‘Oh my god! Am I dreaming? How can he have such a strong cultivation base at nineteen years old? No one would believe it! He’s a monster!’

The heavenly masters stood there in a daze. After a long time, they started sobbing and tears flowed down their cheeks.

They were at least in their fifties but they could not defeat a kid of nineteen years old. It was a huge blow to their confidence.

After living for so long, it was the first time that they felt that their future was bleak.

After that, Tang Hao explained his grudge with him and Song Linfei.

The Mao Mountain Taoist masters were furious, while the Dragon Tiger Mountain heavenly masters kept quiet.

There was no reason that the kid would lie. They realized that they were in the wrong, and they had no moral ground to stand on.

However, they could not just let him go. After all, Old Master Song was good friends with Dragon Tiger Mountain.

“Just call him here, and I’ll talk to him!” Tang Hao said.

The heavenly masters discussed with each other, then dialed Old Master Song’s number and explained the incident to him.

Chapter 416 - The End of An Episode

In a house in the Capital.

Song Weimin sat on a chair with his phone in his hand. He seemed to be at a loss.

There was too much information in the phone call earlier. He was already old, and he could not process everything at once.

‘The heavenly masters of Dragon Tiger Mountain… defeated?’

Moreover, they were defeated even when they mobilized the entire mountain. The villain also mobilized his reinforcements. They were Mao Mountain.

He heard of Mao Mountain before. Being one of the forefronts of Taoist cultivation, they were as famous as Dragon Tiger Mountain.

What made him the most surprised was that the enemy was not an evil villain. That person was only nineteen years old, and his grandson was the one who instigated it.

He sat there, pondering his next move. He turned on his computer to check for information.

Indeed, the news of the attacks in Province Z was all over the Internet.

The shooting in the cinema, the snipers, the explosions, and the intense gunfight outside Grand Court Residences. All of these incidents had foreign involvement…

His brows were locked tighter and tighter as he read the news.

  ‘He’s done it this time!’

What the heavenly master told him must be true. His grandson had put up a bounty of two hundred million dollars to attract assassins from all over the world, which resulted in the ensuing chaos.

  “Sigh, this kid!”

He sighed at the incompetence of his grandson.

His grandson was capable in all fields. However, he was too prideful and, as a result, behaved impetuously at times.

Song Linfei should not have resorted to such extreme measures. For the Song family, their authority was their best weapon.

He thought for a while before dialing another number on his phone.

“Prepare for my trip to Province Z. Yes, now!”

Very soon, he was on a flight from the Capital to Province Z.

He arrived at Provincial City at about three o’clock in the morning.

When he arrived at Song Linfei’s mansion, Tang Hao was quite shocked when he first saw the old man. The patriarch of the Song family, who wielded immense authority, looked no different from any other old man.

He had to examine closely before he discerned the concealed aura of authority on the old man’s body.

Even though he was in his seventies, his aura was still as sharp and intimidating as ever.

He was dressed in a Chinese tunic suit. He got out of the car with the aid of a walking stick.

He swept his gaze around the room and his eyes fell on Tang Hao.

After all, everyone else in the room was an aged Taoist master. Tang Hao’s presence was too jarring.

  “Old Master Song!”

The heavenly masters went over to greet him. They all had guilty expressions on their faces.

“I’ve troubled all you heavenly masters this time!” Song Weimin said sincerely while bowing deeply at them.

“Oh, please don’t!” The heavenly masters said urgently.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, he walked over to Tang Hao with the aid of his walking stick. “So, you’re the one?”

Tang Hao peered at him coldly, then bowed slightly and gestured toward the living room. “Let’s go in and talk!”

  “Alright!”

The two people went into the mansion. Song Weimin’s eyelid twitched when he saw his grandson being tied up in a corner, but he did not react otherwise.

“Please sit down!” Tang Hao pulled over a couch.

“Alright!” Song Weimin sat down on the couch. His expression was tranquil. Tang Hao could not read what he was thinking.

Tang Hao observed him for a while and thought, ‘This guy conceals his true feelings well! No wonder he was once a leader of the country.’

“What do you want to talk about?” Song Weimin said, “I believe this is all a misunderstanding!”

  “Misunderstanding?” Tang Hao smirked.

“That’s right, just a misunderstanding!” Song Weimin said, “My grandson would never hire assassins. That is against the law.

“Maybe someone else has done it. Perhaps you might have thought my grandson did it because he has offended you.”

Tang Hao nearly laughed out loud when he heard that.

‘This old fox. He’s trying to push all responsibility away and all the fault to me.’

He chuckled coldly. “Old Master Song, we all know what’s going on, so let’s skip the pretenses. This isn’t the time for jokes. I don’t care if you admit it or not, but I have a few requests to make, and you’ll just have to agree to them.”

Song Weimin was silent for a while.

‘This kid doesn’t have any tact at all.’ He was a little angry, but he did not show it on his face.

