Oh, hell yeah, he could definitely see her on her knees, those lips wrapped around his dick. But first, her pussy.

“Oh, Janie,” he said. “I’m gonna enjoy the hell out of you tonight.” Then he lowered himself down between her legs. He pressed kisses to her thighs and directly on her pussy, over her pretty pink panties.

  She bucked under him.

  He chuckled. “Impatient?”

  “Yes,” she hissed.

“Good. Me, too. I really want to be inside you, but first I’ve got to spend some time exploring your sweet pussy with my tongue.” He dragged his nose up her center, against her panties, and felt the dampness waiting for him. “You smell so good I’ve got to get a taste, lick up all your sweet honey.”

  “Oh…”

He hooked his finger into the waistband of her panties and pulled them straight down her legs. There she was, wet and waiting for him. The smell of her arousal was like a grip on his cock. Fuck, he’d better not embarrass himself and come on the sheets while his mouth was on her.

Her pussy wasn’t bare, and he liked that. He’d never understood why that should be sexy. No, she was trimmed and tidy, with a perfectly shaped triangle of brown hair. It was feminine and sexy as hell.

He looked up and found her watching him.

He spread her lips, and she glistened with need. “Pretty and pink. Your pussy is perfect,” he said.

That adorable grin of hers appeared, and then she covered her face with her arms. “Thank you.”

He chuckled. Laughing in bed worked for him. He’d always preferred a partner who could enjoy sex and humor at the same time. He grabbed her hips and pulled her closer to him, then he leaned forward and licked her from slit to clit.

  “Ohmigod!”

Fuck yeah, Janie was going to be a screamer.

She was sweet and so responsive, and he realized he could eat her for hours. He alternated his moves, fucking her with his tongue and then sliding up to suck on her clit. She wasn’t quiet, instead moaned and cursed. Then he moved one finger up inside her, hooked it, and waited for her to let him know he’d found the magic spot. She was so wet, his finger fucking in and out of her made an obscene noise. It just made him harder. Precum leaked from the tip of his cock, and he moaned against her.

Ah, there it was. That combined with his tongue work and he felt her tighten around his finger. Her fingers grabbed onto his short hair and held his face firmly to her.

“Oh fuck, fuck, fuck!” she yelled. “I’m gonna come. Oh God, I’m gonna come so fucking hard.” Then her pussy clenched on his fingers, squeezing him so good while she called out his name.

He sat back, grabbed a condom, then ripped it open and rolled it on. He took his time crawling up her body, kissing her everywhere. The cluster of freckles next to her belly button, the indention of her waist, the spot between her tits, each hard pink nipple, her collarbones, then finally her mouth.

His gripped his cock and rubbed against her, coating himself in her arousal. “You’re so fucking wet. God, Janie, I can’t wait any longer.”

  “Yes, please.”

He entered her slowly, reveling in the way her tight channel hugged his dick. Her legs bent and pressed against his back, pulling him in deeper. She was so tight, and even with the condom he knew she was wet and hot. He pulled back then slid back in. Again and again, he withdrew then plunged back in. No pussy had ever felt better.

“You feel fucking amazing,” he said.

  “You, too.” Then she smiled.

Damn shame he had to leave, head out of Texas and back to the deserts in the Middle East to shoot some bad guys, because he would really like to spend some more time with Janie and that perfect grin of hers. Judging by the surprised look on her face, he might have said some or all of that out loud. Ah well.

He shifted, bringing one of his legs up to change the angle, and when he did, he must have hit the jackpot.

Her eyes went wide, and her mouth fell open.

“So good, Kevin, so damn good.”

He thrust again, pulling nearly all the way out, then slammed back again. And again. And again.

“Oh God. Yes!” Then her head tilted back into the pillow, and she came around him, squeezing his cock oh so good.

He withdrew himself and got up on his knees. “Roll over.”

She did as he said, rolling over on her belly, and he grabbed her hips and pulled her up on her knees.

