The tremors came low and deep. Rippling through her like a pebble tossed into a pond as she slowly started to cum. Stroking her pussy even harder against my mouth as I smothered her with kisses.
I made a bit of a production of getting the condom and carefully putting it on. It was a bit tight but would do, and I really wanted Sarah to know that I wasn’t trying to trap her into a relationship by having a kid. I really wasn’t ready to start a family right then. Though I was beginning to believe that I could with Sarah. It came in slow, like a gathering fog. The sensation that I might actually love her. It was like crystal wind-chimes in a summer breeze. Sarah was giggling at the absurdity of my display. I couldn’t help but laugh too. It really had looked silly. Her giggles fell silent, however, when I kissed her. Gently getting on top of her, my cock stroking up against her wet and ready pussy. Sara spread her legs further as I eased inside her. Probably wanting to take as much of my cock as possible.
Rolling gently as the ocean tide, I fucked sweet Sarah, kissing her as I thrust. The feeling absolutely heavenly, even with the condom. I meant to try and cum in her mouth, but she just felt too good. The raging flood bursting forth from within me, filling up the condom. Sarah howling like a banshee as we came in sweet unison.
We spooned again, our warm bodies pressed together in the dark. I could feel Sarah moving to leave. I held her a little tighter before releasing again. I wasn’t trying to keep her there. Just let her know that she could stay. After a moment, I could feel her relax against me.
Chapter Nine - Sarah
Everything was a matter of degrees. While what I was doing with Cooper would have been considered casual dating, probably just a couple of steps above casual sex, it was still more than I ever thought I would have. Nothing quite like having a dad in prison to color your view of men. Though, also, there was that I was all of eighteen when I made the life-changing decision to go to law school and not have a relationship ever. I thought I knew everything there was to know about life and what I wanted from it.
Cooper had screwed that right up. Though to be fair, I had started to have my doubts long before I had met him. Not wanting a relationship hadn’t kept me from getting horny, and it seemed the older I got, the higher my sex-drive rose. By the time I came across Cooper’s that fateful day I was masturbating up to three times a day. It probably would have been more if I wasn’t so swamped.
There was something about my friend’s brother that struck me like nothing else ever had. It wasn’t just his looks and body, though they didn’t hurt. It took a while to realize, but what attracted me most to Cooper was that he seemed to have a tragic element. A deep wound and a burning rage that hid a deep sensitivity. His outside bad boy persona was at least partly a way to protect himself. I could defiantly relate.
I had been playing a role, trying to change myself since my late teens. Not daring to admit to the vapid, ignorant, selfish party girl I had been. All my things bought with stolen money. The Donna Karen dress and Mustang were the only things I had left from that life, and I only kept them because they had been from my mom, who was as shocked as I was to find out what my dad had been up to. Fun had become the enemy and leisure to be avoided. I had to atone for who I had been and try and make right at least some of the damage my dad had done. I had stopped going to Mass when I was 12 but was still well acquainted with the notion of penance.
I felt sick when I woke up. I figured it must have been the Jello I’d had at midnight the previous night. A much-needed break from near relentless ravaging Cooper was giving me. I loved every minute of it but eventually needed a break to recharge. We had been dating about a month, spending every weekend together, neither of us much good for anything after a standard workday. Fortunately, we were both allowed a half-day on Friday. Cooper would be there like clockwork. Some new and interesting music playing on the radio as he whisked me away to fuck me insensible for the better part of the next two days.
It was a Saturday morning when the wave of queasiness crashed upon my shore. Cooper held me gently from behind, as was his custom. My role seemed to be a teddy bear as much as his lover. Not that I minded, of course. It felt perfect to be held like that. To feel truly loved.
I almost didn’t notice at first. The light caress of his hand as it moved over my belly and onto my pelvis. The gentle kisses on the back of my neck confirmed things even before he first touched my pussy. As Coop stared to stroke, I began to forget how sick I had been feeling. It was happening. He was going to fuck me, and I very much wanted him to.
We didn’t do oral, not that morning. Cooper didn’t even make me turn over. Tucking his hand under my knees, he pulled them up near my boobs, leaving room for him to press the warm head of his cock against my quivering pussy right where we were. He squeezed me tight and kissed my neck as he eased inside. A soft moan escaped me as our bodies came together most gracefully. Giving me a moment to get used to being filled up so deeply, the fit in my pussy still quite snug, my sexy man started to move. He worked his thick cock inside me, urging my pussy into a wonderful frenzy.
I started to whimper with the pleasure of it all, unable to contain myself. Cooper, sweetie that he was, stroked my belly as he fucked me, making me feel loved as well as filled to the brim with his massive cock working inside me.
Timing was more of a factor than one might think. There was time for him to put on a condom before commencing, which he did almost every time, though with less and less emphasis. Yet, there was also scarcely enough time for him to get his cock from my pussy to my mouth. The flood was imminent and extreme measures needed to be taken. I understood this as well as anyone and did my best to take it in stride when he slipped the massive, warm head of his cock into my tight little, virgin asshole. Barely making a sound as I bit my bottom lip.
