Damon, Ben and I told little Benny that I was pregnant, and when he asked whom the baby’s real daddy was, I wasn’t sure what to say, so I said both. Benny was confused, but he was still too little to really understand. Then he asked me who Luke’s real daddy was and I said Damon; he grew even more confused. Despite his confusion, he was excited to have a new brother or sister, and I swore to myself to tell Benny the entire truth, when he was old enough to understand.

Once we told Benny I was pregnant, I told him that he would be staying with Ben and I at the village until after the baby was born. Benny was upset that he wouldn’t see his daddy or little brother for almost a year, but he was excited to get to know his new daddy, who he decided to call “Papa”. Benny was also excited to meet his new sister or brother.

After a difficult but successful journey, we returned to the small trading village. The town had a small two-bedroom apartment above the healing fairies office that they happily allowed Ben and I to reside until our child was born. Shortly after our arrival, Damon and the others decided they would travel through a portal and return to the castle immediately as they had been away for so long. I begged Damon to stay for one night with me, as I wouldn’t be able to see or communicate with him for an entire year. Damon decided it was best he returned home immediately, and the two of us said our goodbyes privately in my temporary new bedroom.

I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him hard on the lips. Although I had never felt as sexually connected to Damon as I had Ben, I hadn’t been intimate with Damon since Ben had been brought back to life. As I kissed Damon hard on the lips, and tears fell from my eyes, I began to pull Damon’s shirt off and push him towards the bed.

Although Damon had been standoffish since he found out I was pregnant, he did not push me away this time. As soon as Damon’s chest was bare I pressed my face into it as he lifted me off the ground and set me on the bed. He carefully kissed me, only pausing for a moment to undress me. As soon as I was undressed, he pressed his lips against every inch of my body as if it were the last time he would every kiss me again. I pulled off Damon’s pants and underwear, as he slowly climbed on top of me. He gently pressed himself against me as he carefully made love to me. As soon as we finished I lay in his arms as tears fell from my eyes. I hadn’t been apart from Damon since I had been captured and taken to Sidhe.

“Don’t cry,” Damon whispered. “I love you, and I will see you again.”

I nodded my head but the tears continued to fall. I was away from Ben for eight years, and now I would be away from Damon for a year. I felt lucky I had them both in my life, but I didn’t want Damon to leave. He was my husband and my very best friend.

When I finally settled down, I still lay naked in Damon’s arms, as he quietly said, “I would like you to see the healing fairy. I want to make sure the baby is still alive before I go.”

I nodded my head, but Damon was quiet for a moment. Then he said, “I spoke with Emerlee...and she knows a magic spell to find out who the father is…I have to know before I go.”

I began to cry again, because I was terrified to know who the true father of this baby would be. Part of me hoped I would never know, and they would both father the child, but I knew that was selfish and impossible. I knew only one of the men I loved could father this baby.

Once the healing fairy happily determined our baby was very much alive and healthy, Damon, Ben, Emerlee and I met in the apartment bedroom one last time. Damon and Ben each gave Emerlee a small tube of their blood as she poured them into two different bowls to create a potion. Once the two potions were made, she quickly poured the fluid onto my belly, and I felt a tingling sensation as the potion penetrated my skin. By only the light of a few glowing candles, Emerlee placed two hands across my belly where she had recently poured the potion. She quietly chanted a few words and pulled her hands away.

She quickly looked between Damon and Ben, then she looked at me, “I know who the father is.”

  Epilogue

I stood alone in my exuberant bathroom in our new home as I gazed upon myself in the mirror. My curly long blond hair was piled high, and I placed just a few finishing touches of makeup upon my face. Unlike my first expensive modern wedding dress, I wore a beautiful antique lace gown that my grandmother Lauren had worn the day she married Roger. The dress was made from delicate ivory with a gem-covered collar around the neck. Although it was old, it was a timeless dress that truly took my breath away. While my grandparents’ marriage had been something of a bad memory for them both, my grandmother insisted I wear her dress as a symbol of new hope and forgiveness. Unlike my first wedding, this ceremony would be tiny as it was something unconventional, an event that would never happen on earth.

Many years before, in our small mountain village apartment, Damon and the others left immediately after Emerlee gave the three of us our news. Finding out I was pregnant with a third child, had placed a small wall between Damon and I, but when Damon found out Ben was the true father of the child, he completely drifted away.

Damon and I had made love one final time, but after we were given the news of our child’s father, Damon could hardly kiss me goodbye. I held Benny as I cried in Ben’s arms, as Damon and my family traveled through the portal to return to the castle.

The eight months spent in our tiny apartment was relaxing and quiet interesting. Although Benny missed his daddy, he was excited to build a relationship with his new papa. Benny and his true father connected instantly as they were very much alike. They were both kind, loving and sensitive, and they both loved nature. During our stay in the village, Ben and Benny did quite a bit of fishing, while I rested and prepared for the birth of our child.

