Warrior of the Altaii

Page 27

by Robert Jordan

It’s said that six days after the battle at the Great Ravine a body of some five or six hundred horsemen was seen. They showed signs of having been in heavy action. They rode east. At their head was a huge man with a Morassa topknot. At that man’s shoulder rode a beautiful woman with an air of strangeness about her. They could be no others but Brecon and Sayene.

And so, we ride eastward, bearing our message. Our scarves are black, the color of death, and the message we carry is darkness and death. They are out there, somewhere. We will find them … and we will deliver the message.
