He smoked cigarette after cigarette to alleviate his sorrow.

“Cigarettes are amazing! Right, and the Internet too. I haven’t gone on the Internet for a long time,” he mumbled.

“What should I do next? Storm up Mao Mountain and f*ck those filthy Taoist cows over? That sounds like a good idea, but I wonder if those two old geezers are dead yet? If they’re not dead, then it’ll be difficult.

“And that freak of a kid too. I wonder what his affiliations are? He should belong to Mao Mountain too, right?

“Also, where am I? Sigh! Without my descendants, everything is so troublesome. I have to gather some minions.

“Right, I need to reunite all heretical cultivators and invade Mao Mountain! Once Mao Mountain falls, Wang Changsheng will rule again! Haha!”

He mumbled to himself and eventually laughed maniacally.

As far as he knew, there were other heretical cultivators like his Wang family descendants, but they could only hide in the shadows because of Mao Mountain.

He could vaguely remember the locations of some of those people.

“Right, that settles it. I’ll look for the heretical cultivators, reunite them all, and bring down Mao Mountain.”

He hopped to his feet, feeling incredibly excited about his genius plan.

Now that he had the motivation, he immediately left the mountain.

A peasant farmer who looked to be in his forties arrived at a small rural town.

He seemed incredibly excited as he walked down the street, staring at anything that he had not seen before.

He walked past a hair salon. Through the window, he could see that the interior was illuminated in pink. Several scantily-dressed women in heavy makeup were beckoning at him.

“F*ck, isn’t that a brothel? Why does it look like that?

“Dammit, there’s no point in flirting with me. I don’t have my parts, and I can’t do anything!”

As he turned a street corner, a suspicious-looking man came close to him and asked him discreetly, “Hey, bro, do you want to look at good stuff?”

Wang Changsheng was surprised. He was somewhat intimidated by that person. “What good stuff?”

“Hey, Bro! You don’t look inexperienced. Why are you pretending? Heheh, every man knows what good stuff I’m talking about! I have all types and all nationalities. Which one strikes your fancy today?

“Look here, I have Dongying girls, Merrican girls. Right, I have Russkayans too! They’re especially titillating!”

He opened his trenchcoat and displayed the rows of CDs within.

Each CD had an obscene cover.

Wang Changsheng stood there, petrified, for a very long time.

His face turned red with anger. He nearly annihilated that person in a fit of rage.

  ‘Dammit, can’t I get a break?

‘How am I supposed to release my urges if I watch those?’

“F*ck off!” He cursed, turned around, and left.

After going around town once, he rode on a bus toward his first destination.

It was an extremely remote village. He spent a lot of effort tracking down his target.

He was shocked when the door opened and he saw the person inside.

The person who opened the door was an old man in his seventies. He had a hunched back and a crippled leg. One of his eyes was blind, and one of his arms was a stump.

  ‘F*ck, he looks pathetic!

‘However, this old man has an abnormal flow of qi within him. He is indeed a cultivator and a compatriot.’

The old man did not sense what was abnormal about Wang Changsheng. “Looking for someone? Did you get the wrong place?” He said after glancing at Wang Changsheng.

  “I’m looking for you!”

The old man’s expression turned into one of abject fear. “Are you from Mao Mountain?” He exclaimed.

He turned around and prepared to run away.

“No, don’t be afraid! We’re on the same side!” Wang Changsheng frantically yelled.

He brandished his qi aura a little and explained what happened.

The old man was shocked for a long time after he heard that.

Of course, he had heard of Wang Changsheng before.

  That name was a legend!

He fell on his knees, carrying an indignant expression on his face. “You have to avenge me, Senior Wang! Those filthy Taoist masters from Mao Mountain did all this to me!

“All I did was steal a few souls. Did they have to kill me? Look at my arm and my eye. It’s all because of them.”

He started sobbing and could not form another coherent sentence.

Wang Changsheng was indignant after hearing that. “That’s right, they’ve gone overboard! We’ll have to bring down those filthy old Taoist cows.

“Quick, pack up and follow me. I’m gathering our forces to bring down Mao Mountain!”

“Don’t worry, Senior Wang. I maintain contact with many of us. I’ll call them over now. You’ll be our leader in our plan to bring down Mao Mountain.”

The old man went back into the house and made many phone calls.

News eventually spread through the heretical cultivation world.

“Changsheng of the Wang family is back!

“His cultivation base is restored. He’s a Perfected Person!”

Many people cried tears of joy when they heard that.

“This is the time of our glorious return!”

“This shall spell doom for Mao Mountain. Those filthy Taoist masters shall receive their due punishment.”

“Quick, let’s go and meet with Senior Wang!”

Many people appeared from every nook and cranny of Huaxia. Some were from remote villages, while some appeared from uninhabited mountains.

Those from remote villages were dressed shabbily like farmers, while those from uninhabited mountains looked like savages.

