Mick Sinatra: Ice Cold Love

All of them were there because they woke up to discover that Mick and Tommy were gone. Nobody knew where. According to Teddy, Mick’s security chief confirmed that Mick and Tommy left, together, on their own accord. They left in Mick’s Porsche.

And nobody was happy about any solo missions at this stage.

“Why would they pull some shit like that,” Sal asked, “and not tell anybody? I’m no fucking stay-at-home dad. I’m supposed to be in on the action!”

“I know that’s right,” Reno said. “But it’s always the two of them. Anything goes down, Tommy is the first one Uncle Mick calls. After calling you, of course, Big Daddy,” Reno added. “But he always call Tommy, when it’s me and Sal that are the bad asses. Tommy’s a lover, not a fighter.”

“Ha!” said Big Daddy. “You know better than that, Reno. Get Tommy riled enough and he’ll kick both your asses.”

Grace, Trina, and Gemma laughed. “You’re right, Big Daddy,” said Trina.

“In his dreams, he’s right,” said Sal.

“Tell her, Sal,” echoed Reno. “But why would they pull a stunt like that? The two of them going it alone? It makes no sense!”

“Because it probably wasn’t supposed to be the two of them,” said Roz.

Everybody looked at her. All except Bella, who was dozing in and out. But Amelia had abruptly ended her call with Hammer, and had returned to the group. “What do you mean?” Sal asked Roz.

“Mick is a solo act,” said Roz. “He doesn’t take a crowd to any event with him, unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

“And knowing Tommy the way I know my big brother,” Sal said, “he probably figured that shit out. He knows Uncle Mick like that. He was probably waiting on Uncle Mick’s ass.”

“Right,” said Reno. “Because we know Tommy’s sneakier than Mick. We don’t call him Backdoor Tommy for nothing!”

  They all laughed.

But Sal was taking it personally. Mainly because he was super-worried for his uncle and brother. “But that shit ain’t funny,” he said. “They need muscle like me and you, Ree. They could have took us along.”

They all agreed to that. And that was also why, when Teddy hurried into the room and announced that Mick’s Porsche had just driven through the gate, they all jumped up, all except Bella, and ran outside.

Mick and Tommy had parked and were just stepping out of the Porsche when they all came outside. When Grace saw that Tommy was back and in one piece, she ran to him. Tommy smiled and pulled her into his arms.

But Roz couldn’t go there. She didn’t run to Mick at all. She wasn’t feeling what he did, nor that going-it-alone-attitude he always seemed to have, at all. She folded her arms.

“Where did you and Uncle Mick go?” Grace asked Tommy.

“Turned out to be a loose ends mission.”

“But that’s not what you thought it was going to be?”

“No,” said Tommy. “It was not.”

“And you went without me and Ree?” Sal asked. “That’s some bullshit there!”

“Don’t blame me,” said Tommy. “He didn’t want to take me along either.”

Sal and Reno glanced at Roz. She was right as usual. But Roz, Mick could tell, was too pissed to even notice their glance.

“Let’s get inside,” Mick said, and they all began heading back indoors.

Mick walked beside Roz. “How’s Glo and Joey?” he asked her.

But Roz didn’t respond. She was still too pissed with him.

And as they were going into the house, across the threshold, Mick attempted to place his hand on the small of Roz’s back, to help assist her inside. But Roz moved away from his touch. Which only pissed him off too.

That was why, once they made it inside and she was about to move completely away from him, as if she couldn’t bear to be in his presence a second longer, he shocked everybody when he grabbed her by the arm and all but dragged her across the foyer and into a small office space just off from the foyer.

“Damn,” Sal said when Mick flung Roz into the room and slammed the door behind them. “I feel bad for Roz.”

“For Roz?” asked Teddy. “Roz can handle herself and then some. I feel bad for Pop.”

And they both had every right to feel the way they did because, inside of that room, Mick and Roz were both heated. That was why, as soon as Mick slammed that door, Roz angrily jerked her arm away from him.

