  “Linc...”

In answer, Lincoln kissed his neck and chest, teased his nipples, leaving Drake quivering with need when Lincoln’s slick fingers moved between his legs.

Backing arching, he hissed, then moaned, as Lincoln began gently stretching him, preparing him. Drake thought he might die from the building need. He could feel the tension, the desire. His skin felt hot and his insides burned with longing as ever so slowly, Lincoln removed his fingers and Drake opened his eyes to see his lover kneeling between his legs.

A smile passed between them, one that conveyed everything they felt, everything they meant to one another.

I’ll never let him go. I’ll spend the rest of my life making him happy to make up for the hell he suffered.

That thought in mind, he watched as Lincoln slipped his hands beneath his thighs and Drake easily lifted his legs, allowing Lincoln room to press gently against him.

  “Drake...”

“Don’t make me wait any longer, Lincoln. Please...”

He watched fresh desire flare in Lincoln’s eyes as slowly, carefully, Lincoln pushed into him and Drake eagerly accepted him, needing him, knowing this was just the beginning.

This time, Lincoln would stay and Drake would make him glad he did.

  Chapter Eight

  Lincoln

Lincoln awakened to the unmistakable aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and when he forced open his sleep heavy eyes, he found Drake perched on the edge of the bed, a steaming cup in each hand as he offered a brilliant smile.

  “Good morning, sleepy head.”

Pushing himself up, Lincoln stifled a yawn as he reached for a cup, accepting it with both hands, his gaze roaming over Drake.

His hair was still damp from a shower and he wore gray jogging pants, but his chest was bare and Lincoln decided it was a view he could enjoy seeing each morning.

“What time is it?” He asked, before taking a sip of coffee and smiling as he realized it was made just the way he liked.

“A little after ten. I’ve been up for about an hour.”

“You should have woken me up.”

“Not a chance. You looked so peaceful. And I figured you needed your rest after last night.”

“Don’t be a smartass. I’m only eight years older than you, mister.”

“Hey, I needed my rest, too. You’re rather exhausting, love.” Drake grinned, setting his coffee on the nightstand. “By the way, I made a call to Zoe Evanson. I met her at a charity event a year ago, and she’s a defense attorney. She has a reputation for being one of the best in the business.”

  “You told her about Noah?”

“She heard most of it on the news, but she’s happy to take the case. She said she would go see him today and she would clear it with the authorities and we can visit with him tomorrow.”

“That’s a good idea. I’m sure he needs a friend.” Lincoln set his own coffee aside. “Kid has to be terrified, sitting in jail. It’s not a pretty place.”

“I imagine not.” Drake reached for his hand. “I just realized something.”

  “What’s that?”

“I haven’t given you a proper good morning.”

“Really? And what exactly would a proper good morning be?”

Placing one hand on his shoulder and the other behind his neck, he pulled Lincoln into a long, deep kiss that tasted like coffee.

When the kiss ended, Lincoln pulled back with a smile. “I like that as a good morning.”

  “Good. Get used to it.”

  “Really?”

“I meant everything I said last night, Linc. I love you. And I want to be with you.”

“I want the same thing. I just… I guess I’m still a little amazed that I can have this.”

“I am going to make sure you realize you deserve to be deliciously happy.”

Lincoln smiled, leaning close for another kiss and Drake responded, allowing Lincoln to pull him further onto the bed.

“Move in with me, Linc. Or we can find another place. I just want us to be together.”

“I want the same and here is fine. I like this place.”

“We have had some good times here.”

“And I think we’ll have a few more,” Lincoln promised easily.

“Maybe we should get started on some more good times now. If you’re up to it, that is.”

Laughing, he shook his head. “That could be taken as a challenge.”

  “And?”

“It so happens I love a challenge. And I love you, too.”

Drake smiled, caressing his cheek, their eyes locking, feelings vivid and alive as Lincoln knew they always would be.

“This is the real deal, Lincoln. All the bad stuff, it’s over. And if the memories start to hurt you, all you have to do is lean on me and let me help you.”

He nodded, swallowing past the swell of emotions, ignoring the tears that made his eyes sting.

“I know. And I swear I won’t forget that. I won’t ever shut you out again because I need you too much, Drake.”

  “That need goes both ways.”

Content in that knowledge, knowing it all really would be okay, he allowed Drake to pull him into another kiss.

It might have taken him a while to figure it out, but he knew where he was meant to be.

And who he was meant to be with.

His days of running where finally over, because he was finally home.

  Excerpt

Can a runaway really find a fairy tale happily-ever-after?

Self-made billionaire, Ethan Trent isn't searching for commitment. He likes to play the field. To avoid any of the typical entanglements regular relationships bring to the table, he prefers to use an escort agency to meet his social needs.

Pretty boy, Cale Brooks is a high-priced escort. His troubled past is the driving force behind his current career choice. It's easier to love them and leave them, and working for the agency makes that simple.

Both men come from similar troubled pasts, but their current lives couldn't be more different. One thing they agree on: happily-ever-after isn't real.

When Cale's past catches up with him, he feels the need to run once more. Will Ethan let him go or has the eternal playboy become snagged in true love's web?

  Prologue

Pierce Wilder knew there were some who would take exception to the way he chose to conduct his ‘affairs,’ but he had long ago reached a place where he truly didn’t care what others said or thought about him.

