Gus (Bar 28 Book 1) Page 5

by JJ Harper

As his finger rubs over my sweet spot, I tug his head back and snarl, “Fuck me, now!”

Max grins at me with a smile so devilish I almost whimper. The heat in his eyes, even in this dim light, is scorching. “No problem.” He bends down to his jeans and retrieves a condom and a packet of lube from the back pocket.

“Confident, much?” I cock my eyebrow at him as he rips the foil wrapper open and deftly covers his cock.

“Optimistically hopeful.” He winks, then tears the lube open and squeezes the gel onto the fingers that were inside my arse moments ago.

I sigh as his fingers penetrate me again, coating my entrance with lube. The emptiness lasts only a second as he lines up his dick. Our eyes lock as he presses inside me, then stills, letting me adjust to his girth. Then after my nod, he continues sliding in until his balls hit my arse.

“God, you feel good,” Max mutters, pulling his hips back, only to push deeper. “So fucking good.”

He rocks into me, slowly filling me over and over again. With his head tipped back and the tendons in his neck bulging like cord, he shouldn’t look so good, but dammit, he does. He picks up speed and slams hard, almost shoving me from the bed. I grip his arms and wrap my legs around his waist and hold on tight. He hits my prostate with each thrust. I’m not going to last long. I let go of one arm and fist my dick, stroking hard and fast.

“I’m going to come.” I grunt as my balls tighten. Not a second later, I erupt, sending ribbons of cum over my abs.

“Fuck, yes!” Max cries out, then goes rigid as he fires deep into the condom.

Max breathes heavily as the final shocks of his epic orgasm shudders through his body, his hands on either side of my head, arms straight and locked at the elbow. He smiles down at me, his dimples making him look like the naughty kid that always gets his own way. Which I suppose is what’s just happened. Is he going to run out on me now, play the same game as I did on Saturday? Is this payback time?

“Stop frowning, babe.” He smirks and kisses me. It’s a long lazy kiss that makes my heart thump hard as if it’s pounding out of my ribcage. My head is full of him, the feel of his hot skin where our hips are pressed together; his faintly lemony scent, now overshadowed by the stronger aroma of his clean sweat after the sex we’ve just had; he pants as he comes down from his high. I still feel him inside me, even as he stays motionless. The spasms of aftershock from his orgasm are sending sparks through me.

His words bring me back to the present, and I straighten my features before smiling at him. Honesty is the best policy. “I’m wondering if you’re going to leave me, as payback for Saturday night.” I keep my voice as level and nonchalant as I can.

“No, baby. I’m not going anywhere. Not tonight.” His eyes are fixed on mine. “Or any other day. You’ve got me hooked, August Andrews.”

Before I can even make a coherent comment, Max reaches down between our bodies, clasps the top of the condom, and slowly pulls out of me. The drag of his still semi-hard dick against my muscle walls makes me shudder. My dick gives a half-hearted twitch of interest. Then I’m empty and Max moves away from me.

He ties a knot in the end and, spotting the waste bin, drops the soiled rubber in. He saunters back, the thick length of his cock hanging heavily between his thighs. It really is a dick to be proud of.

I shift from the centre of the bed up to the end and grimace. I’m still covered in my cum. I grab some tissues from the side table and wipe up the sticky mess. Cold cum really is gross. Once that’s done, I switch off the light and lie down and wait for Max to join me.

As soon as he’s next to me, I snuggle in close and rest my head on his chest. His arm tucks around me and pulls me closer. “Goodnight, baby,” Max murmurs into the darkness.

“Why do you call me that?” I say into his chest.

“It feels right with you. Everything feels right with you. Do you mind?”

“I’ve never liked it before. I think I’m surprised to hear it. I wouldn’t have thought it would be something you’d say. It seems very soon to use it, but from you, I don’t hate it.”

“Good, I’m going to be saying it a lot.”

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re a cocky bastard?” I press a kiss on his chest.

“All the time, but you like it. You like me too. You just don’t think you should.”

