The Reign of Rain Robinson

What made Gavin understand that the dope game wasn’t on his path, was the day during his senior year that several lockers at his school were searched, and drugs were found. The police were called, and Gavin’s people were arrested. Although they didn’t snitch him out, he saw the life that his father planned all his life for slipping away. He could be in jail right along with them. Vince had told Gavin about his time in prison and he knew that he wanted no parts of that, so he made the decision that he was done with the drug business.
When Rain got to J.R.'s, she came in the back door to avoid the crowd and went straight to her office. Yarissa informed her that Jackie and Carter were in there waiting for her.
“What happened?” she asked as soon as she came through the door.
“The reception got hit,” Carter said.
“Who was it; Mobley or Barnes?” Rain asked as she unholstered her guns and sat down at her desk.
“I couldn’t tell, they were all wearing masks,” Carter said.
“I’ll get on my police contacts to see if they identified any of the body’s,” Jackie promised.
“First the bomb, now this,” Rain said and sat back.
“Bomb? What bomb?” Jackie asked.
“Shy and Wanda found a bomb in the ladies’ room before the wedding,” Carter said
“A bomb,” Jackie said in disbelief.
“I think the bomb was El Decreto de Guerra, so it’s either Mobley or Barnes,” Rain said. “Unless somebody made a new enemy.”
“We don’t need anybody else coming at us, not now,” Jackie said, and Rain said nothing because she knew that Monika had killed Crazy Nicky on Black’s order, so the possibility of somebody else coming at them was real.
“Anybody hurt?” Rain asked.
“Smoke is dead, and Cristal was shot.”
“Fuck!” Rain said, because Smoke was a good soldier and he had just recovered from his injuries at the hands of El Decreto de Guerra. “Is Cristal all right?”
“P and them took her to a hospital. I haven’t heard anything else about it,” Jackie said.
“Yarissa!” Rain shouted and seconds later, Yarissa came rushing through the door.
“Why can’t you use the intercom?”
“’Cause this way is easier.” Rain laughed. “I need you to find out what hospital Cristal is in and what her condition is, and do it fast,” she said.
“I’m on it, Rain.”
“Then find out if the media is on it,” Jackie added, and Yarissa left the office.
“You tell Mike?” Carter asked.
“That’s my next stop,” Rain said as her phone rang. “This Rain,” she said and listened to what the caller had to say and then put the phone down. She looked stunned at Carter and then to Jackie. “Doc is dead.”
“What?” Carter asked in shock. “I just talked to him.”
“Shot him in the head outside of his spot,” Rain informed and there was silence. The chilling silence continued as Rain dialed a number.
“Hello, Rain.”
“You home?”
“I am.”
“I’m coming to you.”
“We’ll be here,” Black said and ended the call.
When Rain stood up, Jackie and Carter both rose to their feet.
“Want me to ride out there with you?” Carter asked.
“No. I got this.”
Doc is dead. Rain felt like this was her burden to bear and she had to bear it alone. She started for the door and pointed at Carter.
“You find out if it was El Decreto de Guerra that tried to bomb the club. And do it without killing anybody else if you can help it. And you,” Rain said pointing at Jackie, “get on finding out who them niggas work for, Barnes or Mobley so I know which one to kill first. Then you get on that bomb shit with Carter,” she said and slammed the door.
When Rain got to Black’s house, naturally he knew about what happened at the reception. Once the police arrived at Cuisine and she had spoken with the Detectives, Black was the first person that Lexi called. He had spoken to Richard and had just gotten off the phone, extending his condolences to Doc’s wife, Melody.
“But it’s you I’ve been waiting to talk to,” Black said as the boss of The Family and his underboss sat down in the living room and they talked about their situation. After telling Black what she’d gotten Carter and Jackie working on, Rain immediately assumed responsibility for everything that was going on in The Family.
“Not this time,” Black said.
“Huh?”
“Not this time. I’m not gonna let you carry this on your own.”
“This is my fault. This all started because I killed DP.”
“That stupid mutha fucka brought this shit to you because—” Black paused. And then he started laughing.
“What?” Rain asked.
“Go ahead and say it,” Shy said laughing when she came in the room.
“Say what?” Rain asked.
She came and slowly eased down on the couch next to Black. “Tell her, Michael,” Shy laughed lightly and made herself comfortable leaning against him.
“You know you want to,” Black said, still laughing.
By then, Rain was laughing lightly at a joke that she didn’t know but knew was about her, as Mr. and Mrs. Black tried to compose themselves.
“When Michael told me about it.” Shy cleared her throat a little. “I said that apparently DP brought this war to you because you got good pussy,” she said and all three laughed. A long hard laugh, especially Rain. She was practically in tears, because she knew it was true. Plenty of men before DP have lost their minds over her pussy.
The only one that didn’t, got married today.
“You might as well tell her the rest of it,” Shy encouraged, but Black would have none of it.
“Oh no, Sandy C, this is your show. I was gonna say DP came at her because his weak-ass was in love with her and leave it at that.”
“Okay, okay,” Shy said and looked at Rain. “Since I said that he brought this war to you because you got good pussy, I’ve been calling it the good pussy wars.”
