Hard Pass: An Enemies to Lovers Romance

by K. G. Reuss

When it was his turn, he said his vows loud and clear, his voice strong and sure.

“I, Travis Owens, take you, Alexis Hale, to be my lawfully wedded wife.”

I hadn’t seen my wedding ring. I wanted him to surprise me with it. He seemed all too eager for that and said he had the perfect ring in mind. So when he slipped the antique ring onto my finger that I’d seen in the window in Vegas nearly a year ago, I lost it. I blubbered like a baby. The ring that looked like my grandmother’s ring.

“Don’t cry, baby,” he murmured, thumbing my tears away.

“It’s so beautiful,” I choked out. “Thank you.”

  “Anything for you.”

We stopped talking long enough for the minister to finish.

“By the power vested in me by the great state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride!”

Travis’s lips crashed into mine. I twined my arms around his neck and held on for everything we were.

“I fucking love you, Alexis Owens,” he said as he pulled away.

“I love you too,” I answered, grinning up at the man of my dreams. My enemy. My best friend. My everything.

  “Challenge?” he asked.

My smile widened. “Bring it, Owens.”

He let out a laugh before kissing me again. “Are you ready for this one?”

He whispered his dirty words in my ear, making me blush from head to toe before he pulled away laughing. He led me down the aisle and out to the hall where he kissed me once more.

“So are you in?” he asked, lifting a brow at me as he referred to his challenge from earlier.

“I never back down from a challenge, Owens.”

  Acknowledgments

I want to thank Scott M, Kalli B, Charlotte S, Keshia B, Clint D, Jed F, and Dennis S for the countless hours they spent either hashing out ideas with me, making me laugh with random memes, offering me football info, or just listening to me complain about anything I felt like complaining about.

I’d also like to thank my husband for nagging the hell out of me to finish writing. Had he not intervened, I’d still be lost in a Youtube spiral.

To my street team, you guys rock my socks!

And you. Yes, you! The one reading this. Thank you so much for your support. It means the world and beyond to me.