“You have a sweet ass, Janie.” He rubbed both hands over her curves then dragged one hand through her wet folds between her legs. He moved closer then slid himself back into her, deeper in this position. “Oh fuck, baby. I can’t go soft.”

“No. I don’t want it soft. Fuck me hard, Kevin.”

So he did, slamming into her over and over again. Her tight pussy gripped his cock. “I can’t last much longer. You gonna come for me again? Touch your clit for me, baby, make yourself come.”

She reached between her legs and stroked herself, and damned if it wasn’t the sexiest thing he’d ever seen. Two seconds later she went off like a rocket, and her walls squeezed, triggering his own orgasm. She milked his cock with every pulse, and he swore he’d never come so hard and so much.

He leaned forward and bit her neck then kissed it gently before rolling off her.

She fell onto the bed with a thump. “Oh, it is real. I thought it was a myth.”

Myth? He padded into the bathroom to clean up. He brought out a damp washcloth and cleaned her up, too, before crawling back into the bed. “So, what were you talking about that was a myth?”

She laughed. “You’ll probably think I’m an idiot, but I was talking about my G-spot. I didn’t think I had one. Or at least one that worked.” She rolled over and looked up at him. “But you managed to find it. That plus multiple orgasms, and you’re like some kind of magical sex unicorn.”

He chuckled then pulled her to him so she was nestled against his chest. “I really do like you, Janie.”

  “I like you, too, soldier.”

  Chapter Three

  Six weeks later

“Shit, shit, shit!” Jane said. “How did this happen?”

Her best friend, Dani, rolled her eyes. “Uh, babe, if you don’t know, then that might explain all of this.” She pointed to the row of sticks lined up on top of the bathroom counter.

Jane’s stomach twisted in a knot. “Not the time for jokes. Oh my God, Dani, I’m pregnant. Pregnant. Shit!” She sat on the edge of her bathtub, her eyes locked on the multi-colored striped bathmat. But she saw nothing except the two pink lines that were now permanently imprinted on her brain.

“So…any idea who the father might be?”

Jane winced. “No question. Hot Navy SEAL guy.”

“Tell me you got his actual name.”

“Yes, of course. We nearly spent the entire weekend together. An incredible best-sex-of-my-life weekend. His name is Kevin Jessup.”

  “And you didn’t use protection?”

She swallowed. “No, we did. A condom every time.” She’d seen the evidence in the bathroom trashcan every time she’d gone in there. They’d been careful.

Dani blew out a breath. “It’s like a Lifetime movie on how birth control isn’t foolproof. So, what are you going to do?”

“I guess I’m going to try to get in touch with him and let him know. Then I’m going to make a doctor’s appointment.” She shook her head and swallowed hard against the panic. “Maybe I’ll do those in reverse order.” Her hand went absently to her belly. She’d never had a completely flat tummy. She was on the curvier side of things, which hadn’t ever bothered her. Now she knew her little pooch was protecting a sweet nugget inside of her.

She’d always wanted to be a mother. Now wasn’t exactly ideal. She was twenty-six, unmarried, not in a relationship of any kind, nor did she see one in her future now. It wasn’t like being a high school teacher brought her many prospective boyfriends, except the coaches and the occasional history teacher. Her cowork
ers were predominantly women. Which meant they’d give her one hell of a baby shower.

“What about your family?” Dani asked.

“Yeah, my parents are going to flip.”

  Dani laughed.

“What could you possibly find amusing in this situation?”

“Jane, I’ve known you since we were four. You have spent your life standing quietly in the background behind your beautiful and talented siblings. Not that you deserved to be there, just that you put yourself there. They’ve won all the awards, gotten all the firsts and the bests. But now you have the opportunity to be the first Seymour kid to give Diane and Frank a granddaughter. And that, my friend, is awesome.” She poked the tip of Jane’s nose with her finger. “Provided it’s a girl.”

A girl. A baby. “Kathleen won’t like that. The triplets are only three. She wanted to wait until they were in school before they tried for any other kids.”

Dani laughed again. “No, she won’t.”

“Holy hell, Dani, I’m pregnant. With Hot Navy SEAL guy’s baby.”