It really didn’t hurt as much as I thought it might. There was a lot of pressure, and it kind of burned a little, but Cooper made sure to stroke my pussy as he unleashed inside me, taking the edge off considerably. I had never even considered such things but found myself wondering how anal sex might feel.
The rush was thick and warm, filling me up and warming me from the core. Cooper kissed my neck and held me tight as he gave me his load. The love between us obvious, even to someone as wary as I was at that point.
“Do you want to do something?” Cooper asked, patting me dry following our customary post-sex shower.
“I think we just did, honey,” I smirked,
“No, I meant literally. Like, do something fun with this beautiful day off. Other than the obvious, I mean. Something we can do outside, in the fresh air. Where other people are.”
“Oh, no, that doesn’t sound like an alien trying to imitate human conversation, not at all.”
“I’m trying here,” he objected.
“And it is much appreciated. I would love to do something with you,” I answered.
“Great, I just have swing by the office and get my sunglasses. Then I’m all yours.”
All mine, he was all mine. We were getting to be more like a couple all the time despite everything I had ever said or thought on the subject. My aversion attested to by the fact I was nearly thirty before finally losing my virginity. The more I thought about it, the less I minded. Even as we walk through the main doors of the Sure Thing building, hand in hand. There was still part of me that was freaked out by the idea of giving myself over so completely to someone else by the reality was starting to feel really nice.
Chapter Ten - Cooper
I could hear the shouting from the elevator. Feeling Sarah flinch I little, I gave her hand a gentle squeeze, trying to reassure her. The elevator dinged, and the doors opened like parting the curtains on a theater stage, revealing a very odd scene indeed. In the middle of the main office stood Jinx, his hands up as though in surrender. Meanwhile, Ivanov was in front of him, pressing what looked like a rolled-up envelope against Jinx’s chest. Were it not for the shouting, the entire tableaux would have come ac
ross like the world’s most surreal mugging.
“Just take the dame thing!” Ivanov was shouting.
“I won’t, and you can’t make me,” Jinx pointed out, which was technically correct.
“Yes, I can!” Ivanov shouted, shoving Jinx hard.
I knew it was coming before Jinx had even made a first. One immutable rule of the universe was that you never, ever shoved Jinx unless you wanted to get punched very hard. Considering the possible repercussions for hitting someone like Ivanov, it was clear preventative measures had to be taken.
Camilla and Sarah both screamed. Understandably so, the punch was a real doozy. Had it been almost anyone else, they would have been knocked out cold. I, however, seemed to have developed a resistance to punishment, so I was just knocked down.
“Shit, Cooper, I’m sorry man, I— ”
“Just go,” I said, wiping the blood from my mouth.
“Thanks,” he said before taking off, understanding as well as I did what I had done for him.
“Shit,” Ivanov said in amazement as I rose back to my feet like a boxer.
“What’s going on here?” I inquired.
By way of reply, Ivanov put the envelope in my hand before I was really able to stop him.
“I’m suing you, hotshot,” Ivanov smirked.
“For what?”
“Ten million for breach of contract. As well as some punitive damages for slander and loss of wages.”
“We only told the truth,” I said, quickly losing my grip on civility.
“That’s for the courts to decide.”
It was easy to close the gap, standing so close that Ivanov had to take a step back, no doubt remembering what I had done to his window. I pushed into his space, ready to face him down.
“Can I take a look?”
We both gaped as Sarah stepped up, in all her severe, power-suited glory.
“Who are you, little lady?’ Ivanov asked, in a way that made me want to slug him myself.
“Sarah Waters, Esquire. I am Mr. Jones’s personal attorney,” she said, holding out a hand for him to shake.
“The fuck is this?” Ivanov demanded.
“My right as a free American citizen,” I smirked, handing the envelope to Sarah.
“We will review the documents and be in touch,” Sarah said, all, the very picture of professionalism.
“I can’t believe you called in a layer,” Ivanov whined.
“Just a bit of insurance against scum-fucks like you. Now kindly vacate the premises before I call the police.”
“Oh, I don’t think that will be necessary,” Aden said, emerging from the break room like a giant through the mists of Avalon.
“Sweet mother of mercy!” Ivanov exclaimed, taking an entire step back.
“Not even close,” Aden said, cracking his knuckles in a way that would make Mike Tyson wet himself.
I was reasonably sure I could see a vapor trail as Ivanov disappeared. The entire office seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
“You okay, honey?” Aden asked, going to Camilla.
“Yeah, just a bit shook up.”
The best-laid plans were easily broken. It had been my idea to suggest a trip to the trampoline park that beautiful, sunny day. Part of the reason why I figured I would need my sunglasses. It would be juvenile and quirky and fun. Well in keeping with Sarah’s stated desire for something a bit different. We all needed to be a little silly sometimes. Especially with such a serious job as hers. One that was about to come in very handy.
Instead of leaving for the silly fun of the trampoline park, we went to the office boardroom, Sarah taking the papers with her. It was weird seeing her in work mode. She was usually pretty serious, except when I helped her relax. I never really questioned her abilities before, but she really knew what she was doing. It was actually kind of sexy.