“What’s wrong with you?” she asked, rubbing her wrist. “That hurt! What’s wrong with you?”

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Mick angrily asked her, reversing it. “I had business to take care of!”

“You could have told me what you were going to do.”

“Told you?” Mick asked. “Your ass was asleep!”

Outside of that room, those who chose to listen could hear every word. Although Grace and Trina and Jenay, and Big Daddy and Teddy, too, headed for the living room and were out of earshot of the argument, Sal, Reno, and Tommy remained where they were. In case Roz needed rescuing. Or, if Teddy was to be believed, in case Mick needed rescuing.

Inside, both were going at each other. “Yes, I was asleep,” Roz said. “But you made sure of that, didn’t you?”

But Mick had a fixed frown on his face. “What the fuck were you going to do about it even if I had awakened you and told you what I was going to do? What were you going to do? Stop me?”

“I might have! I might have told you not to do it.”

“Woman, please!” Mick yelled. “When it comes to defending this family, nobody, not even your ass, will tell me a gotdamn thing!

He grabbed her arm again, even as she attempted to stop him. “You hear me, Rosalyn? I handled our business. Our business! Don’t you dare get snippy with me because I didn’t tell you first! I handle our business. Don’t you dare try to handle me!”

Then he let her arm go, causing her to almost lose her balance. But she didn’t lose it. She just stood there. Then she rubbed her forehead with her fingers. Because she knew he was right. At the end of the day, she knew she had overreacted to something that was for Mick alone to decide for the family. She had veered seriously out of her lane. To veer back in lane, she leaned her head against Mick’s chest.

Mick knew it was her way of attrition, but he was still upset with her. But she was still his weakness, even in his anger. He let out a heavy exhale, and then pulled her into his arms.

“I’m sorry,” Roz said, sniffling. “I guess I’m a little scared, Mick. That’s why I lashed out at you. I’m tired of my husband having to defend everybody. I’m tired of you being in harm’s way all the time.”

Mick wrapped both arms around her. One thing he knew for sure: Rosalyn Graham-Sinatra loved his twisted ass. And she worried about him. “I will do everything in my power,” he said, “to make sure our enemies are no more. But I’ll do everything in my power to be careful too.”

She looked up at him. “Did you and Tommy get them all? Including those Russians Teddy keeps talking about?”

Mick shook his head. “The Russians, no,” he said. “We went to take care of the dons’ men.”

  “Did you?”

“Somebody had already handled them. Every one of them. Families included.”

That surprised Roz. “So they all were already dead when you and Tommy got there?”

“All but one person over all three houses we went to. And we handled him,” Mick added. “But yeah, all of them were already dead.”

“And you think the Russians killed them?”

“That’s the only thing we can think at this point.”

“But why, Mick? Why would they kill them all like that?”

“To ensure they control all of the territories the dons left behind,” Mick said.

“Or to bait you,” Roz said.

Mick stared at her. It was uncanny, he thought, because, as he walked through all of those houses, he had been thinking the same thing. “There’s that,” he said.

  “But why?
Roz asked. But it was obvious to her that Mick didn’t know yet. But she also knew he would eventually.

But as they continued to stare into each other’s eyes, their looks began to change. Theirs was a love steeped deep into honesty, and being totally honest with each other was a must, although it wasn’t always so cut and dry.

It was also a love steeped in passion. And as they continued to stare into each other’s eyes, their passion was rising.

And they kissed. Passionately. But it wasn’t enough for either one of them. Especially Mick, who was now hungering for Roz.

He pushed her against the door, pulled down her panties, and knelt down in front of her.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Roz grabbed onto his hair as he ate her with a ferocity that caused her to buck against the door every time he bit her.

The Gabrinis, still in the foyer, could hear the banging against the door and they, at first, thought Mick and Roz had come to blows. They knew both Mick and Roz had that kind of explosive temper.

