  Trevor closed his eyes.

I knew there was a risk he might reject me because he’d never shown interest in me before, but I figured I had a good shot at him saying yes after he’d just gone down on me. But for a moment, I was second-guessing my boldness.

I started to let go, and he clamped his hand around mine.

His lids slowly lifted. “I don’t have a rubber.”

I grinned. That was a problem I could work with.

“Do you have anything you don’t want to give me?”

  “No.”

“Same goes for me. And since I can’t get pregnant…” I moved onto my knees and put my mouth next to his ear. “Besides, if you can’t fuck your wife without a condom, who can you?”

He groaned. “Fuck. When you put it like that, who am I to argue?” Grinning, he nudged me until I fell on my back.

I laughed at first until he pushed his swim trunks off. I sighed at the sight of him and licked my lips.

  His cock was beautiful.

“I want to taste it,” I blurted out.

“Later,” he said, positioning himself between my thighs. “I don’t know when someone else is going to come in the house, and I would really hate to be interrupted.” He brushed his shaft over my pussy, coating himself in my desire. “So wet,” he said under his breath to himself.

  “Good—”

  Trevor pushed himself inside me.

“Point.” I sucked in a breath and clenched the bedding in my hands. “Holy shit,” I panted.

He licked his thumb and rubbed my clit. “Are you okay?”

  “No.”

An eyebrow went up, and his thumb froze. “No?”

“No. But in the best possible way. It’s been a while since I’ve had sex, and I need a moment to adjust to your size.” I grinned.

“That’s a pretty good problem to have, I guess.” He pushed his thumb down into my wetness and back up to my clit. “But I’d better make sure you feel more than just good.”

I tightened around him as he circled my nub, and he began to rock back and forth, shallow at first.

But it wasn’t long before I adjusted to his size. I cupped my breasts in my hands and pinched my nipples. “Oh God. Oh, yes. I’m so close. Please, please, please, I need to come.”

As I was right on the edge, Trevor took my hands in his, shoving them above my head as he drove into me. His cock hit my G-spot as his pubis did the same with my clit.

My orgasm slammed into me. My whole body tightened as my breath was pulled from my lungs. Waves of pleasure coursed through me, and I squeezed his ass with my legs, afraid he’d leave my core before I was done.

Just as quickly as I had tensed up, every muscle loosened until I was a pile of bliss.

I blinked my eyes open just as Trevor let go of one of my hands and wrapped his fingers lightly around my neck.

“I’ve been waiting to kiss you again since you dropped me off at the airport.” Not letting go, he took my mouth as he began to thrust into me.

He felt amazing as he moved in and out of me, and his kisses were like fire. I ran my hand down his back. I wanted to touch him everywhere just to make sure what was happening was real.

As his pace quickened and his strokes got harder, he released my lips and stared into my soul. Just as his climax hit, my eyes widened as I felt his seed inside me, and I surprisingly came again.

Trevor’s upper body collapsed on top of me as the hand around my neck loosened and fell away. He managed to find enough energy to roll to his side, taking me with him.

“Holy shit,” he muttered, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling my lower body snug with his. He was still inside me, and this pushed me deeper. “I don’t want to ever leave.”

I smiled and kissed his chest. “I’d like to think I’m that good, but it’s probably the no-condom thing.”

He shook his head, his chin rubbing the top of my head. “No. Lorraine and I dated for a long time, so we didn’t use anything but the pill. It’s all you, Alexis.”

My smile turned into a grin. “Be careful, or I’ll get a big head.”

“As long as I get to fuck you again, I don’t care.”

I planted soft kisses on his neck and hoped he liked the next thing I said. “We are married. Don’t you think we should be able to enjoy each other while we stay that way? It’s only fair. We’re not sleeping with anyone else.”

He rolled us, so I was on my back again. “That’s good because now that I’ve been inside you”—he cupped my breast and sucked on the tip—“you’re mine.”

I hadn’t known Trevor would be this possessive. Our marriage was only temporary, but I couldn’t stop the thought that I wanted to be his forever.

  Chapter Twenty-Three

  TREVOR

The next morning, I kissed Alexis’s naked back and slipped out of bed. I didn’t wake her, figuring she needed her sleep.

After I’d caught her with her vibrator and we had amazing sex, we’d gone back outside before everyone began to wonder about us. But as soon as we’d finished dinner, we’d gone back to bed, so we could screw again.

I hated to think of my brother when I thought of my wife, but the guy was absolutely nuts to let someone like Alexis go. She was kind, successful, and determined. She loved her family, and she was phenomenal in bed. I didn’t think a man could ask for a better partner.

And speaking of my brother, Kevin was sitting at the dining room table when I walked out of my bedroom. He was staring at his phone and didn’t bother looking up as I got closer.

There was a large bowl of fruit on the table, and I popped a strawberry in my mouth.

“Good morning,” I said, full of cheer. I couldn’t be anything but happy after last night.

Kevin pursed his lips and looked up at me. “Did you have a good night?” he said with a sneer.

“Yeah, it was great. Why do you ask?”

His nostrils flared. “We share a wall.”

