“Good,” he says. “It’s all yours, Mia.”

Then he’s above me again, pushing me back down onto the mattress, covering me with kisses. He pushes himself in between my knees, his hands rough on the soft skin of my inner thighs. I grab at the muscle in his arms, in his back, my hands looking for purchase as he moves over me.

Finally, I find his cock. I squeeze, trying to replicate the movement I just watched him make, stroking him from root to tip, and Elias groans in my ear, the head of his cock brushing against the velvety skin where my hip and thigh meet.

  “More,” he commands, voice husky.

I stroke him again and this time he drives into it, his hips moving powerfully against mine, and the movement makes me dizzy with desire because I want him driving his magnificent cock into me, not just my hand.

“Tell me you want me,” Elias commands, his lips still moving against my ear.

  “I want you,” I whisper.

He puts one hand over mine, guiding his cock towards my slippery, wet entrance. The head bumps against my clit and I gasp, but then he’s guiding himself toward my center, parting my lips with himself.

“I’m yours,” I say, my voice barely audible in the quiet night.

He enters me. He does it slowly, gently, but I still gasp at the invasion as he eases into me, a slight pinch as he breaks my hymen. My nails rake down his back, but I barely notice.

It feels good. It hurts a little, because I’m being stretched out and filled up way more than I’d ever imagined, but it’s good. I can hear myself moaning as he keeps going, my legs wrapped around his middle, my body begging for more as I roll my hips, trying to take as much of him as I can.

Suddenly, he stops. I rake my fingernails down his back, silently begging for more, and then he rocks into me, moving our bodies together in one slow, delicious movement, his thick cock lighting up every nerve center inside me with delicious friction.

“You fit me perfectly,” Elias murmurs in my ear. “I think your pussy was made for me to fuck.”

It’s dirtier than he’s ever been before but I don’t care. I’m rocking against him, desperate for movement, the pain now totally gone and replaced with nothing but sweet pleasure.

“I think so too,” I gasp, raking one hand up his back. He growls and bites my neck, and I moan at the sudden sensation of teeth on my skin.

Elias starts moving, thrusting into me with a slow, steady rhythm that drives me wild. I can tell he’s being careful with me and I don’t want him to be. I want him to hold me down and take me hard, mercilessly, while I beg him for more. I wrap myself around him and don’t let go, and in return he thrusts harder and harder, faster and faster.

It’s a whirlwind. I can’t feel where I end and he begins, I only know that we’re together and he’s inside me and all I want is more. His thick cock is raking against every sensitive spot inside me, driving me higher and higher until I’m moaning nonstop, arms and legs wrapped around him.

  “Come for me,” he growls.

I’m already close, my whole body shaking with the force of it.

“I want to feel you come around my cock,” he goes on, thrusting himself deep, nearly sending me over the edge.

“Elias,” I whimper. “Oh my God, Elias, that feels good.”

His fingers dig into one shoulder as he hilts himself again and again, each time fucking me a little harder and a little faster.

“Come,” he growls. “I know you want to, I can feel your body begging me for it.”

One more thrust and then suddenly I’m shattering, flying, breaking into a million pieces as I come so hard I think I might have set the tent on fire. I shout his name again and again, in time with his thrusts as he works every scrap of pleasure out of my body.

I come until I’m shaking, my whole body clenching and unclenching as Elias keeps whispering dirty things in my ear. I keep my legs wrapped tight around him, drawing him deeper until I finally feel him jerk and spasm inside me, every muscle in his body going rigid at once.

Slowly, Elias stops, his body relaxing onto mine. I hold him close while he’s still inside me, and he kisses my neck slowly.

“That was amazing,” he whispers. “You’re amazing.”

I don’t know what to say to that, so I just kiss him.

  Chapter Eight

  Elias

We go back to the yurt almost every night that week after Mia sneaks out of her father’s house. I hate that we have to sneak around like this, and I hate how her father treats her like she’s his property, but Mia won’t let me do anything about it.

I want to go up, knock on his door, and tell him that his daughter’s an adult woman who can manage her own life. I want to punch him right in his stupid face, and then I want to put him on virtual house arrest and see how he likes it.

But she won’t let me do any of that. She says she’s got one year of college left, and then she’ll be done and have a degree, so I don’t fight her father. I just seethe quietly whenever I see him at the bar, and then later that night Mia sneaks out to see me.

I just wish we didn’t have to sneak. I want to shout to the world that Mia is mine and I’m hers, no matter what her father says, but if that’s not what she wants right now, it’s fine.

All that matters is that she’s mine.

  * * *

“I just don’t think he was right for the part,” Mia is saying as we walk along the nearly-deserted sidewalk. “Directors have this weird idea that Nicholas Cage is some sort of everyman actor who can really disappear into a role, and that’s anything but true.”

I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her closer. She wobbles into me a little, and then we straighten out our trajectory.

“That’s the point, though,” I say. “He’s perfect for those roles, because what they always need is that little bit of Nicholas Cage je ne sais quoi.”

“His je ne sais quoi is weird,” Mia says, wrinkling her nose slightly. “He says every line like he’s trying to teach an alien English.”

