Paradise & Vodka (Saddles & Racks Book 6)

"You feel so fucking good," I praised.
"You too," she replied. "Don't stop."
"Oh, baby, I wasn't planning on it."
And I didn't as I picked up my speed, causing the bed to hit the wall in the process. I knew that if the bed wasn't moving, I wasn't doing it hard enough, and we both needed this. I wanted her not to be able to walk properly and have Dougie know that it was me who made it possible. That he chose the wrong sister. Everleigh might be skinnier than Ashleigh, but there was no way she would be able to handle the pounding Ashleigh was taking from me.
Lifting Ashleigh's top leg, I spread her wider, going as deep as I could go with each drive. She turned slightly, and I took her mouth again. We were in a frenzy as we licked and bit each other lightly, and she held onto the back of my neck as though she actually needed the anchor. I was close, so I reached between us and started to rub her clit as I took long, slow thrusts, going as deep as I could with each one.
I’d never been as lost in the moment as I was with Ashleigh. The heated passion between us was consuming me, and I never wanted it to end. Thankfully, it wouldn't be the only time I would be balls deep inside of her. I wasn't sure if a week would be long enough for me to get my fill of her, but I was going to take every opportunity I could.
"I'm going to come," she stated, and I took that as my cue to begin pumping in and out of her rapidly again. I wanted to be buried inside of her as her body clenched and squeezed my dick, trying to milk it.
"That's it," I coaxed.
Ashleigh gripped the sheets, holding on as I plowed into her. Her pussy tightened, and she came, moaning and convulsing as I continued to rock into her. It didn't take me long before I followed her over the edge, and then we both laid there catching our breaths before taking our second showers of the day.
This time together.
My mood had done a one-eighty, and it was because of my fake boyfriend.
Good Lord, that man could fuck.
It was exactly what I’d needed to forget about all the bullshit going on around me. Who cared if my sister was marrying my ex? Who cared if no one except me thought that it was ridiculous? And who cared if my parents were acting like people they weren't? The only thing that mattered was that I'd gotten my brains banged out of my head.
Or at least the headboard was banging.
"Ready?" Nick asked, coming up behind me and kissing the back of my neck. A delicious chill raced down my spine.
"Not if you keep doing that." I grinned through the reflection of the bathroom mirror.
"I can't help it."
My face flushed.
"Aw, I thought we were past that part of our relationship."
I snorted. "I'm not blushing because I'm embarrassed by your words."
"Then, why are you?"
I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Because your words are turning me on."
"You want more?" He placed his hands on my hips and pulled our pelvises together with a grin.
"Um, yeah." I chuckled.
"You want to skip this shit then?"
I took a deep breath. "I do, but we can't."
"You know what we can do?"
"What's that?"
"Take off your panties, and you'll find out."
My eyes widened. "You can't be serious."
"Oh, I'm dead serious, baby."
"But my parents—"
"Do you trust me?"
"Yes, but—"
"No buts except"—he grabbed each of my butt cheeks in his large hands—"this fine ass."
"Do you make all of your clients take their panties off?"
He smirked. "Actually, no. That usually comes at the end of the date."
In the back of my mind, I knew this was his job, and I had hired him, but he had a way of making it seem as though he actually cared about me and wasn't doing it because it was his profession. I would never ask him if he was showing me affection and flirting with me because he liked me or if it was because he had to.
Nick made me want to be sexually adventurous, so I decided to humor him because I would never get this opportunity again.
I took a step back. While staring up into his blue eyes, I reached down and removed my panties. "Do you want to keep them in your pocket or something?"
Nick snickered. "No, baby. Just leave them here."
I set them on the counter. "Okay then. I'm ready."
The meet and greet was being held at the bar by the pool. I'd never heard of a meet and greet for a wedding, but I went with it. Plus, the Alexanders were footing the bill.
"I hope there's food," I stated as we got closer.
"Worked up an appetite, did you?"
"Maybe." I grinned.
"Thank God we have that fruit basket because you're going to stay hungry all week."
People usually gained weight on vacation, but by the way he was talking, and the way Nick fucked, I was going to lose at least ten pounds. And I wasn't complaining one bit. Instead, I chuckled as I spotted my parents with Everleigh and Douglas. My folks were standing next to the two lovebirds as though they were some sort of entourage. I shouldn't have been surprised. My parents always favored Everleigh because of the limelight her pageants brought to our family. It was more so my mother who was affected by it, but my father would beam when he would talk about his beauty queen daughter.
"Let's grab a drink first." I made a beeline for the bar. I needed alcohol. I needed all the alcohol.
Nick's hand caressed my back as I leaned on the wood top. "Relax."
"I thought I was fine, but seeing them still gets under my skin." I also was no longer hungry.
He pressed into my side and lowered his voice as we waited to get the attention of the bartender. "Don't worry yourself with something you can't change. Do you really wish it was you marrying that guy?"
I looked over at the table across the pool and then back at Nick. "No, I think it's the principle of it all."
"I totally get that, and I can't even imagine being in your shoes, but you brought me here to be your boyfriend, and I want to be your boyfriend. I want them to know we fuck every night, and you're happy."
