Scrambling (Out in the NFL Book 1)

  I know this book is full of angst, but if you think about what a gay football player must go through to come out while playing for the NFL, there was no way to make this story cute or amusing or low angst. Just no way. Okay, maybe if it were set in an alternate universe where society has no prejudice against being gay. But that’s not my story. My story isn’t even as angsty as real life would be for a gay football player because after all, I gotta have a happy ending. I don’t do romance any other way.

  And that’s why I’m here to say THANK YOU. To ZAM, Tara and KC, to Michael, to Bill and Tom who sadly are both gone now and every reader and friend who said I could do this.

  I did. And I sold it.

  Later, when I got it back I wasn’t quite sure what to do. So many other football books have come out since I had that first discussion with Bill about this book. But now it’s back for all to read, giving my guys a second chance with readers. There are so many more MM readers now than there were when these guys were first published. I’m hoping this book gets into the hands of new readers so they too can enjoy these guys that Bill Neale (their first fan!) liked so much.

You’ve been great at helping this poor, broke author put her entire backlist, including this book, back out for the public to read.