  “Let’s hear them!” He said.

“First of all, get your grandson to take down the bounty. Also, compensate for all losses caused by this matter. Second, you have to guarantee that your grandson, and the rest of the Song family, will not act on me or anyone around me.

“Don’t blame me for being merciless if I ever find out something like this happening again.”

Tang Hao’s tone of voice was ice-cold.

“And finally, the Song family and the Ling family will be united by marriage, right? Cancel the marriage.

“Those three are all my requests. If you agree to them all, then there will be nothing between you and me anymore. You can take your grandson back too.”

Song Weimin did not say anything for a long time. His expression gradually sank.

“Don’t you think that you’re asking a little too much, young man? Don’t you know who I am, and the amount of authority I wield?

“I know that you’re not a mundane person, and you’re also in the army too. I’ve got someone to investigate earlier. You’re from the Agency, right? I have ways to deal with you!”

Tang Hao chuckled. “Is that so? Well, you can try!”

  Song Weimin was silent again.

He opened his mouth a long time later. “I will not admit to that bounty. However, I can get someone to investigate who did it, and help you to take that down.

“As for the compensation, don’t worry, I’ll take care of that. After all, we give a lot of money to charity every year.

“I can promise your second request too, but as for the third request, there is no negotiation. Everyone already knows about the marriage. We would be laughed at if it were canceled!”

“There’s no negotiation?” Tang Hao furrowed his brows.

“No negotiation! It’s out of my control now,” Song Weimin said.

Tang Hao chuckled. He did not believe it.

Old Master Song was the pillar of authority in the Song famil
y. As long as he requested it, the marriage could easily be canceled.

“If you don’t agree to it, then there’s nothing I can do. Don’t regret the decision though!” Tang Hao said coldly.

He was not going to let the matter go either. If Song Weimin would not agree to it, then he ought to bear with any consequences later.

“What do you want to do?” A crack finally appeared in Song Weimin’s calm expression.

Tang Hao did not say anything but instead glared coldly at him.

After that, he got up from his seat and said, “Remember what you have agreed. I’ll return your grandson to you now!”

After that, he turned around and walked out of the mansion.

He chatted with the Taoist masters for a while, then left the front gate. They got in their cars and drove back downtown.

Tang Hao breathed a sigh of relief as he sat in his car.

  The incident was finally over.

  Chapter 417 - Aftermath

Tang Hao was not too satisfied with the conclusion.

It would only be satisfactory if Old Master Song agreed to all three of his requests.

However, Old Master Song was a shrewd one. He did not admit to his grandson’s faults, and Tang Hao did not have concrete evidence anyway.

He could not directly oppose the authority of the Song family either.

He had to settle with only the first two out of the three requests.

As for how to save Ling Wei, there was still some time before the marriage.

Tang Hao was deep in thought on the drive home.

There was a roadblock on the road leading downtown. Fully-equipped military police were inspecting all the cars in both directions.

Too many things happened that day. From the gunfight in the cinema to the explosions and the intense battle in front of a residential area, each of those incidents was big news.

The Provincial City police force must be busy.

He checked the news on his phone. Indeed, it was the only thing that people were talking about.

Most of the people concluded that the incidents were terrorist attacks.

The cars passed through the roadblock, and they drove toward Grand Court Residences. They encountered several more roadblocks along the way. Everywhere in town, police sirens could be heard.

The mood in the town was oppressive.

When they neared Grand Court Residences, Tang Hao got out of his car and waved goodbye to the Taoist masters. He also gave them a few tens of jars of Divine Liquor.

After seeing the convoy leave, he looked at the empty streets and breathed a sigh of relief.

He took out his phone and dialed General Bai’s number.

The call was answered a while later.

“Hey, Comrade Tang Hao, what’s going on? It’s so late now, shouldn’t you be in bed?” General Bai yawned.

Tang Hao rolled his eyes. “No time to sleep! There’s a big incident!” He said candidly.

General Bai was shocked. “What big incident? Are you being hunted down again?” He said cluelessly.

“That’s about right! However, I’ve managed to settle it, but there’s an awful mess to clean up. I’ll have to ask you for help with that.” Tang Hao explained what happened earlier.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the call, General Bai’s mouth opened wider and wider.

‘What the hell? Assassins from all over the world, including those in the top ten, and… even Old Master Song is involved, and he went to Province Z?

‘That is a big incident indeed!’

  “And you’re fine now?”

“I’m fine for now. I’ll have to rely on you to clean up the mess!” Tang Hao said.

“It’s good that you’re fine!” General Bai said, “Alright, leave the rest to me!”

After ending the call, Tang Hao walked toward his apartment.

He was not worried. With Ol’ Bai helping him, there would not be any more problems.

When he neared his residential area, he saw that the street in front had a heavy police presence. There were three layers of blockades, and police cars were everywhere.

