Elenor nodded, trying for composure, some control through the rising tide of her own needs once more. “I’ll go.”
C heard his warrior approach some distance off. He wanted in the female. His cock was hard as rock but he would not expose her to another male and removed his hands. It was the last thing he wanted to do. C let her legs down gently, as he adjusted her clothing and stepped free of her embrace. Blocking the Cyborgs view of her.
C pulled back. More feeling flooded him. He checked his emotional chip and found it was still turned off. It flashed affirmative. He frowned. He had been driven by emotion just now. The need to give his female what she wanted, what he needed to do. It had been powerful, overwhelming his logic. Why did his systems not respond correctly? Once again, his systems seemed to fail him.
“See that you do.” He told her sharply not understanding what had just happened. It was sharper than he’d meant but he would not allow her to be compromised, before turning to meet his man halfway across the open ground and walking back with him into the dining room.
He’d been angry with her, a sob caught in her throat. The sharpness of his tongue a barb that hurt her. See that you do? Had he just ordered her to leave? Her mind replaying it all as she watched him go. She gritted her teeth to stop the tears from coming. He didn’t want her after all. Was this some game? Had she been easy pickings? Her chest constricted as memories of a youth saying just that about her surfaced from her teenage years. It had been uncalled for then and in retaliation for a slight she’d made. She’d never told anyone how much it had affected her. And her demons came back to plague her.
Elenor bit her lip to hold back her emotions. Cyborgs didn’t work like that, she was being irrational, and she knew it. This was what she'd wanted, right? To be away from him. To not be claimed. To be alone? Elenor stood there more confused than ever. She’d never known a bonding moment to not result in a mating. He had just blown her world apart, but just walked away, no backward glance. Was that what she really wanted? Had it meant nothing to him? She’d provoked him, had it just been a reflex of some kind for him? It didn’t sound right even to her and she was no Cyborg expert. Either way, she knew she couldn’t stay there any longer. She was in danger of giving him everything and where would that land her? NO! screamed across her mind. Picking up her skirts she ran to the barns where George was working, telling him she had to go and go now, apologizing. She wouldn’t be able to help Athena with the food for the troops, she was sorry but had no choice.
George had looked at her concerned and asked if everything was alright, but he didn’t argue with her. She’d asked for the loan of a horse and he’d agreed, saddling one up for her. In her haste, he asked about her belongings and she told him there was nothing she couldn’t collect another time. He handed her some water for the journey, asking what the urgency was. Elenor ignored him and mounted, taking the reins she walked the animal outside. George came with her telling her to wait until the morning at least. But Elenor couldn’t bear the thought of delaying even a moment longer. Being in the same place as …. him. She suddenly couldn’t stand it. All night here, together. It had disaster written all over it. No, she had to go and go now.
Not that she could tell him any of that. Elenor smiled and thanked him, telling him to apologize to Athena for her. That she was well and not to worry, then kicked the horse on for the main road. The thought that she had to get away, running wild around in her mind.
The moon bright in the sky lit the road clearly for her. She knew the way well and had no fear of traveling alone and realized she had a greater fear of staying than any attack on the road. As she reached the end of the farm track, she kicked the animal into a run and pushed on for home. Every minute further away, her chest felt lighter.

C finished his meal. It had been extremely good. The thought that the female had helped to cook it seemed important to him. He had no point of reference other than the data supplied by other mated Cyborgs. They enjoyed their females cooking for them and in turn, they enjoyed spending time making their females happy. C registered that he had wanted to service his female, give her want she wanted. What she needed. Was this what he was going through? What Kane had meant? She was a mate to him? His second leaned over.
“Communication from the patrol around the farm. The female has left with no guard escort.” He didn’t need to ask which one. The struggle within his mind and body became unbearable. He knew. He’d told her to go but, had not meant for her to do so in the dark. It wasn’t logical to go at night. It was risky. Could be dangerous. He had not been clear with her and she had acted irrationally! This was his fault. Unknown assailants were in the area and she’d gone anyway, because of him. Because he’d told her to go. Intense anger filled him as his knife bent under the pressure of his hand. She’d left him.
“Send her escort after her now.” His second glazed over giving the instructions.

“I don’t understand Elenor.” Her mother was standing in the kitchen pouring coffee. The real stuff thanks to the Cyborgs. They’d found a world that had the coffee beans. A shipment of the plants was due to arrive soon, so they would start to grow their own but, in the meantime,, they rejoiced in the chance to buy it. Elenor cleaned her plate, once again grateful that her mother’s mate wasn’t here. She had a scarf around her neck hiding the bite, even though it was another hot day. She knew he’d have seen the mark on her skin with the way their vision worked, they saw far more than just what was on the surface.
“Laura and I have talked about this for some time. I spoke with her earlier and you know she needs to go and see the Doctor at the Space Station, so I said I’d go with her. Kane’s going too. She’s been planning it for a while and since I’m back, I can go now too.”
“I know about her appointment with the Dr. Navarelli, I made it. But you just got back. What’s the rush? I’ve not seen you for months. This is not normal even for you Elenor.” She came forward and took her hands. “What’s wrong?”
Elenor shook her head, she wouldn’t cry. She smiled and shook her head. She didn’t want her mother worrying about her. “I’m fine really. This is a great opportunity I’ll get to see the universe around us. Who would have thought that a year ago? None of us.” Her mother didn’t look convinced. She let go of her hands and kissed her. “You know, I kinda expected to see your mate had moved in.” She told her cheekily trying to keep things light.
Her mother huffed. “He wished.” And they both laughed. It felt good to share the moment, the tension gone. Elenor breathed easier.
Her mother held her at arm’s length. “Be safe. I’ll see you off later. Do not go without me there.” She gave her a meaningful look. Elenor nodded and her mother was gone. Patients to see and work to be done.
She walked slowly upstairs to pack, not knowing if she would be back.

