“Sure, I’ll wipe off the screen then I need to feed, Dom. He’s grouchy when he’s hungry.”

His face came into view. “You guys enjoying your vacation?” He sat at the counter, sipping a cup of coffee.

  “We are,” Carmen grinned.

“Good to see you Sergio, I’ll let you talk to Dominic.”

  “Nice seeing you too.”

  Carmen vacated the room.

  “Did you talk to Rémy?”

  “Yeah, early this morning.”

“Happy he brought you up to speed.”

“You guys don’t have to worry about anything. There’s a minor flu bug meandering in the house. I felt it was best the kids remain home.”

I exhaled. “Thanks, Dad, for thinking of their wellbeing.”

  “No, problem. Love you, son.”

  “Love you too, Dad.”

Carmen appeared in my peripheral as I ended the call.

“Everyone’s coming down with the flu bug, huh?”

Arms crossed, she bounced off the door frame.

“Why tell my dad you’ll let us talk, but never leave?”

I sauntered past her down the wooden staircase.

  “Dominic, I just returned.”

Threading our fingers, I guided her toward the sofa.

  “Have a seat.”

Carmen’s eyes widened as she sat cross legged.

I sank into one of the two tan chairs across from her.

“Baby, I don’t deserve you.” Head down, I swallowed hard, gripping my damp hair.

“I know I deserved a devil like Angelita.”

“Don’t say that.” I heard the hurt in her voice.

“You’re sweet, beautiful, brilliant. Carmen, you’re too good for me.” I gripped my hair tighter as my eyes squeezed shut. “Living without you would’ve broken me. Not having you in my life wasn’t an option. If you weren’t already in love with me, I would’ve held you captive.”

Soft fingers slid over my thigh. I shook from the inside out. The mango scent of her hair swept up my nose.

Carmen peeled my hand from my hair, gripping it tight in her delicate palm.

She stroked my stubbled cheek with her free hand. “I hate when you spit those toxic words.

I met her gaze. “Carmen, constant danger follows this family.”

  “What’s going on?”

“Marco, Dillon, and I ran into a little situation last night.” I pulled the other chair closer. “Have a seat.

She sank into the comfy chair.

“A man who pretended to be a friend to Emoni was actually a mole. He arrived in town yesterday.”

  “What?” Her lips parted.

“Yeah, she mentioned she’d be here on vacation and he took it upon himself to fly to Punta Cana. Marco arranged a meeting. You know against his will.”

  She nodded.

I leaned over, clutching her thighs. “Carmen, I didn’t release Diego.”

She pushed against my hands, trying to break free. “Dominic, I asked you not to kill him.”

I waved my finger. “Technically, you asked me to wait a few months.”

“Yeah, I didn’t mean it, Dominic,” she yelled in my face.

“He called you brown eyes. He’s lucky I didn’t end him that night.”

“Guess you should’ve then. You couldn’t listen to me once. Have you forgotten you’re running for Governor? Dominic, the governor candidate, can’t rip the streets killing.” I ignored her rage.

“The man who flirted with my sister-in-law, did you think his progressive statements were harmful?”

  Her eyes closed. “No.”

“Now we’re getting somewhere. Did you think Diego was harmless?”

“I thought he was stupid for pushing.”

  “Agreed. Back to Tom.”

  Her eyes bulged.

“Did you know he followed you ladies to Tulsa?”

  Her back straightened. “What?”

“He didn’t catch wind of the mission. Romeo and Rémy kept him comfy until Dillon arrived. Long story short, we gathered the men in a warehouse and asked if they knew each other. They did. The bastards said their job was to flirt with our wives.”

Carmen’s hands flew over her mouth.

“They were a diversion to throw us off the trail of the person coming for us. Whoever it is wants every territory in New Jersey.”

“Did you find out who the person is?”

“No, the guys wouldn’t rat. We still killed them. You understand they had to go?”

She sighed. “Yes.” The wheels turned in her head.