"But I'm not happy."
"Because of them?"
"No." I shook my head. "Because dating is hard. I told you that I want to find that one person to come home to each night."
"What if I help you find someone?"
"You mean find a real boyfriend?"
"Yeah." Nick shrugged. "I know people."
"You'd do that for me?"
He brushed his thumb across my cheek. "I like you, baby. You're a cool chick, and I personally want to see you happy. I hate that these fuckers have been assholes to you, and I wish I could give them all a piece of my mind."
"I wish I could give them a piece of my mind."
"You can wait for Thanksgiving. Isn't that when all families fight?" He grinned.
I grunted a laugh. "That would entail me going home for Thanksgiving and being in the same room as my sister."
"I would love to be there to witness it." He kissed my cheek, and I smiled. I really liked Nick, and it felt good to have his support. It felt genuine.
The bartender finally made his way over to us. I ordered a double vodka cranberry, and Nick ordered a salty dog. Once my drink was in front of me, I didn't waste a second to suck most of the tart liquid down. I ordered another one right away.
"Incoming," Nick stated under his breath and took a sip of his drink.
I looked back to see the happy couple walking toward us. "Great," I muttered. I took a deep breath and put a smile on my face as I turned to face them.
Nick didn't budge from my side, the heat of his body felt like a security blanket.
"Sister, sister," Everleigh greeted, wrapping her arms around my neck just like she had that morning at breakfast. Nick didn't move a step.
"Evie," I greeted back.
"Are you two well-rested?" she asked, stepping back and looking between Nick and me.
>
Nick swung his arm across my shoulders, bringing me even closer to him as he replied, "Yes, we had a nice nap. Thank you."
"Great." She beamed. "Tomorrow we're going on a day cruise to a sand island where we'll have lunch and snorkel. We've already saved you two a spot, but I wanted officially to invite y'all to join us."
Nick nodded his approval with a slight shrug, and I responded, "Sure, that sounds like fun."
"And the expense is covered," Douglas chimed in.
"Thanks, man," Nick said sarcastically. "This entire trip is costing a fortune. I just don't know if I could afford to do one more thing."
"In that case, let me pay for the room," Douglas replied.
I blinked.
"That would be fan-fucking-tastic," Nick boomed. "I'm saving all of my money for …" He paused and squeezed me. "Well, I can't say, but thank you. That's appreciated."
The men stuck out their hands and shook as though to seal the deal on Douglas paying for the room. I was so confused.
Everleigh hugged me again. "We better go make our rounds greeting everyone. We'll see you tomorrow morning in the lobby at eight."
"We'll be there," I responded. When the couple was out of earshot, I asked, "What was that all about?"
"Helping you out, baby. Now you'll have extra money to hire me again." He smirked.
I chuckled and then downed my second drink, already feeling better.
"Want to dance?" Nick asked.
I looked at the area in front of the band playing. "No one is dancing."
"Doesn't mean we can't."
"I need another drink first," I stated. I usually didn't drink that much. If it were only Nick and me, I would be fine, but it wasn’t, so we ordered another round and then grabbed a table. I spotted some of Douglas's friends, who I knew from college, but none of them came to speak to me. My parents, however, did.
"Having a good time?" Mom asked as they walked up.
"We are," I replied.
"I'm sorry I didn't realize you were dating anyone. I feel horrible," she stated.
I grunted a sarcastic laugh under my breath. "Yeah, well, the last year has been non-stop talk about this wedding."
"Your sister getting married is a big deal."
I wasn't sure if it was the alcohol flowing through my veins or if I just didn't give a fuck any longer because I snapped, "To my ex-boyfriend. The same one I was dating when they fucked for the first time."
"Ashleigh," Dad scolded.
Nick slid off his stool and stood next to me, my security blanket coming to the rescue.
"Why are you scolding me, Dad? That's the truth."
"Because it's not the time or place," he stated.
"And when was the time or place? I haven't talked to Everleigh since that night, and everyone is pretending like it didn't happen."
"They are just better for each other," Mom indicated.
"I'm curious why you think that." I crossed my arms over my chest.
My parents shared a look, and then Mom said, "They have more in common."
"Really? Did Everleigh go to Columbia? Does she have a college degree?"
"No, but they both like to golf," Dad chimed in.
"Everleigh never golfed before she met him. How do you know she isn't doing it to fit in?" I countered.
"Look, I'm sorry about this. We didn't come over here to argue with you," Mom admitted.
"So, why did you?"
"We wanted to see how you were doing and get to know Nate," she responded.
"It's Nick," I corrected.
"Sorry," she muttered.
"What would you like to know?" Nick questioned.
"Anything," Dad replied.
Nick kissed me on the cheek. "How about we go get the ladies another round, and I'll tell you how I helped my grandfather rebuild the engine for his '64 Pontiac GTO."
"You know how to work on cars?" Dad questioned.
"I'm not just a pretty face, Mr. James." Nick winked at me.
Dad and Nick started to walk toward the bar, and I heard Dad say, "Call me Earl."
"Nick really does seem like a great guy." Mom sat across from me at the table.
"He is."