C looked out over the landscape. There was something about this world that sat well with him. Maybe it was the female? crossed his mind. He did not know. But the men in the group below him shouldn’t have been there and it was a reminder that he had a job to do. That this land, needed to be safe for all the females and the families that lived there. Both human and Cyborg.
The scope of his optic gave him a perfect view of them. Seeing better, further than human eyes could. Their ability to zoom in and focus, gave Cyborgs the advantage. Raiders, pirates. Whatever they were, they didn’t have permission to be landside. They’d moved in silently having found them before nightfall.
Several groups had been sent out on what appeared to be scouting missions from their base camp. They’d tried to hide their tracks, but they’d found them anyway. Information from their ship in orbit told him they’d come out from behind one of the inhabitable moons. One of several that orbited this world. To have gone undetected they would have had to be dormant on one of them for some time. Then used their cloak to get to the planet, until it had fluctuated and been picked up on their scanne
rs. Too late for Cyborgs to intercept before they’d descended. Scouting missions were now in operation on all those moons.
Images of the female continued to infiltrate his mind. His processors would quiet and the images of her in his arms, the taste of her on his tongue, would swarm and the vision of her soaked in the pleasure he’d given her, would spring to life. It interrupted his focus, his concentration was split and each cycle, it became harder to shift. He had to accept, he wanted those images. Wanted her taste. C pushed the images away once more and gave the order. It was time he cleaned this up and go after her.

Elenor had said a tearful goodbye to her mother. Her mate looking curiously at her, saying he would protect her mother with his life. Elenor had smiled, she knew he would. Then boarded the off-worlder with Laura, that would take them both to the Ship orbiting in space around their planet. It was one of several that were coming and going. The military ones, three of them guarded the planet from intruders. One on the borders of their space and two further out along the trading lanes.
To Elenor, it was all magical. Laura too had never seen space up close. Having arrived crated and put in stasis before it was off Old Earth. They were both mesmerized by its vastness and beauty. Each looking out the portals pointing things out to each other. Enjoying the excitement of being strapped in. Surprised by the lift motion and then, the planet peeling away and the openness of the universe before them. Everything looked vastly different from up here. They exchanged the off-worlder for the spaceship. Finding their accommodations and watching as the planet began to look so small compared to the universe around it. As she stowed her things, Elenor couldn’t help but be distracted by the view from her window.
He was down there, she thought. Memories of their time together bombarded her. His body surrounding her. The feel of him against her, how hard he’d been, his mouth on her breast. The sensation of his rubbing of her most sensitive of places, sharpening her senses. The sheer pleasure that had exploded from her, she would never forget. Never had she experienced something so devastatingly wonderful as that.
Her body ached, and her nipples hardened. It kept happening. She couldn’t shake it. She cupped her breasts under her clothes and circled her nipples. It gave her some ease, but it wasn’t enough. She needed more………. needed him? Elenor shook her head. Taking a seat, she lifted her skirts and slipped her hand inside her panties finding herself wet. Her finger finding her entrance she pushed in. It wasn’t like he'd felt to her, not nearly enough. She added another finger and pumped herself, her thumb finding her clit. She circled and flicked it. Moving her fingers faster and faster as she played with her breast, thinking of him. She felt the need arise in her again, the start of the wave moving through her body, building moment by moment. She fidgeted as images of his mouth on her flooded into her. His body rocking up against her and her climax crashed into her.
Holy shit. Elenor sat there panting holding on to and enjoying the aftershocks surfing through her. And as it dissipated she understood….. it still wasn’t enough. Damn it! A choked sob caught in her throat. What had she done? She’d ruined herself. Ruined …….. everything. The tears fell before she knew what was happening and racking sods assaulted her. Elenor clambered over to her bed and curled up on it, riding the emotional tide drowning her. What was wrong with her?
The alarm woke her for dinner, emotionally drained and exhausted. Her nerves frayed, she showered and changed and ran to meet Laura and Kane she didn’t want to be late, didn’t want to raise any suspicions or concerns. She continued to wear the scarf around her neck. It might be useless, but it made her feel better. She’d deliberately not brought the clothes she worn when ….. he was with her and scrubbed herself to raw, in an attempt to remove any of his scent.
Only once she’d got to the ship and been greeted by them, she wasn’t so sure it had worked. Cyborgs could sense things and Kane continued to look at her strangely. He looked contemplative, like he was trying to figure something out. Elenor was edgy all through her meal. Or that could have been her paranoia. She didn’t know but whatever it was, it was getting to her.
She knew just how good Cyborg vision was, just not sure how good Kane’s was. She knew some of them could see below the surface of things if they wanted. Could zero in on something without you even knowing it. Elenor swallowed feeling in her gut her rouse was up. Oblivious to her turmoil, Laura chatted excitedly about the adventure of going to the Space Station and Elenor tried to ignore her uncertainty and added bits to the conversation to keep it going. Becoming increasingly nervous under Kane’s attention.
Suddenly unable to stand it any longer she put her cup down on the table and cut through whatever it was that Laura was jabbering about. She looked directly at him. “What?”
Laura went quiet and looked from her to him and back again. Clearly not sure what was going on. Kane stared at Elenor.
He leant forward. “You carry the mark of a Cyborg bonding, but you have no mate with you and you try to hide it but not well enough. I’m wondering why you would do that having allowed a Cyborg male to bond with you. Then he lets you go before fucking you into next week and mating you. He would not let you out of his sight until the mating was satisfied. It is not logical and there is no mating scent on you?” Kane didn’t mince words. He never did. Elenor winced.
Laura squealed and hugged her, congratulating her. Elenor's eyes didn’t leave Kane’s face. He’d seen it anyway. She pulled the scarf free of her neck.
“It was a mistake,” she whispered. Laura stopped hugging her, looking at her with clear bewilderment in her face.
“Cyborgs do not make mistakes Elenor. Particularly those ones. We bond and fuck for life. You know this.” Kane told her calmly.
Elenor picked up her cup with shaky hands and took several pulls. He followed her actions with his eyes. She did know that! Damn it. Then looked back up at him coolly. “This one did.”

