Denari
I don’t know what the fuck else I got to do to show these muthafuckas that I can do everything that they could do and better. I made that deal on my own, I been putting in work and the shit was paying off. We were slowly taking over South Carolina; business was booming so much that the nigga was trying to double his order. Why in the fuck would they try and shut that shit down? All they keep talking about is unnecessary shit, his last name, what the fuck did that matter if the nigga’s money was green he was good in my book. If he was the FEDS I would know that shit.
I can’t believe Omari’s ass just stood there while they were tearing my ass a new one. I had no idea what his problem was as of late, but he was being disloyal as fuck. We were all brothers, but me and that nigga shared the same fucking DNA, so that should mean a little more. A conversation with him was definitely needed.
Boom! Boom!
Looking in my rearview mirror, all I could see was a big ass cloud of smoke and it had to be coming from the warehouse, because there was nothing else around. The U-turn I busted was illegal as hell, but right now the only thing that was on my mind was going to check on my family. My Camaro pushed 120 easy and I was pulling back up in no time.
“Oh shit!” was the only thing that I could say at the scene that I was witnessing. Jumping out my car, I ran down to the warehouse, I watched as my Uncle’s car became engulfed in flames. I spotted Kayson standing in the doorway with his hands on his head. It looked as if he had tears running down his face. He disappeared into the warehouse and I followed him. “What the fuck happened?” I yelled and they all pulled out on me. “Whoa, nigga it’s me.” I threw my hands up.
“Did you do this?” Kayson said walking toward me with a scowl on his face. When he got within arm’s reach, he took a swing at me but I backed up enough for him to miss, and Jaako jumped in between us.
“Kay, calm the fuck down, you know good and damn well D ain’t did no shit like that.” Jaako’s voice trembled, the pain he was feeling could be felt with every word he spoke.
“Where Unc at man?” I asked on the verge of tears myself, but no one said anything. “Come on man, where the fuck Unc at?”
“He walked out to the car man, that’s all we know.” Jaako admitted.
“FUCK!” I screamed and then I just broke down. We had our issues, but I swear I loved that nigga more than I would ever be able to explain. He was my father, and no one could tell me any different and to think that I may never see him again was taking all the thug out of me, out of all of us.
“Bruh, chill,” Jaako tried to calm me down. “He could have gotten out.”
“Ortiz.” Kayson said out of the blue and then turned toward his office. We all followed him in there and he pulled up the cameras that he told us he had just installed. “Unc got at that nigga’s family, so this has his name all over it and I swear on my unborn shorties, his ass is gonna feel all my pain.” He said as he did something with the tape.
He pressed play and I watched as we all filed into the warehouse. After we were all inside, you could see a figure walk out of the woods. He looked up at the camera, pulled out a gun and shot that muthafucka down.
“I’ma fucking kill ‘em.” Kayson said through gritted teeth.
“That was that nigga Roger, that used to fuck with Jenacia wasn’t it?” Jaako asked.
“Yep, and that nigga just guaranteed himself a spot in hell.”
“We need to find that nigga and fast.” Omari finally spoke up sounding just as hurt as the rest of us. “How in the fuck he know where we do business at anyway?”
We all looked at Kayson, and he gave us that don’t even fucking think about it look. The only person with any ties to Roger was Jenacia. I hated to think like that but shit, if it was me they would be thinking that shit.
“Don’t even think about that shit, Jenacia would never do no shit like that. Hell, that nigga probably working with Ortiz, we need to call Tate.” He said getting up and running outside with his gun in his hand. We all followed. It wasn’t likely that that nigga was still out there, but just in case.
Kayson was right though, we had all known Jenacia for years and she was like a sister to us. She got on my got damn nerves sometimes, but I knew she was loyal to us. This shit was really fucking with me. Kayson was trying to be hard, but I could tell that he wanted to breakdown, but he was trying to be strong for us.
“Who gonna tell Ma?” Omari asked after we searched around the building making sure that we wouldn’t get any more surprises.
“I will.” Kayson said and just stood and watched as Unc’s car burned to nothing. “I will call the clean up crew to come empty this out and take it to the backup spot, just in case someone calls the cops.” We all nodded, it was just like Kayson to handle shit, and it was times like this that I appreciated his ass. “We all need to get out of here.”
“We can’t just leave Unc like this, man.” Omari said.
“He’s gone, O.” Jaako tried to reason with him.
“WE DON’T KNOW THAT!” O yelled jumping in Jaako’s face.
“Calm down man, we all need to just calm the fuck down.” Kayson said wiping his eyes. “We gotta get out of here O, I’ll call Tate so he can get his people out here before anybody else can get down here aight?” He looked in Omari’s direction. “He will be able to tell us if a body is in there or not.” He grabbed Omari’s shoulder.
“I gotta get out of here.” I said to no one in particular, shit was too heavy for me and I needed a fucking hit and bad.
“Nah bruh, we need to be together right now.” Kayson said, and for once his words were sympathetic to what the fuck I was feeling.
“I’m good, I just need to go and grab Heaven, and I’ll meet you back at the house.”
