You Ain't My Type

Rye grabbed her forehead, feeling like she’d been caught in a whirlwind.
“Just come on, man,” Yan urged, placing a hand on Dee’s shoulder.
“Okay,” she sighed, before glancing over at her sister. “Don’t you need a ride, Rye? I know daddy still has your car.”
Rye lifted her head. “Uh, no, I’m good.”
Dee narrowed her eyes. “You good? I know that you aint about to stay here with this nigga after he just admitted to fucking both of us.”
Rye rolled her eyes. “Look, if you wanna hold a conversation in private later, I’m all with that. But I’m not about to do this with you right here right now.”
“So, you just gon stay here with him?” Dee pressed.
“I didn’t say that. But what I know is that I didn’t come here with you, so I aint leaving with you. I know my way back to my house. And maybe I’ll see you there and we can talk.”
“But you serious, though,” Dee carried on.
“Okay,” Simone spoke up. “Let’s go, Dee. There’s nothing else to talk about. You can catch up with your sister later.”
Dee shook her head, before throwing her hands up. “Fine. I’ll see you in a few…sister.”
Rye nodded. “That you will.”
Jaylen stood and watched as Yan, Simone, and Dee left. He then closed and locked the door behind them, before breathing a sigh of relief.
Rye studied him closely. “You feel better now?”
He slowly nodded. “A little.”
“Well, good. Can you drop me off?”
His head fell back. “Come on, man. Please, don’t start this bullshit. I told you that I didn’t know that she was your sister.”
“And I believe you, but that don’t change what all this shit just brought out.”
He lowered his head to look into her eyes. “Like what?”
She placed her hands on her hips. “That we clearly aint on the same page.”
“How is that?” he furrowed his brows.
She licked her lips, as her gaze fell to the floor. “Since I’ve met you, I haven’t even looked at another nigga. You get all my attention and time. I’m thinking that this shit is mutual, but that’s what I get for assuming. It seems like you take up all my free time and the minute I don’t comply you’re ready to fuck the next bitch. And this time it was my sister, Jaylen. And what’s really crazy is that the situation just showed me that I don’t even know who I’m dealing with. You didn’t know me well enough to know who I’m related to. That’s one thing…but what’s really crazy is that I’ve been giving my body to you. Letting you fuck me unprotected. Putting my life on the line, cause I like a nigga. I mean, talk to me. Do I need to go get tested? What?”
He sucked his teeth. “Man, come on now. I might not always make the brightest choices, especially when it comes to how I slid into you without a rubber, but on God, this aint what I normally do. And I know it might sound crazy, but I figured that if you did have something that I’d already caught it, so it was no point in strapping up. But that’s just with you.”
“What?” Rye found herself giggling. “I can’t believe you fucking said that to me.”
He opened his arms. “But it’s the truth.”
“So,” she swallowed hard. “You used a condom with DeAndra?”
He paused for a brief second. “Look, let me get this shit out the way. Dee came over here with Yan. I guess he brought her along, because he wanted to smash, and she was supposed to keep me preoccupied. I wasn’t in contact with you, Rye. That was during the time you had me blocked. I aint finna lie to you. I was attracted to your sister, and we had sex. But that was it. It was one time, with protection. The most we’ve done since then is exchange dry ass text messages. That’s it.”
“Okay,” Rye sighed deeply. “I hear you.”
“Good.”
“Now, can you take me home?”
He sucked his teeth. “Take you home for what? So, you can go home, and avoid me? Block my number again?”
She shrugged. “Maybe.”
He stepped closer to her. “But why?”
She tucked her lips into her mouth. “Because. This situation is too sticky. You done fucked my sister, and we both know that she’s feeling some type of way. And even though I rarely see eye to eye with her bratty ass, I aint finna sacrifice our relationship just to keep screwing you. Cause it seems like you’ve been doing you. And that’s cool, but this aint what I want. I’m not about to play Russian Roulette with my life and I definitely aint trying to pressure you to do something you don’t wanna do.”