The fighting was over quickly. His teams moved in from each quadrant surrounding them in the dark. Going unseen, they took out their guards quickly rounding on the main encampment. In the end, it wasn’t much of a force. A ragtag bunch no real army. Several laid injured around the fire. He guessed from the crash they’d found further out. Others were sleeping when they should have been on guard. It was stupid and very poor judgment on a world where Cyborgs lived. Cyborgs that could see further in the dark without light, than humans could see in daylight. They didn’t stand a chance.
They never heard them coming. Until they stood amongst them, armed and demanding their surrender. Weapons were dropped, and hands were raised. They looked defeated without trying. His men rounded them up and called in the off-worlder. The mission a success. He’d stopped whatever they’d been attempting to do and he was getting positive feedback from his men. The captives talking easily. A damaged ship, no air, had to make a landing knowing it had little success.
C knew this victory was exactly what his men had needed. To feel Cyborg again. To be useful once more. He knew, because he did too. They waited and guarded for the sounds of the off-worlder approaching.
It didn’t take long for the engines to reach their ears. The interrogators would deal with these men. What crimes they had committed would be mapped in their DNA and their ships records if it could be salvaged. He knew their own confessions would condemn most of them. But that wasn’t his problem. His job was done. His troop would escort them into the off-worlder then they would return to the compound. He had someone he needed to see.

Laura dragged her to the side in the bar area of the ship as soon as Kane gave his apologies to go back to work. Even on this trip, he still commanded the unit on her world. Elenor sipped her drink. This ship now carried their fermented fruit juice. It was one of her favorites and she needed a bloody big drink. “You're mated?” Laura hissed.
Elenor had been expecting it. She shook her head. “No, like I said, it was a mistake.”
Laura looked incredibly at her. “Seriously you're going with that? To me?” She looked at her neck more closely. “Jeez, he didn’t mess about did he. That’s one hell of a bite if it isn’t real.” She told her curiously then looked back at her pissed. “Did he do that then say it was a mistake? Did he fuck you then fuck off?” Her hands went to her hips, Laura was in fighting mode. She was talking like he was human. He wasn’t.
Elenor quickly shook her head. Getting her upset was no good for the baby. They both knew Cyborgs didn’t act that way.
Elenor tried to suppress a smile. Her friend was fierce when it came to protecting people. “I ….challenged him, then provoked him.” She told her honestly and put her hand up to stop her interrupting. “Don’t ask me why, I don’t know. He was pushing my buttons and I got annoyed, he said something that pissed me off and I ….. pushed back. I knew better than to do it, to challenge an interested male when I could have just denied the attraction and shut him down, but I did it anyway. He’d shown interest before and I’d told him to move on. Then he’d come to me to tell me to leave the farm and things …… got a bit out of hand. Then he came back from tracking those invaders and ….. I was stupid.”
Laura looked at her with her mouth half open. Then checked herself. “So you’re telling me that you of all people …… knowing how it is with Cyborgs ……..tangled with him twice and challenged an interested male?” Elenor shrugged warily and nodded. “What did you say to him?”
