Act 1
Scene 1. Jacobs house.
(crying can be heard)
Jacob
Now, now, little boy. What’s wrong?
Bianca
I think he wants a bottle.
Jacob
Damn! Another bottle?
Bianca
Yes another one silly. He is just like you! Always eating and drinking all the time.
Jacob
(laughs) Do you want to hold baby John and change his diaper while I’ll go make his bottle?
Bianca
(laughs) Sure.. I’ll do that, but you’ll have to stop being so scared to change your own sons diaper.
Jacob
I am not scared to change it. (thinks for a moment)Well, maybe I am.
Bianca
What are you so scared of? The smell?
Jacob
(laughs) I’m scared of that smelly poop.
Bianca
(laughs) So Mr. soon to be police officer is scared of poop? I find that too funny. Does Carlos know about this?
Jacob
Well, I haven’t told him yet because he has been busy with his three kids that are from all these different women.
Bianca
Three mamas? (laughs) That’s hilarious!
Jacob
Yes it is funny. I told him a few months ago to stop screwing so many girls.
Bianca
Well, you could only give so much positive advice to a person. It’s up to them to take it or leave it.
Jacob
I hear you on that. Hopefully when I call him again he won’t have a forth baby mama.
Bianca
(laughs) Let’s see if he keeps his wiener in his pants. So anyways… Pass me my cutie pie.
Jacob
(Passes baby John to Bianca) I’ll go make the bottle (walks toward kitchen).
Bianca
Okay hun. (Bianca starts talking to John while putting a new diaper on him) Hey let mama clean you up so you can smell nice and good!
Jacob
(yells from the kitchen) Is the smell of death gone yet?
Bianca
(yells) The smell of what!?
Jacob
Nothing babe. I’m just kidding around.
Bianca
(yells) OKAY! Are you done with the bottle?
Jacob
(leaves the kitchen and heads to Bianca) Here is the bottle and it’s all nice and warm.
Bianca
Thanks! (Bianca holds the 3 month year old baby in her arms and begins feeding him.)
Jacob
I can’t believe I am going to graduate out of the Russian police academy tomorrow.
Bianca
(smiles) Why can’t you believe it?
Jacob
Because babe, you know I wasn’t really interested in law enforcement. I always loved programming games and designing games.
Bianca
I understand it’s very new to you. But I know you will make a great police officer and a sexy one. And you’re lucky I taught you Russian, so you will be all set!
Jacob
(laughs) Thanks for the encouraging words. You’re right I will be fine.
Bianca
Looks like the baby finished his bottle. His eyes are shutting.
Jacob
Want to put him to bed? And damn… He drank all his milk like a champ!
Bianca
He sure did. I’ll put him in his crib now. (Bianca places John in his crib.)
Jacob
Now that John is sleeping, let’s get some sleep of our own.
Bianca
(yawns) Okay.
(Bianca and John are now in bed.)
Bianca
So we’re waking up at 6AM?
Jacob
Yes we are.
Bianca
Okay hun. I am going to knock out right now.
Jacob
Same here babe.
(Bianca and Jacob fall asleep.)
Scene 2. Police Graduation Ceremony.
(Jacob and his fellow friends are on stage reciting the oath of becoming a Russian police officer.)
Speaker
Russian cadets say the words of oath after me. (the speaker begins reciting the oath) I swear to uphold the righteous of duties and protect the citizens of the land of Russia.
(The soon to be officers begin citing the oath.)
Speaker
Congratulations men! (speaks to the crowd) Ladies and gentle give these new officers a round of applause.
(The crowd of family members from the newly appointed officers begins to cheer and clap.)
Bianca
(cheers and yells) YAY!!! My honey has done it!
Speaker
(talking to new officers) Good luck on your new journey. All of you are dismissed.
(The new Russian police officers attend to each of their families. Meanwhile Jacob is trying to find Bianca within the crowd.)
Bianca
(yells and waves her arms) I’m over here!
Jacob
(sees Bianca and his baby boy) Hey I’m officially a Russian cop!
Bianca
Yes you are! Are you ready for your first day tomorrow?
Jacob
Oh yes I am.
Bianca
Let’s go eat.
(Jacob and his family head out of the graduation ceremony building.)
Scene 3. Outside.
Jacob
I’m in the mood for steak and fries.
Bianca
Mm… That sounds really good.
(Jacob and his family walks down a block to a restaurant.)
Scene 4. Restaurant.
Jacob
This restaurant seems very fancy.