“This person will hit again once he learns we killed the men he sent to fuck with us for shits and giggles. He finds amusement in our love and respect for our vows.”

She chuckled. “I guess he doesn’t know about your kiss with the show girl.”

I smiled, pulling her into my lap. “Jealousy fits you.” My teeth clenched her nipple through her shirt.

“Carmen, she’s part of the problem. Our new enemy may have sent her too.”

  “I’ll take care of her.”

I slicked my tongue along her neck. “No, babe. We need to use her. See if we can connect the two.”

  Carmen didn’t respond.

  “Babe, I’m serious.”

“Yup.” She tried to wiggle away.

  “Look at me.”

Our gazes locked. “We’re at war, Carmen. Be cautious of your surroundings. When you go to a bar only purchase beer in a bottle. We can’t trust anyone. My parents will keep the kids in the house.”

Her forehead dropped against mine. “I love you, Dominic.” Carmen dug her fingers into my shoulders.

“I’m crazy in love with you, babe.” I slid my fingers in the back of her shorts.

“Oh, no. Don’t move those fingers another inch. You’ll find out how wet I am and we’ll never go water skiing.”

My lips brushed hers. “Let me touch that magic hole that drives me wild.”

“Maybe we shouldn’t try to get pregnant right now.”

“Quiet, I whispered as my finger sank into her pussy hole.

“Dominic, later I want to come hard while you fuck me in my ass.”

Yup, I turned my wife out. It wasn’t my idea. One day she asked if I’d ever fucked a chick in the ass and if I liked it. I told her I did. Then she wanted us to try ass play. I’m addicted to my wife’s pussy. Her ass is an added bonus.

  “To the beach.”

She stumbled to her feet. I towered over her.

“Just us today?” Her hands splayed my bare chest.

  “That’s right, babe.”

Carmen grinned from ear to ear.

Twenty minutes later, Brian whipped the speed boat across the waves. Carmen and I held onto the handles as our skis hydroplaned over the water.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

  DILLON

  MOBSTER

SITTING ACROSS FROM my beautiful wife on the patio, we relished the view of the clear blue ocean washing over the sand. I felt calm for the first time in a long time. Despite what was to come.

“I can’t believe it’s Monday already. We return home Friday.”

My skin pulsated under the warm sun. What awaited us at home was war. I wasn’t eager to fight another war so soon, but it was a necessary step to diminishing our latest threat.

  “Dillon?”

“Yes, baby.” Holding the fork steady, I slid my knife through the medium rare steak.

“It gives me the creeps knowing I was followed from state to state.”

Stabbing the steak with my fork, my jaw twitched as I stared into my wife’s beautiful gray eyes.

“I can only imagine how you feel.”

  Not at all.

“You know, since you thought the fucker was harmless,” I snarled.

  “Dillon, you made your point.”

Gripping the arm of her chair, I yanked her close.

  She yelped.

My hand floated over the tr
opical print skirt cover up.

“What did you expect me to do, spit in his face? Say my husband will murder you in cold blood if he finds out you’re flirting with me?” She cocked her head.

I palmed her neck. “Fucking yes. My husband is a jealous psychopath and once he finds out...” I clamped my teeth on her earlobe. “...when he finds you, you’re a dead man.”

Her chest rose and fell so perfectly. I’d love to rip the bikini top from her body.

“I thought he was just a flirt, nothing more. Learning he was obsessed with me changed how I saw him. If we would have caught him. I would’ve tortured him. After you’ve beat the living shit out of him what’s next?”

I smiled against her flesh. “A long painful death. He had no right trying to sleep with my wife. Damn sure shouldn’t have followed you.” My hand slipped from her neck between the long slit of her skirt and dipped into her bikini bottoms.

“Dillon, the guards are walking the property.” Sierra’s throat bobbed and her eyes darted back and forth. I could feel her heart pounding.

“Then you better come quick. Because I’m not stopping until you do. Widen your legs, baby.”

Her trembling legs spread, and I hooked two fingers inside her soaked pussy.

