As soon as Robin was old enough, Ellen took him out exploring. She was never going to keep him behind the walls of the estate where he would be kept safe. She wanted him to experience the world. She, Robin, and Duncan would often go riding off deep into the Highlands, ready to face some kind of adventure. The world was filled with unknown wonders and she was ready to search for them all. But she also liked having the knowledge that home was waiting for them, a home that was undisputedly theirs. Myra kept it well-maintained whenever Ellen was absent, and the family always returned.