Bianca
Did you forget?
(Jacob stares in confusion.)
Bianca
Most restaurants in Russia are fancy.
Jacob
Hmm… I guess so…
(The waiter approaches Jacob and Bianca.)
Waiter
(talking to Jacob) Table of 3 or 2?
Jacob
What!?
Waiter
I’m sorry sir. I am just in a good playful mood. You all can follow me to your table.
(Jacob and his family head to their table to be seated.)
Waiter
I’ll be back with the booster seat.
Bianca
No problem.
Jacob
That waiter seems way to happy don’t you think?
Bianca
Maybe something exciting happened to him today.
Jacob
Yea, maybe he took some good drugs or
something.
Bianca
Oh, come on don’t be so mean.
(The waiter approaches with the booster seat.)
Waiter
Here you go.
Bianca
Thank you.
Waiter
So what can I get you folks?
Jacob
I’ll have a steak well done with French fries.
Bianca
I will have chicken tenders with a salad.
Waiter
Okay. And what would you guys want to drink?
Jacob
Orange soda will be fine.
Bianca
A large tea but not too sweet.
Waiter
I’ll be back with your food shortly.
Bianca
May I ask you a question before you go?
Waiter
Sure you can.
Bianca
Why are you in such a good mood? I mean… There isn’t anything wrong with that. I am just very curious.
Waiter
(makes a strange expression) Well, I just love seeing a foreigner with my own kind. I get a kick out of seeing it. (The waiter walks away.)
Jacob
What the hell was that?
Bianca
I don’t know, but that waiter seems kind of creepy by the way he responded to you.
Jacob
Well this will be the last time we come here.
Bianca
I agree.
(Few minutes later the waiter approaches with their food.)
Waiter
Okay here is your food. (waiter places each dish on the table) Enjoy your food!
Bianca
(awkward tone) Thanks.
(The waiter walks away.)
Bianca
How’s your steak babe?
Jacob
It’s not bad at all. It’s really good.
Bianca
Look at the baby he’s asleep.
Jacob
He’s been sleeping all this time. No crying or anything.
Bianca
We have a good baby boy.
(Waiter approaches Jacob and Bianca.)
Waiter
(licking his lips) Are you guys okay?
Jacob
We’re fine.
Waiter
Okay.
(The waiter leaves.)
Bianca
Did he just lick his lips at us?
Jacob
(laughing) I guess.
Bianca
Weirdos these days.
(20 Minutes Later)
Jacob
I’m stuffed. I cannot eat anymore.
Bianca
Same here. I think it’s time we leave and go home.
(Waiter approaches Jacob and Bianca.)
Waiter
Are you guys all done?
Jacob
Yes we’re done and I’ll like the bill please.
(Waiter hands the bill and leaves.)
Jacob
(looks at the bill) 30 bucks? Well that’s exactly what I am going to leave.
Bianca
No tip?
Jacob
Hell no! He doesn’t deserve it with those strange responses and expressions.
Bianca
Good point. Let’s get out of here.
(Jacob and his family exit the restaurant and walk their way to the family car.)
Scene 5. Jacobs car.
Jacob
Are the seat belt straps too tight on John?
Bianca
(checks the seat belt straps) There fine. It’s not too tight.
Jacob
Okay.(Jacob starts up his car) Time to go home.(Jacob begins driving home.)
Bianca
(turns on the car radio) Nothing that I like is playing.
(All of a sudden a radio broadcaster begins speaking.)
Radio Broadcaster
There has been reports of a tall thin male who watches over families while they sleep. People are advise to make sure all doors are locked and windows are locked for safety. If you have any information leading to this individual, please contact the Metro police.
Bianca
That’s sickening isn’t it?
Jacob
Yes it is. I wonder how many times did he watched over families while they slept.
Bianca
I hope they catch him. Luckily we live in the country side.
Scene 6. Outside Jacobs House.
Bianca
(talking out loud) We’re finally home. (laughs) It only took us about 35 minutes.
Jacob
That’s not too far. I remember living in NYC and just taking the train and bus everywhere I go.
Bianca
I want to visit NYC just for the experience. Maybe we can go on vacation?
Jacob
We’ll go there soon. Let’s go inside the house before this thunderstorm starts.
(Jacob and his family exits the car and heads inside their home.)
Scene 7. Inside Jacobs Home.
(crying can be heard)
Jacob
Looks like John is hungry.
Bianca
I’ll go make him a bottle.(Bianca goes to the kitchen to make a bottle.)
