Gus (Bar 28 Book 1) Page 6

by JJ Harper

“Gus, come and meet Sawyer.” Max beckons me. I walk up to the bar and extend my hand out to the sexy blond. Do they only employ seriously hot guys? Up close, this guy is even better looking. He could be a fucking supermodel. Is Max going to stake his claim, or will he let me be the new guy?

“It’s nice to meet you.” I try not to stare at him too much.

Sawyer shakes my hand, his deep green eyes giving me the once-over. “Nice to meet you too. I think we’ll probably have a few shifts together if you’re taking over from Mark.”

“Cool. I’d better go and find Jonas. I’m here to talk shifts.”

Max steps from behind the bar. “I’ll see you in a few, Sawyer. Gus, I’ll come down to the office with you.”

As soon as we walk through the door, Max pulls me to him and kisses me, a deep, long kiss that has my toes curling. “I’ve missed you.” He breaks away but keeps his arms around me.

“It’s only been about five hours, Max.” I chuckle. “But for what it’s worth, I’ve missed you too. And Liam and Will told me I was walking like a cowboy today.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment.” He laughs.

“I thought you’d like it. Your monster dick is very good at what it does.” I lean into him and kiss him again. I don’t seem to be able to get enough of him. “And it can come out anytime it likes.”

“Hmm, I’m pleased to hear that.”

“Now, let me go. I need to talk to Jonas. I won’t be long.” As I try to pull away, his hands tighten on my waist. I peck another kiss on his lips. Then finally, he releases me. “Go back to the bar, Max.” I give him a gentle shove in the direction of the bar. “Wait. Why didn’t you tell Sawyer about us?”

“I didn’t know if you’d want me to.” He shrugs. “I thought that you’d want to get to know him first.”

“Thank you, Max.” I’m happy he thought of me. I don’t want to be the new boy and the boss’s boyfriend. I’m not sure that will go down too well. Beck and Leo know we hooked up, but they don’t know any more than that. And if Max stops glaring at every man who speaks to me, we can keep it under wraps for a little longer, just until I’m settled in with the guys. I knock on the office door, and Jonas shouts to come in.

“Hi, Jonas, is this a good time for you? I’m a little early.”

“Yes, sure. Take a seat. I’ve got a copy of the rota and highlighted where we need staff. You can pick which ones suit you. It’s your last year at uni, right? So I’m guessing you have a lot of work on dissertations and exams. Make sure you have time to do that. Don’t pick hours just to please me. I’d rather employ another member of staff than have you struggle to do both.”

He slides a piece of paper with stripes of bright yellow highlighter pen to me. I pull my timetable out of my bag and figure out which shifts I can work. I have to earn money, so I try to pick the ones that have the most chance of decent tips.

I don’t know what hours Max works. Maybe I should ask. Is being on shift with him a good thing or not? I don’t want to pick every night he’s off, or we’ll never get to see each other. Before I can decide, the door opens, and Max walks in.

“Do you want some help?” He leans over me, looking at the sheet. “I don’t want us to never get to see each other.” He mirrors my own thoughts, but my eyes dart up to Jonas. Has Max already told him we’re dating?

“Max came floating in this morning, Gus. You don’t need to worry. He’s told me all about you,” he says.

“And I’ve already told him he has to leave me alone while I’m working. So as long as he doesn’t pee a circle around me when I’m here, I don’t mind doing shifts with him.” I mock glare at Max, but he simply grins and plants a kiss on my mouth.

“Good for you.” Jonas chuckles. “You already have got his number.”

It takes me ten minutes to pick out three shifts—Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday evenings—and the possibility of another if I need it. I’ll be with Max on Wednesday for about four hours, then Thursday evening. He works Fridays, but downstairs, and does every other Saturday. We still have days we could arrange to meet, and I have plenty of study time.

“Here you are.” I hand Jonas back the sheet of paper. “These will be best for me.”

“Thanks, Gus. We can work with that.” Before I have a chance to say goodbye to Jonas, Max has laid a hand on the small of my back and propels me out of the office.

