I gripped her hip to keep her in place as I ground into her. Her pussy lips were just as satisfying as her mouth and her hands. I could only imagine how the inside of her pussy would feel wrapped around my cock. Just the thought was enough to draw me close to the edge, to push me toward my own eruption.
I growled as I humped her. She squeaked with each thrust, her hand flying down to grab mine. I locked my fingers with hers and held on to her as I continued sliding against her pussy lips. It didn't take long for it to have the proper effect. Within seconds, I was humping madly and huffing with every thrust, my hair falling into my face as I leaned forward to grip her harder.
When I came, I burst all over her stomach. I twitched and growled while digging into her flesh, trying to gain leverage as I lost control of my faculties. I threw my head back with one final grunt that gave way into a satisfied chuckle. I dropped my chin and found her limp again with a drunk smile on her face.
Her lips were coated with Jack's come.
She licked her lips and sat up, sitting on her elbow. She was blinking slowly like she had been suddenly injected with morphine. Jack handed her a tissue. She gratefully wiped her mouth and sat all the way up, woozily edging over the table to stand. I fixed my pants and then held her hands as she stood up shakily in her heels.
She pressed her nose into my chest. The gesture itself was sweet, but something about it made me nervous. I don't think I often embraced my lovers after sex. I wrapped my arms around her and held her there for a moment, feeling her heart beating rapidly against my chest. It soon slowed as she continued breathing at a normal pace.
When she pulled away, I felt a tug at my heart. An emptiness sat there that I hadn't recognized. It drew me toward the curtain and I pulled it aside curiously, staring at the other patrons on the dance floor.
“Time for a refill,” I proclaimed. “We've lost our drinks.”
“I second that,” Brooklyn chimed. “Jack, are you coming?”
Jack looked lost for a moment. He recovered quickly, hiding his confused features with a debonair smile. But I knew that look. He was as befuddled about her as I was.
“Of course,” he said quickly. “We should have shots.”
“I like that idea!”
She brushed past me and hopped back out to the floor, cruising with the other people around her. She swayed her hips and raised her arms up above her head in rhythm with the music. I couldn't stop staring at how adorable she looked. It really seemed like she was having a good time.
Jack elbowed me toward the bar. It was slightly quieter there and he leaned over to say, “That was interesting.”
“Very.”
“I think this is more than a hook-up.”
I laughed. “Jack, you're delirious! You need another drink. Bartender!” The bartender came over and took my order. I clapped a hand on my best friend's shoulder. “Don't be such a fool.”
“She's more than just a librarian, Cooper. I can feel it.”
“Well, I don't feel much aside from being relieved. All that tension was getting to my head. Maybe it's gotten to yours, too.”
“No, it's not that.”
I arched my eyebrow at him as our drinks arrived. I handed him a shot and encouraged him to take it. When I had taken mine, I set the glass on the counter upside-down. “I've never seen you take to brooding, brother. What's got you so dizzy?”
“Her.”
I followed his gaze to the dance floor. Brooklyn was still in the middle of the chaos, swaying with the music to what seemed like a dance she had created. She looked like a goddess commanding the sea or a temptress drawing up a storm. Every move she made was magical and I couldn't look away.
“Perhaps you're right,” I admitted slowly. “But we have gotten lost in the wrong sort before. This is no different.”
“You know what's weird?”
I shrugged.
“Our roles have switched.”
I stared blankly at him. “What do you mean?”
“I mean that you're usually the one worrying about everything while I'm reassuring you it's nothing to worry about.”
“I don't think a slight change in routine has anything to do with—”
“It's definitely her. I think she has an effect on us.”
I huffed with amusement. “The only effect she has is causing our cocks to twitch. Now, let's get this drink over to her before I end up drinking it. You're stressing me out.”
He resolved to end the conversation which made me sigh with relief. I didn't want any more of his theories or worries. Brooklyn wasn't taking us anywhere other than Pleasure Town and I wasn't about to have that ruined by some sort of feeling that it was more than sex.
It wasn't more than sex.
It couldn't be.
Chapter 9
Jack
It was another night for the books.
No amount of explanation made Cooper see the reality of our situation: Brooklyn was changing us. She had influence over our personalities and she could easily sway us in opposite directions if she saw fit.
She might even be able to pit us against each other.
I shook my head while preparing the next set of interview questions. We were on our boat on the lake preparing to pick up Brooklyn for the second interview. It might have been the third interview. I guess we had already had two interviews. I wasn't necessarily keeping track of how many.
But my cock sure was worried about the next round of encounters.
I couldn't place what she made me feel. It was a mixture of elation and excitement with just a hint of paranoia. Her lips were tantalizing and they transported me to another realm, yet her eyes kept me grounded in reality.
“Did she get her dress?”
I blinked at Cooper, unable to comprehend much of anything. “What?”
“The gown that we had made for her—did you send it to her?”
“Of course, I did, Coop.”
At least that had remained the same: Cooper was badgering me about tasks.
“And the flowers?”
