  Then, he became confused.

‘I don’t think I invited Young Master He to the dinner party! I wouldn’t have been able to anyway! Why is he here without an invitation?’

Many people were also asking the same question, though no one suspected that the Young Master’s presence at the dinner party was related to the kid. As far as they knew, the kid was a nobody from a backwater district after all, and he should not have the chance to be acquainted with such a powerful figure.

The police officers regarded the young man courteously.

“Young Master He! Why are you here?” Han Chenglin greeted him with a smile while massaging his swollen face.

He Yifei was shocked when he saw Han Chenglin’s face.

  “What happened to you…?”

“Oh, he was the one who punched me! He might look young, but he’s a savage one! Look at him. He’s Xu Xiangdong, the Young Master of Long Jiang group. He’s beaten by the kid too,” Han Chenglin said angrily as he pointed at Xu Xiangdong, who was sprawled on the ground and moaning in pain.

He Yifei was surprised again and he nearly jumped. “Oh my god, that’s too cruel!”

“Isn’t that so! That’s why we called the police to arrest him! Thugs like him ought to be punished to the fullest extent of the law! Don’t you think so, Young Master He?” Han Chenglin said.

  “That’s right…” He Yifei nodded.

Then, he remembered something and urgently shook his head. “No, no! He ought to be beaten up!”

Han Chenglin’s smile froze on his face.

Far from being the only one who was surprised, the people around them were also dumbstruck by He Yifei’s words.

Some people were even wondering if they had misheard.

‘Young Master He says that Young Master Xu deserves to be beaten?’

“Um… Young… Young Master He… You…” Han Chenglin was thoroughly confused.

“Ahem!” He Yifei coughed and said, “Pardon me, Mr. Han! I’m here to bail him out this time. He’s an important benefactor of the He family.”

Then, he walked in front of Tang Hao and bowed courteously. “Divine Doctor Tang! My father could not make it here today, so I’m here on his behalf! I’ve heard of you before, and now that I’ve finally met you, you’re… extraordinary!”

Everyone’s jaw dropped at that instant. You could fit an egg in those mouths.

‘Oh my god! Are my eyes and ears playing tricks on me?’

Young Master He was at the scene to help the kid, who apparently was an important benefactor of the He family. The young master was incredibly polite toward the kid too.

At that moment, they felt like they were in a dream or a fantasy story.

‘Isn’t the kid someone from a small backwater district? How could he be so important to the He family that the Young Master has to bow to him?’

Some people wanted to slap themselves to make sure that they were not dreaming.

Han Chenglin was thoroughly confused and his mind was blank.

“How could this be…” He mumbled. He felt dizzy in his head and almost fell on the floor.

He had thought that the kid was a windfall tycoon from a backwater district who might be rich but uneducated. He did not expect that the kid would be connected to the He family.

If he had known about that, he would have flattered the kid to the high heavens.

Long Jiang Group and the Luo family were nothing compared to the kid!

At that moment, he felt immense regret.

The two police officers who were grabbing Tang Hao were shocked. They let go of their grip as though their hands were scalded. “I’m sorry, Brother!” They apologized to Tang Hao, then urgently stepped back.

  Chapter 198 - Severing Ties

The people crowded at the bathroom entrance roared in surprise.

They could not believe what they had just heard.

Their gaze toward Tang Hao had changed completely.

Earlier, they had mocked the kid, thinking that he was an idiot to offend two big companies. Now, their expressions were full of respect and even admiration.

The kid was an important benefactor of the He family. Even Young Master He was so courteous toward him, and what was Yu Lin Group or Long Jiang Group in front of the He family?

The best course of action for Han Chenglin would be to pretend that nothing happened.

Meanwhile, Han Lu and Xu Xiangdong would be in big trouble!

Many eyes turned toward Han Lu.

Han Lu stood there in a daze. Her face was ghastly pale.

“How could this be?” She muttered to herself.

She might be capricious, but she was not stupid. She knew the extent of the He family’s influence.

Her family’s Yu Lin Group was nothing compared to the He family.

Then, she felt envious of Han Yutong.

That kid was a benefactor of the He family. Did that mean that her half-sister was connected to the He family now, thus elevating to a higher status?

Han Yutong, standing next to Tang Hao, was also confused with the sudden appearance of Young Master He.

Since when was President Tang connected to important people in Provincial City?

She suddenly realized that there were many things about her boss that she did not know!

Tang Hao narrowed his eyes and inspected Young Master He.

He Yifei had a square face and proper features. His eyes were clear and his figure emanated a righteous aura. He was a fine young man, and he did not look like he relied on his father’s authority to be a bully. It seemed that the He family brought up their children well!

“Young Master He!” Tang Hao greeted. He smiled and stretched out a palm.

“Don’t! Don’t call me that! My dad will beat me up if he knows about it. Just call me Yifei!” He Yifei said urgently, then stretched out his palm and shook hands with Tang Hao.

“Ah, Divine Doctor Tang! I’ve heard that your medical skills are out of this world. How amazing!” He Yifei exclaimed in admiration.

