Will Turner's Luck
Page 2
As they walked out the door, Robby turned and looked at the number. “Two thirty-nine. Let’s remember that, and when we celebrate our anniversary, we can come back here and get the same room.”
Will knitted his eyebrows and thought Robby seemed to have everything planned out. Once they got to breakfast, Will decided he needed to get some information from his ‘boyfriend.’
“You’re pretty romantic for a cowboy,” Will joked.
“Only way to be if you’re in love.” Robby kissed Will on the cheek.
Will blushed and looked around the parking lot.
Robby laughed. “Relax, big guy.”
When Will had looked around to see if their open show of gay affection had been observed, he realized two things: his Jeep was not there, and he still didn’t know where he was exactly.
“Uh, how’d we get here?”
“We walked. I figured we were both too buzzed….well, in your case, drunk…to drive.” Robby poked Will in the ribs and continued, “We left your wheels at the bar. We walked here after you bought us our rings.”
Will wrinkled his brow.
“Guess there’s still stuff that I need fillin’ in on. We left your car there too, huh?”
“I don’t have one,” said Robby. “Maybe you could buy me one.” He laughed again. “Where do you want to go to eat?”
“Anywhere’s fine with me.”
“There’s a diner around the corner. And then there’s fast food places too.”
“You seem to know the area pretty well,” Will said. “Well, I’ve been here a few times before.”
“Oh?” Will replied,” “Well, let’s do that diner then.”
As they walked, some disquieting thoughts started to float through Will's head.
He needed to know just who Robby was, what was his perception of their relationship, and if their lack of protective sex was something to be concerned about. After all, if you were in love with someone, these were things you needed to know. Right?
The diner,Mary’s, was small, cozy and friendly. It was late morning, so it was relatively empty as the breakfast crowd had left and the lunch patrons hadn’t arrived yet. Robby walked in as if he owned the place and sat down at a booth. A waitress, who could have been very pretty at one time in her life, came over. She filled both the pre-set coffee mugs without asking.
“Hiya, handsome,” she said to Robby. “Who’s your new friend?”
Newfriend?Will thought.
“Liz, this is Will. Will, Liz.” The latter wasn't necessary as Liz wore a name tag that had given Will the information already.
“Hi,” Will said with a smile.
“Hiya, Will. Man, Robby, this one’s the best of the bunch so far. So handsome and strong lookin’, and more mature, too.”
Will’s heart rate picked up.
“Yeah, he is,” said the younger man with a smile that had love written all over it. “He’s the one, Liz. He’s the one.” Robby took Will's hands in his.
Once again Will looked around to see if they were being observed. His paranoid search was interrupted by Liz’s next comment.
“Heck, that’s what you said about that Bart guy and… what was the other one’s name? Max?”
“No, no, Liz, it isn’t like that this time. We got rings and everything.” Robby held up his hand to show Liz his ring and then pointed to Will’s.
She laughed. “Ain’t that special then…rings and ever’thin’. Well, what’ll it be, gents?”
“We’ll take the big breakfast special,” Robby ordered without checking with Will.
“Two Big B’s comin’ right up.”
“Bart? Max?” Will stammered out. He was really panicky now. Who were these other guys? “Robby, we really gotta talk.”
“Yeah, we got a lot to clear up here.”
“Yes, sir, we do.” Will was relieved to see that some of his questions and concerns were about to be addressed.
“First is where we gonna live? You got a place?”
Will just stared with his mouth open.
Robby reached over, picked up Will’s hand and kissed it. Then he picked up his mug of coffee. “To us,” he toasted. “To us.”
Chapter 3
Once again Will felt confused. He had hoped he would be getting some information on Bart and…um…Max and now the subject of living arrangements had jumped to the forefront of the conversation. Will sat motionless.
“Hey,” Robby interjected, “Uh, to us? Right?”
“Oh, sorry.” Will picked up his cup and clinked it against Robby’s. “To us.”
