as long as he had Sophie, Reaper didn’t really have a choice. He wouldn’t tell Lizzy this, but he was just as eager to get new cell phones so he could talk to Sophie. It was killing him not knowing who to believe when all he wanted to do was help his sister.
“What if she’s in danger?” Lizzy sobbed and it just about broke his damn heart in two.
“Hey, don’t do that to yourself, baby,” he crooned. Reaper reached for her hand and she pulled away from him. Her rejection stung and he pulled to the side of the road. “Lizzy,” he whispered. “Let me in.” He sounded like he was begging and maybe he was. Reaper had never met anyone quite like Lizzy. Sure, they seemed to have a physical connection but it went deeper than that. He was a part of her nightly dreams now and that thought was both terrifying and comforting to him. At first when it happened, he didn’t really believe that they were a part of the same dream. He thought his overly active libido was just conjuring Lizzy up for a hot wet dream, but nothing really happened and when they woke up, he realized that they had shared some psychic connection that went far beyond his understanding. Hell, Lizzy didn’t seem to understand them showing up in the same dream together and she had admitted to being a seer for quite some time.
“I’m scared,” she admitted. Reaper unbuckled her seatbelt and pulled her onto his lap, sandwiching her body between him and the steering wheel.
“I’m not going to let anything happen to you or your family,” he promised. He hoped like hell he wouldn’t have to break his promise because the thought of letting Lizzy down would destroy him. It was who he was—a protector and he made sure to take care of the people who meant something to him, always had and now that included Lizzy.
“You can’t make me that promise, Reaper,” she said. “I’m afraid that you are blocking my abilities and distracting me from seeing my sister. What if spending time with you in my dreams these past few nights has blocked me from seeing Lyra and Lil?” Her question had him reeling but he needed to tamp down his temper.
“Is that all I am to you? A distraction?” Reaper whispered. He couldn’t look at her for fear that he’d see the truth in her eyes and he might not like what she was about to tell him. He closed his eyes and felt like he was holding his damn breath, silently waiting Lizzy out for her answer. He felt her small hands framing either side of his face and her warm breath on his lips, just before he felt her mouth on his. She kissed him, taking him completely by surprise. He opened his eyes to find her dark brown gaze staring back at him after she broke their kiss and that’s when he saw her answer. How he had missed it before was beyond him. He probably wasn’t looking very hard or maybe he wasn’t ready to see it before but there it was. Lizzy loved him and he had to admit, no matter how crazy
it sounded, he felt the same way about her.
“No,” she said. “You were never a distraction for me, Reaper. I think I’ve been waiting my whole life for you and now that I’ve finally found you, I’m scared to death that I’m going to lose you. This is all happening so fast,” she whispered.
“Yes, it is,” he agreed. “That still doesn’t stop what’s going on between the two of us—how we are both feeling.” Reaper brushed back a strand of her long brown hair that had fallen into her eyes.
“How are we both feeling?” she questioned. He could hear her hesitation and worry and God, he wanted to take that fear away from her. He couldn’t give her anything but the honest truth—he owed her that much after she basically saved his ass. He wanted her to be with him and if that meant bearing his soul for the first time in his fucking life, he’d willingly do it.
“I’m in love with you, Lizzy,” he admitted. “I have no fucking idea how the hell this happened or when, but it’s the truth.” A small sob escaped Lizzy’s chest and he pulled her snug against his body. “Tell me you feel the same, please,” he begged, when she didn’t respond.
She buried her face into his neck and he could feel her breath hitch. “I do,” she finally admitted. “I’m in love with you, too,” she said. “But how can this be happening? We’ve known each other for a matter of days. Is this even possible?”
Reaper barked out his laugh. “Is any of this really possible? Hell, until just a few days ago, I didn’t even know what a seer was and now I’m holding one in my arms. If you would have told me that I’d be picked up on the side of the road by a woman who was sent to rescue me in her dreams and that we’d fall in love, I’d have told you you’re a fucking lunatic. But, here we are,” he said.
“Geeze- you almost sound as if you regret it all,” she teased.
