Healed Hearts

  Perfect.

Her orgasm swept through her, and she screamed out. She dug her nails into Thomas’s shoulders as the spasms wracked her body.

All of a sudden, all three of them bit her at once. Piers and Lucas bit each of her thighs, and Thomas sank his fangs into her neck.

Bliss descended, and she was swept away for long moments before landing back in her still trembling body.

Thomas was still on top of her but unmoving, his hard length still within her.

Maryanne wrapped her legs around his slim waist and pulled his face down for a kiss. He groaned as his tongue speared her lips apart at the same time as he began to move. He slid out, and she gripped him with her legs and lifted her pelvis, desperate. Then he slid back in.

“Lucas, Piers.” She turned her head and held a hand out to them.

Lucas pointed to the bed next to her. “Piers.”

Piers moved quickly, kneeling and bending forward for his lover.

Maryanne was about eye-to-eye with Piers and felt a huge wave of pleasure sweep through her as she watched his face when Lucas thrust into him.

“Oh, fuck. Luc, that feels so good.”

Maryanne reached out a hand, and Piers gripped her fingers tightly.

Her whole body was clenching up again.

Thomas whispered in her ear. “You know we will never let you go now. We will love you until the end of time.”

Maryanne squeezed her eyes shut and let all the feelings that were bombarding her flow free.

Love, contentment, affection, and commitment. These men would die for her now, and that was a powerful thing.

“Come in me, Tommy. Let me feel you.”

Her lover shuddered at her words and picked up his pace. He was pounding into her now.

The stars were forming. She was going to explode again.

Maryanne held tightly to Piers and Thomas, then made eye contact with Lucas.

  “Come with us, Lucas.”

A tear slid down Lucas’s cheek, and he threw his head back.

They exploded in a maelstrom of sensation. Joined together, complete. Forever.

  Epilogue

  Nine months later

When they returned to London, a huge scandal followed Maryanne, but with Lady Abigail’s careful handling of the situation, they weathered it well.

Everyone in London soon learnt of her paralysed “fiancé” and they all wanted to know how it had happened. Maryanne told them his accident must have occurred before she had arrived, because she was sent back to London without ever meeting him.

The London ton did not let the subject rest, and with her parents still wanting to see her married off and settled, Maryanne took her leave and ran away.

The four of them went to live at Abigail’s country estate. It was two hours removed from London and Maryanne and her three men could live as they pleased. Love as they wanted to.

“I will laugh if you have triplets.” Abigail smiled up at Maryanne from the floor where she played with her own half-vampire children.

Maryanne sighed and rubbed her enormous belly.

“I am very afraid of it myself.”

She was much larger than she should be and her physician had suggested that a multiple birth was very possible.

“Did all three of your men release their seed inside you that first night?” Abigail asked with her characteristic bluntness.

Maryanne’s cheeks heated like the inside of a fire grate. She was still not used to talking about lovemaking as freely as all the vampires and Abigail were.

She didn’t object to it, of course, but in mixed company, it still seemed so rude for some reason. But that didn’t mean she was shy in their bedroom when they were alone.

“Ah...yes, they did. That’s why I’m scared. Do you think that’s why you had twins?”

Abigail nodded as she tickled her daughter, and the toddler took off at a run across the room.

“Yes, we don’t have any twins in my family, and I do believe it is because there are two of them, and they both equally love me.”

Maryanne sighed and rubbed the pain stretching across her lower belly.

“Some days, I wonder who loves me the most. Often, I think it’s Piers because he so desperately loves the feeling the union gives him. Other days, it is Luc or Tommy because they won’t leave me alone for one moment.”

Abigail laughed and leant back on her hands. “You will never know, because there is no answer. By definition of the vampire union, they all love us exactly the same.”

Maryanne looked across the room to Abigail’s children. “Have you decided on a date for your turning?”

Abigail’s eyes grew serious once again. “Yes, I think it is time. I don’t nurse my children any longer and Michael and Nathaniel need me more now. I’ve told them I’m ready.”

Maryanne nodded and cupped her large belly in her hands.