I wake up in an empty bed. At least this time I know he hasn’t done a runner. I stretch out in the surprisingly comfortable bed. Not what I would’ve expected for student accommodation. I hear the toilet flush and then running water. After a couple more minutes, Gus returns to the bedroom.

“I didn’t think you’d do a runner from your own bed.” I grin at him, my arms folded behind my head as he clambers back into bed.

“No, sorry, I had to pee.”

I reach for him. I want my morning kiss. As I press my lips to his, he hesitates for a second but then relaxes. Morning breath is not going to be a deal-breaker for me. My tongue teases over the seam of his lips, nudging for access. Then he parts them enough to flick his tongue against my own. Before long, his tongue dips into my mouth and brushes lazily over mine. We let them tangle together as our hands roam over each other’s bodies.

His dick pulses against mine, and a little moan escapes me, at the same time as a bead of precum leaks from my slit. I cant my hips, letting his gorgeous cock slide up my painfully hard erection.

I pull my face back. “Do you have condoms, or are we embracing morning frottage?”

“I have condoms and lube, but frotting is all good too.”

“It’s not the same as sliding inside you, baby.” I use the endearment he’s not used to as I gently roll him onto his back, then lie over him. I love how eager he is, how responsive his body is to mine. My foot nudges his legs open, and he bends them, placing his feet on the mattress.

“I’m not going to argue with that.” He kisses me again.

This time, when we’re both covered in cum again, I drag him into the bathroom and turn on the shower. We take our time, lazily washing each other, interspersed with more kissing, but we manage to stay away from our dicks. I’m not sure his arse can cope with any more action. He’s an enthusiastic lover and knows what he wants, and my dick isn’t small.

“What would you like for breakfast?” he asks as we get dressed. I stop with what I’m doing and watch him as he bends over and steps into his boxers, then pulls on jeans and an old Maccabees band T-shirt.

“Have you got time to go out and grab something?” I ask once I’ve wiped off the drool and can form a coherent word.

“Yeah, I don’t need to be in college until ten. Our lectures haven’t started yet, but I’ve got to organise my timetable, get lab time booked in, and generally get my shit together.”

“Why are we up so damn early, then?” I roll my eyes at him.

“Um, I think that has something to do with you and your monster dick.”

Laughing, I shuffle in close and kiss him and cup his package in my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Are you ready to start something again, August?”

“Ugh, don’t call me that. The only person who gets away with it is my mother.” I grimace, which only makes him laugh.

“Okay, then, baby, are you willing to bend over for me again?” I murmur huskily into his ear, then lick the shell.

He shudders and undoes the button on his jeans, pulls the zip down, and pushes them off his hips. “I’m never going to say no to that,” he whispers against my lips.

We make it for breakfast at a local old-school café, a proper greasy spoon, but it serves the best fry-up in town.

“Are you going to be able to eat all that?” My eyes boggle at the size of the huge plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, and fried bread in front of him.

“Just watch me. I’ve burnt a shitload of calories this morning and last night. It was quite a workout.” Gus grins.

My plate has the same food but not the gargantuan amount of his.
I don’t recall you protesting?” I start to laugh, but all we do is stare at each other like a pair of love-drunk fools. What? Love? No, I mean lust-drunk.

“Nope, I’m never going to complain about that.” He picks up his cutlery and eats.

  “Neither am I.”

“Is that because you like sex or because you liked it with me?” Is he fishing for a compliment, or does he really want to know if I think this could go somewhere?

I lean back in my chair. After he left on Saturday, I need to know if this is another hook-up. Time to put my cards on the table. “Honestly? It’s because it’s you. I haven’t met anyone like you before. You’re amazing, Gus. I really fucking like you.”

“I really like you too.” He ducks his head as a blush colours his cheeks.

“Enough to go out with me, to be exclusive?”