Tang Hao coughed. He felt a little embarrassed.

He knew that his medical skills were better than the average doctor, but he was not ‘out of this world’.

“Um… Yifei, please don’t call me Divine Doctor! I’m not worthy of that title. You can call me Tang Hao. Oh, how about you call me Lil Bro Tang?” Tang Hao said.

“Lil Bro Tang? That won’t do! My dad will pummel me and say that I don’t respect you.”

Tang Hao was speechless. ‘Why are you so afraid of your dad?’

“Right, I’ll call you Brother! Brother Tang!” He Yifei smiled.

“Alright then!” Tang Hao replied with a smile.

The crowd was speechless when they heard that.

‘Young Master He has to call that kid ‘Brother’! Just who the hell is he?’

“Brother Tang, what’s… up with all that?” He Yifei asked.

Tang Hao briefly narrated the events before his arrival.

“What? He’s worse than an animal! He deserves the beating, Brother Tang! Why didn’t you throw in a few more punches?” He Yifei said indignantly with clenched fists.

Tang Hao rolled his eyes. That guy would have kicked the bucket if he punched him a few more times.

“We’ll have to investigate this matter seriously!” He Yifei told the few police officers.

“Yes, yes! We will investigate this matter thoroughly! Don’t worry, Young Master He!” The leader of the police officers replied courteously.

Han Chenglin was flustered. If the police pursued the incident, his daughter would be in big trouble.

Han Lu was also getting nervous. “Dad!” She yelled.

Han Chenglin looked at Tang Hao with some difficulty, but he did not dare to open his mouth. Then, he turned toward Han Yutong.

“Forgive her, Yutong! She’s nevertheless your younger half-sister!”

“She’s not my sister! She wanted to strip away my clothes and ruin my reputation. H
as she ever treated me as her elder sister?” Han Yutong replied coldly.

Han Chenglin was shocked and could not find a reply. He could only sigh.

“Come, let’s go to the police station!” The police officers walked toward Han Lu and the other people.

Two of the police officers pulled Xu Xiangdong to his feet.

“You can’t arrest me, I’m the Young Master of Long Jiang Group… Why don’t you arrest him? Can’t you see that he did this to my face? Are you all blind?” Xu Xiangdong roared maniacally.

The two police officers rolled their eyes. “That’s enough. Let’s go!” They chided.

“All of you… be my witnesses! Didn’t you see with your own eyes that the kid beat me up badly?” Xu Xiangdong struggled in the police officers’ arms and looked at the crowd outside of the bathroom door.

The people shifted their gaze away awkwardly.

“Oh! Look at this exquisite wallpaper pattern!”

“Hey, the floor is really clean and shiny!”

The people looked at the walls and the floor as though they had suddenly found them very interesting. Xu Xiangdong’s jaw dropped.

“What… What are you doing?” He was about to pop a vein.

Tang Hao smirked, then walked ahead and gently tapped him on his shoulder.

“You can’t blame them for not helping you. You only have yourself to blame!”

He channeled a hidden gust of qi into Xu Xiangdong’s body with that shoulder tap.

Tang Hao knew that the police would only be locking him up until his family bails him out, and they would not be able to bring him to justice. Furthermore, with the Xu family connections to the police force, he would not be convicted of any crime.

However, he could not forgive Xu Xiangdong for attempting to violate Assistant Han.

Some time in the future, the gust of qi would erupt, and he would suffer immense pain and agony.

  “Go, go, go!”

The police officers pushed Han Lu and the other people out of the door.

After giving their statements, Tang Hao led Han Yutong out of the mansion.

“Yutong!” Han Chenglin caught up to them from behind.

At that moment, he was immensely regretful.

“Don’t call me Yutong. I’m not your daughter, and I don’t have a father like you!” Han Yutong said coldly.

Then, she grabbed Tang Hao’s hand and went out of the mansion.

The Lincoln stretch limousine was waiting outside of the front gate.

He Yifei’s jaw dropped when he saw the limousine. “I didn’t know you’re so rich, Brother Tang!”

“I’m not that rich. This limousine isn’t mine though, it belongs to the Luo family!” Tang Hao said while holding Han Yutong’s hand and leading her inside.

“Where are you going, Brother Tang?”

“Sending her home!” Tang Hao replied.

“Oh! I’ll follow behind then!” He Yifei went into his car.

The limousine’s door was closed, then the driver slowly drove away.

Han Yutong was silent as she sat beside Tang Hao.

“Are you OK?” Tang Hao asked.

“I’m fine!” Han Yutong replied softly, though she looked rather dejected.

“Perhaps I shouldn’t have persuaded you to come,” Tang Hao said.

Han Yutong shook her head. “Don’t say that, President Tang. I was very happy at the party. The incident in that bathroom was nothing. I was not scared at all!

“Because I know that you’re always by my side, and you’ll come to my rescue.

“To be frank, I’m a lot more relieved now. With that incident, I can fully convince myself and my mom to completely sever our relationship with that bastard.”