They hid in the shadow of Mao Mountain for many years. Finally, they did not have to hide anymore.

They could finally have their day in the sun!

They got on buses and headed toward the village from all corners of Huaxia.

As the days passed, more and more people arrived.

Wang Changsheng’s forces grew stronger as more people arrived.

“Bring down Mao Mountain! All hail Senior Wang!”

Such chants were whispered among the heretical cultivators.

The tide of war would soon reach Mao Mountain.

Chapter 544 - I Want To Be An Idol

In an academic building somewhere in Z University.

A suspicious figure walked along the corridor, occasionally stopping to look around. The figure arrived in front of a door, saw that no one was nearby, then pushed the door open and went in.

Someone was sitting in the middle of the classroom.

That beautiful person was dressed in a military uniform. She was none other than Yan’er.

  “Brother Hao!”

Yan’er stood up and greeted Tang Hao when she saw him enter the classroom. She quickly walked in front of Tang Hao.

“Brother Hao, is the figure in the rumors… really you?

“They said that you’re a big-timer who rides a helicopter to school! Is that true?”

Her eyes were sparkling and brimming with admiration.

She thought that Brother Hao was already an amazing person who started a major corporation from scratch. She realized that was nothing compared to what he could actually achieve.

A military helicopter had come to the university to pick up Brother Hao, and it was not the first time.

Rumor had it that Brother Hao was a part of the military.

She was incredibly excited when she imagined that. Her young, innocent heart was about to explode.

  Tang Hao nodded awkwardly.

“Wow!” Yan’er exclaimed and became even more excited. “You’re amazing, Brother Hao!”

Her petite face was red with excitement.

  “Don’t be too excited!” T
ang Hao laughed drily. He pulled her to a seat and briefly explained everything to her.

Yan’er mouth became wider and wider as she listened to Tang Hao’s explanation. The shock on her face was palpable.

Tang Hao’s confession opened her to a new world.

“Brother Hao, you say that you’re not human? No, I mean, you’re not a mundane human?” She said vacantly.

  “Yup!”

“And this… isn’t a normal bracelet either?” She pointed at the pair of bracelets she wore on her wrists.

  “That’s right!”

Yan’er sat there silently for a long while, though she eventually accepted the truth.

Her eyes sparkled even more beautifully.

“Alright, you should go back to your dorm and rest. You still have military training in the afternoon,” Tang Hao said.

“Mm!” Yan’er replied and stood up.

After taking a few steps, she suddenly stopped walking, turned around, stood on tiptoe, closed her eyes, and landed a kiss on Tang Hao’s cheek.

When she opened her eyes, she was blushing with embarrassment.

She kneaded her hands behind her back.

“I don’t care if you’re not a mundane person, Brother Hao. You are the bestest, amazingest Brother Hao to me! I admire you the most!”

Her head was lowered, and she spoke shyly.

She turned around and ran away, as though she was escaping from something.

Tang Hao stood there, dumbfounded. He lifted a hand and touched his cheek.

Eventually, he laughed. “Silly girl!” He mumbled.

He went to the door, looked to the left and right, made sure that there was no one, and left the academic building.

After he got out of the university, his phone suddenly vibrated. He took out his phone and saw that Liu Bingyao had sent him a message.

The message read: [Are you free this afternoon? Let’s sing.]

There was a cute emoji appended at the end of the message.

  ‘Sing?’ Tang Hao was surprised.

He thought for a while and realized that he had nothing to do that afternoon anyway.

  [OK.]

Very soon, he received a reply.

[That’s great! Come pick me up!]

Following that was a string of happy emojis.

Tang Hao rode a bus back to his apartment, then drove his car to the female dorm. Liu Bingyao appeared after a few minutes.

She was dressed in an elegant white dress.

“Just you?” Tang Hao was surprised.

  “Yep!”

Liu Bingyao smiled coyly and sat in the car. “Let’s go! We’ll go to the karaoke center that we went to last time.”

Tang Hao started the car and drove there.

On the way there, she opened her mouth several times as though she wanted to say something, but she hesitated and eventually closed her mouth.

  “What’s up?” Tang Hao said.

“Nothing!” Liu Bingyao smiled and shook her head.

A while later, she opened her mouth again and spoke embarrassedly, “Tang Hao, do you think that… I can be an idol?”

Tang Hao was surprised by the question.

  “Idol?”

“Yes! Like a singer, or an actor,” she spoke softly.

Tang Hao smiled. “Of course you can. You’re so pretty. You’ll be instantly famous if you go into showbiz. You’re better than any of the movie stars out there.”

She blushed slightly. “I’m serious. A friend of my aunt works in a talent agency. She says that I can give it a try if I’m willing.

“I didn’t think too much about it back then, but the thought returned recently.”

Tang Hao furrowed his brows when he heard that. “Showbiz can be quite chaotic.”

She nodded. “That’s true. I’ve thought about that too. That’s why it’s only a thought until now. I’m asking you out today so that you can teach me how to sing.”