Most of the houses in the residential area still had their lights on. Curious heads stuck out of the windows.

Tang Hao was stopped by the police as he walked over.

He gave them his name and identification document. The police checked it with the resident list and verified his identity before they let Tang Hao in.

Police presence was heavy on the street.

  Click! Click!

Forensic investigators took photos of the crime scene.

Corpses were carried out. It was a spectacular sight when they were laid in a row.

“Tsk tsk! Another headshot? That must be some amazing gun skills!”

“Eh! I heard that there’s only one person who killed so many people. That’s incredible!”

“Heh! Huaxia, Dongying, Hindustan, Merrica, South America… they’re all here.”

The police officers talked with each other. They were amazed at the level of carnage caused by one person.

Many police officers stood in front of the entrance to the residential area. Tang Hao noticed Zhao Wuyang among them.

  “Tang Hao?”

Zhao Wuyang was surprised when he saw Tang Hao. Then, his expression changed drastically. He quickly walked over and whispered, “Tell me the truth. Are you involved in this?”

He almost forgot that Tang Hao lived there. He went to Tang Hao’s house once too.

He knew that Tang Hao was not a mundane person.

“How’s the investigation going?” Tang Hao did not admit to it.

“Sigh! If we could find any clues, I wouldn’t have to ask you. The security cameras here and at the cinema had all malfunctioned, and there’s no security footage. There are witnesses, but we’re not getting any useful information from them.

“Don’t tell me… this is all your doing?”

Zhao Wuyang looked suspiciously at Tang Hao.

“This has nothing to do with me. Right, later, the military will come and take over the investigations. Don’t worry about it!” Tang Hao said, then went into his apartment.

‘F*ck! So it’s him after all!’

  Zhao Wuyang stood there, speechless.

Police lines sealed up the entrance to the basement parking lot. However, there was no one inside. They must have already collected the evidence.

Tang Hao went past the police lines and headed to a corner.

There was a car parked in that corner, though normal people would not see it. Concealment spells and maze formations had been placed around the car.

He saw Liu Bingyao sitting in the back seat with her head lowered. She had fallen asleep.

Tang Hao smiled when he saw her.

  Then, he felt very guilty.

He opened the car door. Liu Bingyao stirred and slowly woke up. She looked at Tang Hao with bleary eyes.

“Are you OK? What… time is it now?”

She mumbled and rubbed her eyes, which made her look especially cute.

  “It’s all settled. Let’s go!”

Tang Hao held her hand and took her upstairs to his apartment.

He examined the door before opening it. Indeed, the door had been tampered with, and someone set up a bomb inside.

“Dammit, it must be that guy again!”

Tang Hao grumbled angrily, then disarmed the bomb quickly.

He cooked some noodles for both of them to eat, after which she went to sleep.

Tang Hao sat in the living room, took out pieces of raw jade, and started crafting jade talismans.

His car had exploded and all the jade talismans inside were destroyed. He had to craft another set and also buy another car tomorrow. After all, it was rather inconvenient to travel around without a car.

At about seven o’clock in the morning, he received a call from General Bai, telling him that the matter was settled. The army had classified the incident as a terror attack. In the meanti
me, they would step up the security in the city to capture the remaining assassins.

Tang Hao was finally relieved after hearing that.

Liu Bingyao woke up at about ten o’clock. Tang Hao went back to the university with her.

He met Teacher Jiang in the afternoon. She told him that her grandfather called her in the morning to explain what happened.

There was infighting within the gang, and the opponent wanted to use Teacher Jiang’s family as hostages to threaten her grandfather.

Now that the incident was dealt with, there would not be any more danger to Jiang Wanying’s family.

Her grandfather would be sending someone over to fetch them over for a reunion.

Her parents objected to the idea, but her grandfather was an overbearing person and did not care.

Teacher Jiang was rather frustrated about that. On one hand, she was curious about what her grandfather was like, but on the other hand, she would rather not be involved with Merrican Chinese triads.

The next day was the weekend. Tang Hao received a call some time around noon.

  Chapter 418 - A Visitor From Overseas

“Hey, Tang Hao, are you free now? Can you come over for a while?

Teacher Jiang’s voice was heard over the phone.

Tang Hao furrowed his brows. “The people your grandfather sent are here?”

“Yup! They’re here. They’ve actually reached last night, and they are meeting us this noon at a cafe near Z University. My mom didn’t want to go, but that person was persistent. That’s why we plan to go there and tell them once and for all that we’re not interested.

“But I’m still a little afraid… that’s why I’m asking you to come along. I think I’ll be more at ease that way,” Teacher Jiang said softly.

  Tang Hao chuckled.

‘There shouldn’t be anything to be afraid about. It’s her grandfather after all, he wouldn’t hurt them.’

  “Alright, I’ll come over now!”

Tang Hao did not voice his thoughts and immediately agreed to it.
