The two voices together reverberate through my head, tire my brain, drive me insane. It began with Agnes, so long ago, but it didn’t end with her death, or Laurel’s. I’m not sure it would even end with mine. That’s my punishment, to hear their mocking voices ringing in my ears for all eternity. A prison without walls. My own private hell.
I deserve nothing less.