Jane put another measured serving of baby formula in the diaper bag, then followed it up with two changes of clothes and several diapers.

Her mother and sister sat in Stella’s nursery cooing at the baby while she continued to pack.

“I can’t believe it’s already time to go back to work,” she said, mostly to herself. “I’m not ready to leave her yet.”

“Jane, sweetie, you’ve gotten more time off than most women do,” her mother said. She made a goofy face at her granddaughter then smiled widely.

“Yeah,” her sister piped in. “You really planned her birth perfectly.”

Jane snorted. Right. Perfectly planned birthdate for her perfectly unplanned pregnancy.

“You got those six weeks of maternity, then straight into summer. Four months, Jane.” Kathleen shook her head. “No one gets that much time off after having a baby.”

“You’re right. I’ve been blessed to have this much time with Stella. I’m going to miss her so damned much.” Jane zipped up the diaper bag then paused, grabbed two board books, and reopened the bag to add them.

“The daycare has all of that stuff. Stella’s going to be fine,” Kathleen said.

“Easy for you to say. You got to stay home with your babies,” Jane muttered.

“I chose to stay home. Justin and I saved for a long time so that I could quit my job when the boys came.” Her sister rolled her eyes. “I think about going back to work every day. I swear they’re trying to kill me.”

“I told you not to marry a twin. A multiple marrying another multiple.” Their mother shook her head. “Dangerous combination of genes.”

  “Thanks, Mom,” Kathleen said dryly.

Kathleen was older than Jane by nearly six years and was the proud and exhausted mother of four-year-old triplets.

“One more year, sis,” Jane said. “Then they start kinder and they’ll be someone else’s trouble during the day.”

“I’m going to nap for a month after that happens.”

Jane walked over and took Stella from her mom and set her up on the changing table. Her perfect baby girl looked up at her with that wide toothless grin. She kept waiting to see if those staggering blue eyes would change, darken to a brown like Jane’s or even a hazel like her siblings’. But so far, every time her daughter blinked up at her, it was with Kevin’s brilliant blue eyes. A knot tightened in her chest. Jackass. She went about changing her daughter—diaper, then into a new sleeper.

“You know you don’t have to do this on your own,” her mother said from the rocker.

It was the same lecture she’d gotten from every member of her family pretty much every day since she’d told them she was pregnant. Where’s the father? Who is the father? Is he going to be involved? Did he just abandon you?

She’d gotten so tired of the questions. It was exhausting making excuses for someone who deserved none. But talking trash about someone she’d never see again seemed like a colossal waste of energy.

And the truth was she did have to do this on her own. She had no husband or partner to help. Yes, she had family who pitched in when she needed them, but at the end of the day, Stella was solely Jane’s responsibility. Emotionally, physically, financially… Stress ate at her belly, but she shoved it aside. She had a stable job teaching high school English, which gave her decent insurance—not great, but decent.

“Why won’t you tell us who the father is, Jane? I told you Justin has that friend from high school who’s a detective. We could find him for you,” Kathleen said.

“We’ve been over this. There’s no reason to find him.” Oh, she’d tried. After he’d made promises of coming back to see her. Of calling and emailing when he had the opportunity. But she’d heard nothing from him in thirteen months. She’d called the Navy base once she’d learned she was pregnant and tried on numerous occasions to get a message to him, but they’d refused to pass anything along because she wasn’t family.

She’d had time to make peace with the fact that her sweet baby girl would never know her father. Made peace with that, but she hadn’t forgiven him.

  She sighed.

  She was such a cliché.

“I’m good, y’all. I’m just sad that I don’t get to spend all my time with this sweet little nugget,” Jane said. She buried her nose in the crook of Stella’s neck and inhaled the addictive baby smell.

  Chapter Four

  Eighteen months later

Cade gingerly lowered himself to the corner booth in the back of the bar. He’d been injured more than a year ago, had the bottom of his left leg blown off by an IED. And he’d handled the entire ordeal like the badass he was. He had a collection of prosthetics for different tasks, kinda like that animated Captain Hook. “Did you find her?”

