“In Year 24,850, the great His Majesty Isaac relegated the throne...

“Amos Kroc, the second president of Fire Dragon Magic Academy. A strong and powerful Saint Domain Dragon Person and a Saint Domain Magician skilled in both water-elemental and fire-elemental magic. He is the first Dragon Person to master Dragon-language Magic and is skilled in the research of magic. He invented a total of 189 water-elemental and fire-elemental magic spells and made an outstanding contribution to water-elemental and fire-elemental magic research!

  “Adolf Holman...”

Meng Lei was rather astounded as he looked at each and every statue and browsed the statue owners’ life stories. Everyone that qualified to be erected there was actually Saint Domain experts, and they weren’t just any other Saint Domain, no less!

All of them were great and noble existences that had accomplished glorious achievements, or the older generation of teachers and seniors that had made outstanding contributions to the academy, or meritorious generals and officials that had accomplished illustrious military achievements in war!

Even if they were kings of Fire Dragon Kingdom, ordinary Saint Domains didn’t even need to harbor thoughts of having a place here!

“Every one of them is an outstanding existence among the Saint Domains!

  “Saint Domain...

“Can I... reach such high heights?”

People moved about here and there in the public square. Most of them were like Meng Lei and were new students here to report to the academy. However, with no exception whatsoever, every one of them was awed by the statues and looked quietly with reverence at the Saint Domain experts’ glorious deeds!

After Meng Lei browsed through the statue owners’ life histories one by one, he arrived at the assessment site. As it just so happened, there weren’t that many people waiting to be assessed, either.

Thinking about it again, this was normal, too. After all, Fire Dragon Magic Academy only recruited a maximum of 100 people per year. It was naturally impossible that long queues like those during the magic assessment, as though it were the spring festival, would appear here!

“Old bro, are you one of the new students from this year, too?”

Meng Lei had only just stood still when someone patted him on the back. He turned to see a little fatty with a chubby face and dressed in brocade robes looking at him with a smile.

The little fatty was shorter than 1.6 meters, but his waist circumference was horrifyingly big. He looked charmingly naive when he smiled as if he were a Laughing Buddha. His eyes, which were small to begin with, were already close to becoming slits!

Duh, can’t you see that I’m queuing right now!

Meng Lei mentally criticized him but kept a smile on his face. Most of the people going to and fro here were Dragon People, including even the teachers in charge of the magic assessment. Seeing a fellow human did make Meng Lei feel rather amiable!

Yep, even though this fellow human’s a fatty!

  “Wow! You’re a human?”

The little fatty looked at Meng Lei in great astonishment. His tiny eyes widened into mung beans at once, as though a tortoise’s eyes. He said, “All the humans that qualify to be admitted into the academy are geniuses among geniuses. Old bro, you’re no exception too, right?”

  “I’m just average, I guess!”

Meng Lei scratched his head. He wasn’t very sure how his talent fared among the new students this year, either. But thinking about it, it shouldn’t be that bad?

  “Average?”

  The little fatty blinked.

“Fatty Hart, why are you here too?”

At this moment, a piercing and unpleasant voice rang out behind them. Meng Lei turned to see a Dragon Person that was green all over, had a horn on his head, and a long tail at his bottom, walking over. With a fake smile on his green face, he looked right at the little fatty.

The green-skinned Dragon Person stood tall and straight. His muscles bulged, and he gave off a strong and vigorous aura all over. He was much more handsome and imposing than the little fatty.

The chubby flesh on the little fatty’s face trembled, and he said with a snort, “How is it that I can hear that unpleasant chicken caw-like voice of yours everywhere I go? Are you annoying or what?”

“You scum of the Dragon Person community, are you looking for a beating?”

The green-skinned Dragon Person glared at him and balled his hand into a fist, ready to strike. The little fatty was so frightened that he cowered and hid behind Meng Lei. Then, he shouted, “Lance, shouldn’t you take a look at where you are? Are you really thinking of putting on such atrocious behavior here?”

Lance, the green-skinned Dragon Person, froze, and he turned and looked around. When he saw that no one had their attention on them, he breathed a sigh of relief and immediately shouted, “You’d better watch out, Fatty Hart! The next time we go out of school, I’ll definitely beat you up so bad that you’ll be looking all over the floor for your teeth!”

“Hohoho! Beat me up now if you have the guts, you trash!”

Upon seeing that Lance didn’t dare to hit him, the little fatty became proud and arrogant at once.

  “We’ll see!”

Rather outraged, Lance glared viciously at the little fatty. Then, his eyes fell onto Meng Lei, and a hint of mockery appeared at the corners of his lips. He said, “Fatty Hart, you’re truly a disgrace among us Dragon People. To think you’re actually hanging out with a cheap human! I really grieve for Duke James for having such a useless son like you!”

Upon hearing what he said, Meng Lei couldn’t help but frown. The little fatty snorted angrily and said, “Lance, he’s a human friend that I just made. You’re not allowed to insult him!”

Lance sneered and replied with great contempt, “Friend? Ha, only cheap trash with human slaves’ blood flowing through their veins like you would treat a cheap human as a friend. The noble and elegant Dragon People have always found it beneath them to befriend lowly humans!”

