ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
When a father brings a fruit to his little one, the child with great ease enjoys the sweetness of the fruit and his father’s love. With equal ease the child credits the father for reaching the fruit all the way to him. However in reality, right from the soil to the rain to the farmer to the merchant to the wholesaler to the retailer, many invisible dots were involved in bringing that smile on the child’s face.
Likewise, you may all see me as an author of this book but behind this author becoming an author and penning down this literature, there are many invisibles involved. I would like to take an opportunity to thank all of them and would like to mention few of them here.
My parents Sri Nageswara Rao Sankuratri and Smt Prabhavathi Sankuratri who brought me up with those loving, inspirational legendary stories in my childhood before I went off to sleep every night on the terrace of our house, under the sky with the beautiful blanket of stars where the moon turned to be my nightlight. My father has the great habit of collecting books, our home is a mini-library that holds a collection of some of the rare and fine scripts brought together over some fifty years. Undoubtedly his collection of books gave me access to quickly refer many aspects while writing this book. My mother is a natural artist but still considers herself as a lifetime student and is forever willing to learn tips to improve her skills from time to time from various artists. She has been my first reference when I have to search for an illustrator for this book.
My wife Smt Sridevi Sankuratri for her love and great support in reading me out all the references collected from various sources in spite of her long restless days at home with the little one. Her support helped me in jotting down many points from the references collected and this helped in accelerating my writing.
My friend Smt Anusha Dilrukshi Jayasekara Hettiarachchige Done or rather simply Anushi deserves special thanks for seeding a thought in me to write a book on Ravana and his legacy.
Smt Padmini Bhavaraju is the lady behind an online Telugu publication, www.acchamgatelugu. com and a walking encyclopedia of Indian epics and scripts pertaining to Sanathana Dharma. After my father’s collection, she is my immediate point for any reference required. Whenever I had a doubt or required a reference pertaining to ancient scripts and found difficult in searching, she would be my search tool.
Smt Usha Rekha Puttachari, you can see her in every illustration inside the book. Those lively illustrations took life from the hand of this young artist.
Sri. Rambabu Inakoti, an young talented champ and the man behind the cover page illustration.
Sri Veera Ramana Reddy Papillugari, retired bank officer yet young by heart and soul, my well wisher living in the same neighbourhood is yet another remarkable gentlemen who encourages me in writing this book right from the beginning. After every chapter I penned, he is my first reviewer.
Sri Narayana Murthy Pedapudi, a good friend and well-wisher working for the software industry is another man of great encouragement.
Sri Dr Subramanyam Annadaanam and Sri Dr Vijaya Saradhi Vadde, the learned scholars and authors for their blessings and giving me their access to great comfort. At times while writing the book, when I got stuck and found difficult in taking the pen forward, it was these two who gave me tip that opened out my writing.
Lastly, I would like to thank the entire team of “The Write Place” initiative of Crossword Bookstores Ltd including, Anup Jerajani, Indur Vaswani, Manish Purohit, Vinitha Ramchandani, Neena Gupta and many invisibles for extending their hand in bringing this book out professionally.
Yours ever,
Bala Venkateswara Rao Sankuratri

Isura Devapriya
I am more than happy to send this note after reading the literature on Ravana and his era by Mr. Bala Venkateswara Rao Sankuratri.
The literary work is outstanding and undoubtedly this book has great miles to go. The thought of making Ravana narrate the book is beyond imaginations and took me to those ancient days throughout my reading. The purpose of Ravana’s birth on earth and how Sri Lanka turned to be the holy land on this planet by helping Ravana getting closer to eternity was well expressed. The island’s glory during Kubera and Ravana’s era sets an inspiration to re-build the golden Sri Lanka. Vibhishana and Sri Rama’s association in the book underlines the neighboring nation’s co-operations since ages. Through this book I forecast Indo-Sri Lankan relations grow from close friends to best friends for ever.
I recommend the world to read this book and travel to Sri Lanka on Ramayana Trail to explore the memories of the most ancient documented history.

MESSAGE FROM TANIKELLA

Ramayanam is India’s biological nerve and is in every individual’s blood. Re-telling the same old text in such a new dimension and so refreshingly threw me to an amazement.
It is not possible for a person to re-write the ancient text in this new tangent unless and until he possesses the highest degrees of liking, research and interest on the subject along with an exceptional devotion. Above all, this Ramayanam is written in Ravanabrahma’s perspective and I was amazed many times while reading this book. Telling the episodes that we already knew in a completely different version, yet maintaining the original flavor is definitely an incredible talent.
Srimadh Ramayanam always had the instinct of making one read and this book would add a new experience to our mind and thinking.
Bala Venkateswara Rao is blessed.