“What the fuck did I just say!” There was the Kayson that I knew. “The last thing we need right now is to get caught slipping by this nigga. We stick to fucking gether point blank period! We don’t know who the fuck he working with or where the fuck he is and until we do, we stick together.”
I understood where he was coming from I just wasn’t feeling how the fuck he was trying to handle me. He always thought he was the leader, above us and shit. I looked at him and before I could say anything a car came down the long driveway. We all drew our pieces until we saw that it was Unc’s clean up crew. Kayson walked over to holla at them.
I called and told Heaven to stay away from the doors and that I would be there to get her soon. I could tell that she was high by the slur of her voice. Once Kayson got everything squared away we jumped in the car to go get Heaven and the other girls. Shit was about to get real and fast.
Chapter Forty-Nine
Ortiz
“You get the job done?” I asked Roger as he sat on the sofa in the living room of the house we had in Troutman.
“I told you I did, didn’t I?” Roger said with a bit more bass than I allowed. I jumped up with the knife that I was using to cut my steak, and placed it at his throat.
“Who the fuck you think you talking to, I don’t like you anyway! The only reason I put up with you is on the strength of my sister.”
I knew Roger from way back when his family used to live in Rock Hill. We were tight and ran in the same circle. When I started the Ortiz boys he came to me wanting to earn a little bit of money, so I let him in on my shit. Things were going good with our little arrangement until I found out that he knocked my muthafuckin sister up. He knew just like everyone else that she was off limits.
You see my sister Maria, had a little reputation on the streets and I was trying to help her clear up her name, but the more I tried to keep her away from everybody the more she snuck and did her own thing. Had me out here shooting niggas over talking shit about her and the shit was true after all.
To make matters worse, Roger had a whole live in bitch at the time and he tried to give Maria a hard time about the baby. He even asked her to get rid of it, but we grew up Catholic, so we didn’t believe in that. He
tried some fuck shit for a while, then all a sudden, he was all for being with her and the kids. Come to find out his girl left him for Kayson Barnes. I lost all respect for him after that, now I just tolerate him for Maria’s sake.
“Come on man, I thought we were better than that?”
“Ortiz, no!” Maria’s voice snapped me out of my trance. I would do anything for her including putting up with this clown. I shook my head and returned to my seat to finish my food. Cello thought the exchange was funny.
"No one saw you?” I asked.
“They had cameras nigga, you didn’t tell me that, but I took them shits out as soon as I seen them.”
“Fuck!”
“It’s cool, hell the blast probably took that shit out, so I wouldn’t worry about it.”
“Do you know who we fucking with?” It wasn’t like I was scared of their asses or anything like that, but I wasn’t dumb either. They were as ruthless as they come. If you were coming for them, you needed to come correct or the end result would be deadly.
“Fuck them Barnes bitches, they will be alright.”
“Tell me that when they got yo’ ass hemmed up somewhere.”
“Sounds like you scared or some shit,” he smirked. See this is why I didn’t like his bitch ass. I pulled out my gun and fired a shot past his head and the little pussy screamed and ducked.
“Now who the fuck scary?” Me and Cello laughed.
I got up and went to sit on the deck. I needed to clear my mind a bit before Brayla got here. Because of the situation that I was in I wanted to make sure that the people around me that I let into my space right now were legit. I couldn’t risk having someone around that could possibly fuck around and lead them muthafuckas right to me. It was only a matter of time before they realized that I was connected to that dumb ass Roger. I didn’t give a fuck what he said, if they had cameras, they already know who did that shit.
These niggas thought they could just go around touching people’s families and shit and not have any consequences and that was the furthest thing from the truth. When they touched my parents, they opened up something in me that I didn’t even know existed. I was going to take my time and kill each and every one of them and everything they loved. Especially those beautiful women, starting with Heaven.
“Hey Papi,” Brayla announced as she entered the room.
“Take your clothes off.” I needed her to be at her most vulnerable point when I get at her about Kayson.
“Damn it’s like that, I thought we were better than that.” She sounded hurt but at this moment I didn’t give a fuck. I just needed to have this conversation with her, so I could see where her head was at. If I found out she was playing me I was gonna slit her throat right then and there.
“I just missed you, that’s all.” I tried to soften it up, but my tone was still harsh.
I had been feeling that way since I had my guys do research on her and found out that she use to fuck with that nigga Kayson. A part of me wanted to believe that she wouldn’t do no shit like that, but nowadays women weren’t shit so I needed to make sure for myself.
Once she was naked, I looked at her butter pecan colored skin and traced the curves of her body with my eyes. She was beautiful, there was no doubt about it. She definitely gave Heaven a run for her money and I could see her replacing Heaven in my life, but I couldn’t do that until the bitch was dead. So, I kept my feelings at bay for the time being. Plus, Brayla’s eyes were sneaky and my mom always said that eyes were the window to the soul.
Standing up and in front of her, I ran my arms down the length of hers and just stared at her in the eyes. Fear and lust radiated from her eyes. I turned her around and lightly pushed her on the bed and nodded telling her to slide up on the bed. Once she was where I wanted her to be, I grabbed two sets of handcuffs and cuffed her to the bed. I was a man that loved to be in control of any situation and we had been dealing with each other for a few months, so the cuffs didn’t raise any alarm.