"Are you happy?"
I looked over at Nick, who was deep in conversation with my father. I had no idea he knew about cars. In a perfect world, Nick could be the one for me. He obviously knew how to protect me, he knew how to win my father over, and he knew how to pleasure me. However, we didn't live in a perfect world, and once the trip was over, I would have to tell everyone that we broke up. For now, though, I would lie to my mother.
"Really happy."
I wanted to stick up for Ashleigh so badly, but it wasn't my fight because she wasn't mine. At the end of the day, I was just her date and had no place butting in, so instead, I diffused the situation the best way I could by pulling her father away. I really did know about cars and had helped my grandfather rebuild his GTO. And Earl was impressed, to say the least.
"If I had a son, he and I would work in the garage every weekend," Earl indicated.
"But you have two daughters," I stated as though he didn't know that.
"I do, and they're my world."
"Even Ashleigh?" I asked before I realized what I'd asked.
"What do you mean?"
I flagged down the bartender, and we placed our order. "Well, you didn't know we were dating for starters." I didn't care that I was lying to the man. I was trying to make a point.
"Her mother is the one who talks to her about her love life."
"Apparently not," I corrected.
"Yeah, apparently not," he agreed. The bartender placed our drinks in front of us, and Earl took a swig of his beer. "Honestly, I was never close with my girls."
"Why not?"
He shrugged. "I never knew what to do with them."
"What do you mean?"
"Everleigh was always doing her hair and makeup, and then she started doing pageants."
"Couldn't you have done science experiments with Ashleigh?"
Earl chuckled. "That girl is smarter than me and her Momma combined. If she wasn't a twin, I would think she wasn't ours."
"But she is yours."
He stared at me for a moment as though it finally hit him that Ashleigh was his daughter. "I know, and now she lives in Vegas, and we only see her once a year."
"Maybe if you treated her like you treat Everleigh, then you'd see her more."
"I don't treat them differently."
"With all due respect, Earl, you fuckin' do. You let the one who had her heart broken watch you and Dixie praise a relationship that devastated her."
"I didn't think it was that serious between Ashleigh and Douglas."
"Except she brought him home for Christmas that year." I took a sip of my grapefruit and vodka drink.
"It wasn't my place."
"That may be, but looking from an outsider's perspective, it appears you love Everleigh more and only care about her happiness."
"I love them both the same."
"Ashleigh doesn't think that."
He stared at the table Ashleigh and her mother were sitting at. "How do I fix this?"
"I'd start by telling her that you love her."
I left while Ashleigh had a heart to heart with her parents. She needed it. Even if Everleigh never apologized to Ashleigh, I felt as though Ash would feel better once she got everything off her chest about how they'd done her wrong when it came to the shit that had gone down.
Plus, I had to piss.
As I was walking back from the bathrooms, the bride-to-be turned the corner and ran right into me.
"Sorry." I steadied her. "Are you okay?"
She blinked. When her eyes focused, and she realized it was me, she ran her finger down my chest and slurred, "I am now."
Aw, shit.
"Where's Dougie?" I asked.
"I don't know." She waved her hand in the direction of where she came from. "Over there somewhere."
<
br /> "Do you need me to walk you back to him?"
"Walk me back to him?" She laughed. "He won't even realize I'm gone."
"Sure, he will. This is your party."
"I've already done my job for the night. I want to dance!" She started to tug on my hand, but I dug my heels in and stopped her.
"Sorry, but I need to get back to Ash."
Everleigh grunted. "Why would you want to do that? She's sooooo boring."
I never once thought Ashleigh was boring, even when she told me about her job and how her idol was Bill Nye and shit. She fascinated me. I found her to be extremely smart, and that shit was a turn on. Plus, her body was thick and golden like honey and spoke to my dick. She was also not wearing any panties, and as soon as she was done talking to her folks, I was going to get her to relax again.
"I don't think so," I replied.
"Why do you think Doug wanted me?"
Oh fuck. Did I want to know this information? I wasn't sure because I didn't want to hurt Ashleigh more than she already was with everything going on, and if Everleigh told me, I would feel as though I had to tell Ashleigh.
"I'll tell you why," Everleigh continued, and took a step closer before whispering into my ear, "because I'm a freak in the sheets and a lady in the streets."
"And how do you know your sister isn't?"
"Puh-lease." She rolled her eyes. "Doug told me they only fucked missionary. That first night, I rode him hard." She ran her finger down my chest again. "I can do the same to you right now."
I caught her wrist and stepped forward, whispering into her ear, "I wouldn't fuck you even if you were the last woman on earth. I'm with your sister, who is a helluva lot sexier than you." I dropped her wrist. "Plus, I would fuckin break you. I like my women strong."
I walked away and went back to the table. Ashleigh and her parents seemed to be in good spirits.
"Want to dance?" I asked and nudged my head toward the dance floor where people were finally dancing.
"Or we can go back to the room and order room service?" she suggested.
That actually sounded like a better plan. "Yeah, let's do that."
She slid off her stool. "We'll see you guys in the morning. We haven't eaten since breakfast."
"Sure thing, honey," her mother replied.