Sierra held my bulging arm like a pillow. “Oh, God.”

I enjoyed the side view. Her body wrenching under my touch, so fucking perfect.

“Yeah, fall apart just like that. The last time you came was last night. I told you, I’d make you come at least twice a day.” I breathed, then sank my teeth into her right breast.

  “Dillon, Dillon,” she purred.

“That’s right, hurry. One of the guards will circle that corner any moment now.”

The threatening heavy steps pounded the cement.

Her head rocked back. “Fuck,” she roared. That gorgeous body shuddered violently against me.

I caressed the nape of her neck as I devoured her quivering lips. Removing my hand from her wet pussy, I peeked into those eyes I loved so much.

“As of Saturday night, I ended him.” Venom poured over my words like lighter fluid. My tongue slicked across her parted lips.

Sierra’s eyes darkened. “Why didn’t you tell me Saturday?”

“Not sure why the delay. Just know you’re safe.”

Sierra wrapped her arms around my neck.

  “Thank you,” she sighed.

“Oh, by the way he wasn’t stalking you romantically.” I sipped the glass of cranberry juice.

Her eyes grew the size of saucers. “What?” panic struck her voice.

“He was part of a bigger plan to bring down the Magarelli’s. Actually, every family in New Jersey.”

Sierra reached for her plate and placed it beside mine. She didn’t say a word.

  “What’s on your mind?”

“The kids,” she shrilled. Sierra grabbed her phone. I placed my hand over hers.

“They’re safe. My dad will keep them in the house until we get back. We’ll lock everything down once we return. What did Emoni tell you happened Saturday night?”

  Her eyes narrowed. “Nothing why?”

“She was at the warehouse with Marco and Octavius.” Sierra gulped her mimosa.

  “Why was he here?”

“Because of Emoni. He wanted to see her.” I tossed my hand in the air.

“I don’t know. You’ll have to ask her.”

“I don’t understand. Explain,” she bit out.

Not sure if Sierra's anger was directed at me or her best friend.

“He was using her to bring down Marco.”

She slumped over her plate, chest heaving. I pulled my wife into my lap. Sierra stared into space.

“The guy who came onto Carmen at the club was a plant too. Whoever’s behind this master plan knew our wives were our weakness. They hoped we’d snap in public.”

Sierra draped her legs over mine and looped her arms around my neck.

“We were alone together yesterday. You didn’t say a word.”

“I didn’t want to ruin our day. I also want you to enjoy our vacation.”

“How can I? This person or organization penetrated our family.” She peeked at me. “Did you get a name?”

“No, they wouldn’t talk. They were loyal to a fault. We sent Rémy to New Jersey with our precious cargo. He brought my dad up to speed.”

“I want to go back to bed.”

“No, you need to eat. Besides, we have a fun day planned. Shopping,” I grinned.

Sierra laughed. “If you say so.”

  “Look at me.”

Her sad eyes met mine. “When this trip is over, our lives will change. That’s why it’s important you enjoy yourself.”

“My ex-husband loathes the ground you walk on. This situation’s adding fuel to the fire.”

“Screw that fucker. We’ll handle him later.”

Sierra’s eyes dimmed. I felt like I failed her.

“Baby, I need your head in the game.”

She scooted into her chair. Sierra’s long hair became a curtain between us as she ate breakfast. I rarely lost my appetite. But the distance between me and my wife made my stomach uneasy.

SIERRA FACETIMED WITH our children for twenty minutes before we strolled along the beach. After seeing they were safe, I think that put her mind at ease. Sierra halted, scooped up a clump of wet sand and threw it against my chest. She chuckled and stuck her tongue out. Sierra ran into the ocean.

“I’ll get you.” I stalked toward her.

  “Stay back,” she laughed hysterically.

Leaning over, I grabbed her leg and arm and tossed her into the clear blue water.

Sierra shrieked. Emerging from the ocean, she wiped her face free of water. Her smile was infectious. She jumped on my back, plastering kisses all over my face.