He slid his tongue across his teeth. “So, what you saying?”
“I’m saying that now that I know that you are still playing the field that I can’t deal. It aint what I’m looking for, so I’m good.” She bucked her eyes.
He shook his head. “You tripping.”
“Nah, that’s you. Can you drop me off or not? Cause I can always call Lea back.”
He snarled. “Main, aint nobody trying to hear that shit. Don’t call that bitch over to my house.”
She narrowed her eyes. “Why my friend gotta be a bitch?”
He waved her off. “She gon be whatever, if you calling her over here, when I’m talking to you.”
“I’m done talking.” She lifted her cell.
“Man, gimmie this shit.” He snatched her phone out of her hand.
She held out her palm. “Can I have my phone back?”
“Nope.” He stepped completely into her face. “I’m not done talking.”
She glared up at him. “Well, talk.”
“Like I said earlier. I aint worried about these hoes. I’m good. It’s me and you, and I’m alright with that. And if that changes, you’ll be the first to know.”
She squinted. “What does that mean?”
He glowered down at her. “You know what the fuck that means, girl. Stop playing with me.”
She shook her head. “I really don’t.”
“It means if you call yourself leaving here and not answering my calls, it’s gonna be a problem. If I catch you entertaining another nigga, its gonna be a problem. You got that?”
“And in all that, you haven’t mentioned shit about you. What does that mean for you, Jaylen?”
“It means that I aint dealing with these hoes. It’s just about you.”
A chill shot up her spine, as she found herself lost for words.
“You hear me?” he wrapped his arms around her. “Huh?”
“Get off me,” she spoke weakly, hating that he’d easily won her over.
“Not until you tell me that you aint gon walk away,” he breathed, as he eased his hands up her coat, gripping her ass.
“Jaylen, stop,” she whined, as he groped her ass.
“Shhhh,” he hushed her, before yanking her coat open, popping the buttons in the process. He smirked, as he was reminded that she was naked underneath. Fully aroused, he attacked her savagely.
“Jay…Jaylen,” she panted, as he pushed her onto her back on the plush carpeted floor.
“Don’t Jaylen me,” he growled, as he whipped out his dick. Pushing her legs back, he lied between her thighs, before tossing her legs over his shoulders. With one hard thrust he plunged inside of her.
“Owww,” she whimpered.
He rotated inside of her, causing her to wrap her legs around his neck. Rye licked her lips, as she enjoyed the feel of him deep inside of her. Lowering his head, he took a nipple into his mouth. Curling her toes, she fucked him back. She was completely into it, and nearly gasped for air when she felt him slip out of her.
“What chu doing?” she snapped, lifting her head.
Ignoring her, Jaylen trailed down between her thighs. Gazing up at her, he nastily slid his tongue between her slit. Locating her clit, he flicked his tongue rapidly, causing her to arch her back.
“Oh, shit,” she huffed, as she gently rubbed his head.
Locking eyes with her, he sucked her clit, until her eyes r
olled into the back of her head. Unconsciously, she rolled her hips, thinking that nothing else really even mattered. Hurt feelings and all, she was fucking Jaylen. Damn what anybody felt about it.
Chapter 14
Wearing Jaylen’s t-shirt and basketball shorts, Rye stepped through her door. It had been two days since the situation back at Jaylen’s, and she had finally decided to go home. It was late Sunday and she was sure that DeAndra had taken her ass back to Louisiana by then. Frankly, Rye knew that her sister would have to go back to school, and therefore she’d chosen to come home this late. Their talk could happen later, because all she wanted to do was take a bath and lay down.
Figuring that DeAndra wouldn’t dare tell their mama about the situation, considering she wouldn’t come out looking too spiffy herself, Rye definitely didn’t expect to find the two sitting comfortably on the couch, eating popcorn. But there they were, just chilling. When Konya noticed her, she immediately sat up. DeAndra sat with a look a disgust on her face that couldn’t be missed.
“You really stayed over and laid up with that nigga, after knowing that he was messing with me. What kind of sister are you?” Dee spat.
