Stalking the Firedawg

The man named Fred blinked, then grew pale as he met Hawk’s fiery gaze. “Hey, man, it wasn’t like that. The little shit needs to learn who his betters are. He’s a twink who likes to get slapped around.”

Hawk’s anger exploded when it was apparent the man felt no remorse for hurting the small man. Growling deep in his chest, Hawk shifted the crutch and used it like a baseball bat to knock the man off the porch.

“No one likes to be hurt. No one deserves to be slapped, or hit, or punched. Stewart is a better man than you’ll ever be, and he’s mine. If I ever see you within a mile of this man, not only will I be following you and giving you a bigger taste of your own medicine, I’ll be letting my brothers know.”

“Who the hell are your brothers?” Fred asked, sounding a little hesitant, but not scared enough.

“Every Marine in the world, active, retired, and veteran,” Hawk stated proudly. “Stewart is my man, and as such, he is under the protection of every Marine there ever was. Now go away and never come back.”

He remained standing on the porch until Fred climbed in his car and drove out of the yard, tearing up the grass as he did. Only then did he turn and looked down at Stewart. “So, that’s the ex, huh?”

Stewart stared up at him, his eyes wide, and looked stunned. “Yes,” Stewart said.

“My claiming you as mine okay with you?”

  “Was that what you did?”

Hawk nodded. “That’s what I did. You’re mine, and I’m hoping to keep you. Forever. What do you think?”

Stewart’s eyes went impossibly wider before he blinked. Then he nodded slowly. “I love you, Hawk,” he whispered.

Hawk blinked and smiled. “I love you, too, my sweet mouse. Now, let’s go inside and take a shower before I love on you until you can’t move.”

  ****

Stewart could not believe that Hawk had not only chased Fred away, but had claimed him as more than just his fuck toy or boyfriend. His cock filling with each heartbeat, Stewart quickly unlocked the door and held it open until Hawk came through. Then he closed and locked it once again.

“Want me to wash your back?” he offered as Hawk slowly made his way toward the bedroom.

“Only if I can wash yours,” Hawk said without looking back at him.

That sent even more blood pounding into his cock as he began stripping off his clothes. By the time he stepped into the bathroom, he was naked with his cock pointing the way to the man he could not wait to scrub down. He grabbed clean towels and laid them on the shelf by the shower.

While Hawk stripped off his own clothes, Stewart climbed in the shower and turned it on, allowing the water to warm up. By the time the big firefighter climbed into the tub with him, the water had warmed and he flipped the switch so it showered down on them.

The men soaped each other up and then allowed the water to rinse them clean. Their kisses and touches added emotional fire to the humid heat as the water steamed up the room. Once they were both clean, Stewart was stunned when Hawk picked him up and turned so his back was pressed against the cold tile wall.

A minute later, cool, slick fingers entered his ass, quickly preparing him for what was to come. Almost before he was ready, the fingers were gone and the bulbous head of Hawk’s cock pressed through his entrance. A deep breath and Hawk filled him completely. He held steady until Stewart relaxed and nodded. “Fuck me, firedawg,” he said, wrapping his arms around Hawk’s neck and his legs around his hips.

With that, talking ended and Hawk’s cock began sliding in and out of his body. Stewart kissed Hawk as the man fucked him, moving faster and harder with each stroke. Stewart found himself flying, groaning and moaning and calling his love for Hawk as the man shifted him and began stroking his prostate with each movement.

His balls began to tingle, and then tighten, and on Hawk’s next stroke his orgasm exploded over him, and he covered both their bellies with his seed. He had just finished when Hawk stiffened and stilled with his cock deep in his body. The big man growled as his cock pulsed and filled Stewart’s channel with his release.

Hawk pressed him harder into the wall as he caught his breath. Once they cleaned each other up again, the water was going cold, so Stewart turned it off as Hawk grabbed the towels that waited for them. After drying off, Stewart acted as a crutch and helped Hawk to bed, where they collapsed and curled together for a post-coital cuddle.

“Marry me,” Hawk said just as Stewart began to nod off.

  “Excuse me?”

“Marry me. Make an honest man of me. Be my husband and let me take care of you for the rest of our lives,” Hawk said as he nuzzled his cheek against the top of Stewart’s head.

Though he knew there had to be a long list of reasons to say no, at that moment Stewart could not come up with a single one. “Yes,” he breathed, hoping Hawk heard him.

  Epilogue

Hawk slipped into the auditorium just as the community college dean finished speaking. Stepping to the left so he was out of the aisle, he looked around the audience, searching for the bright orange cap Gerald had promised to wear during the graduation. Smiling when he saw the hat sitting on the aisle about halfway down, Hawk quietly made his way around the back of the room and over to the man.

Reaching him, he grinned when he saw Lyle and Kathy were seated with him, along with an empty chair between Gerald and Lyle. Laying his hand on the man’s shoulder, he got his attention without drawing too much notice to himself. Gerald returned his grin with a big, proud smile of his own before he shifted to the empty seat. Hawk sat quickly as the people behind him began to grumble in protest.

