Angels on Top

“And you will end up in his pants.”
Angelo shrugged. “That wasn’t what I was aiming for.” “But you are going to use it to your advantage now, aren’t you?”
Angelo shrugged again. They remained quiet as they walked in and sat at a table in the food court. “So what do you suggest?” Angelo coughed and looked around to see if anyone was listening. “I mean, now that I want to get into his pants.”
“Oh honey, don’t worry about a thing. That’s what I am here for.”

Hunter knew that his boyfriend was up to something, Clay was just way too happy.
“What has got your happy on, babe?” Clay shrugged as he came and sat on Hunter’s lap. “Christmas is only a couple of days away. Isn’t that enough to be happy about?”
Hunter smiled as Clay leant over and kissed him. “It’s been weeks since we met?” “Uh-huh.” Clay wrapped his arm around Hunter’s neck. “We are going to make this work right? I mean us.” “What are you talking about?”
“I want you to move in with us, with me.” He felt Clay freeze in his lap. “Have you been talking to Marlowe?” Clays voice come out sounding cool.
Hunter shook his head. “Someone called Katrina phoned this morning. You were in the shower. When you didn’t answer your cell she rang our house phone. She wanted to know when you were coming around to pick up the rest of your gear.” He brushed his knuckles along the edge of Clay’s jaw. “Why didn’t you tell me, babe?”
Tears came to Clay’s eyes. Hunter held tight as Clay tried to get off his lap. “This is my problem. I didn’t want you to have to bail me out.”
“But you’re falling in love me, yeah?” Hunter asked
Clay nodded. “Yeah.”
“Good, then we will go and get your stuff and bring it home.” He pulled Clay down into a kiss. “Next time just tell me when you need something. Your flatmate is a dick.” He kissed Clay again. “In case you are wondering, I love you too.”
“Thank you,” Clay whispered against his neck.
“Come on, let me see that pretty smile again,” Hunter caressed the back of his neck, “or maybe we can go and get funky in the shower.”
Clay giggled. “You, all wet and slick, I am so there.”
“You’ve been pretty chummy with Angelo lately.” Hunter kissed down his neck as the shower heated. “What are you two up to?”
“I’m just helping him with a little project.”
“You know you can’t claim the money if you help him.”
Clay snorted. “Those two are so bad that they need a helping hand.” Clay groaned as Hunter’s hands ran over his body. Hunter liked that he could affect Clay like that. “They have…I should say Angelo has...something good planned for tonight.”

It was Christmas Eve and Angelo was nervous as he waited. He just hoped that Clay had come through for him. It felt scary as fuck when he admitted out loud his feelings for Marlowe to someone else. Thinking of Marlowe brought a smile to his face and made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He looked up as the café door opened and Marlowe walked in. His heart lurched in his chest at the frown Marlowe wore.
“What do you want, Angelo? Clay said you needed to talk to me.” He stood at the side of the table.
“Sit down, Silver,” Angelo gestured to the other side of the table, “please.”
Marlowe’s frown deepened as he sat, his arms crossed over his chest. “Silver, I just wanted to let you know that my parents are no longer a threat. Dimmy got me a message via a friend of his. Rachel’s family decided against the wedding.” he smiled at Marlowe. “Turns out she didn’t want to get married to me either. Her parents were more understanding. I am just back to being disowned.”
“You could have told me this at home, you didn’t need me to come all the way down here.”
Angelo shrugged. “Yeah I know, but I just wanted to talk without everyone around. I want our friendship back. You are my best friend, Silver. I just don’t want to lose that.” Taking a deep breath he held his hand out to Marlowe and smiled. “Hi, my name is Angelo Linford…and you are?”
Marlowe stared at the hand for such a long time that at first Angelo thought he was going to ignore it. He knew he was winning when a smile tugged at the corner of Marlowe’s mouth before he took a hold.
“You are such a wanker.” Marlowe grinned as they shook.
Chapter Eight
Christmas day dawned and Marlowe for once was the first person awake. Since Clay had moved in this was getting to be the norm. He smiled as he started making breakfast for them all; Dex, Gene, and Angelo would be coming over soon, and he wanted to have everything ready so that he wasn’t cooking when they got here.
He smiled as he thought back over that last week; Angelo had done everything possible to get their friendship back on track, and as much as it still gave him heartache over wanting something that he couldn’t have, he had decided that if this was as good as it got, then he wouldn’t complain. Friendship was better than nothing.
Marlowe had just popped the loaf of bread in the oven when a set of arms slid around him from behind. He jumped as a set of lips caressed the side of his throat.
“Merry Christmas, Silver.”
Marlowe turned and stared at Angelo in shock. “Who are you and what have you done with my best friend?”
Angelo grinned and held up the piece of mistletoe he had only moments ago used when he had kissed him. “Wanker.” Marlowe chuckled as Angelo held the mistletoe above his own head while pointing at his cheek. He stayed there, finger on his cheek, pouting until Marlowe stood on his tiptoes. Just as his lips were about to touch his cheek, Angelo turned and captured his mouth in a searing kiss. Marlowe’s arms came up and wrapped themselves around Angelo’s neck.
“Oh my God!” Marlowe and Angelo broke apart at as the kitchen suddenly filled with the others. Gene, Dex, and Hunter all had stunned expressions on their faces while Clay had the biggest grin on his own.
“I call bullshit on this,” Dex said as she grabbed coffee cups from the cupboard.
“On what?” Marlowe blushed at being caught out. He moved away from Angelo and began stirring the eggs.
“I lost twenty bucks because you caved in.” Marlowe stopped stirring and turned and stared at them all. “You bet on us…and all we were worth was twenty dollars,” Marlowe exclaimed in shock.
“Well I did win sixty.” Clay beamed.
“Yeah, but you helped them,” Hunter retorted.
“Uh-uh, all I did was tell Marlowe that Angelo needed to talk to him at the café. I never helped him any other way, so this money is mine fair and square.” He danced back out of the way as Hunter went to grab him.
“Are they even together? I am not paying up until I know for certain that they are a couple,.” Dex declared.
Clay beamed. “Look at them, they are obviously a couple. They were kissing – I swear I even saw tongue.” Everyone turned to Marlowe and Angelo looking for confirmation. “Should they pay Clay?” Angelo asked and all Marlowe could do was nod. He still quite couldn’t believe that this was real. But whatever this was he was holding on for dear life and not letting go.
Marlowe couldn’t keep from blushing every time he looked at Angelo during breakfast. It felt like Angelo’s eyes were burning into him. If the others noticed they never said anything.
They did the dishes together, and once the kitchen was spick and span they went into the living room and opened presents. Marlowe sang along to the carols that played on the stereo. He blushed as Angelo kissed his cheek and thanked him for the books, CDs, and new wallet.
“How did you know that I hadn’t bought a new one?” He chuckled and they both remembered the day they had gone into Brisbane and he had dropped it over the side of the Riverboat Queen.
Marlowe’s heart rushed as Angelo leaned into him. He wanted desperately to know what was happening, but didn’t want to break the spell in case Angelo went back to being the Angelo he
had always known. He felt Angelo’s breath against his face as his eyes closed in anticipation of the kiss he knew was coming. He was surprised when Angelo pulled away and stood up. Shock clearly on his face. He didn’t say a thing as he turned and fled the room.
“What the hell?” Hunter asked. “Are you okay?” Marlowe blinked to stop the tears. He should have known that it was too good to be true. He smiled at his cousin. “I’m fine.” He stood up; he needed a moment alone just so he could pull himself together. “I’ll be back in a minute.”
He hadn’t even made it to his bedroom door when he heard Angelo call his name and Hunter swear at the same time. “Fuck me drunk, didn’t we already agree that we weren’t getting a dog?” Hunter complained.
“Merry Christmas, Silver,” Angelo said as he passed the wiggling puppy to Marlowe. “You got me a puppy.” Marlowe grinned as he sat on the floor and scratched the little biting bundle. The puppy was chewing on his fingers.
“He’s house trained, give or take a few accidents.” “I bought him the cutest dog house for when he is outside.” Clay beamed. “It is covered in bling. He is just going to love it.” “What are you going to call him, Silver?”
“Droogie,” Marlowe said as he picked up the puppy. “Come on baby, let’s take you outside and play.”