“What’s this I hear that you and your sister are messing with the same lil’ dude? And I know this aint the same nigga that caused you to fall out with Tori,” Konya cut in.
Rye rolled her eyes. “First off, let me stop you right there, ma. Fuck Tori. I’ve said that a thousand times. And we’re not going to dignify him with a conversation about who caused us to fall out. Tori caused us to fall out. Period.”
“Okay, you have that,” Konya offered. “But let’s talk about yall and this nigga. Rye, you know that I did not raise yall to dick swap. Come on now. There’s too many men out here in the world for that.”
Rye’s head fell back dramatically. “Lord, whyyy!”
“You need to be praying to somebody,” Dee scoffed. “I know we bump heads sometimes, but I’d never do you like that. And I honestly thought that you was better than this.”
Rye lowered her head. “Better than what?”
“Better than causing friction over a fling.”
Rye sucked her teeth. “What?”
Konya shook her head. “I’m just tripping on how you can just go from bad to worse. You say that Tori was going upside your head, and now you’re dealing with losers who mess with your little sister---”
Dee shook her head. “Jaylen’s not a downgrade, ma. No lie. He makes Tori look like a charity case. He is paid. I’m talking serious money. He’s practically famous. He has a huge house, three times the size of you and dad’s. He has multiple businesses, and has like five cars. That’s how I know that Rye is one of many, like I was. She knows that too, and that’s what’s most hurtful. My big sister would really shit on me just get with a dude when he feels like being bothered.”
Rye laughed snidely. “You really are arrogant.”
“Wait, hold up,” Konya demanded shooting to her feet. “I’m not about to let my girls get into it over some nigga, now.”
Rye shook her head. “Calm down, ma. Aint nobody getting into it over no man. I’m tripping out over your daughter. She’s going on and on about that boy, sounding like a little groupie. Now, don’t get me wrong. I aint judging because I was eighteen not too long ago, and screwed a few dudes, because I liked their swag or some dumb shit like that. So, I get it. But I really wasn’t expecting for her to run to you, and tell you anything about that situation. Especially since she only knows that man from a distance. From what I know, she slept with him once, after coming over his house with her friend.” She glanced at her sister. “Stop me when I’m wrong. And that man put it out there in front of her that it was nothing. He didn’t even know that we were related. Yet, she clearly came to you with an agenda, making it seem like I’m a sheep. Aint that much liking a nigga in the world, when it comes down to family.” She locked eyes with Dee. “But don’t try to make this out to something that it aint. It feels like you want me stop talking to Jaylen because you didn’t get chose. And I pray that this aint the case. Cause you pretty as hell, sister, and there are definitely more fish in the sea.”
“Well, tell yourself that,” Dee snapped. “What makes you any different from me?”
Rye arched a brow, noticing how worked up her sister was getting, which usually wasn’t her style. DeAndra was normally the laid-back one out the two, but she was clearly in her feelings, right then. “Look, I don’t know why you’re so mad, but it aint that serious. It seems like you hung out with him a time or two. It’s been different for me. Me and him were actually dating. Seeing each other daily. But I will admit that I didn’t appreciate the fact that he agreed to let you come over with his friend. He should’ve told you no, regardless of you being my sister or not. And we discussed that, after yall left. That’s when we decided that we were gonna see each other exclusively.”
Dee sucked her teeth. “Girl, please. You expect me to believe that?”
Rye frowned. “Believe what? What, you think that just because you gave him some, and he patted you on your ass, before sending you on your way that everybody gets the same treatment? I aint you, lil’ girl. And I damn sho’ aint gotta stand here and lie. But either way, he aint fucking with you. So, now what?”
“He aint fucking with me, huh?” Dee seethed. “Well, let’s see.” She angrily dialed Jaylen’s cell, before placing the call on speaker. Immediately, the call went to his voicemail. “Hold up, let me try again,” she mumbled, before calling his cell again, only to get the same response.
