The Wrong Prince Charming
Page 12
His hands around me tightened, and they felt so wrong compared to Easton’s.
And more than anything, I hated that I felt that way.
I hated that he was going to fuck her even though I couldn’t stop thinking about Easton. It was fucked up. We were a spinning pair of hypocrites on the dance floor, but I didn’t care. I needed to know what he was thinking. I was dying to know.
“You’re not going to fuck Easton.” His face moved minutely closer to mine. “He’s not good enough for you, he’s too old for you, and I’m not going to let him take advantage of you.”
“For God’s sake, what do you think is going to happen? Do you think he’s going to lure me into his dungeon and never let me out? You live in the same house for crying out loud.”
He didn’t listen to a word I said because he didn’t care.
“He’s your TA, Maddison.” He called me my full first name for the first time in so long that I forgot what it sounded like coming from his mouth. “He’s not allowed to be with you.”
“Don’t you want me to be happy?” I whispered the words I was afraid to ask. I was worried that Theo just wanted us to stay the same. But I couldn’t be the girl who was there for him through everything when he wasn’t willing to do the same for me.
“Of course, I do.” He pulled me tighter against him still. “But not with him.”
I planted my feet into the floor and stopped our dance in its tracks. “What do you want from me?”
“Nothing.” He said the word I had been dreading for half my life, but the burn wasn’t nearly as strong as I had expected. “I just need to protect you.”
His fingers reached out and touched my earlobe, the earring he bought me feeling like a brand in his hands. “We’ve been protecting each other for almost half our lives.”
“I don’t need you to protect me anymore.” I shook my head.
“You do.” He looked over my shoulder before he gently turned my face in the same direction. Easton was leaning against the wall toward the back of the room and beside him stood a tall, gorgeous girl who looked like everything I wasn’t. She was older than me and far more composed, and I wanted to rip every piece of hair out of her head as she laughed at something Easton was saying. “Easton’s a player, Maddy. I live with the guy. You don’t think I’ve seen what he does to girls? That I haven’t had to listen to them cry when he breaks their hearts? I won’t let him do that to you.”
I didn’t know what to believe. I didn’t think Easton was capable of the things Theo was saying, but Theo had never lied to me before. He had no reason to lie to me, and I was a fucking fool.
I watched as the girl laid her hand on Easton’s arm, and I silently begged him to push her away. Or to look at me. One simple look and I wouldn’t have given two shits what Theo was saying to me, but he didn’t do either. Instead, he turned closer to her as they spoke, and I took a deep breath to steady myself and my crumbling, stupid heart.
Seventeen
I went back to the frat house with Theo like a complete idiot. There was a party happening of course, which I had no interest in, but I wanted to see Easton’s face when he walked in the door. I wanted to confront him. I wanted to make him feel as small as I did now.
Easton: Where are you?
I read his text message over and over before I finally replied.
I’m with Theo.
His next message was immediate and playful, and I wanted to smack him through my phone.
Easton: I wanted to dance with you again. I can’t get how you looked out of my head. Can I see you tonight?
Even though those simple words made me crave what he said, I knew that falling for Easton Cole was the worst possible idea I had ever come up with. Because he had the power to break me, and I wasn’t in the mood to be broken.
I’m staying with Theo.
I looked up from my phone as Theo laughed at something someone said, but my phone buzzed in my hand within seconds.
Easton: What happened?
I hated that he already knew me so well, that he could pick up that something was wrong with me over the phone when Theo hadn’t been able to sitting right beside me.
Theo told me.
About what you do. About how you play girls. I can’t believe you.
I wasn’t in the mood to fuck around. I wanted him to know that I knew. I wanted him to feel exactly like I felt even though I knew he wouldn’t.
Because Theo told me in the car ride back to the dorm that I was just another girl to Easton. It was why he had originally warned me away from him. It was why he didn’t want me near him.
Easton: What are you talking about?
Easton: Where are you?
Easton: I need to see you.
His text messages came one after another in a rapid succession, and I hated that my heart ached at his words.
Find another girl, Easton. I’m staying with Theo.
Theo nudged my shoulder and I forced a smile as I looked up at him. We were both still in our dressy outfits from the formal, everyone at the party was, and the dress suddenly felt wrong against my skin. When I had bought it, I was thinking about Easton. I was trying to imagine what his reaction would be when he saw me, when his hands touched the silky fabric, but now I hated that I had bought this dress for him.
Easton: Theo is a joke. He just wants to keep you in the friend zone where he can lead you on for as long as he can.
I struggled to inhale as I read his words.
Fuck you.
My phone buzzed in my hand again, but I turned it off before I could read it. I didn’t care what else Easton had to say. He had already hurt me enough, and I wasn’t going to be his punching bag. I grabbed a cup from the table in front of me along with a brown bottle of liquor and I poured myself three fingers of whiskey before I set the bottle back on the table. Theo was watching me like he wanted to say something, like he wanted to stop me, but I didn’t care.
He was just as bad as Easton.
Neither of them cared about me—not in the way that I cared about them, and I was tired of listening to stupid boys telling me what I should do.