Han Yutong smiled as though a heavy burden was lifted from her mind.

About twenty minutes later, the limousine stopped in front of a residential area.

  Chapter 199 - Courting Death

Tang Hao sent Han Yutong up to the entrance of her house, then waved goodbye to her.

After seeing her go into the house, he turned around and returned to the entrance of the residential area.

He had dismissed the Lincoln stretch limousine earlier.

“Come, Brother Tang, you can sit in my car!” He Yifei said eagerly as he drove the car next to Tang Hao.

Tang Hao opened the car door and was about to sit inside.

Suddenly, he sensed that something was amiss. He casually glanced to his side.

A black car was parked at the corner of the street.

They were in the downtown area and there were many vehicles on the road. The black car should not have attracted his attention, but Tang Hao’s keen intuition told him that something was not quite right.

He furrowed his brows, then casually turned around and looked elsewhere.

Then, he sat in the car.

A thin and bony man dressed in black was sitting inside the black car that was parked not too far away. He was about forty years old and had a sharp face.

His slit eyes narrowed like a hawk, staring unblinkingly at the boy who was leaving the residential area.

“Bingo, that’s you!” He stretched his lips into a sinister smile.

Then, he lifted a cigarette and took a long drag. He was pleased with himself.

To him, missions like these were too easy. The target was merely a young kid. He would be dead in one bullet, and no one would ever find out who did it.

He was a hitman for more than a decade, and he had never slipped up.

The problem was the young man beside the kid. According to Boss Xu, he was the son of a high-ranking government official and needed to be avoided at all costs.

“Never mind. I’ll let the kid live for a little longer. We’ll see what happens when they part ways,” he mumbled to himself as he exhaled a cloud of smoke.

Soon, the car in front of him started moving. After it had gone a distance, he started his car and followed behind.

The car in front took several turns, then stopped about twenty minutes later.

Then, the car door opened and the kid stepped out.

The kid waved toward the car before they parted ways.

The hitman was incredibly happy when he saw that.

  “Hah! Now’s my chance!”

He could not stop smiling. That was the perfect opportunity.

He did not dare to make his move with the government official’s son around, but now that the kid was alone, there was nothing to worry about.

He gradually slowed down and parked the car by the roadside. He looked around and saw that the surrounding area was quite secluded, and even more so at that hour of the day. It was the perfect chance to carry out his mission.

The kid was standing somewhere in front of him.

Then, he suddenly turned toward the hitman’s direction.

The hitman was shocked when he saw that. He was worried that his presence was detected.

However, the kid soon looked elsewhere, as though just casually looking around.

“Phew! That gave me a fright!… Well, he wouldn’t have discovered me anyway!” He mumbled to himself while breathing a sigh of relief. Then, he resumed his usual condescending demeanor.

He was a professional hitman, and he was an expert in killing his targets without leaving a trace. How would the young kid be able to discover him?

He lit another cigarette to calm himself down.

The kid stood there for a while longer, then went into a restaurant nearby.

The hitman immediately wore his hat and pushed open the car door. He got out of the car with a black suitcase, then briefly surveyed the surroundings to look for the perfect sniping spot.

A few minutes later, he was already on the rooftop of a building, deftly assembling his rifle.

Then, he assumed his position. He looked at the street and saw that the kid was nowhere to be found. He should still be in the restaurant.

He aimed his scope at the entrance to the r
estaurant and waited.

His target did not leave the restaurant for a long time.

“Dammit! Why is he taking so long?” He grumbled.

Then, he lit up another cigarette.

A while later, the door opened and the kid walked out.

He immediately regained his focus, setting the gun sights on the kid once more.

He stretched the corners of his lips into a sinister smile. “Go to hell, kid!” He muttered.

He was about to pull the trigger when he noticed that the kid lifted his head and was looking at him with a grin on his face.

He was shocked and wondered if his eyes were playing tricks on him.

“F*ck me! What’s wrong with him!” He mumbled.

He rubbed his eyes, then looked into the scope again.

He was not mistaken! That kid was smiling at him. His mouth was opened into a wide, toothy grin.

The hitman was utterly dumbfounded. He opened his mouth, and the cigarette fell out.

“Haha! This must be just a coincidence! The kid must be mentally unsound and smiles whenever he feels like it!”

He stretched his mouth into a stiff smile, trying to comfort himself.

However, he could not wipe away the apprehension he had felt earlier.

He suddenly remembered that the kid had casually glanced at his car earlier, and felt more apprehensive than ever.

“Something isn’t quite right about this kid]! Well, whatever! I’ll still shoot him anyway!” He regained his sinister expression and looked into the scope again.

However, no one was at the restaurant entrance.

He was confused. He lifted his head and saw that the street was empty. The kid was nowhere to be found.

“Dammit, is he really a ghost?” He cursed under his breath and stood up.

He had just got onto his feet when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

His body stiffened as though it had turned into stone.

“You don’t have to look for me. I’m right here!” He heard an eerie voice behind him.