“I’ll walk out with you.” Jonas’s laugh still booms after Max has closed the door.

“You’re here tomorrow night and Friday, and I have to work Saturday. When can I take you on a date?” Max grumbles.

“Oh, poor Max. How about tonight or Sunday?”

“I can’t plan anything well in time for tonight, and Sunday is ages away.”

“We can still see each other, Max. We could have dinner together tonight, something simple. Dates don’t have to be planned. I want to spend time with you too. I don’t care what we do or where we go.” I lean into him, and he wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my forehead.

“You’re right. We can go out tonight, then maybe back to my place?” he murmurs, his lips against mine.

“Hmm, you want me naked again, don’t you?”

“I happen to like it when we’re both naked.”

“What time do you want to pick me up?”

“I’ll be at your place at half past seven. We can go for a drink before having dinner.” He releases me, and I walk down the corridor. I feel his eyes on my arse, so I shake it for him. “Oh, Gus?” I turn, with my hand on the door handle, and wait for him to continue. “Wear the eye make-up and pack your bag. You won’t be going home tonight. And if you shake your arse at me again, be prepared for me to spank it.”

“I’ll be sure to remember that.” I wink and shake it again. His laughter follows me as I walk out of the hallway.

“So that’s Gus, is it?” Sawyer smirks when I join him at the bar. My lips feel swollen after that kiss, but I still grin.

“That depends on what you mean by that.” I narrow my eyes.

Sawyer blushes and looks embarrassed. “I thought you hooked up with the new guy who’s working here. At least, that’s what Leo and Beck said. Have I got it wrong?”

“It’s more than a hook-up, and he didn’t know I owned this place. Before anyone starts kicking off about favouritism.”

Sawyer holds up his hands. “Max, okay. I get it, and you know we’re not like that. The others really like him. I’m sure I will too.”

“I know. I’m sorry. He’s not sure he wants anyone to know, but there are never any secrets here, are there? Not for long anyway.” I shrug. “Do you need me here?”

“Nope.” Sawyer shoos me away, and I head back to the office.

A few minutes and even more kisses later, Gus has his hours, and I have a date with him to organise.

When I knock on Gus’s door at seven thirty, butterflies are dancing in my stomach. How stupid is that? There’s no need to feel nervous. We already know we like each other, that we’re incredible in bed together. On the other hand, we don’t know much else about each other. That’s why people go on dates, dipshit.

“Talking to yourself, Max? Should I be worried?” he grins and opens the door wider to let me in.

Fuck! I’m going to have to hide my fucking hard-on all night. “Gus, baby, you look incredible.” I grab his hips and pull him close. He doesn’t wear as much make-up as he did on Saturday, but the black kohl around his eyes accentuates the amazing difference of his irises. “I love your eyes,” I whisper as I kiss from his temple down to his jawline. Then with a scrape of my teeth, I make my way to his mouth.

“Do we have to go out?” Our mouths are so close Gus’s breath is warm on my lips.

As I lean closer still, a small moan escapes him. “Yes, baby. It’s a date.” I brush over his mouth, from corner to corner, kissing and nibbling at his lips. I trace the seam with my tongue as he parts it and lets out another mewl.

“Kiss me, Max,” he pleads quietly.

“I’m doing.” I lick over his bottom lip, then tug it between my teeth. Gus pushes his hips into mine, making me release his lip and groan at the sensation. This isn’t going to happen yet. I want him begging by the time we get to my place. “Come on, we’re going on a date. Have you got your bag?”

“Huh?” Gus stares at me, his pupils blown and confusion all over his face. “No, I can’t go like this. My dick is killing me.”

“Nope, it’s date night. We have all evening to make your dick feel good. Let’s go.”

“I hate you,” Gus grumbles as he walks awkwardly and gets his bag.

“No, you don’t.” I snigger and adjust my own erection, willing it to go away.

Outside, I lead him to my car. “We can take the car back to my place, then walk into town. Your bag can stay in it for now.”

“Where are we going?” Gus asks as he waits for me to unlock the doors.