Kevin nodded. He couldn’t hide the smile that came over his face. “She’s at her school. I’m going to head over there in a few.”

Cade shook his head. “I can’t believe you of all people have fallen this hard.”

“I haven’t fallen anywhere. It’s just sex. Really fucking awesome sex.” The best sex he’d ever had. “And aside from you, she’s the only person I know here.”

“Sure.” Cade took a sip of his beer.

  “What’s that supposed to mean?”

His friend’s shoulders rose casually. “I think this chick is more than awesome sex.”

Something in Cade’s words nagged at Kevin. There was truth hidden in there, truth Kevin wasn’t willing to admit. Like all the times in between missions when he’d had an opportunity to seek out some female companionship, and instead he’d settled for his hand and the memory of how sweet Jane’s sweet pussy tasted. He shifted in his seat. “It’s sex,” he repeated. “I don’t even really know her.”

“Excellent news, because that chick at the bar has been eyefucking you since I sat down.” Cade tipped his chin up to indicate the woman in question.

Kevin found her immediately. Hot body, curves for days, and long red hair. She wrapped her pink lips around the straw in her fruity drink and sucked long and hard. It was a bold proposition and not even a stirring in his pants. What the hell was wrong with him?

“I’ll make her wait a little longer, then I’ll go talk to her,” Kevin said.

“Suit yourself.” Cade took a long draw off his beer. “What did the physical therapist say?”

“Nothing has changed.” He flexed his left hand, stretching his fingers. “My fingers are still numb, and the nerve damage doesn’t seem to be repairing itself. He wants me to continue with the exercises.” He drained his beer. “I sold another design to Brick.”

“Another SEAL tattoo?” Cade asked, letting Kevin change the subject.

“Nah. This one was something I’d been tinkering with, but he said it’d be a big seller.” He should be thankful that he could still draw, that the numbness didn’t affect his ability to hold a pencil. He had to keep working, doing his therapy, and eventually eve
rything would go back to the way it should be and he’d be back out there with his MK-15 on his shoulder.

  “She’s done waiting,” Cade said.

“Who?” But before his friend could answer, that redhead from the bar sidled up to their table.

“Hey,” she said, her voice throaty. “My name’s Candy.”

“Of course it is,” Cade said as he rose to his feet. “Candy, this is Kevin. I’ll catch you later, brother. Have a good one.”

  Kevin nodded but said nothing.

Candy took it upon herself to sit in the booth. “So, what do you do?” she asked.

  “I’m in the navy.”

Her eyes widened. “I’m a vet.”

  “Really? What branch?”

She giggled. “A veterinarian. I work on animals.”

“Pretty and smart,” he said with a nod.

Her eyes flashed, her pupils dilating. Her gaze searched his face then slid predatorily down his body. He could take her back to his hotel room. She’d say yes. Hell, he probably wouldn’t even have to ask if he merely grabbed her hand and stood, because he was certain she’d follow. But no matter how much he could objectively see that she was an attractive woman, he felt no stirrings of lust or desire when he looked at her.

She put her hand on his bicep, slid a finger into the tight cuff, and pushed up. “Can I see your ink?”

He pulled up his sleeve. He hated this tat, kept meaning to do something over it, but hadn’t yet. “It’s barbed wire. My first.”

“You have more?” she asked, her voice going breathless.

“Yeah. But no others I can show you here.” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. They sounded like an invitation.

  She clutched her purse.

“Listen, Candy, you’re a beautiful woman, and ordinarily I’d be a complete jackass and invite you back to my hotel room, but I’m not going to do that.” The thought of touching anyone other than Jane turned his stomach. And he was done waiting. He needed to get his ass over to her school and see her and that smile that lit up the world.

Candy’s smile faltered. “That wouldn’t make you an asshole. It’s a flattering proposition, and I get it.” She stood. “It was great meeting you, Kevin.” She slid a business card across the table. “If you change your mind sometime or need any veterinarian services, call me.”