Jacob
(turns on the television and starts flipping through channels while talking to himself) Nothing good is on today.(Suddenly a breaking news message appears on the television screen.)
Breaking news message
The strange male who watches over families while they sleep has struck again, but this time the male was watching his victims shower. (News alert ends and Bianca enters the living room.)
Bianca
(gives the baby the bottle while talking to Jacob) So anything good on TV?
Jacob
Not much is on, but there was a breaking news alert.
Bianca
Breaking news alert about what?
Jacob
The alert was about the creeper guy.
Bianca
Did the police get him?
Jacob
Nope not yet. The news just stated the creeper is now watching his victims shower.
Bianca
That is just sick!
Jacob
Yes it is. I wonder how long can he get away with what he’s doing.
Bianca
Beats me.
(Hours later)
Jacob
I turned up the heat in the house, It was getting too cold.
Bianca
It’s chilly in here.
(Jacob and Bianca lay in bed.)
Jacob
I can’t wait to see what I’ll experience tomorrow.
Bianca
Just be careful at your first day of work.
Jacob
I will.
(All of a sudden a loud banging can be heard from the front door of the house.)
Bianca
(talking in a scared manner) Honey did you hear that?
Jacob
Yes I did. I think someone is knocking from outside. (Jacob puts on his slippers and checks the front door.)
Bianca
(yells) Is everything okay?
Jacob
(yells) Everything is fine. (Jacob opens the door and looks outside. He looks towards his left and right, but doesn’t see anything till he looks down at the ground.)
Bianca
(yells) HONEY!!
Jacob
(talking to himself) What the hell!? It’s a doll? (yells at Bianca) BIANCA! Come look at this.
Bianca
(runs to Jacob) What is it?
Jacob
It’s some kind of doll and looks like the wording of I love you are written in blood.
Bianca
Oh my God! Should we call the police?
Jacob
(thinks for a second) Well, let’s not do that yet.
Bianca
Why not hon
ey?
Jacob
Maybe it’s some teenage kids playing a joke on us.
Bianca
Are you sure? If it is kids, then they must be some pretty bored ones to come out this way for a prank.
Jacob
Hopefully that will be the last time of this sick prank. If it happens again then we will call the police.
Bianca
Okay hun. Let’s go to sleep now.
(Hours later the sound of a alarm clock can be heard.)
(BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!)
Jacob
(puts the alarm on snooze and yawns for a moment)Is it already morning?
Bianca
Yes it is babe. I’ll make you some breakfast. (Bianca gets up from bed and begins cooking Jacob some eggs and sausages. (While Bianca is cooking breakfast, Jacob is getting ready for work.)
(30 minutes later.)
Jacob
Is the food ready?
Bianca
It’s done. Come sit down at the table so I can serve you. (Bianca serves Jacob his eggs and sausages.)
Jacob
(begins to eat) This is good! You should be a chef!
Bianca
(laughs) You’re silly.
Jacob
I never really asked this Bianca, But how are things going as a nurse?
Bianca
It’s going good. It can be hard and strange at times, but I like it more than being a teacher.
Jacob
Whys that?
Bianca
Because I can help people that have no other people to help them. Don’t get me wrong, I loved teaching; But I think I found my new passion in the medical field.
Jacob
That’s great that you’re still enjoying your career change.
Bianca
Thank you.
Jacob
I’m stuffed. Let me head out to work. By the way, what time is the baby sitter coming?
Bianca
She’s coming in about an hour or so. I am going to get ready before she comes and head to work as well.
Jacob
Alright, well I’ll see you later. (Jacob gives a kiss to Bianca and heads out to work at Metro City.
Scene 8. Metro Police Station.
Jacob
(steps outside of his car and talks to himself)
Well I’m here. Let’s see what this day brings. (Jacob enters the police station.)
Police Officer 1
Hey you’re one of the new guys huh?
Jacob
Yes sir.
Police Officer 1
I have orders from the captain to send you new guys to the conference room for a briefing.
Jacob
Alright, that’s fine by me.
Police Officer 1
Follow me.
(Jacob follows the police officer to the briefing room.)
Police Officer 1
Just wait in there with the fellow newcomers.
Jacob
Will do. (Jacob enters the briefing room and sits on one of the chairs.)
(Few minutes later the police captain walks in the briefing room with a few senior officers.)
Captain
Hey men! Today is your first day on the job. I have set up experience officers to be paired up with each of you. These experience officers will show you the ropes and give you an understanding of your first day on the field. Also, all of you will have different duties today. When I call your name I will also say the name of the paired officer you must go with that is up here before me.