“That depends on how hungry you are. We can go for a couple of drinks, then for something to eat, or we can go straight for food. It’s your call.”

We end up opting for a drink first. Gus talks animatedly about his studying and his friends but not much about his parents.

“You’ve come a long way from home. In fact about as east as you can get. Was there a reason?” I ask as I take a gulp from my pint.

“The university here offered the best physics programme. My parents are good people, but I needed to get away to somewhere more alive than my small town. My parents are a little eccentric and get lost in themselves. I needed to spread my wings, to learn how to be me. Does that make sense?”

“Of course it does, baby. Do they know about your look? They know you’re gay, right?”

“Yeah, they know. They had bets on when I’d come out to them. My mum won. She wins nearly all the bets. She knows me very well. Too well, sometimes.” He shrugs and sips at his violet gin. “Do you get on well with yours?”

“Not really. When both Jonas and I realised we were gay, my dad kind of wrote us off. He didn’t want us to go to the pub with him anymore or watch the footie together. We stopped being his sort of men. My mum is a bitch and doesn’t care what we do or who we are. I’m too old to give a damn.”

  “How old are you anyway?”

“I’m thirty. Is that going to be a problem?” I smirk. By the way he looks at me, he doesn’t care at all.

“Hmm, I’ll cope.” He gives me the cutest smile. Impish little bugger.

“I thought you would. Are you ready to go? I need to go for a pee. Then we can get some food.” I down the last of my pint.

  “Sure.”

I get up and head to the men’s room at the back of the bar.

When I get back to our table, four men are standing around Gus. They don’t look threatening unless I count the fact that these men are much bigger than him. I recognise one of them. He goes to the same gym as me. He’s a wanker who thinks he’s god’s gift on earth. What are they doing?

Gus seems relieved to see me. His shoulders relax, although his smile is still a little tight.

“Hey, Grant, what’s up?” Grant tenses and narrows his eyes at me.

“Oh hey, Max. I didn’t see you here. How’re things.”

“All good.” I hold out my hand for Gus. “Ready, baby?”

He nods. “I told you I wasn’t here alone.” He gives them a withering look.

I glare at the four men. “Leave him alone. He’s mine.”

The men I don’t know glower at me until Grant pushes one on the shoulder. “Let’s go before we’re barred from every pub in town.”

I pull Gus into my arms. “You okay?”

“Yeah, they were kind of intimidating. I’m not sure they appreciated the eyeliner.” He lets out a dry puff of laughter.

“It’s a good job they don’t matter. And I fucking love the eyeliner.” I cup his face and kiss him in front of the whole pub. The bar business is a small world, and a lot of people know and like me. Word will get around that Gus is mine.

We wander down to one of my favourite Italian restaurants. Gus’s eyes light up, and he grins at me. “I love this place. They have the best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted.”

“You’d best leave some room for it, then.”

Gus finally puts his spoon down on the plate. “Have you finished making sex noises?”

“Only in here. I plan to make a lot more of them when we get to your place,” he says without lowering his voice. The older couple next to us stare but don’t comment. Gus pays them no attention.

“Then we’d better go. I can’t wait to hear them.”

This time when we get inside my apartment, Gus knows his way around and doesn’t hesitate to lead me to my bedroom.

He sits down on the edge of the bed and undoes the laces on his boots, then kicks them away. “What are you going to do with me tonight?”

“Fucking everything,” I growl. “So get naked.” I watch with a little amusement and a shit-ton of arousal as Gus peels his clothes off for me. I love that he has no shame getting naked. Not that he has any reason to. His body is perfect.

As soon as he’s bare, I lean over him and kiss him the way he wanted me to earlier. My tongue slips between his parted lips, and he immediately sucks on it, then strokes his own over and around it. I wrestle with my clothes and manage to get my jeans and underwear down my legs, but I have to break apart to finish with the rest.

“Slide up the bed, baby,” I croon and crawl up after him. I settle between his spread legs and take his dick into my mouth. The taste of his precum bursts onto my tongue. He’s so close to the edge I’ll have to slow down. I don’t want this over with too quickly. Not that I’m only planning on fucking him once tonight.