But Tommy, the lover, was the first to point out the fallacy in their conclusion. “That’s not what I’m hearing,” he said confidently, and Reno and Sal listened closer. And as they began to hear heavy breathing with those door bangs, they began to agree.

But inside, Mick was just getting started. He stood back up, dropped his pants and underwear along his ankles, and pulled it out.

When he pulled it out, it was such a hard erection that he didn’t even have to guide it in. But he guided it anyway, because he didn’t want to do a hard thrust. He wanted to enjoy this for as long as he could.

And he entered her only slightly, with the head of his penis rubbing against her tight and wet entry. He could feel a yearning inside of her that she couldn’t repress. It felt so good that it made Mick want to yell with joy. And he would have, had they been at his cabin in the woods, or at his chateau in Paris. But they weren’t at either of those isolated places. They were in a small room off from the foyer, in a house almost packed with guests. They had to tread lightly.

But when he finally released his penis and pushed deep inside of Roz, and he began to grind on her and stroke her with heavy, rhythmic strokes, he couldn’t help himself. He began groaning with every stroke. He couldn’t contain how sensational it felt to be inside of his wife.

Roz couldn’t contain those sensations, either, as she rubbed his silky hair and rode his dick as if she was riding a bull made of gold. It was a slick ride.

They were banging against the door, and they didn’t give a shit. They were in their feelings now. They were immune to the world outside, and could only concentrate, could only enjoy and feel invigorated, by those sensations.

Mick looked up at Roz as he continued to pump his ass off. And when Roz returned the favor, and looked into his hard green eyes, with his one sleepy eye still so damn sexy to Roz, that they both felt the heat on their lips too.

And when Mick began kissing Roz with a passionate kiss, Roz placed her hands on the side of his face and kissed him back, equally passionately. And they were kissing as they were fucking. For the longest time. Sweat built up on both of them, but that was because their passion was increasing. And Mick’s passion was increasing, along with his strokes. His rhythm took on an urgency and Roz wrapped her legs even tighter around his rock-hard body.

  And they came.

Mick kept whispering Rosalyn’s name as they came.

Roz kept whispering Mick’s name as they came.

And he kept fucking her. He couldn’t stop himself. He kept at it, long and hard. Until they both were empty. Until they both were so overcome that they could hardly stand there. Especially Mick.

He leaned against Roz until he collapsed against her. But when he kissed her, and pulled out of her with a pull out that was as long as his penis, they both felt that sudden surge of emptiness they always felt when it was over.

But then they smiled. “Fucking you,” Mick whispered to Roz when it was all over, “will never get old.”

Roz smiled. It wasn’t exactly the kind of love note she would have liked him to give to her. But he enjoyed making love to her, and wanted her to know that. Which meant something special too.

Mick also found the strength to carry Roz into the small bathroom in the small office-type room, and he sat on her on the vanity and cleaned her up. When he looked back up at her, she was smiling.

“You see something funny?” he asked her.

“Yes,” she said as he wiped her. “The powerful Mick Sinatra on cleaning duty.”

Mick laughed. “Oh, but there are advantages to this type of cleaning,” he said, and began to remove his hand from the cloth he was using, and began fingering her. “Quite a great advantage.”

Roz smiled, but then began enjoying his fingering so much that she knew what was coming next.

And it came. Because Mick was enjoying it too. Until he couldn’t stop himself.

While she still sat up on that vanity, he took his once-again erect, wet penis, and put it right back inside of her.

Roz laid her head on his shoulder, totally relaxed, as they made long, passionate love all over again.

When they finally came out of the room, the Gabrinis had long since left the foyer. Once the banging began, and it was obvious what was going on behind that closed door, they skedaddled. Now the young people were in the home hospital keeping Gloria and Joey company, the kids were downstairs playing video games, and all of the principals and their women were lounging around in the massive living room waiting for Chef Drayvon to finish preparing breakfast for all of them. Amelia was in there, too, but she was on her cell phone in yet another heated discussion with Hammer Reese.

