Frozen Page 23

by L. A. Casey

“What’s so funny?” he asked, grinning.

“I was just thinking that you’re a new Darcy.”

Darcy winked. “A happier Darcy now that I have you.”

“Well, what do you know,” I teased. “Your heart isn’t frozen after all.”

Darcy scrunched up his face and brought his hands down to my sides and tickled me. I burst into laughter and gripped onto his body until he laughed loudly and stopped his attack. He kissed the crown of my head and hugged me.

I closed my eyes and sighed.

When I opened my eyes I smiled.

I was happy, and Darcy, my boyfriend, was happy, but God himself only knew how happy our families would be. Fireworks would go off again once they found out Darcy and I were taking things slow, but giving us a go. The fuckers had just better keep their meddling noses out of our relationship.

I’d be doing some burying of my own this time around if they didn’t.

  THE END.

  ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I would never have been able to finish Frozen and get it together for the public to read without my crew of helpers.

My little sister, Edel: thank you so much for sitting down and outlining Frozen with me, and for believing in Neala and Darcy as much as I do. I love you!

My mini-me: you’re the sweetest little minion God could have ever blessed me with. I love you to Neptune and back!

My family: thank you for the incredible support you give me.

Jill Sava: the world’s greatest PA! Thank you for everything you do for me. I’d be lost without you. Literally lost!

Yessi Smith and Mary Johnson: I don’t even know what to say other than I absolutely adore you both.

My agent, Mark Gottlieb: thank you for believing in me and my work, Mark. I appreciate everything you do for me.

Tiffany Yates Martin: thank you for your flawless editing, and your help with shaping Frozen into the book it is today. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Jennifer McIntyre: Thank you so much for copyediting Frozen and polishing off a story that I love.

Sammia and all the crew at Montlake Romance, for taking a chance on Frozen – thank you so much.

And last, but never least, my readers. Without all of you I wouldn’t be able to call writing, my passion, a job. You have made my dreams come true and I can’t thank you enough for it. I hope you enjoyed reading Neala and Darcy’s story as much as I did writing it.