“Oops,” I said, not the least bit remorseful. I pulled out a chair, grabbed a clean plate from the tabletop, and loaded it with more fruit.

“Weird that I didn’t hear you two the night before.”

Weird that I haven’t heard you and Candace either night.

“I don’t know what you’re trying to insinuate,” I said, not looking at my brother. “But Alexis fell asleep, crying in my arms because you’d let Nana think that Alexis never wanted children. Then, you knocked up someone that Alexis had let live in her home and cared about.” I met his eyes. “And I don’t fuck my wife when she’s sad and upset.”

Kevin had the decency to look sheepish. “I didn’t tell Nana that. She just assumed.”

I stabbed a piece of cantaloupe with my fork. “Because you let her think that.”

He clenched his jaw. “I’ll talk to her and tell her the truth.”

“I already did it for you.”

The click of my bedroom door opening sounded behind me, and Kevin and I both turned to see Alexis walk out in one of my T-shirts.

“Good morning,” she said when she reached the table.

I hauled her onto my lap and kissed her. “Good morning, Lexie.” After last night, I wasn’t going to try to keep my hands off her anymore.

She smiled at my use of the nickname. “Can I have some of your fruit?” she asked.

I gave her my fork. “Eat away.”

As she took a bite, I put my hand on her thigh and ran it up and under the hem of my shirt. “Ooh,” I whispered. I hadn’t expected her to be completely naked underneath.

She grinned at me. “I was too hungry to waste time with underwear.”

Kevin cleared his throat, and the two of us looked in his direction.

  “Could you not?” he asked.

Alexis pointed the fork at him. “If I have to watch you with Candace, you can watch me with Trevor.”

  I snickered.

The front door opened, and Candace and Nana walked in. Everyone’s attention turned to t
hem.

“You’re awake,” Nana said, looking at me and Alexis, who stiffened in my arms.

Alexis tried to get up, but I pulled her back down.

“Your grandmother,” she said to me in a tight voice.

“Relax. You’re my wife.” I raised my voice to Nana and Candace. “Where did you go?”

“We went to the park where the wedding is taking place on Saturday,” Candace said.

“It was beautiful,” Nana informed us. “It’s a great place for memories. Don’t you think, Candace?”

Candace was looking down at her phone.

  “Candace?” Nana said.

Candace looked up. “What? Oh. Yes, it’s beautiful.” She forced a smile.

“Is everything all right?” Alexis asked.

Candace was clearly not as happy as she was trying to show us she was. And I couldn’t help but notice that Alexis had observed enough about her mood to ask, but her own fiancé hadn’t.

“Yes. Everything is fine.” Candace didn’t want to talk about it.

“What’s on the agenda today? Do you have to do other wedding stuff?” I asked.

“No,” Candace said. “Kevin took care of everything before we came down here. And really, we only have the officiant and a photographer for half an hour.”

“No flowers?” Alexis asked. “We should at least get you a bouquet and something for your mom.”

  “My parents aren’t coming.”

  Nana gasped.

  “What?” Alexis asked, visibly shocked.

“It’s only going to be the five of us at the wedding,” Kevin explained.

“Your parents aren’t coming?” Alexis repeated. “I assumed they were meeting us here in a couple days.”

Candace hugged her stomach. “They weren’t very happy about the baby. We aren’t speaking much.”

  “I’m so sorry,” Alexis said.

“It’s fine,” Candace quickly answered back. “I’m going to go lie down for a bit.”

After she left the room, we all looked at Kevin.

  “What’s going on?” I asked.

“Nothing. Her parents aren’t happy she’s pregnant, which is why we’re getting married so fast. They didn’t want to try to get passports at the last minute.”

Alexis slowly shook her head. “That’s so sad.”

“Doesn’t she have a friend or two who would come to be with her?” I asked.

“None of her friends from Canada could come for the same reason, and her few friends in Minnesota couldn’t afford it.”

“And you didn’t offer to pay for at least one of them?”

  Kevin frowned. “No.”

“Unbelievable,” Alexis muttered. She jumped off my lap and headed to our bedroom.

“I’m with her,” I said. “You paid for all of us to come here. You could have offered for one more person to come.”

“It’s not that easy,” Kevin said.

I stood and shook my head in disappointment. “I’m going to go get dressed.”

Alexis was on her phone, sitting on the bed, when I walked into our room.

“Can you believe him?” she asked me, looking up.

  “No. But also yes.”

“He’s the worst.” She turned her eyes back to her screen.

  “What are you doing?”

“Trying to find one of Candace’s friends on social media. She had a few come over when she lived with us. I’m hoping I can find someone, so Candace isn’t so alone.”

I sat next to her. “I thought you were mad at her?”

“I’m mad, but I don’t hate her. No one deserves to be alone on their wedding day.”

  I grinned at her.

Alexis glanced at me. “What?” she said when she saw my expression.

  “Nothing.”

“Then, why are you smiling like that?”

“You’re just an amazing person, is all.” One I could see myself falling in love with.

  Chapter Twenty-Four

  TREVOR

“Oh my God, Candace’s friend said she can come,” Alexis said way too early the next morning.