Police Captain
(begins calling names) Lenard is paired with Michael. Lucas is paired with Esteban. Carl is paired with Leon.
(Moments later the captain finally gets to Jacobs name.)
Police Captain
Jacob is paired with Legoski.
(Jacob stands up and walks toward his partner.)
Captain
Good luck with your partners and be safe.(Captain leaves conference room.)
Legoski
(shakes hands with Jacob) I’ll be your partner for today.
Jacob
Nice to meet you.
Legoski
Let’s head out to the patrol car.
Scene 9. Jacobs house.
(Door bell rings.)
Bianca
(answers) Who is it?
(An old woman answers back) It’s me Francheska.
Bianca
(opens the door) Hey how are you?
Francheska
I’m good dear. Sorry I’m late.
Bianca
It’s okay. I gave baby John some milk. He is now relaxing in the play pin.
Francheska
Aw…
Bianca
If you need anything you know my cell phone number.
Francheska
Yes I have it. Have a good day.
(Bianca leaves the house and drives to her nursing job in Metro City.)
Scene 10. Hospital.
Bianca
(talking to her coworkers) Sorry I’m late ladies. My baby sitter showed up late again. And now that I live in the country side it takes a bit longer to get here.
Co Worker 1
Don’t worry girl. It’s not that busy yet, which I am surprised.
Bianca
I guess no emergencies yet since its early morning right Kathy?
Kathy
You got that right!
(Suddenly another coworkers walks in.)
Co Worker 2
Hey!
Bianca and Kathy
What’s going on Sasha?
Sasha
What’s going on with you? I heard you are suppose to get transfer to the psychiatric ward?
Bianca
(looks confused) Transferred?
Sasha
Yes.
Bianca
Did Dr. Steven tell you that ?
Sasha
Yes he did. It was two days ago.
Kathy
Good luck in that department. I heard a lot of strange things about that department.
Bianca
Hey don’t make me scared.
Kathy
Sorry.
(Minutes later Dr. Steven walks in.)
Dr. Steven
Morning ladies.
Everyone
Morning.
Dr. Steven
Bianca can I have a word with you in my office.
Bianca
Sure.
Dr. Steven
Okay. Well the reason you are getting transfer is because you are a great nurse and I want you to be by my side in the psychiatric department.
Bianca
(looks surprised) Thanks, but Dr. Steven are you going to be in charge of the ward?
Dr. Steven
Yes I will. Another Dr. will take over the ER department.
Bianca
When do I start there?
Dr. Steven
You can go now and meet me in my new office. I’ll be there shortly.
Bianca
Okay doctor.
Bianca
(leaves the Dr. office and talks to her friends) Goodbye girls I am heading to the my new department.
All coworkers
Bye Bianca.
(Bianca heads to her new department.)
Scene 11. Outside the police station.
Jacob
(talking to his partner) So are we going to patrol the streets?
Legoski
Yes we are.
(Jacob and his partner goes inside the police car and start there day patrolling.)
Legoski
Pretty much as a new recruit you’re just driving around making sure different neighborhoods are okay and nothing suspicious is going on.
Jacob
Okay. What about calls that come on the radio?
Legoski
Well, the only calls you will get are loud disturbances and suspicious activity calls.
Jacob
(looks confused) That’s it?
Legoski
Yup! That’s it. As the days go by you will learn more. Just take it a little bit at a time.
Jacob
I thought I would take all type of radio calls.
Legoski
(laughs) Oh no. Not as a new recruit.
Jacob
(continues patrolling the city streets) So how long have you been a police officer for?
Legoski
I’ve been a police officer for 16 years.
Jacob
Do you like it?
Legoski
What do you think?
Jacob
(laughs) I’ll take that as a yes.
Legoski
(sees something strange) Hey Jacob pull over quickly near that park.
(Jacob stops the police car at the park and sees a female getting hit by a male.)
Legoski
Let’s go quickly and stop him.
Legoski and Jacob
(shouts) Get off her! Put your hands behind your back! (The male is fighting back against Jacob and his partner.)
Jacob
STOP RESISTING.(Moments later the male stops struggling against Jacob and his partner. Legoski puts the male abuser in the back of the police car.)
Jacob
(talks to the victim) Do you need an ambulance miss?
Victim
No I do not.
Jacob
Are you sure?
Victim
Yes I’m sure!
Jacob
Why was that guy hitting you?
Victim