Disappointedly, Rye shook her head, before whipping out her cell. After dialing Jaylen’s number, she placed the call on speaker. He picked up on the second ring.
“What’s up? What happened to you calling me when you made it upstairs? It’s been at least fifteen minutes. I was about to turn around and come up there. See what the fuck you got going on,” Jaylen went in, instantly.
Rye sucked her teeth. “Boy…anyway, I’m calling now. But I’m about to hop in a tub, so I’ll call you in a few.”
“You just took a shower, so what you need to take a bath for?” he badgered.
She smirked. “I take baths to ease my mind, Jaylen. Now, get off my line. Call me when you get home.”
“Yeah, a’ight. That’ll be in a few hours. I’m about to stop by my mama and daddy’s first.”
“Okay, well, call me then.”
“Yeah,” he agreed, before ending the call.
Dee pursed her lips.
Konya gazed down at her youngest daughter. “Well, it does seem like they’re dating, baby. So, you should just take this as a lesson learned. Don’t go around sleeping with dudes, hoping for it to be more. Only do it when you want to, and not because you want some nigga to like you.”
Dee sighed heavily, and Rye simply shook her head. Knowing Dee, she was probably more irked by the idea of Rye being chosen over her, versus really caring about Jaylen. Hell, after the way Dewayne had placed her first for so many years, she was just accustomed to getting everything her sister wanted. But now Jaylen would be the exception.
“Can yall hug it out, please?” Konya pleaded, wanting the issue squashed.
Reluctantly, Dee stood up and opened her arms. Rye received the gesture and hugged her sister. They patted each other’s backs, before releasing one another. Studying Dee’s face, Rye didn’t really see any sincerity, but she hoped that her sister wouldn’t remain butt hurt over somebody she barely knew.

“Yesss, Jay-leeen,” Rye answered her cell, as she braided down a client’s hair.
“Damn, why you gotta say it like that?”
She giggled. “Boy, stop. What’s up? What chu doing?”
“Nothing much, man. I just came back from the daiquiri shop. It was busy as hell.”
“Well, that’s a good thing, huh?” she questioned, while holding her cell to her ear with her shoulder.
“Yeah, I can’t complain. We’re already looking for a buildi
ng for the second shop.”
“Ooh, that’s what’s up. Look at you, business man. Teach me, please.”
“I got you, but anyway, what you got going on? I hear quite a few voices in the background.”
She sighed heavily. “Yeah, you know. Another day another dollar. My place is packed with clients.”
“Damn, so, that means you can’t get away?”
“Not right now.”
“That’s fucked up.”
Her heart skipped a beat. “Why? You needed me?”
“Yeah,” he answered honestly. “At least see you.”
Rye tucked her lips into her mouth, as her mind went to work. A man like Jaylen was used to getting whatever he wanted, and with her time being limited she wondered if he’d have the patience for her, or would he seek attention elsewhere. “I’ll try to come see you when I’m done. If you’re free then.”
He sucked his teeth. “That shit don’t sound too promising.”
“Jaylen, you know I gotta make money. I mean, I thought that you understood.”
“I do understand, but I think that you need to be in a shop somewhere.”
“What’s the difference?”
“Because that muthafucka would have to eventually close. You’d have set hours, and home time would be home time.”
She laughed. “True, with your needy ass.”
“Yeah, okay. But I guess I’ll hit you back.”
“What chu about to do?”
“I’m hungry, so I’ma swing by this lil’ broad and eat with her. So, I’ll let you get back to your clients or whatever.”
“Wait, what…what the fuck did you say?”
Everyone in the apartment glanced Rye’s way, including Konya.
Jaylen chuckled into the phone.
Just then someone rang her doorbell.
“I got it,” Konya announced.
“Jaylen, you don’t hear me talking to you?” Rye pressed. “Hello?”
Konya pulled the door open. “Can I help you?”
“Hey, how you doing?” Jaylen asked, causing Rye’s head to snap up, realizing that he was at her front door.
Konya placed a hand on her hip. “I’m doing fine. And you are?”