I laugh, pulling her even closer, her warmth against me. There’s the tiniest chill in the air due to the elevation. We’re in Springville, the next town over — less chance of being seen as we get a late dinner and an even later movie.

If it were up to me, I’d have moved Mia into my cabin and told off her father two weeks ago, after the first time we visited the yurt. I’d have dared the whole Iron Diablos MC to come after me, as long as it meant getting to have Mia.

But it’s not what she wanted. She wants to keep the peace between herself and her father, the only parent she has. She wants to stick to her plan, finish school, and then move out, and she’d prefer to do it all without me getting into an altercation with her father or his biker gang.

Sorry. Motorcycle club. As if calling it a club makes it anything but what it is, a gang full of outlaws and lowlifes.

“Maybe he is,” I say as we turn a corner, heading back to my SUV. “If Nicholas Cage were actually some sort of secret government project built to communicate with aliens from outer space, that might actually explain a lot.”

“Told you so,” Mia says, snuggling into me a little more as we walk.

Then she looks up, her face beautiful underneath her long eyelashes, and she raises one eyebrow coyly.

“Do we have time for the yurt, or do you have to get up early?” she asks.

The word yurt shouldn’t get me instantly hard as a rock, but it does. I move my hand lower on her back until I’m palming her ass, and I give it a light squeeze.

“I’ve always got time for the yurt,” I say, my voice low and teasing. “As if I could ever…”

My sentence trails off when we round another corner. We parked in a small parking lot in the alley way, and when I left my car there, it was well-lit and full.

Now, all the street lights are out, and the alley is inky black. I can’t even see my SUV, though I’m sure it’s there somewhere. The lights on the backs of the shops I’m parked behind are o
ut too, and I don’t know why, but the whole place is imbued with a sense of menace.

You’re being crazy, I tell myself, but all the same I move in front of Mia protectively.

“Must be some sort of power outage,” she says. “I’m sure it’s not a big deal.”

“Probably not,” I echo. “It’s probably nothing.”

I take her hand in mine and start down the alley. I wonder if I should tell her to stay on the sidewalk so I can enter the dark alley alone, but I don’t like the idea of that either. If something is going to happen, I want to be nearby so I can protect her.

But nothing happens. As we walk further in, away from the last streetlight, it’s perfectly quiet and dark. My eyes adjust and I find my car exactly where I left it, unscathed.

“See?” Mia says, smiling in the dark. “Someone flipped the wrong circuit breaker.”

“Yup,” says a voice behind us.

Two dark figures are moving toward us, both backlit by the lights at the end of the alley, but I don’t need to see well to guess who they are because I can tell from their silhouettes that they’re wearing biker leathers. One’s got a baseball bat, the other flexing his fist like he’s working something onto his hand.

I grab Mia and shove her behind me.

  “Go,” I tell her.

She doesn’t move, and I glance at her quickly.

“Now,” I say, but she doesn’t go anywhere.

“I thought that was you at the movie theater,” the one on the right says. I don’t know who he is. All I can tell is that he’s slightly taller than the one on the left. “I didn’t know Lucky’s daughter was dating anyone. That’d be big news in the club.”

“What?” she asks, still behind me.

  They both laugh.

  “Seeing as how—”

The first guys starts talking, but then the other guy shoves him in the side, shutting him up.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Mia asks again, her voice braver now.

“We’d know if you had a boyfriend,” the first guy says, amending his statement. “Trust me.”

“Mia, get out of here,” I tell her again, knowing that she won’t.

“What do you want?” I ask, wishing she’d go and let me deal with these guys. Already I’m planning out how the fight will go — there’s two of them and one of me, so they’ll be overconfident, slow, clumsy. They likely have no idea that I’m trained in hand to hand combat while all they’re trained for is biker brawls.

“We want to get into Lucky’s good graces,” Left says, hitting the bat against his hand. “And since that doesn’t include beating up his daughter, you should get out of here, sweetheart.”

“Fuck you,” Mia spits. “Fuck you and your whole biker gang, I don’t want anything to do with—”

“You kiss your daddy with that mouth?” Right asks. “All right. Well, if you’re not leaving, then—”

The guy on the left swings the baseball bat, probably thinking I’m distracted, but I’ve had my eye on it the whole time. I duck under it easily, shoving Mia out of the way with my other hand as I do. Seconds later the guy on the right swings his fist at me and I barely move backwards, out of the way, his brass knuckles glinting right in front of my eyes.

I grab his wrist as his fist moves past my face, and I pull. He’s got enough momentum that it’s easy to push him off-balance, shove him into the other guy with the bat, trip him so he lands face down in the alley.

“Fuck,” the other guy grunts, stumbling backward. The guy on the ground curses too, but then the bat’s swinging at me again as the first guy starts getting up and I’m locked onto that. I don’t duck fast enough, and it hits me right in the forearm. I gasp in pain — it’ll leave a hell of a bruise — but I ignore it and twist around, giving the guy trying to get up a kick in the ribs, sending him into bat guy again.