“What have you decided?” Abigail asked her.

Maryanne looked up and smiled at the woman who was now more than a friend, she was family. “I think I will do the same. Birth our babe, or babies, and wait a year. My men aren’t rushing me.”

Another pain ripped across Maryanne’s belly, and she gasped, lurching forward in her chair and groaning.

Abigail called out for the butler. “Jennings! Please call my doctor for Lady Maryanne, and when our husbands awake, let them know that Maryanne is in labour.”

Panic assailed Maryanne. What was she going to do without her men? She stopped breathing, and the pain intensified. It was only morning. She had hours until they could come to her, and she needed them.

Abigail’s hand gripped hers. “Breathe, my friend. I am here, and this can take all day, so you need to stay calm.”

Another pain wracked her lower back and belly. She bent forward once again. It was horrible and intense. Nothing like Maryanne had expected from her first pains.

Abigail pulled her to her feet as soon as the pain had left, just as abruptly as it had come.

“Let’s get you walking a little.”

Maryanne frowned but began walking as her friend suggested. “Really? I was told to lie in my bed.”

Abigail snorted, very unladylike. “That’s the fashion now, but it is very painful, and the baby finds it hard to get out. Michael and Nathaniel suggested walking and kneeling, I could use my body’s strength as that’s what women did in their time. I had no problems with my labour because of that.”

Another pain ripped through Maryanne, and she groaned, panic clawing at her. “This is very painful already. I don’t know how I will survive a full day of it.”

Abigail smiled knowingly. “We are built for it, Maryanne, but if you would like, I will organize a bath for you. The hot water also helps.”

Maryanne nodded and rubbed her belly that was tight as a drum.

  A bath would be perfect.

Ten hours later, Maryanne was cursing her men as they flew through the door.

“I hate you all!” she screamed as Thomas and Lucas both grabbed a hand, and she bore down with a mighty push.

The pain eased for a moment, and she collapsed back on the pillows propping her up.

She glared at Piers, who leaned over her and wiped the sweat from her brow.

“If there are three of these things in me, I will never forgive you.”

A smile lit up Piers’ face that even in Maryanne’s pain and confusion, gave her a deep-seated pleasure.

“All right, Lady Maryanne. I can see the head. Push slowly and ease the baby out.”

Piers kissed her and moved down to where the doctor waited.

Gathering her strength, she tightened her grip on the men’s hands and squeezed tightly. She pushed down on her baby gently, over and over, until she felt the head clear her body and slide out.

  Relief.

She groaned and fell back against the pillows as the pain eased as though it had never been. How amazing was that? One moment she felt as though she were dying, the next sh
e was exhausted but pain free.

The doctor was wiping and wrapping the baby, a small perfect cry reaching her ears.

Piers picked the baby up and smiled. “He’s very small, but he looks like Thomas.”

“Oh... how beautiful...” She lifted her head and looked towards her baby, just as another wave of pain hit. She’d been right.

  “Oh, hell!”

She pulled herself up, and the doctor chuckled. “Again, Lady Maryanne. Gently.”

Maryanne forced herself to work with the pain that was easing her child into the world.

A pop and her second baby slid free of her body. Another huge wave of relief and another baby was shown to her.

“He looks like Lucas,” Piers said, and he was right.

Maryanne closed her eyes and took a deep breath. There would be one more.

The pain began, and she didn’t even pull herself up, just bore down and cried out as her last and smallest baby slid into the world.

This baby’s cry was the loudest, and Maryanne knew he would be the most amount of trouble.

Pain forgotten, the urgency of her baby’s cry reached deep inside her. She undid her nightgown and opened her arms.

  “Give him to me.”

Piers, tears streaming down his beautiful face, handed over the baby who looked just like himself.

He was tiny, but so perfect.

Maryanne offered him her breast and gasped at the strength of his attachment. Thank goodness he didn’t have fangs yet.

Lucas came back to her side with his son, and Thomas emerged with his.

They laid both babies down in front of her so that she could see them all.

Three sons, each with a face like their father’s.

  Heaven help her.