“So, it’s one of these kinds of nights.” She licked her lips then tucked her bottom one in between her teeth.
I climbed in the bed; I was only dressed in my boxers when she came into my room, so I climbed in between her legs. The heat coming from her pleasure spot made my dick rise. I was hoping like hell that I didn’t have to kill her, but if I did I may as well get some pussy first. I smiled at the thought as I worked my way out of my boxers.
Placing my dick at her opening, I eased in and she let out a sexy moan. Her eyes rolled back into her head and she spread her legs more to give me better access.
“How do you know Kayson Barnes?” Her eyes popped open and she tried to scoot back but I grabbed her legs, that was the first sign of deceit right there. “Are you working for him?”
She gave me a confused look and then she rolled her eyes at me. “I thought he sent you to kill me since I fucked with his little girlfriend.” She let out a huge sigh and then relaxed under my hold.
“Why the fuck would you think that? I would have killed you a long time ago if that was the case.”
“Shit I don’t know, that nigga ain’t got it all and I never know how to take him. He stopped fucking with me months ago when he started fucking with that bitch he with now.”
“So, you don’t have no communication with him anymore?”
She laughed. “Why are we talking about Kayson with your dick in my guts, that’s a little weird.” I gave her a serious stare and she stopped laughing. “Man, I ain’t with that setting niggas up and stuff, I just like to have my fun and live my life, Ortiz.”
It was my turn to laugh, I didn’t need her to set anybody up, I had them niggas in a vulnerable state right now and it would be nothing to just get at them if I wanted to, but I wanted to make this fun. I needed them to suffer. I didn’t trust her ass anyway.
“Were you ever in a relationship with him?” I needed to know how deep shit went with them because I couldn’t risk her having a change of heart and risking everything that I had planned.
“Let’s just say I was in a relationship with him and he was in one with my pussy, make sense?” She rolled her eyes like I was getting on her nerves.
“So, I ain’t got shit to worry about when it comes to you and him.”
“Hell no, I wouldn’t care if that nigga died tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Was all I said because I would be keeping a real close eye on her, I didn’t trust her worth a shit. But I didn’t want to kill her right now; she may come in handy later. I grabbed the back of her thighs and watched as my dick slid in and out of her while she screamed bloody murder.
I had a lot of shit I needed to do but right now, I was gonna fuck the shit out of Brayla.
Chapter Fifty
Ann Barnes
I sat staring off into space as I listened to my boys and Tate tell me about everything that happened tonight. I couldn’t move, my body wouldn’t respond to anything, I couldn’t cry. My brother wasn’t dead, he couldn’t be dead. There was no way that he would leave us here. The only emotion that my body would allow me to feel was anger right now.
“HOW COULD Y’ALL LET THIS HAPPEN?” I jumped up and yelled. I didn’t know why I was angry at them or why I was blaming them, but that’s what was happening and for some reason I couldn’t control it. “YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT EACH OTHER.” I pointed at all of them and they lowered their heads. I wanted to comfort them so badly, but my body wouldn’t let me. I was frozen where I stood, and I shook, that’s how upset I was.
“Ma, we didn’t know.” Jaako said looking up at me. I could see the pain in his eyes, I knew they were hurting and it took me seeing that and to hear Omari sniffle to break me out of my trance and at that moment, I lost it.
“Noooooo, not my brother, God bring him back.” I cried. “Why him Lord, I need him here.”
All the boys came over and threw their arms around me and we cried together. I swear I had never seen Kayson cry until this very moment and it was then that I knew that things
would never be the same.
“We found no remains.” Tate said from his seat on the couch and I looked at him.
“So, he could still be alive?” I said with hope trying to release myself from the boys hold they had on me.
“That’s not what I’m saying, the body could have disintegrated. They are still processing the scene right now.”
“But he could still be alive?”
“There is a possibility, but there’s a problem.” Tate said and then looked in the direction of my boys. “They are investigating why he was out there in the first place.”
“And?” Kayson said.
“And there is no explanation as to why he was out there so they are gonna be looking into everything, including his family.” He raised a brow. “I more than likely won’t be around just to keep suspicion down, but you know how we operate, Ray gave me specific instructions on how to proceed if anything ever were to happen to him. So, Kayson we need to pick a spot to meet so I can keep you up to speed with the investigation, you are in charge now.”
“You can make this shit go away right; I mean you are the chief of police.” Omari asked him with red eyes.
“I can as long as they don’t bring in the DEA, then it’s out of my hands and we are all gonna be in some shit.” He gave us a serious look then he pulled Kayson to the side and talked to him about some things and then he left.
“Are y’all in trouble?” I asked Kayson when he joined us in the living room. We all had taken our seats back on the sofa.
“Nothing we can’t get out of, they just digging right now.” He shrugged trying to keep it together, but I could see the worry in his eyes but just like his father you would never know what he was feeling.
“You sure?”
“Yeah Ma.” He walked over and bent down and kissed me on the cheek. “We need to plan Unc’s memorial or something.”