It’s not much, but it’s just enough. They both curse, the guy on the ground scrabbling, but now when the first guy swings the bat again I’m ready for it and I duck, grab him on the follow-through, wrench the bat from his hands as he stumbles backward.

I get him right in the kneecap, and he screams as he goes down, right on top of Brass Knuckles, and I swing one more time at both of them, just for good measure. It connects with a hard thunk, and now they’re both moaning in pain as I’m panting for breath, adrenaline shooting through my veins.

“Go,” I order them, my heart thundering. “If you don’t want more broken bones.”

They scramble to their feet. I’m ready for them to try again, still on the defensive with my pulse racing through my veins, but they’re smart for once and stumble away without a sound, both of them limping.

The moment they’re gone, I turn and look for Mia. She’s right there, on the other side of my car, brave but pale. She swallows hard when our eyes lock, and I drop the bat and practically jump over my car to get to her.

“Are you okay?” she manages to get out.

I grab her hands. She’s shaking.

  “I’m fine.”

“Your arm,” she says, grabbing me where the bat hit me. “I saw how hard he got you, are you sure it’s not—”

“I’m fine,” I tell her, even as her fingers move over the lump midway down my forearm. I can tell it’s going to hurt like hell soon, but right now, I’ve still got too much adrenaline for anything to affect me.

“Elias, I don’t know what that was,” she says, her voice still shaky. “I’m so sorry, I don’t know what’s going on but clearly they’re here for me for some reason—”

I grab her by the shoulders, bring her face up to mine.

“It’s not your fault,” I tell her.

  “I—”

I don’t let her finish. I just kiss her as hard as I can, wrapping my arms around her. In a moment she stops shaking, and her body melts into me. I kiss her long and hard, stroking her hair with my hand, giving her everything she needs.

At last, I pull away. We’re both gasping for air, and for a moment, she rests her head against my chest.

Then she takes a deep breath and looks up at me.

“We have to go,” she says.

  I raise my eyebrows.

“Those idiots will be back and there will be more of them. You just embarrassed two assholes whose egos are three times the size of their brains. Believe me, they’re coming back and there’s going to be way, way more of them. And they’re not going to be carrying baseball bats,” she says.

Mia’s right. Of course she is, she’s lived with these guys for years now. I kiss her again, open her car door, push her in.

As we leave the alley she reaches over and laces her fingers through mine.

  Chapter Nine

  Mia

We drive. We don’t really go anywhere, Elias just drives while we hold hands and I try desperately to think.

We don’t go to the yurt. We don’t go home.

I want to go back to his cabin, nestled on top of a mountain, surrounded by trees, but I know it’s too risky. I don’t want to draw the MC to where he lives, not when this should be my problem to deal with.

Finally, he parks. I have no idea where we are — somewhere in Springville, still, which is two towns away from where we live. We didn’t think that anyone from the MC would be here, but I guess we were wrong.

It’s dark, and we’re tucked away on a side street, somewhere in the business district. There’s no one else around, but at least we’ll be able to see if anyone’s coming.

I swallow hard, then clear my throat.

“We need a plan,” I say, fighting to keep my voice level. “I think that was Filter and Shrike. They’re probably already telling my dad that they saw us together, which means that when I get back, he’s going to be pissed but maybe I can—”

“Mia,” Elias rumbles suddenly, his voice cutting through the quiet of the car. “I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”

I take his hand in both of mine, running my fingers over his forearm
until I find the ugly lump where the baseball bat hit him.

“I know,” I say quietly. “I wish I could say the same for you.”

“I’m fine,” he says, his voice husky. “Trust me, I’ve seen much worse.”

His hand is on my face, in the darkness, his rough thumb skimming over my cheekbone. I close my eyes and try to collect myself, try to figure out what to do next, where to go from here, because I don’t know.

I lean in, my forehead on his strong shoulder, because with everything swirling around in my brain right now, I just need him. I need him close, I need to touch him and feel that he’s real and solid and still here.

Elias kisses my forehead, his hand on the back of my neck, and I reach one hand up to circle around his, my fingers winding up through his hair.

“I’m here,” he rumbles, his voice low and steady. “I’ve got you.”

I turn my head, kiss his neck. I can feel his slow, strong pulse beating beneath my lips, and I kiss him again, then again. His skin is warm and slightly prickly with stubble, and before I know it my lips are on his jaw, his chin, then they’re on his lips.

Elias kisses me back fiercely, his teeth skimming my lip as he opens his mouth against mine. Suddenly I need him like I need air, and I press myself against him, my fingers clenched in his hair. I undo my seatbelt with my other hand and before I know it, I’m practically climbing over the center console, trying to sit on his lap, desperate for his touch.

He groans, his hand working its way underneath my shirt, his fingers moving along my spine. I don’t break our kiss, but I shimmy in the front seat, trying to press our bodies together.

I need him. Now. I crave his touch, crave his protection. I want to be with him because I suddenly feel like it’s the only way I can make sure that he’s okay, still solid and breathing.

Now I’m kneeling in the passenger seat, leaning on the console. I’ve still got one hand snaked through his hair and he’s palming my ass over my skirt, slowly and steadily, like he’s trying to control himself and having a hard time of it.