He sits still, a frown marring his forehead, his fork halfway to his mouth. I can almost see the cogs whirring in his head. I hold my breath. Is he as into me as I am in him? Does he think what we’ve got is real? “Yes.” He barks a laugh, then grows serious again. “There’s a but, though, Max. You can’t be my bodyguard at work. Flirting and laughing with the customers seems to be part of my job, and it’ll give me more tips. I’d quite like those. This year is important. I want to graduate, with honours if possible, and it’s going to be my main focus. I needed a job but only for three, maybe four shifts a week. Saturday was about having fun, a sort of fling before the hard work starts, but it turned into something more. I want to try this too, Max, but you have to understand that I need to work hard as well. If you’re not okay with that, I can’t do this.”

I blow out a breath and relax. “Okay,” I grumble, pretending to be annoyed. “But no going out with Beck, not without you telling him you’re with me now.” He’s not the only one to make rules.

“Sure. I can do that. Shall we go on a date, then?”

“Definitely, especially if it includes you dancing with me again.” I imagine him pressing much closer up to me now that it means more.

After saying goodbye to Gus, I walk to the bar. When I step inside, I’m wearing the biggest grin imaginable. Jonas straightens from below the bar top, where he must be restocking the mixers.

“Now that’s a different look than you left with last night. You care to explain?”

“You’re looking at a man who had four orgasms since last night annnnnnd”—I tap out a drumroll on the bar—“has a boyfriend.”

“Gus? Good for you. He seems great,” Jonas says without any hint of disapproval or further patronising comment.

“Is that it? You’re not going to tell me I’ve got no chance of keeping him or that he’s too young. You usually have something to say.”

“No, I think that, for how little I know him, he’s nice. You really like him, Max. I haven’t seen you that bummed out over a man for a long time. I hope you’re happy together.” Then he grins cheekily. “Four orgasms, at your age? I’m impressed.”

“Fuck off. You’re older than me. That should be something for you to worry about. You need a man. It’s been months since your dick got wet.”

“No, I don’t. I’m busy enough here. I worked over sixty hours last week. I don’t have time to meet anyone, let alone try to have a relationship.”

I think back to how many hours I did last week, and it isn’t that different from him. Jonas has never been one to have a lie-in in the morning. He’s always up as soon as he wakes up. I’ve joked about his OCD tendencies to obsess over every detail, but he does all the behind-the-scenes work here without question. “Why don’t we shift around a bit. I can do the stocktaking and ordering. That will free up some mornings for you. Be honest. What time did you leave here last night and get here this morning?”

“I don’t mind. You know that,” he says, dodging the question.

“I know you don’t, but you should. I doubt you’ve had more than about four hours sleep.”

“Leave it, Max. I’m fine. I don’t need what you want.” He picks up an empty crate and walks out of the bar. “So, tell me what makes Gus so special?”

“He’s amazing. From the minute I saw him, he had me captivated. He’s so smart but not a show-off about it. He’s funny, and shit, I don’t know. It’s like everything is easy with him. We don’t have awkward silences, and the sex is off-the-charts hot. I can’t get enough of him. I want to know everything about him.”

“It sounds like you’ve found your person. Good for you, Max.”

I follow Jonas, but whereas he goes to the storeroom, I walk to the office. Gus is coming back in at four to sort out his shifts, and I know I’m going to watch the clock until then. Damn, I’ve got it bad. I need to see which shifts are available. He’s already told me he can only take three or four. I want some of those to be with me, or we’ll never see each other. We may still need to take on another employee. I’ve jumped in when needed. Also, the other guys have been working extra, but they must have enough of not having a social life. Beck has for sure. He’s been pulling double shifts for weeks now.

Wednesdays are never too busy. Sawyer will be in later. Another gorgeous man for Gus to work with. I’m going to have to let them know he’s off limits. He’s going to have everyone after him, and I promised I wouldn’t act all caveman in front of the others or the customers.

“Why are you frowning?” I jolt at Jonas’s question.

“I didn’t realise I was. I’m checking what hours Gus could take. He could start right away, but then he gets to work with Sawyer.”