Robby and Will took sips of the hot coffee.
“That’ll do till we can do it properly with champagne.” Robby smiled his beautiful smile across the table and Will’s heart melted.
Just as Will was going to try once more to get some information out of his new found love, Liz returned with their order.
‘Here ya go, gents, two Big Breakfast Specials. Anything else ya need?”
“Not right now, Liz,” Robby replied. “We were just talkin’ about where we were gonna live.”
‘How about at your place like you did with Bart…or was it Max?”
“That was Sam. And that didn’t work at all.”
Will choked on his scrambled eggs. Liz pounded him on the back, and Robby handed him a glass of orange juice.
“You okay, honey?” the waitress asked between thumps.
“Yeah…” Will coughed, “Yeah.”
“You sure?” Robby asked with sincere concern. “I don’t want to lose you.”
“No, really,” Will coughed once more, “I’m fine.”
Once Will had assured her he wasn’t going to expire from choking on the food, Liz went off to take care of some new customers.
“Man, that scared the pants off me.” Robby took Will’s hands in his.
With a glance at the newcomers, Will subtly removed his hands from Robby’s.
“Robby, we gotta discuss some things.”
“Yes, sir. Now, my place is not that big. It’s an apartment and…”
“No, not the living arrangements, at least not yet— what about you, Bart, Max, and Sam?”
“Okay, I guess that’s fair.” Robby replied. “You told me all about Kelly and the divorce and all. So, it’s only fair that you know about my life.”
Finally,Will thought.
“Well, let’s see.”
As Robby told his tale of trying to find love and the perfect mate, he stroked Will’s leg with his under the table. Will felt himself growing hard. He found it really difficult to concentrate on the details of what the younger man was telling him. Flashes of the previous night kept playing themselves in his mind.
When Robby got to “…so that brings me about up to where I met you,” Will realized he hardly knew more now than before the explanation had begun. About all he got out of it was that this guy really wanted to settle down with one man, and until the right one came along, he would keep looking. Will wondered just what Robby’s criteria were.
When they had finished their meal, Liz returned to refill their coffee mugs and drop off the check. She placed the bill on Will’s side of the table.
“Anythin’ else ya’ll need?”
“No, Liz, we’re fine,” Robby said. Will nodded.
“Well, then, congratulations, you two. And good luck.” Liz walked off.
“Ready?” Robby asked.
“Sure,” Will replied.
Since Robby made no effort to pick up the check, Will did and followed Robby to the cash register. Will paid the girl behind the counter while Robby dialed out two toothpicks and handed one to him.
“Oh, you forgot a tip for Liz.”
Will took a deep breath, walked back and placed a couple of bucks on the table.
As they walked out of the diner, Robby placed his arm around Will’s waist. With the other arm he picked up Will’s, draping it across his shoulders. Will tensed.
“We don’t have to check out until
noon. It’s only ten.” Robby squeezed Will’s waist and looked up into his eyes.
Uncomfortable as he was, Will felt himself respond to the invitation to return to the motel. He needed to figure out what was going on. Was this really love that he was feeling, or just the pent up need from ten years of repression and deprivation? Once more the influence of the ‘smaller head’ in his pants overcame the more rational thoughts of the larger one on his shoulders, and he let the questions go.
“I’m right with ya,” Will said with a smile.
Will’s smile caused Robby to reach down and squeeze the larger man’s buns. Will blushed, but didn’t protest.
No sooner had the pair entered their room when Robby turned and wrapped his arms around Will. He looked into Will’s eyes. Will saw nothing in those blue eyes except love and a certain innocence. For the present, his concerns were put aside and he pulled Robby into a kiss.
For the next hour the two men held each other’s naked bodies. The sex was soft and slow once more. The extreme passion of the previous night and morning had been replaced with the kind that fulfilled emotional needs rather than strictly physical ones. They both climaxed with their arms wrapped tightly around each other, lips pressed together and cocks trapped between muscular abdomens.