Chapter Twelve
When Fantasy left Cuisine with Carter after the shooting, they got in her limo and she told her driver to take them to her hotel. She had watched the shoot out from behind the bar, watched the way Carter moved and she wanted him.
Fantasy had watched him come out from behind the bar firing, killed a man, and took his weapon, killed one more man before he made it to Jackie. Just the thought of it made her wet for him and she needed to feel him inside her.
“I need to call Rain,” Carter said, and Fantasy knew that feeling him inside her wasn’t happening. “It’s Carter, the reception got hit.”
So I won’t get to feel him holding me in his arms, kissing me while I stroke his erection.
“Right after you left.”
I won’t get to feel him ease me gently down on the bed and tongue my naval while he peels off my soaking wet thong.
“Real bad.”
I won’t get to inhale his scent, kiss his lips, flick at his tongue, while he spreads my lips and fingers my clit.
“No, Bautista is there,” Carter warned.
I won’t get to feel him weave magic between my thighs.
“I’m on my way,” she heard Carter say and then he tapped the glass. “Take me to J.R.'s,” he told her driver.
“Will I see you later?”
“I don’t know,” was the answer that she was expecting but didn’t want to hear. So she was surprised when her phone rang later that evening and it was Carter.
“You alone?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll be there soon,” Carter said and ended the call.
“Yes!”
She had drifted off to sleep replaying in her mind the visuals of the shootout, so Fantasy was ready for him when he got there. She undressed Carter thinking about him and Jackie as they came up firing. Her breath got caught in her throat as she took off
his pants, stroked his dick and thought back to seeing Carter raise his weapon, firing and killing a man with several shots to the chest.
“Come on,” Fantasy said in a whisper. “I need to bathe you,” she said and led him into the bathroom. She turned on the water and once the water was warm enough, Fantasy stepped aside, and Carter stepped in.
Carter felt himself getting harder as he stroked himself and watched Fantasy stripped down to nothing and opened the shower door. As soon as she stepped in, Carter attacked her tongue with passion. Fantasy closed the shower door and took Carter’s length in her hand. His hand slid from her breasts, then to her hips, he cupped her cheeks and back up to her breasts while he kissed her. He took her nipple between his lips and sucked it greedily.
As the water beat down on her head, and not caring that her hair was getting wet, Fantasy knelt in front of him and pulled his dick into her mouth. Her skills were extraordinary, and she loved sucking his dick. Fantasy clasped her fingers together and placed them around him. She licked her lips and began to fondle his balls with one hand, and she sucked and stroked him with the other.
Fantasy stood up and Carter pushed her against the wall and kissed her again. Nibbling at her chin, sucking at the nape of her neck and squeezing her tender breasts. He eased her legs open and pinned her arms above her head with one hand while dipping his finger inside her with the other. He cupped her thighs, lifted her off her feet and thrust himself into her. As the hot water rained down on their skin, Carter bent his legs and pumped his dick into her as hard as he could because Fantasy’s pussy was the bomb.
He let her down, spun Fantasy around, grabbed her by her hips and entered her in one hard thrust. Fantasy began to squirm as she took in every inch of his dick. He let go of her hips and she began bouncing her ass against him. Carter grabbed her by the shoulders and hit it as hard as he could.
“Shit!” he shouted.
Carter let go of her shoulders and began squeezing her tits. Fantasy began to buck harder and harder, and then she screamed.
“Get this pussy, Mr. Garrison!”
Carter slammed into Fantasy so hard that it made her pussy clench as he moved in and out of her. Carter had filled every inch of her.
“You like that shit?” Carter asked as he kept on pummeling her wet pussy at a hard and steady tempo.
“I fuckin’ love that shit!” Fantasy screamed, because Carter made her forget everything that Mercedes and Jada spent months teaching her.
Then Carter increased his pace and began to long stroke Fantasy, pulling almost completely out of her then slamming it back in her. Fantasy loved it hard and began throwing her dripping wet pussy into him. Fantasy rocked her hips furiously into him until Carter’s entire body went rigid before he pulled out and exploded on her ass. Since they were already in the shower, they rinsed off and got out. Once Fantasy dried Carter and then herself, she felt like she wanted more.
“Put it back in me,” Fantasy encouraged and worked her hips into Carter while licking his nipples and his body began to tremble, but that was when his phone began to ring. Fantasy took a step back.
“I gotta take that,” Carter said.
“I know.”
He picked up his phone and looked at the display.
“Rain,” Carter said and swiped talk. “Yeah.”
Fantasy watched the expression of Carter’s face change and she knew that his next words to her would be, I gotta go. She got up from the bed and began gathering the clothes that she stripped off Carter and brought them to him.
“I’m on my way, Rain,” Fantasy heard him say and then he ended the call and turned to her. “I gotta go.”
After Carter left, Fantasy walked back toward the bedroom drying her hair when there was a light knock at the door. Thinking that it was Carter, she rushed back to the door and quickly opened it.
“Jada?”
“Hello, Fantasy. May I come in?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Thank you.”