“Don’t go slowly. I need this one fast. We can go slow the next time. I need you inside me, Max, please.”

I let out a groan as he pulls me up and kisses me. “Fuck me hard, my lover.”

Joy floods my heart at his endearment, and there’s no way I can say no to him. I reach over to the drawer and pull out lube and condoms. I throw the lube in his direction. “Prep yourself. I want to watch.”

Jubilantly, Gus grabs the bottle, squirts the gel onto two of his fingers, and circles his hole, then penetrates himself. I push his knees up and get back between his legs. My cock jumps, leaking precum from the tip.

“More. Go deeper. You know I’ll stretch you.” I pick up the condom and tear it open, quickly sheathe my aching cock, then snatch the lube from the bed and squirt some onto the latex. I work it up and down at the same pace he finger fucks himself. My fingers are still coated, so I line two up with his and slide in with him.

“Fuck, yes!” he cries out. “God, that feels so good. More!”

“You’re a greedy boy tonight. Maybe I should go back to taking it slow.” I bend my head and take him into my mouth again, sucking him to the back of my throat while we both stretch him.

“Enough. I’m ready.” Gus pulls his fingers out and wriggles his hips until I release him from my mouth.

“Get on your knees and hold on to the headboard. I’m going to make you scream, baby.” I scoot back to give him room, and soon I’m eye level with the most perfect, high, round, and creamy white-in-the-moonlight arse. I kiss each cheek, then run my tongue from his taint up his crease to the base of his spine and back again. Gus’s hips undulate as I worship him with my mouth. With a grin, I slap my hand down on one cheek and suck hard enough to leave a bruise on the other.

“You fucker!” He barks out a laugh but only continues to taunt me with his swaying. I smack him again, then line my dick up with his now supple hole. His efforts allow me to glide in, in one stroke. Ripples of pleasure roll like a wave down his back. I’m doing this. I’m making this amazing man feel like this.

He wants me. No one has ever thought I was anything more than a fit body and a big dick. But as he looks over his shoulder at me, I know I’m falling for him. No, scrap that.
I’m already in love with him.

“Have you forgotten what to do?” He snarks at me with a grin, then pushes back.

“You’re gonna regret saying that, baby.” I pull back until only the crown of my dick is inside him, then with a grunt and a flex of my hips, I punch back inside him. The oof of air as it leaves his lungs is followed by a deep animalistic groan and the demand for more.

We set up a punishing pace with Gus riding me as much as I’m fucking him. We work in perfect synchronicity, like practised lovers, so familiar with each other’s bodies. It’s everything sex should be—hot and dirty, loud and noisy with moans of pleasure, grunts for faster and harder, sticky and sweaty, yet so much more. Streams of sweat glisten down his back and over his bum and thighs. The air is filled with the debauched sounds of slick skin slapping over and over again. But it’s not enough. I want to watch his face when we come. I need to be able to look in his eyes, to see the way the green and blue flash with silver flares as he stares into my own. I pull out, and he cries out at the loss.

“On your back, babe. I want to see you as we come together.”

Gus shifts quickly and is on his back with his knees up by his chest. As I rut back in, he winds his legs around my waist, his heels jamming into my arse, fixing, holding me into position as I take him hard, hitting his prostate again and again. I keep my gaze fixed on him, watching every changing expression, the spark in his eyes, and the set of his jaw as Gus allows his orgasm to climb.

“Oh god, Max, yes. Fuck, yes!” Gus cries out as he throws his head back. His eyes flutter shut, cutting my connection to his heart. His jaw locks, and the tendons in his neck tense up. With a roar, he comes, a splash of fluid hitting my stomach, the muscles in his arse contracting around my dick.

“Shit, Christ, Gus! Oh, my fucking god. Yes,” I shout out as I orgasm. My balls feel like they’re on fire as they tighten, forcing my load from my body. The heat and flood of my release fill the condom, and for a fraction of a moment, I imagine there not being a barrier between us. We’ve known each other for five days, and it’s not enough. I want every day with him. My heart is telling me he's the one.