Later, as they drove toward Robby’s apartment in Will’s Jeep, having retrieved it from theRound-Up’sparking lot, Robby continued the earlier conversation about living arrangements.
“So, like I was saying, I live in an apartment with two other guys. They’re lovers, or partners or whatever, and they have the one bedroom. There’s a living room and a kitchen with a kind of dining room. I sleep on a pull-out sofa bed. When I was there with Sam it was sort of like we were all in the same place at the same time…you know what I mean?”
Will nodded.
“What about you? Where do you live?”
Will took a deep breath. “I live in a ranch. It has three small bedrooms and…”
“We’re only gonna need one,” Robby said, leaning over, squeezing the man’s thigh and giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Will sort of softly snorted and laughed at the same time. “Well, it’s a nice little place. Kelly and I really liked…” He trailed off. He didn’t know whether he wanted to bring Kelly into this particular conversation.
“Sounds perfect,” Robby commented. “You want me to bring my stuff today?”
Will took a deep breath. “Robby, my divorce was just final yesterday. And, I know that I’m eventually…”
Robby looked crestfallen.
“No, no, don’t get me wrong. I love what we have right now.”
Robby brightened.
“But I was thinkin’ it would take a bit more time. I mean…like I’d meet someone, we’d get to know each other, we maybe sleep together and then kinda slow-like make the decision to…”
“I went too fast for you?”
“Well, yes and no.” Will tried to explain something that he didn’t fully understand himself. “I really feel like I love you… no…it’s more than that…I think I’m in love with you…but…”
Robby’s killer smile was in full force. He leaned over and kissed Will full on the mouth, causing the older man to almost lose control of the vehicle.
Robby pulled away with a laugh.
Will continued. “But, before you move in could we… well…date?”
“Cowboy, if that’s what you want…that’s what you get. Turn here. We’re comin’ up to my street.” Robby indicated the drive. “You want to come up and meet Todd and Jeff?”
“No, not this time. Maybe another time.”
“Okay.” Robby looked disappointed and a bit apprehensive. “Will I see you tomorrow?”
“Yes, I’d like that.”
“Okay then.” Robby leaned over and kissed Will with a kiss so full of love and passion that he almost relented and agreed to meet his roommates.
He left Robby’s image waving in his rear view mirror as he pulled away and headed home.
Will felt a sense of loss and sadness as the figure of the man whom he had met less than twenty-four hours ago faded into the background and disappeared as he turned the corner. Was he being silly to insist that they get to know each other better before they moved in together? Hell, he didn’t even know what the guy did for a living or if he did anything for a living. Will had paid for the meal, maybe the motel and rings. He couldn’t remember. Did that make a difference?
That evening Will aimlessly wandered around the house. He tried to watch the college football games on TV. He couldn’t focus. He felt horny, lonely, happy and sad all at the same time.
“Shit,” he said out loud.I’ll just call him and talk to him. I miss him.
He reached for the phone.
“Fuck!” Will didn’t have Robby’s number. He didn’t even remember his last name.Had Robby told me his last name?
He gave up trying to remember, washed his face and brushed his teeth. He hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast, but the only hunger he felt was to hear, see, and touch this man who had turned his life upside-down.
Naked, Will crawled into bed. He lay on his back propped against the headboard and slowly began to stroke his hardening cock as memories of recent events passed through his mind. He had just achieved a full, dripping erection and was beginning to get into his fantasy when the phone rang, causing him to jump and his already throbbing heart to skip a beat.
He looked at the caller ID. “Private Caller. Number unknown.”God, those fuckin’telemarketers. It’s fuckin’ Saturday night. He let it ring and went back to his stroking.
The answering machine clicked in.
“Hi. This is Will. Kelly doesn’t live here anymore. If you want her, call 555-2870. If you want me, leave your name and number and I’ll call you.”
The machine beeped.
