Ravenlight (The Ravenlight Cycles Book 1)

Luckily, it was another Ravenlight cycle, and the tribe was in their human forms for the next ten hours or so.

“Imala?” Jaggar seemed to turn the name over in his mouth, as if he could physically taste it. “That’s a pretty name.”

Revan snorted. “You might think differently after you meet her. She’s got a tongue like an adder and an attitude like a jackass.”

At the image his words created in my mind, a loud guffaw flew from my mouth. “If she heard you say that Revan, she’d whack you over the head with one of her spoons, or make you drink one of her special potions.”

A sneer curled Revan’s lip. “Don’t remind me.”

“I don’t know.” Jaggar straightened his shirt and threw his tools into the truck bed with a clang. “She sounds interesting.” He opened the door to the pickup, grabbed a cell phone from the center console, shouldered a thick, heavy-looking knapsack, and threw himself into the back of my car.

I slid onto the driver’s seat.

Revan took the passenger’s side. “Oh, she’s something alright.” His chest shook with silent laughter. “But I suspect you will find out soon enough.”

Over my shoulder, I spared a quick glance to Jaggar, who leaned into the seat with an arm spread across the backrest, one cowboy-booted foot propped across his knee.

“She can’t be that bad,” he drawled, rolling his eyes.

With an amused grin, Revan’s stare met mine. His face seemed to say I can’t wait to see how this goes.

Blasting my sexy, shape-shifting man with a smirk, I turned my attention to the road ahead. What if fate placed Jaggar in our path specifically for Imala? Maybe he is to her what Revan is to me.

  Only time would tell.