I grunted in response, keeping my eyes shut. I was not ready to wake up yet.

“Okay, so I have to get Summer a plane ticket and a hotel room. And then do I tell Candace her friend is coming, or do I make it a surprise?”

  I made another noise.

“I’m going to make it a surprise. This is going to be so awesome.”

At this point, I was sure she was talking to herself and didn’t require me to stay awake.

  “Trevor.”

“What?” I whined. “I’m sleeping. Can’t we talk about this later? Please?”

“I’m way too excited to sleep.”

“Okay. Wake me in an hour then.”

  “Or…”

She started shifting around in the bed, and I almost opened my eyes to see what she was doing, but then I knew I’d be up for the day.

I told myself I didn’t care what she was doing.

Until she put my dick in her mouth.

My eyes flew open, and I pushed the covers off me.

She pulled my shaft out of her mouth and smiled. “What? I thought you were too tired to get up?” She ran her tongue around the head.

“You are evil. I have half a mind to push you off and go back to sleep.”

  She laughed. “You would never.”

I sighed. “You’re right. I would never.” I patted my mouth. “Now, turn around so that I can eat that beautiful pussy.”

“In a minute. Let me enjoy this first.”

I grinned and put my hands behind my head. “What the lady wants, the lady gets.”

Alexis took me in her mouth again as the doorbell rang in the main room. I didn’t pay much mind to it until I heard my brother shout Alexis’s name, and pounding footsteps got closer to our bedroom door.

Right before the door swung open, I pushed her behind me as I sat up to block her.

“Get the fuck out of our room,” I commanded.

Kevin didn’t even look at me as he waved a manila envelope and a stack of papers in his hand. “You changed your last name?” he said to Alexis, who was peeking around my shoulder. “For him?” He pointed his finger at me. “But you wouldn’t for me?”

Kevin must have gotten a report from Kelly Investigations. That had to be what he was holding.

“If I didn’t know better, I would think you’re jealous, brother.” I tilted my head. “Also, how do you know this?”

“I’m not jealous, and I have my ways,” he said, sticking his chin in the air.

“You mean, like hiring someone to investigate us?” I said.

Kevin sputtered, trying to come up with a response. “It doesn’t matter,” he finally shouted. “That’s not why I came in here. I want to know why she changed her last name for you and not me.”

For a second, I thought my brother looked hurt, but then he sneered.

“I should have known you would though. It’s always been Trevor, never me.”

I quickly looked at Alexis. What did my brother mean by that?

But she was looking at Kevin. “Get over yourself. At the end of the day, it’s my name, and what I choose to do with it is my business.”

“I can’t believe you would do this.”

“And I can’t believe you claimed to love me but had no problem leaving me without even giving me the share of the money allocated to me.”

He had the audacity to look offended. “You’re bringing that up now? I thought you were over it.”

“You owe me half of a five- to six-hundred-thousand-dollar house that had no mortgage. And it’s not about being greedy. Do you know where I’ve been living this whole time? No. Because you’re a selfish asshole. And I was never over it. I just stopped asking you about it.” She put her hand on my arm. “And I changed my last name because I felt like it was the right thing to do with Trevor.”

Kevin’s eyes shot to me. “Don’t be fooled. S
he only changed her last name because she wants part of Nelson Pharmacy. What better way than to have the last name of the store? And she only did it to get back at me. Watch out for her, Trevor.”

The joke was on my brother. I already knew Alexis’s full intentions.

“If I did it to get back at you, then why didn’t I tell you right away?” Alexis pointed out.

  Kevin didn’t have a response.

“Also, asshole, Trevor and I have a prenup. His inheritance is all his.”

  “I don’t believe you.”

“Don’t then.” Alexis shrugged. “I don’t really give a shit either way. The only reason I’m here, acting like we’re a happy family, is because of your grandmother. That poor woman doesn’t need to know what a dick her grandson is.”

“Yeah, well, she doesn’t need to know that her other grandson has a slut for a wife who will spread her legs for any—”

Kevin didn’t get to finish his sentence because I flew off the bed and slammed him against the wall by his throat. “Don’t you ever, ever speak to my wife or any woman like that ever again.” I pushed him out the door. “Get out of here, you piece of shit.”

I slammed the door closed and fell against it.

Alexis ran her hand through her hair. “This morning started out so well.” She sighed. “Good mood ruined.”

I walked back over to the bed and collapsed on it. “Well, that was a real shitshow.”

Alexis lay back. “I wonder how much your grandma heard.”

I groaned. I hadn’t even thought of that. “I’ll talk to her in a bit and try to smooth things over. But I swear, if she wasn’t here, I would put us on the next plane home.”

She kissed my cheek. “I appreciate that, but let’s not let him ruin the time we have left here. It’s still a nice vacation spot. The wedding is tomorrow, and we can leave after that. We don’t have to stay the whole weekend.”

“Are you still going to have Candace’s friend come?”

“Yes. I feel bad she’s marrying Kevin. Baby or no baby, she’s better off without him. Maybe her friend can talk her out of getting married to him.”