Fantasy quickly stepped aside and admired how striking Jada looked in the sleeveless silk Marchesa printed floral taffeta cocktail dress with a ruched bodice.
Jada sat down on her couch, crossed her leg and delicately placed her hands on her knee as Fantasy stood in front of her. She was wearing the most adorable sheer lace peep toe heels and Fantasy wanted to ask if they were Jimmy Choo, but the look on Jada’s face said that this was not the time.
“This is quite a surprise. May I ask why you are here?”
“I am here to speak with you about your recent deplorable behavior,” Jada said.
“My behavior?” Fantasy question as she stood before Jada’s disapproving eyes. “Deplorable?”
“I am told that during my absence you began disgracefully throwing yourself at Mr. Garrison.”
“Mr. Garrison and I have—” Fantasy began but when Jada held up her hand, she stopped talking.
“And this shameless behavior has continued. This is not what Mercedes and I have spent months preparing you for,” Jada said looking abhorrently at Fantasy. “Look at your hair.” Fantasy’s hair was still wet from being on her knees in the shower.
“I was going to get it done in the morning,” Fantasy said, but Jada shook her head in obvious disgust.
“I have no one to blame but myself. I have been so involved in rebuilding what Simone tried her best to destroy that I wasn’t giving you the attention that you needed. But still, I am disappointed that disgracefully throwing yourself at Mr. Garrison was how you chose to spend that time instead of doing what I asked you to do.”
Fantasy dropped her head. “I’m sorry, Jada.”
“Do you even remember what that was?”
“Yes, Jada. You asked me to be seen and recognized and my objective was to observe.”
“And you chose to observe Mr. Garrison.” Jada paused. “Do you know why I wanted you to be seen and recognized while you moved about The Family?” she asked, but before Fantasy could answer, Jada said, “What am I saying, it is obvious to me that you had no understanding whatsoever of why. Had you, you wouldn’t have chosen to spend that time shamelessly throwing yourself at Mr. Garrison. And here again, I have no one to blame but myself. I should have made my wishes plain to you. I wanted you to represent me in my absence, and I mistakenly thought you were ready for that responsibility,” Jada told Fantasy. “I am sorry that I failed you in that regard as well.”
Jada stood up and walked to the door without saying another word and she left the suite. Fantasy dragged herself to the couch and plopped down. She felt defeated. But when there was a knock at the door, Fantasy bounced up and rushed to open it.
“Monika?”
“Hello Fantasy. You’re with me now.”
Chapter Thirteen
It was not a good morning as members of The Family arrived at Black’s house the following morning. It was early, and nobody wanted to be there, but there they all were. Rain was the first to arrive, she was inside eating the breakfast that M had prepared for her when Wanda got there. She made a plate for Wanda and it wasn’t long after that when Bobby reached the house and went inside. The last ones to arrive were Carter and Jackie.
“I don’t even know where to begin,” Black said and looked at a room filled with solemn faces. He shook his head. This war they were fighting had cost them greatly. They had expended resources that would have been better spent elsewhere. In terms of men with earning potential in The Family it was no different.
Chet Brightman, Jerry Demet, Gene Hazelton, Irving Spencer, Darius Wilkerson and Ed Weather; each of them had been with Black and Bobby since the old Vicious Black days. He counted each one as a friend, not just people that worked for him.
But what happened the night before had hit close to home. In Doc, Black had lost one of his oldest and closest friends. It was Black that introduced Doc to his wife, Melody. He and Bobby were at the hospital when his children, Judah and Phoebe were born. Doc wasn’t just his longest serving captain, Doc was fam
ily to Black and he was taking his death hard.
“Has anybody talked to Judah?” Black asked, and his question was met with silence.
“I’ll take care of that,” Rain said.
“No. I need to talk to him myself,” Black said.
“I’ll go with you,” Bobby said.
He wasn’t taking it well either. With him and Doc’s kids being so close in age, their families spent a lot of time together, especially when the kids were young.
“Somebody planting a bomb at the wedding …”
“I know,” Rain said. “That’s a big step up in tech for a couple of corner boys trying to come up in the game.”
“Any idea when the bomb was planted?” Carter asked.
“No, there are no cameras in the bathrooms,” Black said and thought that since this is the second time a bomb had been placed in one of their clubs that maybe it was time to reconsider that policy.
“There’s really no way of knowing exactly when it was planted,” Jackie said. “Anybody that went in that bathroom last night could have planted it.”
“That means a lot of suspects,” Shy said. “How many people knew the wedding was moved to Cuisine?”
“I’m sure just about everybody in The Family knew, plus April’s family and friends,” Rain said.
“And that doesn’t necessarily mean that the bomb was planted there for Nick’s wedding,” Black speculated. “It may have been originally planted there for The Regulators show. The timer could have been adjusted remotely when the wedding was moved.”
“You think the two are related?” Rain asked.
“I don’t know,” Black said.
“It would make sense,” Wanda said. “They detonate the bomb first …”
“And then come in blasting,” Bobby said. “I can see that. But right now, somebody needs to tell me what the fuck happened last night.”