It was Big Daddy who saw the glow all over Roz, and he was the one who said what everybody was thinking. “Working on the railroad, were you, Mick?” Big Daddy asked his kid brother, and everybody broke into laughter.

But it was short-lived when Robby Yale, Sal’s underboss, arrived at the home with word that Gregor Govanoff and his old lady had not only been spotted, but was holed up in a location isolated enough that Mick and his crew could get in and out quickly and, hopefully, with minimum casualties.

“Where?” Sal asked his trusted, and controversial, underboss.

“Just a couple miles away from here,” said Robby. “Over at the campgrounds on Bledsoe.”

Teddy frowned. “That place closed down years ago.”

“Precisely,” said Robby. “That’s what makes it an excellent hiding place.”

Roz looked at Mick. The time had come. The fear in her eyes was palpable.

Mick felt her fear. That was why he didn’t look her way. A man about to go on a mission could never show any weakness, and he knew it. Although, he also knew, he was weak as a lamb when it came to Rosalyn.

“Where’s my men?” Sal asked Robby.

“They’re already there,” Robby replied to Sal. “They’re ready to go in on orders from you.”

“I give the orders around here,” Mick said. “Tell them to stand down until I get there.”

Robby quickly nodded. He knew all about the legend of Mick the Tick. He was a fucker who’d cut your head off if you fucked with him. “Yes, sir,” he said, without consulting Sal. “Will do.”

Sal smiled at Robby. “Your ass caved mighty quickly,” he said.

  Robby smiled too.

“What’s the game plan, Unc?” Reno asked.

“Everybody goes in,” said Mick. “And they make it quick. Your men, my men, Tommy’s men, Sal’s men. Millie’s men too.

Amelia smiled. “What men? I’m not in that shit anymore.”

Mick gave her a yeah, right look. “I’m sure that’s why Hammer’s been hounding your ass. Because you’re out of the game.”

Amelia’s smile lessened because she knew her brother spoke the truth. She had gotten out, but Hammer still didn’t like what she had gotten into. But that, she felt, was her business. Especially since he hadn’t exactly been a paragon of vi
rtue himself.

Mick continued. “I want every one of you to make sure that your men understand one thing and one thing exactly.”

“What’s that, Boss?” Sal asked, and everybody laughed. None of the principals played second fiddle to anybody. Except Mick.

And Mick was all business. “Make sure your men understand the goal,” he said.

But it sounded like doublespeak to Sal. “And what’s that goal?”

“To kill them all,” said Teddy for his father.

“Leave none of those bastards alive,” said Mick. “None of them. We are sending a message today.”

“And that message is?” asked Tommy.

“Don’t fuck with us,” said Teddy.

  Mick nodded. “Right.”

Reno and Sal looked at each other. Mick was giving a lot of authority to his son. More than they thought they’d ever see. And Teddy, they realized, was his father’s son. He was getting there.

Mick began heading downstairs, in his basement, to suit up. All of the principals, including Robby and Amelia, began following him down.

“We’re going to hit in broad daylight?” Tommy asked.

“You’re questioning the wisdom of it, Dapper Tom?” Teddy asked.

  “Hell yeah,” said Tommy.

  “So am I,” said Sal.

  “So am I,” said Reno.

“Trust the process,” said Amelia, and everybody laughed.

“I was just concerned that we may lose the element of surprise,” Tommy said.

“I don’t give a fuck about surprising them,” said Mick. “They can know we’re coming. But they will not stop us.”

“I know that’s right,” said Big Daddy.

  “Robby?” Mick asked.

“Yes, sir, Mr. Sinatra?” Robby responded.

“This woman Govanoff is with. Any read on her?”

Robby felt blindsided. How in the world was he supposed to remember her name? But he did have notes. He quickly pulled out his cell phone and pulled up those notes. Everybody waited, with most wondering what in the world difference would that make.

“Her name’s Jamila,” Robby said. “Jamila VanDam.”