“I’m going to grab you a Coke to go with that,” Theo said as he stood, but I lifted it to my mouth and let the whiskey burn my throat as I emptied the cup.
Theo set the soda down in front of me, as I started pouring more liquor, and I dared him with my eyes to say something to me. I was raring for a fight. I was begging for it, but he simply took his seat next to me and watched as I threw back more whiskey than I had ever had in my life.
I watched the people around me. The happy couples. The flirting. The guys obsessively talking about football.
These people felt like gods of this school, and I guess they were. But in reality, none of this mattered. I knew that. I knew how trivial all of this seemed, but I still couldn’t seem to bury that sinking feeling in my stomach with enough whiskey.
My nose was tingling by the time I finally saw Easton walk through the door. He was alone, the girl from the formal nowhere in sight, and his gaze was laser-focused on me.
I couldn’t tell if he was upset or angry as I lifted the whiskey to my lips again, but I knew with one hundred percent certainty that I didn’t want to care.
He took a step toward me, and I turned away from him and searched out Theo at my side. Even if I felt pissed at him too, he was safe. He had been my safety for as long as I could remember.
And even though I didn’t know this Theo like my Theo, I knew that he had never let me down before.
He wrapped his arm around my waist as I pressed against his side, and I tried my best not to look over at Easton as he stood across from us. He started talking with some of the guys around him, his gaze moving to me every few seconds, and I felt unsteady on my feet. Whether it was from him or the whiskey, I wasn’t sure.
Theo’s hand tightened around my waist when he noticed him, and I was thankful for the support.
“Theo.” Easton smiled in Theo’s direction
. “Where’s your girl at tonight? That one you’ve been keeping us all awake with lately.”
All the guys around the group laughed, and I physically recoiled in Theo’s touch. But he held firm.
“I’m sure she’s around here somewhere,” Theo said without hesitation before cocking his head to the side with a smirk on his face. “Where’s yours?”
The people around us seemed to notice the tension for the first time because the conversations around us came to a stop and everyone was looking between Theo and Easton.
“I don’t have one anymore.” His eyes finally aimed in my direction, if only for a second, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. “You think you can loan me one of yours for the night?”
I hated his words. I hated how everyone chuckled again like it was the funniest thing in the world to discuss sharing women.
“I’m sure you can find someone around here.” Theo chuckled. “But I’m not into sharing.” He pulled me farther into his side. “You’ll have to find someone who isn’t already mine.”
I didn’t look up at Easton to see his reaction. Instead, I stared at the bottle of whiskey I left on the table and prayed that the large amount that I had already drunk would make me forget this night all together. With every breath that I inhaled, I could feel the pain taking over my chest. It crept through my body, like oxygen in my blood, and I knew everyone could see it. My heartbreak felt as much a part of me as anything else.
But then Easton laughed, a laugh that was filled with anything but joy, and he grabbed the hand of a blonde who stood right behind him before whispering in her ear. She laughed at whatever he said, and I hated him in that moment. He pointed down at her as he stared at Theo. “This one okay?”
Everyone laughed again including Theo as Easton walked off hand in hand with the girl, and I could feel the whiskey and lack of food in my stomach crawling up my throat.
I didn’t realize the power Easton had over me until that moment. He was destroying me, not just the version of me that I was when I met him, but that ounce of braveness that he had instilled in me to be who I truly was, I could feel it crumbling.
I pushed away from Theo as soon as Easton rounded the stairs, and I pressed my hand against my stomach.
I was just tipsy enough to do something stupid, and I was pissed enough not to care.
I moved toward the stairs when Theo grabbed my hand in his and stopped me.
“Don’t.” There was so much judgment in his eyes as he shook his head.
I jerked my hand out of his without a word, and I climbed up the stairs that Easton had just taken moments before. His door was closed when I got upstairs, but I didn’t care. I turned the handle without pause, and I was surprised when it opened.
Easton was sitting on his bed, his hands behind him holding him up, and the girl was standing in front of him. He looked up at me as I closed the door behind me, and I hated the empty look in his eyes. This wasn’t the Easton I was falling for, this was someone else, and I knew that I didn’t like him.
“What are you doing here, Maddison?” He looked bored as he spoke to me. “Me and…” He hesitated as he looked up at her.
“Jemma.”
“Jemma and I were just about to have some fun. Unless you’re here to join us.” He smirked at me, his words hitting their mark. “That is what you told me, right? That’s what I do to girls.”
I knew he was teasing me, that he wanted me to hurt, but I wasn’t willing to give myself over to him that easily. I walked toward him, and even though he was being cruel, his gaze still ran over my body as if no one else was in the room. He wasn’t even looking at Jemma, but he was about to.
I stepped up behind her and pressed my breasts against her back as I looked at Easton over her shoulder. I didn’t drop his stare as I lowered my head and pressed my lips against her shoulder.
“Maddison.” He whispered my name, and I only let it fuel me.
I reached in front of Jemma and gently gripped her chin in my hand as I turned her face toward me. Her eyes were glazed over in lust, but I still silently asked her permission with mine. She nodded her head in my hand, just barely, and I licked my lips before pressing them to hers.
