This book was one of the harder books I ever had to write. Not because of the subject matter but because the characters seem to very much want to keep their secrets. Other authors might call it writer’s block, but I’d prefer to think of it as my characters reticence rather than some failing within me ;)
I can tell you that when I finally teased the stories out of Jed and Savannah that I was happy with the end result. I can also tell you that I am looking forward to writing Margaret and Brín’s story. Brín is a lot more open about his story and he is already chatting my ear off. Those stories are always the best to write.
This book wouldn’t have been possible without the input from Kathryn and Brooke. These two women enrich my life in different, but nevertheless important ways. I treasure both of them and am so very thankful for their continued presence in my life.
My husband, my rock, my heart. Without him I would be nowhere near the woman I am. He is my perfect match in every way and continually wonder at my good fortune for having met him in the first place. It is because of him that I can write about love and romance when the world sometimes feels like a place devoid of both. If not for my own love story then none of this would have been possible.
About the Author
Emma Lea is a barista, artist, cook, mother and wife. She lives on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia with her wonderful husband, two beautiful sons, her dog and cat (both of which are female because, hey, we needed to balance all that testosterone!)
She is a ferocious reader with eclectic tastes and has always wanted to write, but never had the opportunity due to one reason or another (excuses, really) until finally taking the bullet between her teeth in 2014 and just making herself do it.
She loves to write stories with heart and a message and believes in strong female characters who do not necessarily have to be aggressive to show their strength.
