Chapter 42
Three cruisers and two ambulances pulled up in front of the house. Inspector Caruso arrived shortly after. McTavish was taken away in one ambulance, a uniformed cop going with him as his escort.
Shauna started coming to as the attendants were lifting her into the other ambulance. "Scot?" she asked.
"You're fine. Everything's going to be all right," Pepper said, climbing into the ambulance with her as he continued to hold her hand.
"Which one of you two is going to tell me what happened?" Caruso asked as he looked at Wallace and Chin.
"It was all Elizabeth. I'll let her tell you," Wallace said, nodding to Chin.
"I think you better come inside, boss," Chin said. She turned and walked back into the house.