“Glad you could make it,” Gerald whispered.

  “Me, too,” Hawk said softly.

He then turned his attention to the front of the room where the graduates were now moving in line up receive their diplomas. Because it was December, there were not quite as many as there would be for the spring graduation.

Hawk watched patiently until the dean called, “Stewart Lytle, graduate with paramedic certification.” At that point, he surged to his feet, clapping as fast as he could while giving a loud whistle.

He watched as Stewart accepted his diploma and shook the dean’s hand, then walked across the stage. Just before he descended the stairs back to the main floor of the auditorium, he turned and waved to Hawk. Then, instead of following the woman before him back to the seat he had occupied before, he turned in the opposite direction and marched a quick step up the side aisle to where Hawk stood.

Hawk stepped into the aisle and opened his arms for Stewart to walk into. Then he wrapped his man up securely while dropping his lips to Stewart’s ear. “Congratulations, mouse. I am so proud of you,” he whispered, squeezing the man tight and holding him easily.

“Thanks, Hawk. Need air,” Stewart whispered back with a giggle.

Knowing others might not be so keen on their public display, he released his man.

After retaking his seat, he pulled Stewart down to sit on his lap. Stewart accepted congratulations from his grandfather and the others as well. When the people behind them murmured protests, Hawk turned his head and glared at them, which had them sitting back and shutting up.

Holding Stewart set his body to wanting more, which was the last thing they needed at that moment. Hawk clenched his teeth together as he tried to force his cock to soften, but it refused to listen to his big head. With Stewart sitting and shifting against it, he could only pray things softened before he had to walk out of the darkened auditorium into the bright winter sunlight.

Finally, the graduation ceremony was over.

While everyone around them stood and stretched and prepared to leave, Hawk remained seated. There was no reason to stand at this moment, just to join the crowd shuffling toward the exits. Sitting here and cuddling with his mouse for a few minutes would also keep them from having to deal with the traffic jam that was bound to be forming outside.

He sat quietly enjoying the feel of his man in his lap while Stewart
talked to his grandfather and friends. When most of the people around them had gone, he shifted and leaned in so his lips were next to Hawk’s ear.

“How soon do you need to get back to work?”

“I took the morning, but had to promise I would bring back pizza for lunch,” Hawk said. “Why?”

“I was hoping we could get a few minutes alone together. In the back of my van. I really want to suck on that lollipop you’ve got in your pocket,” he said before nipping Hawk’s earlobe.

“Mmmm, that sounds like a plan,” Hawk murmured back. “The party still on for tomorrow?”

“Yes. Kathy is going all out, and Grampa has invited the entire neighborhood, I think,” Stewart said.

“All right, you two, we need to get going or they might lock us in here,” Kathy broke in before any further sexy time plans could be made.

“Yes, ma’am,” Hawk said, helping Stewart climb from his lap before standing himself. He pulled Stewart to stand in front him so he would not flash the erection that was pressing hard against the front of his pants any more than absolutely necessary.

Once the older trio left, Hawk asked the question that had been on his mind since leaving his mouse for work that morning.

  “Any word about the jobs?”

Stewart jumped and spun around, new excitement causing him to bounce on his toes. “Oh, yes. The battalion chief called and told me I start working on Tuesday. I’ll be on B shift, twenty-four on, forty-eight off, just like a certain sexy firedawg I know.”

“Well, that works out just perfect,” Hawk said with a grin, “since Mrs. Randall has made it very clear that I will be staying around here for a while. Something about keeping Runaround Stew’s happy.”

Stewart giggled and took his hand to lead him out of the auditorium. “As long as you don’t have to go up a ladder to rescue Piewhackit any time soon everything will be fine.”

“Yeah, the guys won’t let me near a ladder any time soon,” Hawk said.

“We should probably get Piewhackit a thank you gift,” Stewart said as they ambled toward where his bright pink van stood in the nearly empty parking lot. “After all, he is responsible for bringing us together.”

“I’ll buy him a five-pound bag of catnip the next time we’re at the pet store,” Hawk said with a chuckle.

He would also have to remember to send Mrs. Randall a dozen roses for stepping in at the hospital and getting him released into Stewart’s care. He then wondered if she would be willing to be best man at the wedding they were in the midst of planning.

  Chapter One

“Griffin? Where have you been? Oh, my God, where are your clothes? Is that blood on your shirt?”

Griffin Bowers could not answer the questions his roommate continued to throw at him. He didn’t think Teddy Jackson, best friend since forever, and roommate since they left home for college, could talk that fast. Teddy was always calm and laid back.

He knew he needed to answer. He just didn’t have the energy. It took everything in him just to stay on his feet, though leaning heavily against the doorframe helped. A lot.

Teddy’s questions would have to wait until he was able to think past the horror and pain of the past seven days. Who knew going clubbing without his best friend would turn out so horribly wrong? Teddy had been sick with the flu, but Griffin had wanted to go dancing.