Tang Hao laughed drily. “I can’t teach you anything!”

He heard Liu Bingyao sing before. Her voice was amazing.

“No, you’re much better than me! You’ll be instantly famous if you decide to be an idol.”

  She smiled shyly.

“Nah, I don’t like being public,” Tang Hao said, “But if you decided to pursue this path, I’ll be supporting you with all I can.”

  “Really?”

“Of course! If you become famous, Westridge will have a celebrity,” Tang Hao said, “Right, why do you suddenly have this idea? I’ve heard that being an idol is tiring work.”

Liu Bingyao lifted her head and looked unblinkingly at Tang Hao.

‘You idiot, it’s all because of you!’ She lamented internally. There was a hint of sorrow in her eyes.

Back then, Tang Hao was an unknown figure. Even though he had already earned a multi-million fortune, she thought that she had a chance with him. Eventually, she felt that the distance between the two of them became bigger and bigger.

She thought of becoming an idol so that she could match him in popularity.

Not only was he the chairman of a successful corporation, but he also had a special identity in the military. As for her, she was only a normal girl with nothing to boast of except for her looks.

There was no shortage of beautiful girls in the world.

She wanted to work harder so that she could be at his level.

Only then, she would be able to find the courage to speak the words that she had always wanted to.

She could feel a hint of melancholy creeping into her heart when she thought of that. It was an unpleasant feeling.

She soon composed herself and smiled widely. “I’ve always wanted to be a celebrity since I was small. I think I should strive to achieve my dreams while I’m still young.

“I’m not afraid of any unspoken rules or scandals!”

She lifted her hand and flashed her bracelet and blood jade bead. “You’re here to protect me anyway. I’m not afraid!” She said somewhat smugly.

Tang Hao was surprised. “Mm!” He nodded.

They arrived at their destination very soon.

They spent the rest of the afternoon singing in a private room.

Chapter 545 - Back In Westridge

  Late in the night.

The street lights and neon signs were brightly lit.

Two figures walked along the deserted street.

The young woman’s hair was black like ink, which contrasted with the white dress that gave her an ethereal appearance.

Next to her was a plainly-dressed young man.

They strolled casually along the street.

It was early September, and the night was warm.

“Tang Hao…” She suddenly called his name.

“Yes?” Tang Hao turned to look at her.

“Nothing! I just wanted to call your name.” She smiled like a blooming flower.

  Tang Hao was surprised.

“Just joking! Thank you so much for spending your time with me today! You’ve also taught me a lot. I think I can sing a lot better now,” she said with a smile.

Tang Hao smiled. “You’re already a very good singer!”

“Don’t flatter me like that!” She said shyly.

  “Are we still walking?”

“Let’s stroll for a little while more! It’s only nine o’clock. It’s still far from curfew!” She said as she continued walking forward.

They strolled for a while more before turning around and returned to the car.

It was almost ten o’clock when Tang Hao sent Liu Bingyao back to her dorm.

The streets were almost devoid of people by then.

Tang Hao got out of the car and opened her door.

“Thanks!” She shifted her legs and stepped out of the car with her high heels.

She did not go back into her dorm just yet. Instead, she stood there, clutching her handbag. The street light shone on her face, illuminating it as though it was like a scene in a dream.

/>   She took a small step forward and hugged Tang Hao.

“If one day… I can be a famous idol, I will tell you something by then. It’s something very important!” She said softly.

“This… is our promise! You must remember it!”

She let go of her arms, took a step backward, smiled at Tang Hao, turned around nimbly, and skipped into the building.

Tang Hao stood there, watching her disappear into the stairway.

He eventually came to his senses when he heard someone calling his name excitedly.

  “Look! Isn’t that Tang Hao?”

Tang Hao turned around and noticed several young girls walking along the street.

He hastily got into his car and drove away.

Back at his apartment, he suddenly remembered something and gave a call to Qin Gang.

He could hear noisy music on the other end of the call, as well as the voices of several women that flocked around Qin Gang.

“Sigh! He’s gone to have fun again!” Tang Hao muttered under his breath.

“Hey! Who is it? Oh, it’s you, Brother-in-law? What’s up? Do you want to have some fun too?” Qin Gang was already tipsy.

“You can have your own fun! I’m here to ask you about the map. Have you found anything?” Tang Hao said.

“What map? Oh, that one? There’s nothing yet. Everyone said that it’s impossible to decipher. Don’t worry, I’ve contacted someone who’s confident that he can decipher it.”

Tang Hao rolled his eyes. “Sure. I’ll leave it to you!”

“Don’t worry, I’m on it!” Qin Gang said heartily as he slapped his chest.

“Drink some more, Mr. Qin!” A coy voice could be heard.

“Yes, let’s drink!” Qin Gang yelled.

Tang Hao ended the call and sighed helplessly.

‘It’s time for you to grow up and settle down!’