At thirty-six, he was no longer the ‘poor kid’ or the ‘kid from the wrong side of the tracks.’ He was a long way from the backwoods, small-minded, dot-on-a-map New Mexico town he had fled when he was sixteen years old.

He had come to New York with nothing but the clothes on his back, three thousand dollars, his recently earned GED, a love for computers, and a willingness to do anything and everything it took to make his dreams come true.

No one in his life had ever handed anything to him, and he didn’t expect that to change. Work didn’t scare him, and while it wasn’t easy, he set about proving it, landing himself a bottom-level mailroom job in a small computer firm where the owner, Tristan Slater, realized just how much potential he harbored.

His ability to build a computer program or break down one that was supposedly the best on the market came naturally to him, but Tristan kindly told him that if he wanted to make it in business, he needed more than knowledge. He needed style; he needed flair; he needed to be able to best those who would sooner look down at him than speak to him because of his less than influential upbringing. And Tristan was more than willing and more than eager to teach him all he needed to know.

The only price for sharing his expertise and social skills?

  Pierce in hi
s bed.

It wasn’t difficult to say yes. Tristan was an attractive man in his late forties. Pierce was certainly attracted to him, and Tristan helped him overcome any lingering inhibitions regarding his sexuality.

He didn’t consider himself in love with Tristan, no more than Tristan was in love with him, but he did learn a lot from the man and by the time their three-year affair ended amicably with Tristan moving on to another young lover, Pierce was a shadow of his former self.

He was everything Tristan had assured him he would be: intelligent, confident, cool, and emotionally reserved when need be.

He knew how to play what Tristan called ‘the game,’ and Tristan taught him to go after anything and everything he wanted with ruthless determination, not giving a damn what anyone might think. His life was his to live as he so chose, on his terms, and Pierce never forgot that or any lesson Tristan taught him.

Tristan made it very clear just how proud he was when Pierce bought the company from him when he was only twenty-five.

In the eleven years since, Pierce had turned Wilder Technologies into a major investment, a multi-billion-dollar firm on the cutting edge, and he was damn pleased with what he had accomplished. He also didn’t mind reaping certain benefits.

He was finally at a place where he didn’t have to manage the business himself, he now had people he trusted to do the day-to-day, but he still kept close tabs while having fun on his terms.

He was willing to admit he was fairly arrogant and he liked having his way. He had certain tastes and desires, and he wanted those desires met by someone who understood that he wasn’t on the market for a relationship. He didn’t believe in true love or happily ever after. Anyone who did, it was obvious to Pierce, wasn’t living in the real world, and as a result, he tended to avoid those people, trusting an old acquaintance to find him what he needed.

Eve Howell, introduced to him by Tristan, knew how to be careful and discreet. She ran a very selective service and whenever Pierce felt the need to ‘play,’ he always turned to her. She hadn’t failed him yet.

A call to her was always returned, sometimes a few questions were asked to see if he wanted anything beyond ‘the usual,’ and within twenty-four hours, a package was delivered to him containing bios and photographs.

All he had to do was make a selection and Eve handled the arrangements.

Sitting alone in his apartment, opening the package, Pierce felt a familiar sense of lustful anticipation as he pulled out the photographs and began looking through them.

He didn’t make it past the third one before finding exactly what he wanted. Looking at the photograph, his heart kicked up a notch and he sucked in a breath, fairly certain he had never seen anyone more surreally beautiful.

Tall and lean, the young man had smooth, hairless olive skin stretched taut over well-developed muscles, and unruly, midnight black hair that obviously possessed natural curl he couldn’t contain. Dark lashes accented a rich shade of azure blue eyes. His smile was sensual yet somehow innocent all at once, thanks to the combination of full, thoroughly kissable lips and charming dimples.

Turning the photograph over, Pierce found the information he needed to tell him more about the dark-haired beauty.

  Name: Colt Dixon

  Age: 25

  Height: 6’1”

  Hair: Black

  Eyes: Blue

  Info: Bottom; Submissive

Smiling, Pierce reached for the phone and quickly dialed the familiar number. On the third ring, Eve picked up.

“Made a decision already?” He could hear the laughter in her voice.

“You knew just what would catch my attention.”

“Ah, yes. Colt is a beauty, isn’t he?”

“He is. And I want him.”

“And you shall have him,” Eve assured. “The usual weekend?”

“No. I have a feeling that won’t be enough time to get my fill of this little prize.” He smiled again. “Make it two weeks. I might do some traveling and I could use someone to keep me company while I do. And let Mr. Dixon know he doesn’t need to pack anything. I’ll have everything he could need arranged for him.”

“Sounds like Colt is going to get pampered.”

“He is. And we’ll both enjoy it.”

  “When do you want him?”

He considered that for a moment. It was Wednesday, and he needed some time to prepare what he had in mind.

“Have him here Saturday. No later than five.”

  “Consider it done.”

  “Thanks, Eve.”

“Anytime, doll. Let me know if you need anything else. And have fun.”

  “I intend to.”

Ending the call, he looked at the photograph again, smiling. He felt his cock swelling in his pants as a torrent of scandalously lustful images and thoughts bombarded him, arousing him, leaving him almost desperate for release. No doubt, the coming two weeks would be a sensual delight.

“I am looking very forward to meeting you, Colt Dixon. It’s going to be a blast.”