I could tell it was bad, Sarah’s expression shifting in a dismaying way as she filtered through the legalese.
“Bad news?”
“Very. He is suing you for the firm’s first year of profits because you ended his contract and no one else will work with him because of the statements you made. In addition to claiming. Breach of contract, he is saying you intentionally kept him out of work.”
“Does it say why no one will work with him?” I asked, trying to hold my rage in check.
“No, it doesn’t. Please, tell me.”
“I found out that he has links to the mob. Launching money through his shoddy casinos. He wanted us, me specifically, to run a series of ads to reinvent his image. I agreed, not knowing that Ivanov’s image was well deserved. When I found out about the mob connections, I legally dropped the contract and warned all the firms I knew that Ivanov was dirty. So, they wouldn’t risk the legal implications of working with him if they didn’t want to.”
“Oh. My. God,” Sarah said, sounding well and truly shocked.
“He’s been holding something of a grudge too. This is just his most recent stunt, mostly because he knows I can’t be intimidated.”
“Intimidated?”
“You know, standard tactics. Pulling up beside me on my morning job. Sending me threats in the mail. Planting a bomb under my car. Turns out the bomb was fake, but he was still trying to get a message across. One I refused to take seriously.”
“He tried to kill you?” Sarah asked.
“No, not seriously. Though I nearly killed him when he implied her was going to rape Camilla.”
“You what!”
“Remember how my knuckles were bandaged?”
“Yeah.”
“Turns out that bullet-proof windows are really hard. That was only one of the times he tried to intimidate me from the safety of his limo. I know he was trying to get to me. I’m sad to say it worked.”
“You hit his window?” Sarah asked, by way of seeking clarification.
“More pounded, really, while hollering like a beast and running after him for a full ten blocks after he drove away. I would have curb stomped him if he hadn’t got the window up in time. You have to understand. I really love my baby sister.”
“I-I do understand,” Sarah said, putting her hand on mine.
I hadn’t even noticed that I was shaking. The darkness coming back into my heart by just relieving the terrible events. Ivanov really couldn’t scare me. Anything he could do was nothing compared to what I could and would do to myself.
“Thank you,” I whispered.
Sarah laced her fingers through mine and gently squeezed my hand. I had never really told anyone about what was happening with Ivanov. Not even Camilla. I didn’t want to worry her, even though I was pretty sure Aden would be able to help. I wanted to handle it myself.
“There is nothing wrong with asking for help,” Sarah said.
“You’re right.”
“I need to see the original contract. The one you had to cancel.”
“It’s at home.”
“Let’s go.”
Chapter Eleven - Cooper
I knew it was illogical, but that had never stopped me before. Many would reasonably ask what I was doing with a safe in the first place, but it had been a holdover from a previous life that still came in handy. The heavy, black door clanked open after the application of the combination to the keyboard built into the front. The month of Camilla’s birthday and the last two digits of my birth year, only with the order reversed. So even someone who knew me well, either by association or research, they would never be able to guess it.
It was far from the only thing in there, but the contract was still near the top. Secured in its legal envelope. One of the fancy ones that closed up with a string wound around a nub rather than sticking shut with glue.
My gaze fell momentarily on the small, black leather holster before I slammed the safe shut. The lock booming back into place.
“This is it,” I said, passing the envelope down from the top of the step ladder.
“You have a safe?” Sarah asked.
“Yes,” I said tersely, coming back down to floor level.
I never really understood the full meaning of the word ennui. Though it came roaring in with a vengeance after I gave Sarah the contract. I wanted her help, even needed it, but I still worried about what I was getting her into. I knew Ivanov couldn’t hurt me, at least not personally, and Camilla had Aden to protect her. Sarah could be in real danger if we went after Ivanov. I would do all I could, but I would always worry.
I watched as she dissected the contract at the kitchen table. Her marvelous lawyer’s brain doing things I could never really imagine. Shoes off and her legs crossed as she worked, Sarah’s hair tied back like it often was. She was also wearing a small pair of reading glasses I hadn’t seen before that she apparently reserved for long term deconstruction work. They made her look absolutely adorable.
I jumped when the doorbell rang, coming out of nowhere like a sign from high. Little did I know how accurate that metaphor would end up being.
“Sweetie!”
“Mom?” I asked, being enveloped in one of her world-famous attack-hugs.
“Of course, darling!”
“Aren’t you in Santa Fe? The whole artist’s retreat thing?”
“Don’t be silly, dear heart, and don’t be so surprised. Do you really think I would leave you alone in your time of need?”
“Time of need?”
She patted me on the cheek. “I had a vision that my baby needed me, so here I am. I know you don’t believe in my psychic powers, but that doesn’t stop them from being true.”
“Are you sure it was me? Camilla is having twins, after all.”
Mom pushed into the living room. “Oh, I knew about that weeks ago. She called me and told me herself. No visions needed. You, on the other hand, it wouldn’t be the first time I needed my psychic gift to know what was going on with you.”
It was better not to argue. Mom was right about me not believing that she was psychic, but it was mostly just a harmless fantasy.