I rolled my eyes. “We'll be pulling up any second now. You can ask her.”
“What's with the attitude?”
“I don't have an attitude.”
He hummed. “You seem different.”
“Now are you convinced?”
“Hardly—I think you just need to have her suck you off again.”
“It's not that simple, Cooper.”
“And how can it not be that simple? We've both been rather deprived lately of a proper woman's touch. It's no wonder we're feeling strange. We're just not used to this.”
“That might be true. The last one was months ago and she was...”
“Wild.”
“That's one word for her.”
He laughed. “It's funny. People think we hook up every night, but we don't.”
“I guess that just comes with being rich. Everyone assumes we get what we want.”
“Wait, we don't get what we want?” He smiled and laughed while adjusting his shirt. “Alright, how do I look?”
“Handsome, for once.”
He snorted. “Well, you look like a barnacle.”
“Wow, someone is feeling bratty.”
The boat came to a slow halt and we both walked casually to the side that was poised at the docks. I spotted Brooklyn immediately. She was wearing the dashing evening gown that Betty had made just for her based on her personality. It brought me joy to see her wearing it with such a huge smile on her face. Her hair was done up in a tight bun and her bangs hung over her forehead. Her lips were red and her eyes were outlined with a royal blue, the same color as her dress.
Her figure was outlined by the gown perfectly. The neckline dipped low from thin straps and led down into her hourglass figure. When she moved, the stars on the dress winked as if they were greeting us.
I was impressed. “Wow.”
Brooklyn approached the boat. “What are you staring at?”
I wore a
crooked grin, unable to respond. Even when Cooper elbowed me, I couldn't get myself to respond.
He replied for me: “You look ravishing.”
“I'm surprised somebody knows my style so well,” she commented. “But let's get to business, shall we?”
Cooper extended his hand to help her on the boat. She stepped up with grace, her gown shimmering and swaying behind her like a veil cut from the night sky. I couldn't stop staring at her.
She really was changing us—or, at the very least, she was changing me.
“You look great,” I blurted. “Are you ready for dinner?”
“Absolutely. What are we have?”
“The finest seafood that Phoenix can offer,” Cooper replied.
We led her to the deck that was set up with a white-clothed table and three chairs. There were string lights hanging overhead and casting an ethereal glow over the whole boat. I heard her gasp and saw her cover her mouth, trying to hide her reaction.
I smiled warmly. “After you, ma'am.”
I held a chair for her to sit down. When she relaxed into the seat, I helped her scoot up to the table. I grabbed a cloth napkin and opened it up before setting it gently on her lap. Cooper lifted the bottle of champagne from the ice bucket and poured us each a drink.
Brooklyn lifted her champagne flute with an impressed grin. “And here I thought you seduced women with your money instead of your charm.”
I chuckled. “Did you want us to shower you with gifts?”
“Oh, I think you've already done that.”
“We take pride in honoring our guests,” Cooper explained. “Which means providing them with whatever they need whenever they need it.”
“And when will I ever need an evening gown like this again?”
I shrugged. “Who knows? Maybe you'll go to another ball.”
“I highly doubt that.”
Cooper sat down and folded his hands on the table. “And why's that?”
“Balls weren't really my thing. My sister is all about public appearances—I'm more about what's behind the scenes.”
“Like who we really are?” I inquired.
She nodded. “Sure. And I suppose that's what these interviews will tell me.” She sipped her champagne before setting the glass down. “So, ask away.”
I cleared my throat while preparing the paper I had typed up. I felt like I was a teenager again, presenting my report to the class. Only the class was Brooklyn and she was staring directly at me. I never suffered from stage fright.
Why was it happening now?
I loosened my tie slightly and leaned forward, grasping for confidence with my posture. “You've expressed that you think our readers should visit libraries more. What other services do libraries offer?”
“Well, there's a collection of services and information available. You can use the computers, check out books, research all sorts of topics, find jobs, and participate in our programs.”
“What kind of programs do you have?”
“We have volunteer programs for those who wish to give back to the community such as reading to children or the elderly. We also provide classes to improve job interview skills.”
“That's fascinating,” Cooper commented. “Do you think with the rise of the internet that libraries might become obsolete?”
“I thought this interview was about flexing the brain muscles?” She smirked playfully and wiggled her nose. “Although I'm not opposed to increasing foot traffic in libraries. We need it.”
Cooper flashed a grin. “Well, my question still stands.”
“Sure, I think the internet could potentially shove us out, but we still have human resources. We have people who can give you much better answers to your questions.”
I nodded. “So, when flexing the brain, is the library like going to the gym?”
“Absolutely.”
“What kind of exercises would you recommend for improving brain function?”
Brooklyn hummed as she sat back. She glanced at the sky, revealing the soft skin of her neck. The sight of her made me lick my lips. I swallowed the knot on my throat while trying to grip the paper in my hands.
How was she making me so hard already?
