Dominic’s mother was so hurt and disgusted that her neighbors didn’t try to help when she was in danger that she decided to move to San Francisco with him. Sebastian had helped her to get an apartment in a building that was full of senior citizens. She played bid whisk with some of the neighbors on Tuesdays, and on the weekends, she played spades with another set of neighbors. The apartment complex had a top-notch security system, not that it was needed. It was in an excellent neighborhood.

Generational Bank opened on schedule, and the computer system was running great. The board of directors was so pleased with the work Sebastian and Dominic did that they hired them to setup the location they were opening in Houston the next year.

Dominic felt two hands on his waist. The hands smoothed to his stomach and pressed him backward against a nice, hard chest.

“You did a wonderful job on the tree,” Sebastian said in his ear.

“Thanks,” Dominic said with a big smile. “I can smell the food. I’m sure you fixed something scrumptious.”

“Hmm. Not as tasty as you,” Sebastian groaned and started suckling Dominic’s earlobe.

Dominic chuckled. “Don’t start something you can’t finish. Our guests will be arriving in a few minutes.” He turned around to wrap his arms around Sebastian’s shoulders.

“Your sister’s plane landed on time, right?”

“Yes, Marjorie texted me five minutes ago. She’s going to grab a cab from the airport. By the way, it was nice of you to invite her to stay here for the holiday.”

“There’s plenty of room. No reason for her to waste her money on a hotel. Oh, I want to give you this before the Christmas party gets underway. I know you wouldn’t be able to wait a week, and I’m anxious to know what you think of it.” Sebastian pulled a small box out of his pocket. He handed it to Dominic.

  “What is it?”

  “It’s your Christmas gift.”

“Oooh,” he oozed with intrigue and took the lid off the box. He stared at the car key with the long, bulky black key fob with buttons. Realization struck him. He looked up at Sebastian. “You didn’t.”

Sebastian’s smile was broad and wide. “I did. You have a brand-new Chevrolet Corvette waiting for you in the parking deck. And yes, it is red.”

Dominic felt lightheaded. He had mentioned a few months ago how much he wanted the newest model Corvette, but he couldn’t afford it. He was almost speechless . . . almost. “Have I ever told you that you are the most generous, handsomest, and smartest guy I have ever known?”

“Yes, but I don’t mind you tell me again,” Sebastian said with mischievous grin.

They laughed and kissed each other.