As I waited patiently for my baby to be born, I missed everyone back at the castle dearly, especially my child Luke who would be over a year old by the time I returned home. Some nights I cried just wishing I could hold my baby boy, but having Benny nearby brought me solace, knowing he was safe and no longer in harms way. I also knew Luke would be loved and well cared for by his father and grandparents at the castle.

After eight very long months in the village I gave birth to a healthy, beautiful girl we named Alice. She had golden blond hair and green eyes, and she looked like images I had seen of myself as newborn. Although she inherited my hair and eyes, she had Ben’s sweet mouth and perfect nose. As I held her in my arms, I felt overwhelmingly blessed to have three perfect and beautiful children.

When Alice was four months old, the healing fairy examined my sweet child and deemed her strong enough to return home through the portal. The four of us returned safely to the castle after being away thirteen long months. Although I had many people to greet, I couldn’t bear another second without my sweet Luke. It broke my heart that Luke didn’t immediately recognize me as his mother, and he had taken strongly to my own mother who had taken care of him for almost a year. I was thrilled after only a few days, Luke bonded with me once again.

Immediately upon our return, Damon, who had been running the kingdom on his own, decided we would build a house next to the castle with a connecting tunnel. The house was as large as the house I grew up in, but with seven bedrooms, as our family would continue to grow. Unlike the average home, this house held two master suites—one for Damon and one for Ben. In between the two suites, I had a giant closet where I kept my clothing and personal items. The closet two doors connecting to both master bedrooms.

Although the three of us lived together with our three children, I slept in Ben’s suite every night, and my love for Ben grew so strong, I found myself pregnant once more with another child when Alice was eight years old. This time, there was no doubt who the father was, as Damon and I had not made love since the night he left the mountain village.

Damon grew very cold and distant and dumped himself into his work as king. As I spent more time with Ben and my children, Damon focused most of his energy on the Realm of Sidhe. As my parents were growing older and preparing to retire, Damon also spent time f
requently on earth as he helped them run Pine Lake while we waited for Luke to turn eighteen. The children missed Damon, and Alice hardly even knew her stepfather, but Ben made up for Damon’s frequent absence, as he was a wonderful loving father.

When I found out I was pregnant once against, Ben reluctantly asked me to marry him. With no hesitation, Damon allowed me to take a second husband, as our marriage was practically non-existent. Ben and I decided to have a tiny wedding with only our children and immediate family present.

I quickly looked in the mirror one last time before I emerged from the bathroom. My mother and father were standing just outside the door and greeted me excitedly before we descended down the stairs. As the first floor came into view, I saw my family gathered around. My grandparents, Brandon and Aunt Allison were gathered on one side of the room, while Damon and his parents were gathered on the other, with our children all around. Loxes and Jewl, Ben’s only family were nearby.

As I continued down the stairs, I saw Ben standing in the front of the room next to Roger as a smile spread across his face. My parents walked me to where Ben stood and hugged me tight as they handed me off to Ben. As I looked towards my family, everyone looked happy, except Damon who showed no emotion.

Roger conducted a beautiful ceremony, and Ben and I recited our vows surrounded by the people we loved most. As we kissed for the first time as man and wife, our family clapped and cheered before we headed to the castle for a feast.

Everyone headed out of the room as I went upstairs to quickly change. Ben stayed behind with me, so we could enter the dining room together. Once I was in simpler attire, the two of us headed through the tunnel and entered into the main castle hall. We were preparing to head to the dining room, when we heard a commotion near the portal to Pine Lake. Ben and I looked at one another in confusion.

“It must be Virgo and Sophia coming to join the feast,” I said as I looked at Ben.

“I didn’t realize they were coming, but we should greet them,” Ben replied as I nodded my head.

The two of us headed to the portal entrance, and as the entrance glowed a bright green, we waited for the guest to emerge. Suddenly a small foot covered in a tall black heel appeared from the green glow. Ben and I stood calm as we assumed it was Sophia.

As the rest of the woman's body came through, I threw my hand over my mouth and felt as if I was going to be sick. Ben quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me close, as Desmorelda casually waltzed through the glowing green portal. I gasped in horror as a horrendous smile spread across her face. The portal was still glowing as she stood still, staring amusingly at Ben and I. Neither of us knew what to say or do, but moments after Desmorelda appeared, a man emerged from the portal just behind her. It only took a moment for us to realize who had followed behind Desmorelda as Taylor stood by her side.

Hand-in-hand, Desmorelda and Taylor stood, as disgusting smiles drew across their faces. I screamed and Ben held me tight as the horrifying couple howled into the night.