When she redirected her gaze to me, I froze up. Her lips sparkled with gloss and her cheekbones were highlighted, making her look much more like a goddess than the previous night. I could have sworn I was being judged by the gods, by this gorgeous creature made entirely of stardust.
“Retaining a healthy diet is one key to healthy brain function. To exercise the brain, I'd recommend reading at least twenty minutes each day. Read books that challenge your vocabulary. Look up words. Try to use them in a sentence at one point in the day. All these things can help improve brain function over time,” she outlined.
“That sounds incredible,” I whispered.
“What's that?”
“Oh, I said, that sounds healthy.”
Cooper eyed me carefully and chuckled. “I think what he means is that he's impressed.”
“I can't imagine how. You could probably find this information on the internet.”
She giggled and I joined her, noticing the servants were waiting for our cue. I waved for them to bring out our selection of food. They set up the plates in front of us and then set down the trays, gesturing politely at our choices.
I watched Brooklyn. Her features shifted when she saw the amount sitting in front of her. She looked like a child in a giant candy shop. And it made my heart swell to think she was momentarily satisfied.
“This is wild,” she gasped. “I've never seen so much seafood in my life.”
“We hope you enjoy it,” Cooper expressed.
She nodded and dug in, filling her plate. The table fell silent as we each sated our appetites, filling ourselves contently with food. I wanted to ask her more questions. I wanted to know all about her goals and aspirations, but I couldn't seem to transform any thoughts from my brain into words for my mouth.
She had me speechless.
“Mind if I ask a few questions?” she asked while tapping her lips with her napkin. “I mean, I know this is to interview me, but I'd like to get to know you two.”
I nodded mindlessly. Cooper agreed as well.
“What do you like doing in your spare time?”
Cooper scoffed, “What spare time?”
“Well, clearly you have the funds to do whatever you want. So, what do you do?”
“I like snowboarding,” he responded.
She turned her gaze to me, repeating the question with her eyes.
I felt stricken. “I like to read.”
She laughed. “Really?”
“Sure, why is that so hard to believe?”
“I guess I never took you two seriously in college.”
Cooper laughed. “Nobody knew the intelligence we hid behind the popularity. It's what made us so successful. People undermined our intelligence and then got blind-sided by a well-curated plan.”
“Sounds like sparkling manipulation,” she teased. “But what most businessmen would likely do in any given situation.”
“It's worked for us,” I said.
“And it continues to work.”
“I'm just surprised,” she said.
“Let us surprise you even more,” Cooper suggested.
When he raised his hand, the whirling motor of the boat softened until it stopped. We were out in the middle of the lake now. I hadn't noticed that the boat was moving since we had sat down to eat, having been distracted by Brooklyn's beauty the entire time. We came to a pause on the water, the boat rocking idly as the moon hung lazily low in the sky.
I stood up and invited her to join us. We walked to the edge of the rail and sat still, her standing between us while gazing in awe at the beauty of nature.
She sighed contentedly. “I could get used to this.”
“We could have more interviews on the boat if you want,” I offered.
“No, it's not that. It's...”
She licked her lips as hesitation wrought her face. “I mean, this has been lovely. The interview is a plus because it brings me attention—and it brings reading attention—but I don't know how to explain it.”
“You can try.”
She turned to me then with a look on her face that I hadn't seen for years. It reminded me of my failed escapades in monogamy when I discovered that my true joy came from sharing with my best friend. She looked into my eyes, her pupils widening as she studied me.
Was that affection I saw flash over her face?
“I'm just very thankful. I don't know how to show it,” she admitted.
“I could think of a way...” Cooper said.
His hand had risen to her shoulder, rubbing the exposed skin there. I followed his lead and reached for her arm, dragging my fingers down to her elbow. I left a trail of goosebumps in my wake as I traced every edge of her wrist, palm, and fingers. She hissed when Cooper kissed her neck and she relaxed into him, her body nearly going limp at our touch.
I slid my hand around her waist and went for her chest, pressing my lips gently to her cleavage. Her chest heaved to greet my mouth. She expanded as I trailed down, dipping low between her breasts and marking them hungrily as my cock twitched in my pants.
Every sensation was like a drug—I couldn't get enough. My fix had yet to come from encountering her, from experiencing her. The sheer force of her beauty and lust was enough to prompt me into action, causing my hands to bunch up her gown, drawing the hem closer and closer. I exposed her legs and shifted beneath her dress to find her pussy.
She bucked into me as soon as I touched her panties. Her warmth glowed against my fingers as I slid beneath the fabric, drawing lines up and down her pussy lips. She gushed and I groaned hungrily, wanting nothing more than to fill her up and drag her down into a blissful pit from whence she could never climb out.
I dragged my lips up her neck to her chin where I sat for a moment as I listened to her breathing labor. Cooper was working to reveal her breasts. He tugged at the straps of her dress and let them fall, slipping the fabric aside to expose her nipples. The air caused her nipples to harden and I reacted instantly, dropping to take one of them in my mouth.
“Let's play a game,” Cooper suggested. “We'll call it Cooper Says.”