  “You—”

The little fatty was so furious that all the flesh on him was trembling. He said, “Lance, I’ve warned you before not to humiliate my mother. Otherwise...”

  “Otherwise, what?”

Lance’s expression was full of mockery.

“Otherwise, I’ll beat you to a pulp!”

A sharp shadow suddenly flashed past. Right away, Lance saw a fist appear right in front of him. It became bigger and bigger, and then it made intimate contact with his nose!

  Snap!

Terrifying power erupted instantly. As a crisp snap rang out, Lance’s nose sunk in at once, and his entire self flew backward with a scream!

  The square suddenly fell silent!

Hart, the little fatty, was in a daze as he watched Lance flying out backward. Then, he looked at Meng Lei, who was standing in front of him. His mung bean-like eyes were full of disbelief as he stammered, “H-how did that happen?”

  Whoosh!

This attracted the attention of everyone else in the square, too. The few teachers in charge of the new students’ assessment frowned one after another, a look of displeasure coming over their faces.

  “What’s going on over there?”

  “Who’s so gutsy?”

“They actually dare to fight and brawl in Saint Dragon Square!”

“Do they want to be kicked out of school?”

“What’s going on? Who’s the one that struck just now?”

A middle-aged teacher wearing a magician robe walked over. His stern and severe eyes fell on Lance as he questioned him coldly and loudly!

Lance spat out the blood in his mouth. He glared furiously at Meng Lei, as though flames were bursting forth from his eyes. He shouted, “You lowly cheap trash! How dare you ambush me?! I’m going to kill you!”

All the green scales on his body s
tood on end. A terrifying, cold, and sinister aura suddenly erupted from him—he was about to go on a rampage!

“Oh no! That guy’s become serious!”

The little fatty’s expression changed, and he said, “Although that bastard isn’t of age yet, his body is already comparable to a Third-Grade Warrior’s. Old bro, discretion is the better part of valor. How about we retreat for now?!”

  Third-Grade Warrior?

A hint of surprise flashed across Meng Lei’s eyes. This Dragon Person named Lance should be pretty young, and about the same age as an elementary school student on Earth!

He was just a mere elementary school student, yet his body was already comparable to a Third-Grade Warrior’s. A Dragon Person’s talent was truly impressive. Compared to him, humans like Captain Hudders that painstakingly cultivated for 20 to 30 years, yet was only a Second-Grade Warrior, should just go and bang their heads against the wall!

No wonder Captain Hudders said that no matter how down and out Dragon People were, they would still live a much better life than a human. After seeing this today, what he said is indeed true!

  “Die, you cheap trash!”

Lance stomped on the ground, causing cracks to form at once. By borrowing the ground’s rebound force, he abruptly turned into a flash of shadow and dived right toward Meng Lei!

  “How impudent!”

However, it was at this moment that a furious roar reached their ears. The middle-aged teacher wearing the magician robe looked livid as he glared at Lance!

“How bold of you to actually dare to behave so atrociously here!”

The middle-aged teacher made a casual grabbing motion, and wisps of green air appeared out of nowhere. They transformed into two big green snakes and wound around Lance’s legs. Hindered all of a sudden, Lance landed onto the floor with a crash and fell flat on his face!

  Bam!

“Haha, to think that you’d end up like this today! I’m going to die of laughter!”

Upon seeing what had happened, the little fatty was bent over in stitches at once!

  “You bastard!”

Lance had a sturdy physique, so this little collision hadn’t actually hurt him at all. He struggled to his feet and glared at the middle-aged teacher. He snapped, “Who are you? Why are you stopping me?!”

“Hmph! This is an important place in the school. How can you be allowed to behave so atrociously here?” The middle-aged teacher had a somber look on his face as he said, “Where’s the disciplinary team? Throw him out of the academy!”

Throw him out of the academy?

  Oh no!

Lance had heard of how those who were thrown out of the academy had turned out in the end. Right away, his expression changed drastically, and he hastily said, “No! Don’t! I’m a new student that has only just arrived here to report. I have the academy badge! You can’t chase me away!”

  “A new student? Hmph!”

The middle-aged teacher’s gaze swept across the academy badge at his chest, and his expression eased up slightly. He replied, “Fine, on account of you being a new student, I’ll spare you this once for the time being. If you dare to create any more trouble, whether you’re a prince or nobility, you’ll be expelled all the same!”

  “Yes, yes!”

Perspiration broke out on Lance’s forehead, and he hastily nodded.

  “And you!”

The middle-aged teacher turned and glared viciously at Meng Lei. He said, “Haven’t you heard of the academy’s rules? Students who get into a fight or brawl in private will be expelled immediately and thrown out of the academy once discovered! Getting into a fight with a classmate the moment you enter the school... Do you want to be expelled?!”

“Not at all, not at all!”

Meng Lei lowered his head and wussed out!

“Hmph! As long as that’s not the case! Remember, this will only happen just this once!”

The middle-aged teacher let out a loud snort, looking quite as if he were exasperated at the students’ failure to live up to expectations. He said, “Just how many people have made every effort to enter the academy, only to meet with failure? And yet you got into a fight the moment you entered?”

