A RECIPE FOR YOU!
Nora’s Gingerlicious Gingersnap Cookies
Total Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 36 cookies
Ingredients:
2 Cups of all-purpose flour, sifted
1 Cup of sugar
3/4 Cup of shortening
1/3 Cup of cinnamon sugar
1/4 Cup of dark molasses
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon of ground ginger
2 Teaspoons of baking soda
1 Teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon of salt
Direction:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2) Sift the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, ground cinnamon & salt into a medium bowl.
3) Stir the dry mixture to blend and then sift mixture a second time into another bowl.
4) Place the shortening into a bowl and beat until creamy. Gradually beat in the sugar, the egg and the dark molasses.
5) Sift 1/3 of the flour mixture into the shortening mixture and stir to blend. Then sift in the remaining flour and mix until a soft dough develops.
6) Pinch off small amounts of dough and roll into one inch balls.
7) Roll each ball in cinnamon sugar and place on a baking sheet spaced two inches apart.
8) Bake for about 10 minutes or until slightly cracked.
9) Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.
10) Serve & enjoy!!!
