Let’s Start Over

“You may,” I said standing and tugging my shirt over my head.
Cooper’s eyes never left my body as I shimmied out of the black skirt that I wore and the flat shoes on my feet. I reached up and released my bra, before I let it drop to the ground. Finally, I pulled down my panties and dramatically tossed them at him.
Cooper’s mouth closed and he grinned at me.
“You know I always want you,” I purred. “Every single minute of every day. That’s something you never even have to doubt or worry about.” I walked over and trailed a finger down his thigh. “I will always want you.”
Cooper sucked in a breath. “And I’ll always want you,” he said, staring up at me until his eyes were distracted by my stomach. Leaning forward, he kissed my belly. “I’m so fucking happy I can’t stand it.”
My fingers combed through his hair and I knew exactly how he felt. I’d never felt my heart feel so full of love and joy as it did in this moment. All I wanted to do was stay by his side, grow our family, and live the life we were meant to live. I tilted his head up with my fingers. “I love you so damn much it hurts, Cooper.”
“Words can never describe what I feel for you, my darling heart.”
His smile made my heart skip a beat. I knew how much he meant it and how true those words were when they came from his lips. Cooper was my first love, my protector, and soon he would be the father of our child. I knew for a fact that I was insanely lucky and I would never take anything for granted with him.
Once he’d said, ‘Let’s start over.’
And we did.
And it worked.