  “Sir, I’ve erred!”

“Hmph!” The middle-aged teacher gave a cold snort and returned to the assessment site. Then, he shouted, “Next!”

Meng Lei turned, took a look around, and realized that there was no longer anyone in front of him—it was his turn to be assessed!

  “Let him take the assessment!”

The middle-aged teacher glared at Meng Lei and then instructed the teacher in charge of the assessment beside him.

“Yes, Department Head!” replied the assessment teacher.

Then, he began Meng Lei’s assessment!

At this point, Hart, the little fatty, also walked over and started to observe enthusiastically. He was extremely curious about Meng Lei right now.

The fact that Meng Lei had been able to send Lance flying with a punch meant that his body was also rather strong, too!

However, it was very hard for ordinary humans to have a body like that. In that case, how did Meng Lei...

The little fatty’s guess was that Meng Lei had probably cultivated Battle Aura before and must be a Warrior.

Yet he had been recruited by Fire Dragon Magic Academy!

  Now, that was pretty strange!

I bet that cheap trash’s magic talent must be very ordinary!

Lance thought indignantly to himself as he followed at the back.

However, he was destined to be disappointed!

  “Superior-Grade!

“Elemental Affinity: Thunder-Element, Superior-Grade!” exclaimed the astounded teacher in charge of the assessment.

  “Superior-Grade!”

  “To think it’s actually Superior-Grade!”

The middle-aged teacher and the other teachers in charge of the assessment came over one after another. They stared at the dazzling crystal ball, all of them considerably astonished!

  “What the hell! Superior-Grade?!”

The little fatty inhaled sharply. “He’s that big of a mutant?”

  “Superior-Grade Thunder-Element? Could it be that you’re...”

Something seemed to occur to the middle-aged teacher. He grabbed the recruitment list on the table and began to scan through it. The first line written on the name list was:

‘Meng Lei, 15 years old. Superior-Grade Thunder-Element, 100 times that of his peers. Human.’

  “You’re Meng Lei?”

The middle-aged teacher lifted his head and looked at Meng Lei in great astonishment.

  “Yes, that’s me!”

  Meng Lei nodded.

“Not bad, sonny! So you’re the one!”

The middle-aged teacher, who was in disbelief, urged, “Hurry! Have your spiritual power assessed, too!”

Meng Lei did as told and got his spiritual power assessed. Just like before, his spiritual power was 100 times that of his peers. Upon seeing the results, the middle-aged teacher exhaled a long breath of air and finally became certain of his identity. However, when he thought back to the events that had taken place just now, a bout of lingering fear came over him. If he had really thrown Meng Lei out of the academy, he would have been in deep trouble!

Meng Lei was the top genius that they had recruited this year, after all!

“Why did you get into a fight the moment you entered the academy when you have such great talent?” asked the middle-aged teacher testily.

  “I...”

“What’s there to ‘I’ about? Aren’t you afraid of being thrown out of the academy?”

With his finger pointed right at Meng Lei’s nose, the middle-aged teacher started to berate him fiercely, “What were you going to do if you were really expelled? You’d have a lot to cry over if that really happened!”

“Cough, it won’t go to that extent. At the worst, I’ll just go to Douglas Magic Academy!” mumbled Meng Lei softly with
a sneaky laugh.

  “Uhh...”

The middle-aged teacher was actually rendered speechless. He didn’t quite know what he should say to that. Indeed, even if there was no place for him here, he would naturally be able to find a place for himself somewhere out there. For someone with such exceptional talent like Meng Lei, even if he should lose his place in Fire Dragon Magic Academy, he could totally still go to other magic academies. He needn’t worry at all that no one would accept him!

“That’s the reason for you getting into a fight?”

The middle-aged teacher choked rather badly at his response. He said testily, “You’d better be more well-behaved in the future. The academy isn’t a place where you can act willfully and make trouble. Understand?”

  “Understood!”

Chapter 26: A Luxurious Condominium, Cold And Distant Housemate

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

  The new student assessment!

  Enrollment and registration!

  Dormitory assignment!

It was already afternoon by the time all the procedures were completed. Meng Lei finally received his dormitory address and, under a volunteer senior’s guidance, made his way to the condominium for new students.

“Old bro, so you’re that famous human genius. Tsk, tsk, hearing about you truly can’t compare to meeting you in the flesh. You look bright and valiant, indeed!

“Hehe, little brother here didn’t think that I would be so lucky that the first person I approached right after entering the academy would be you, old bro. Tsk, tsk, fate, this is fate!

“Say, old bro, aren’t you a human? Why is your body also so strong? Could it be that you’re the same as me, and also possess Dragon People blood in you? But that doesn’t sound right. You don’t have any Dragon People characteristics at all!”

The little fatty’s mouth was like a breached dam. His saliva flew everywhere as he rambled on and on, and followed Meng Lei around!

  “I’m human!”

Once in a while, Meng Lei would reply to him. Most of his attention was on the scenery in the academy and on picking up dropped items. This was an academy with over 10,000 years of history, after all. As expected, it was indeed extraordinary!