That had been his first mistake. His second was to drink from a cup someone else had given him. From that point, until a couple hours ago, his memories were distorted, twisted, and hard to recall. Except for the pain, which he was sure would be with him for a long time to come.

Releasing the doorframe, Griffin stumbled into the apartment. His goal was one of the wooden chairs in the corner they referred to as their dining area. He couldn’t hold back a cry of pain when Teddy’s arm touched his back as his friend helped him the last few feet.

Once he sat down, Teddy went to the kitchen and returned with a bottle of over-the-counter painkillers and a bottle of the sugar-laden sports drink they liked. “Drink this.”

Griffin couldn’t open the bottle. Teddy took the bottle and easily twisted off the top before handing it back. He then held out two pain tablets in his palm. Gratefully, Griffin took the medication and drank several swallows of the fluid. He stopped when his stomach rolled, threatening to send everything he had just swallowed back up again.

Setting down the bottle, he looked at Teddy, unable to stop the tears that had been falling since one of the guards had carried him out of hell. “We’ve got to leave here before he comes to take me back.”

Teddy looked at him as if he was crazy. Griffin knew he sounded like his cheese had flipped off its cracker, but the only way to keep them both safe was to run. Preferably before anyone showed up to take him back.

  Or worse.

Before he could say anything further, Teddy handed him a small container of cottage cheese from the fridge and a spoon. “Eat that. It will be easier on your stomach than any of the leftovers. After we get you cleaned up and you rest, you can tell me the story from the beginning.”

Griffin nodded as he picked up the spoon. Though it was delicious, after three bites he put down the spoon. He was too tired and scared to eat more. Though his friend was careful, he could not keep down the groans as Teddy helped him stagger to the bedroom.

“Please, don’t tell anyone I’m here. No one can know,” he begged as Teddy helped him to the bed.

“Don’t worry, Griffin. I’ll take care of you,” Teddy promised. Griffin knew he was speaking the truth. Teddy had been taking care of him since they had met in kindergarten.

Before Teddy could clean him up, Griffin collapsed onto the bed and allowed the black abyss of unconsciousness to drag him under its spell.

  ****

Teddy had just finished tucking a blanket around his best friend when a heavy knock sounded on the hall door. With his friend panicked about someone taking him back, but currently unable to answer any questions, Teddy retrieved the handgun he kept hidden on the highest shelf of the linen cupboard. Griffin would have purple kittens if he knew there was a gun in the apartment, but Teddy refused to take chances.

Heading to the front door, Teddy flicked the safety off then held the gun behind his leg. Peering through the peephole he had installed shortly after they had moved, he found a familiar face staring back at him.

Quickly unlocking the three locks and throwing open the door, Teddy rushed into his half-brother’s widespread arms. “Oh, thank God, you came,” Teddy said.

“Of course I came. You said it was an emergency. Sorry it took me so long, but we were snowed in. What’s going on?”

Teddy hugged Roane Jackson for another few seconds before stepping back and ushering the man into apartment. After closing and relocking the door, he joined Roane on the couch.

“I’m not exactly sure. Last Friday, Griffin went out without me and disappeared. The police made me wait three days before they would take a missing person’s report. That was when I called you. Roane, he showed up about twenty minutes ago looking like a ghost. He’s beat to shit, and looks like he hasn’t eaten since he’s been gone. All I could get out of him before he passed out was that we needed to get out of town before someone comes to take him back.”

Teddy watched Roane pale as he waved the gun around. Though he had learned to shoot and had a concealed carry permit, his brother didn
’t know that. All Roane knew was that his twink of a little brother was holding a gun.

“Put that thing away and let’s go take a look at Griffin,” Roane said.

Teddy nodded as he flipped on the safety. After returning the gun to the bathroom he opened the door to the bedroom where Griffin was asleep on one of the twin beds. Though they were both gay, and best friends, they both preferred big, muscular men to each other.

Turning on the small lamp on the table between the beds, Roane carefully pulled back the blankets and knelt beside Griffin’s bed.

Teddy stood in the doorway and watched his brother examine the injured man, starting at his feet. Roane began cursing, and continued as he lifted the too-big t-shirt and checked Griffin’s chest and belly, something Teddy hadn’t had the stomach to do. Once he finished, Roane pulled the shirt back down then covered Griffin up. Then, as gently as he could, he shook the unconscious man’s shoulder.

  “Griffin, wake up.”

Griffin moaned and frowned as his head rolled side to side.

“Griffin, open your eyes and look at me,” Roane ordered, his voice growing deep and harsh.

That got a reaction. Griffin opened his eyes and turned to look at the man. “Roane. Where am I? Is Teddy okay?”

“Teddy’s fine. You’re both safe. Who did this to you? Who hurt you, Griffin?”

Swallowing hard, Griffin nodded as tears filled his eyes. “He called himself Doctor Pain. If it wasn’t for one of the guards carrying me out of there when he was sleeping—” Griffin stopped talking as he began to cry.

“Shhhh, it’s all right, Griffin. You go back to sleep now.” Roane gently patted the top of the man’s head, knowing there would be no injuries there.
