  Tanis laughed. “It’s the best news I could hope for Welland.”

I’ll explain later.” To Welland she said. “With Aikido I’ll not have to kill anyone, only disable them? If I’d been able to use it that night, it would have made Kathy’s job much easier.” I’d have killed the
m anyway, but they don’t have to know. She glanced at Kathy for confirmation.

  “Yes. Even so, you couldn’t help what you did that night Tanis. Let’s change the subject. I can see it’s upsetting you. Since the night in question, we’ve had no trouble in here. Welland has told me of Jake Blake’s threats, and the last thing we want in London is a gang war. Unless Jake takes it further my hands are as good as tied.” Kathy blushed and laughed, glancing at Tanis. Her recent memory of their last meeting still strong. “How…how have you been Tanis?”

  Tanis joined in Kathy’s merriment. “I am tied up with different things and feeling a little shagged out Kathy. Still, it’s expected in my line of work. I have a duty to my clients’ fantasies, whatever.”

  “Why don’t you make a missing person’s report to the police Tanis? Come down to the station, or the flat.” She sighed. “Hilary and I would be glad to take it from you.”

  Tanis smiled at Kathy. I bet you would, three prisoners are always better than one. “I’ll give her until Saturday to show. Before I report her missing Kathy. She’s told me she goes away as a travelling companion for up to two weeks at a time.”

  Welland noticed Diana’s quietness, reached over and took her by the hand. He pulled her towards him and kissed her on both cheeks. “I want you to believe Diana. All here are your friends. I owe Tanis big time for saving my life that night.”

  “Thank you Welland, I only did what others would have done in those circumstances.”

  “I doubt others could’ve done what you did Tanis. I want to thank you again for what you’ve done for Tara too. We’re going to start a family soon. Should we have a girl first, we’re thinking of naming her for you? If you and Tara want to go out together again, you have my blessing. Her happiness means everything to me.”