“What’s wrong with Sawyer? He’s a great guy.”

“Exactly. The guy is over six foot of blond sexiness. Why wouldn’t Gus want to climb him like a tree?”

“Um, because he likes you. He wants to go out with you. And don’t let this go to your head, and if anyone asks I’ll deny it, but you’re a good-looking fucker too. If Gus goes for you, then maybe he prefers dark-haired men to blonds. You’re safe with him. Not every man is a cheater.”

“I know that, but if anyone could make a man look twice, it’s Sawyer.”

“But after what happened to him with Danny, there’s no way he’s ever going to go near someone else’s boyfriend.”

I didn’t think of that, and Jonas has a point. Sawyer was devastated after he found out his boyfriend had been dating someone else. “You’re right, and thank you. It’s just, well, it feels right, like I’ve been waiting for him.”

“Oh god, if you start going all starry-eyed and spouting poetry, I’m leaving.”

“Fuck off.” I laugh and take up the sheet again. “We’re going to have to get someone else.”

“I know. I was thinking the same thing. Shame none of the other applicants were any good. I’ll give it a couple of weeks. More students will be turning up and looking for work.”

“Maybe employ some straight ones. Men who won’t lust after my boyfriend.”

After saying goodbye to Max, which had him unashamedly kissing me, I go to my lecture. It’s time to clear my head of the fantastic night and morning we’ve had and concentrate on my study. This is my final year, and I’ve got a lot of work to do. I can’t afford to get obsessed with the hot and sexy man who knows how to press all my buttons. My phone pings. It must be either Liam or Will. I did swap numbers with Max, but he has no reason to be in touch with me so soon. As I pull my phone out of my pocket, it pings again. Yep, it’s Will, wanting to meet for coffee at lunchtime. I reply with a thumbs-up emoji, then put my phone on silent and go inside.

“Just how much sex have you had?” Liam asks he pulls open the door of Beanz, our favourite coffee shop.

“What? I’m not telling you that.” I scowl at him, but a blush heats my face. They were surprised enough when I told them Max and I were going to date.

“It must have been a lot. You’re walking like John Wayne!” He guffaws and high-fives Will.

“Fuck off!” I laugh. “Max has a monster dick. You’d be feeling it too.” I hurry to the counter
and get our coffee orders in. With three cups, I join Will and Liam at the table they were lucky enough to snatch.

“I can’t believe you have a boyfriend. Not that you shouldn’t or that you can’t get one. I mean, you haven’t been bothered with going out with anyone for ages.”

“I know, and I wasn’t expecting anything from it, from him. He was a hot hook-up on Saturday. That was all. I can’t explain how intense it feels when we’re together. It’s so different from anything I’ve had before. I’m excited about what may happen.”

“You lucky bastard. I could do with a good dicking. It’s been far too long since I got any action,” Will grumbles.

“You need to come to the bar. Some really cute guys work there.” Hmm, maybe Beck or Leo would be interested in him.

“Yeah? Maybe I will.” He takes a sip of his coffee. “What time have you got to be there today?”

“I’m not starting work yet. It’s just to discuss my hours. As much as I’d love to have as many hours as I can get, I have to be realistic and make sure I can still fit all my studying in.”

“Is working with Max going to be a good or bad thing?” Liam asks.

“I doubt I’ll see much of him. I don’t really know the way he and his brother divide the work. We haven’t talked about it much.”

Will laughs and rolls his eyes. “Yeah, we can tell.”

“Fuck off.” I elbow him in the ribs. Coffee with them is fun and light-hearted, even with all the embarrassing questions. We arrange to see each other on Saturday.

When I enter Bar 28, Max is behind the bar, talking to a sexy tall, blond man. I guess he’s one of the bartenders I haven’t met yet. As if he feels my presence, Max jerks his head in my direction and rakes his gaze over my body like I’m naked. His eyes brighten, and the tip of his tongue peeps out and dampens his lip.