Marlowe was still smiling that night as he got into bed. Hunter had relented and let Droogie sleep in the laundry. The poor little thing was worn out and had soon fallen asleep.
The day’s events ran through his head and kept him awake. He could still hear the others out in the lounge room drinking and watching bad Christmas movies. Angelo had left earlier when his brother called, and Marlowe didn’t feel like being the fifth wheel with two couples.
His skin tingled from the amount of times Angelo had found reasons to touch him during the day. He still wasn’t sure what was going on within Angelo’s mind, but he was going to enjoy it while it lasted.
Marlowe turned towards the door as it opened. He knew that he must have looked surprised as Angelo walked into his bedroom. His mouth went dry as Angelo stripped off and climbed into the bed beside him.
“What? Did you think you could sneak off to bed without me?”
Marlowe held his breath as Angelo pulled him into his arms. He trembled as Angelo explored the depths of his mouth. “I thought you weren’t gay?” Marlowe whispered. “I thought what was said in the kitchen this morning was just a joke.”
“I want you, so I guess that makes me gay.”
Marlowe shuddered as Angelo’s hands skimmed over his body. His body responded as Angelo’s fingers ran the length of his hard cock.
“I want to love you, Silver. I want to make love to you again. But most of all I want you to love me back.” Marlowe wanted to believe him. He knew that he already loved Angelo. Loved him more than was good for Marlowe’s heart, but what if he changed his mind again?
“I want you to make love to me like I did to you the last time we were in this bed together,” Angelo whispered against his lips. “Okay…Wait? What?” Marlowe pushed at his chest. Angelo blushed. “The last time we were here I fucked you through the mattress.” He grabbed Marlowe’s hands and brought them around to his arse until Marlowe’s finger tips entered his crease and ran across his hole and discovered the plug nestled there. “This time I want you to do that to me.”
Reaching over the edge of the bed, he snagged his jeans and pulled out lube and condoms. Marlowe laid there stunned as Angelo opened the condom and rolled it down Marlowe’s hard length, moaning as Angelo applied lube to his cock. When he had Marlowe well lubed he reached around and groaned as he pulled out the plug that had been nestled in his arse preparing the way for Marlowe.
“Angelo.” Marlowe couldn’t believe what was happening, his eyes flew open as Angelo impaled himself until Marlowe was balls deep inside him. “Are you sure about this – I have never…”
Angelo grinned. “Baby, it’s Christmas. And everyone knows that at Christmas it is always Angels on top.”