  “I love you.”

My heart felt like it would leap out of my chest. All I wanted was to make her happy and keep her safe. I needed her to enjoy herself.

“I love you beyond words, Sierra.”

“We’ll get through this like we did the last time. Together.” She kissed my cheek.

  “Come here.”

Sierra slid off my back. I pulled her in front of me. Clutching her face, I stared into her eyes. “You’re everything I always wanted in a wife. Your kind, loving, and sexy as fuck.”

She blushed. “And most importantly, you’re my beautiful wife.”

The water crashed against our bodies. I sank my lips against hers. Our noses brushed, and I slid my tongue past her sweet lips. “You’re all I want.”

Her fingers swept along my back as she licked, then bit my lower lip. “I want to fuck you right now.”

We were in our own bubble, away from the shore. Sliding my hand along the nape of her neck, I deepened our kiss, owning her mouth with my tongue. Sierra moaned as our tongues wrestled. I released her, catching my breath. Flinging her arms around my neck, she smiled against my lips. “I want to be fucked so good after dinner tonight, then I want you to hold me tight.”

I brushed my thumb along the side of her face. “Nothing I enjoy more than being deep inside your pussy.”

Her hands splayed my chest as her forehead fell against mine. Her long lashes swept along her honey brown face. “I know. The way you make me feel when we’re together is loved. Goosebumps prick my arms and butterflies flutter in my belly when you touch me.” She smiled.

“I don’t want you to ever lose that feeling. Standing here with you at this beautiful resort is what dreams are made of.” I placed her hand over my heart.

  “Feel that?”

  “Yes.”

My heartbeat slammed against my ribcage. “This is what you do to me.”

I marveled at that beautiful face as her lips turned upward. “Yeah, every minute of every day my heart beats for you.”

Her lips pressed against mine. “The quicker we hit the shops, the sooner I’ll receive my real prize tonight.” She tugged my hand, lea
ding me toward the beach.

Sierra and the girls browsed accessories and clothes at the small storefronts along the beach. The guys and I sat at a wooden picnic table in view of our wives.

“Dillon, are you, all right?” Tony nudged my arm.

“No. I’m worried about Sierra. I feel guilty.”

I felt my friends and family's worried eyes on me. Sipping my drink, I kept an eye on my wife. Rémy had returned and insisted on guarding Sierra. After all, I was the boss of the Magarelli crime family. My bodyguards’ sole purpose was to protect those closest to me.

“Our new situation has rocked her from the inside out. She wanted to lie in bed. I persuaded her to walk on the beach. Sierra appears to be ok.”

She threw her head back in the distance, laughing at something Zoey said.

I noticed she distanced herself from Emoni. She was bitter. Her best friend didn’t mention the private party with our scum guests.

“Marco, we need to have a talk with Sierra and Emoni.”

Leaning on his forearm, he nodded against the mouth of the beer bottle.

“Yeah, Emoni sent a text. Said Sierra’s brushing her off.”

“Sierra wasn’t happy she didn’t mention the private party.”

Marco stretched his hand. “She had no idea you guys would show up.”

“I know. That’s why we should clear the air to put an end to Sierra’s fury.”

“Sounds good. We can talk along the shore line.”

“Everyone have a good time yesterday?”

“Yeah, Carmen and I went snorkeling. Later, we went dancing again, this time on the beach.”

“I hope you actually danced. You were stiff as a board at the club. You stood there allowing her to hang all over you while you drank.”

“She couldn’t ever say I didn’t spend time with her. Last night was much of the same. I swayed to the beat a little. I know one thing.” He pointed. “It was cooler on the beach than it was in the club the other night.”

“Ain’t that the truth.” Sebastian shook his head.

  “No laptop today?”

“Nope Dillon. I promised Sydney I’d spend less hours working.”

I peeked at Jacob pecking away at the keys on his laptop. He hid under a tan baseball cap beside Sebastian.

  “Jacob, are you with us?”