“Will, this is Robby. Pick up, man! I love you so much, I can’t stand not to talk to you. So, if you’re there…”
Will nearly fell on the floor reaching to grab the phone. “Robby!” Will shouted into the receiver. Chapter 4
“Robby, my God, Robby,” Will cried into the phone. “Man, I’m so glad you called. I was gonna call you but I didn’t have your number. How’d ya find me?”
“Phone book,” Robby laughed. “Did you know that there’re forty-two Will Turner’s in the Dallas area, and you’re number thirty-eight?”
“You called all of them?” Will said in disbelief.
“Yes, sir. Some of them weren’t too happy to be told that I loved ‘em and missed ‘em.”
They both laughed.
“And some of ‘em got some explaining to do to their wives.”
They laughed again, louder.
“When I heard your machine talk about Kelly then I knew I’d found you.”
“Robby, I’m comin’ to get you. I need to be with you tonight. I just miss you so much. I wanna sleep with you and remember it this time. I’ll be right over.”
“No,” was Robby’s reply.
Will was shocked. He couldn’t wrap his mind or heart around the apparent refusal. “But why?”
Because it’ll take too long if you come here and then we drive all the way back there. I’ll take a cab to your place.”
Relieved, Will said, “Okay. You got the address?”
“Book says 915 Heritage Court, Keller. That right?”
“Yep, but you sure you don’t want…”
“This’ll be faster. I want to be with you as quickly as I can. I need you, Will!”
They hung up. Will immediately headed for the bathroom, shaved and hopped in the shower. Finishing, he slipped on a pair of sweats: ones that accentuated his package and clung to his butt. He checked himself out in his bedroom mirror.
Shit, he’s already seen all this. Why’m I gettin’all seductive about it?
Ignoring his thoughts, he brushed his hair and then raced frantically around the house trying to undo a couple of months of sloth since Kelly had moved out.
/>
“No use,” Will said out loud. “If he loves me like he says he does, then he’ll just have to take me the way I am.”
On the front room wall he saw the reflection of the headlights of a car pulling into the drive. He ran out the front door shirtless and barefoot.
Robby jumped out of the cab and ran into his arms. Will hesitated only a couple of seconds before he surrendered himself to Robby’s hugs and kisses. Somehow he was beginning not to care if God and his neighbors saw him loving his man.
“Okay, okay, if you two queens are done sayin’ howdy, you owe me $17.50,” the cabby called through the window. Will felt himself blush.
“I’m sorry, Will. I rushed out without my wallet. Could you...?”
“Uh…yeah, sure.” Will ran back into the house and found his wallet on the counter in the kitchen.
This guy never seems to have the cash to pay his… He stopped the thought in mid-synapse. He wouldn’t go there. Not now.
Back outside he leaned toward the window to pay the driver. Robby was standing next to the cab with a couple of things on hangers and a small backpack. Will handed the driver a twenty and a five.
“Thanks, bud,” the cabby said. “Mind tellin’ me how it works with you guys? I mean, what do ya do?”
Will felt hot all over.
“Just like with a woman,” Robby called over Will’s shoulder. He had evidently heard the man’s question. “Except you use the other hole.” He laughed.
“Dang, I’m gonna have ta think about that one. Ya’ll have a good time then,” said the cabbie before pulling his cab out of the drive.
Will took a deep breath. “Come on,” he said. Then, with some resolve, he put his arm around Robby’s waist and walked him to the door.
Once inside, Robby dropped the things he was carrying and pulled Will into his arms. He whimpered into Will’s mouth as their lips and tongues met. Will felt Robby’s strength as his arms wrapped around his body. He was in a vice grip but he didn’t care. All Will wanted, needed, was to be merged with, welded to, this man. If he died right now from lack of oxygen he wouldn’t regret it for one eternal moment.
“Oh, Will,” Robby moaned. “I just couldn’t be without you. I was so afraid you wouldn’t want me to come over.”