She wasn’t hesitant. Her lips opened as she slid her tongue against mine and her hand reached up and gripped my arm just below my elbow.
Kissing her was so different from kissing him. She was softer, her skin velvety against mine, and the smell of her perfume overwhelmed me.
I pulled away from her lips and drew a path with my lips to her neck. Her body shuddered beneath my touch, and I met Easton’s gaze as I ran my tongue just below her earlobe to drive her wild like he had once done to me.
She moaned, the softest little whimper, and I could see the proof of Easton’s arousal in the front of his pants. She reached behind her, searching for me, and I let her touch me as Easton watched. Her dress fell from her body with one simple zip, and Easton watched the fabric fall to the floor before looking back up at me.
My fingers grazed the swell of her breasts before pressing against her stomach. She took a deep breath before she turned to me and helped me out of my own dress. Her hand trailed down my spine as the fabric fell away and chill bumps broke out along my body. Easton sat up fully in the bed and pulled off his black jacket.
Jemma was rushed as her hands moved around my body, and I was shocked when she dipped her fingers below my black lace panties and pressed against my core. Easton was on me then. His lips touched mine as Jemma’s fingers began creating small circles against my clit, and he swallowed my whimpers of pleasure.
I felt overstimulated with him in front of me and her behind, but I didn’t want any of it to stop. Instead, I wrapped my arms around Easton’s shoulders and held on to him as waves of pleasure ran through my body.
“Easton.” I whispered his name as his hand cupped my breast over my bra.
“I’m here, baby.” His voice was soft, and his words were sweet, and for a second, I almost forgot what brought me to his room in the first place.
He unsnapped my bra, the lace falling to the floor, before his mouth left mine and traveled down my body. I audibly inhaled as he sucked my nipple into his mouth and Jemma sucked my earlobe in hers.
Easton continued down my body until he was on his knees in front of me, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him as he lowered my panties to the ground helping me step out of them with my heels still on while Jemma continued to work her fingers against my clit.
I was so turned on, so fucking wet, and I needed him to do something, anything, before I fell apart right before his eyes.
His hands skimmed up my thighs, making them tremble under his touch, and I almost died when he looked up at me. His dark hair was disheveled, his eyes burned with need, and he kept them on me as he leaned down and buried his tongue in my pussy.
“Oh God.” I gripped his head in my hands as his tongue moved over Jemma’s fingers, and she turned my face toward hers and caught my lips in another kiss.
I cried into her mouth as her fingers gently spread me apart and Easton sucked my clit into his mouth. It was too much. I didn’t want to come like this. I wanted Easton inside me. I didn’t know if this would be the last time I was with him like this, and I knew that I couldn’t walk out of this room until I felt him inside me at least one more time.
I pulled my mouth away from Jemma and looked down at Easton as he ate my pussy. “Please, Easton. I need you inside me.”
His teeth nipped against my flesh, and I began to feel unsteady as my knees began to shake. Easton stood, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, before wrapping that same hand around the back of my neck and kissing me like he was desperate.
I could taste myself on his lips, and I wondered if that was what Jemma would taste like. If she would be the same as me.
Easton helped me to the bed, my knees hitting the mattress right before the palms of my hands, and I heard the sound of his belt opening just as Jemma moved in front of me.
&n
bsp; She kissed me again just as I felt Easton run his cock through my wet pussy, teasing my clit, and I moaned against her when he finally pushed inside.
Jemma moved her body in front of mine, her pussy on full display in front of me, and I didn’t have a fucking clue what to do. I had never been with a girl, never even kissed one before tonight, but Easton sensed my hesitation and leaned his chest against my back so he could whisper in my ear.
“Just think about what I do to you.” He thrust inside me and my body moved forward an inch closer to hers. “Think about how I suck your clit into my mouth and how I fuck you with my fingers. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.” I looked over my shoulder at him, and his lips moved against mine as he spoke. “I can tell her to leave. This can just be me and you.”
I shook my head because I wasn’t ready for her to leave. Not only because I was curious what this would be like, but also because I wasn’t ready to be in this room alone with him. I wouldn’t be able to handle him alone. I wouldn’t survive him.
“Then just taste her,” he whispered.
I moved between her legs, and she watched as I ran my tongue against her soft lips before dipping inside to find her clit. Easton was thrusting behind me, driving me forward onto her as I tasted her, driving me insane with lust.
I flicked my tongue over her clit, eliciting a deep moan from her just before I sucked her clit into my mouth like Easton had done so many times to me.
Jemma cupped her breasts, rolling her nipples, and I felt her whole body tensing. I dropped to my elbow as I arched my back, opening myself up more to Easton while using my free hand to touch her.
My pussy clenched around him as I spread her open with my fingers, and Jemma pushed her legs apart as she stared at me with her lip between her teeth. I ran my tongue over her, before pushing a finger inside her, and Easton groaned long and loud behind me.
I stared up at Jemma as I ate her, and I could feel her orgasm climbing to the surface along with mine. Easton’s hand found my clit as he began to thrust harder, and I shuddered against Jemma’s pussy causing her to throw her head back with a moan.
