“I bought this place to fix it up for us. I'm going to gut out most of it and do most of the work myself. I just wanted you to see what it looks like before I fix it up.”
“You bought us a dilapidated building?”
He laughed at her expression and tugged at her hand. “Let’s look around. I want to sell you on the place. We could have more fruit trees planted along the perimeter fencing. I was thinking that we could put in a tennis court—” He saw the expression on her face and then shook his head. “Or maybe a basketball court and right here,—” he dragged her over to one side of the fence. “—definitely a swimming pool. I want to start working on it as soon as possible.”
“Can you please slow down?” she complained. “What's wrong with where we live?”
“It’s an apartment and I've always wanted a home.” The statement was said in a simple tone and had her staring at him. “I never had one,” he shrugged and looked at her. “I want a home with us living in it together, spending our lives here and taking walks after dinner. Sitting by the pool and watching the sun set.”
“I want that too,” she said quietly as she went into his arms. “I really do.”
He wrapped his arms around her waist. “Good,” he murmured. “Let me show you the rest of the place.”

“It’s the big Fourth of July thing at the club I'm a member of. It’s a day and night activity. The day is mostly dedicated to the kids of the members with pool parties and endless rounds of barbecue and too much noise,” Blaine said wryly. “At night there's a party for the adults where we get to mingle and socialize. Do you want to go?” he asked her.
“I would love to go,” she told him definitively. “I want to see this place where you spend most weekends, and I have yet to meet some of the wives.”
“So we're going, I was thinking that we could spend the night and come back home the next day.”
“I would like that,” she said as she wrapped her hands around his neck. “You've been spending a lot of time out at the house.”
“We've started the groundwork and are chipping away at the bad areas. I want it finished before September.”
“So quickly?” she asked him raising her brows.
He nodded. “I kinda want it finished before my birthday.”
“For a party?”
“I never had one before,” he said with a shrug.
“We'll have to remedy that,” she said lightly, feeling her heart break for the childhood he'd had to endure.
“Thank you,” he told her softly.
“You're welcome, darling.”

“I met my husband at that bar,” Kelly pointed to the poolside bar where drinks were being served. A group of the wives were lying around on lounge chairs taking in the brilliant sun. Every now and then the men who were married to them would look over at the colorful display of the different colors of the bikinis they were wearing and admire the flawless complexions of the women they loved. Most of them had turned up for the all-day, all-night event. Sky had finally met the ones she hadn't met before and found that as a group of wealthy and powerful women they were very down to earth and friendly.
“She bombarded the poor guy until he finally said yes to her,” Felicia said with a laugh.
“You bet your sweet ass I did!” Kelly said as she searched for and found her husband in the group of men gathered around the large grill. “I had to show him that we belonged together.”
“My story was the complete opposite,” Hailey drawled as she rubbed cream into her skin. “David was determined to prove that he was the man for me. I was thinking to myself that yes the sex was incredible but this guy was ten years younger than I was and he was this incredible, handsome playboy. I'm a respectable lecturer and I certainly knew better than to get involved with someone like him. That argument certainly didn't work.”
“Mikhail was so domineering and from the start he established that I was going to be his woman,” Deandre laughed. “That was the way he put it!” She shook her head as she looked over to where her husband stood with their children, her expression softening. “That man drove me to so much frustration that I found myself wanting to hit him with something.”
“Is it just me? Or is the sex out of this world?” Skylar asked them suddenly. The group of women looked at her for a moment and then burst out laughing, drawing attention over to them.
“It’s not just you, darling,” Leesa drawled as she looked at her husband, who had just come out of the pool, the water dripping from his lean muscled body. She felt her mouth water as she looked at him. “It never gets old either. Every time I think I get used to it he makes love to me and brings to new heights.”
The women breathed a collective sigh as they looked at their husbands.
“So it’s not just me, then?” Skylar asked teasingly.
They looked at her and then laughed again, dispelling the charged atmosphere.
Later that night as they gathered inside the huge conference room she was given a surprise. She'd brought a stunning dove gray dress with her and wondered if it was too much but as she looked around at the other women she was happy she'd done that.
She looked around for her husband but he was nowhere to be found and then her attention was drawn to the stage area as someone came forward to speak at the microphone there. “We have a very pleasant surprise to look forward tonight,” the woman said with a smile. “Without further ado I will exit the stage and make room for talent like no other.” She departed and Skylar’s eyes widened as she saw her husband come towards the microphone. Her breath caught as she stared at him. He was wearing a dark blue tux and the white shirt was unbuttoned several buttons down, giving him a rakishly handsome look. He searched and found her where she was standing with Brad and Ryan. “I was roped into singing tonight but I wanted to dedicate this song to the love of my life. Skylar Mallory, this is for you darling.”
He looked at the man at the keyboard and nodded. Skylar stood transfixed as he sang Luther’s ‘Here and Now’. She wasn't the only one who couldn't move or take their eyes off him. The song ended and still they stood there, spellbound by the rich baritone. He went straight into another song; one by Peabo Bryson: ‘My heart Belongs to You’. He was singing directly to her and Skylar found it very hard to breathe as she stared at him. He stopped singing to thunderous applause and cat calls as he made his way through the crowd to the woman he loved beyond words. He acknowledged the slaps on his shoulders as he made his way to her. By tacit agreement both Ryan and Bradley moved away and left them alone. Instrumental music had started to play giving the couples present the chance to dance. “How about it, baby?” he asked her softly as he pulled her into his arms.
She nodded, too choked to say anything as she melted in his arms. He held her close and sang softly to her. Skylar closed her eyes and felt the love they shared wrapping around them like blankets.

“I wanted to have it outside by the pool but it's supposed to rain later today and it's cold,” Skylar said as she ushered the women inside. The house had been finished the end of August because her husband and his crew had worked overtime on getting it ready. They'd moved in the middle of September into the sprawling five bedroom, four and a half bath house with the front and back porch. Blaine had hired a total of two gardeners to do the landscaping and the ground was lush with flowers, stretching from the sides of the house straight back to the new wrought iron gate. She'd sent him away to spend the day with Brad and some of the others while she got the party ready. She wanted to make it a huge deal to make up for the ones he never had before and had gone all out.
“In here's good enough darling. Where do you want the enormous amount of balloons?” Leesa asked her teasingly. They'd started arriving in the afternoon to help her. The caterers were already there setting up the tables and the chairs as well as the ladies who'd been hired to decorate the place with blues and greens to match his eyes.
“T
oo much?” Skylar asked with a laugh.
“Not at all,” Kelly told her as they went into the large elegant living room where the party would be held later. “I know we've been here for the housewarming ,darling but I have to tell you again that this place looks amazing!”
“I love it,” Skylar told them. Her mother and her husband had arrived an hour ago and were in the small living room with her aunt Grace. At least they were talking.
“Look at that cake!” Eva exclaimed as she stared at the towering chocolate cake with white frosting.
“He likes chocolate,” Skylar told her.
“This looks amazing, darling,” Hailey told her.
“I want it to be,” Skylar said.

Later that night when the party was in full swing she snuggled in his arms as they circled the floor. The food had been eaten and the cake cut and distributed and the wines that had been provided by members of the club had been imbibed and it was time for dancing. “Did you like it?” she asked as she looked up at him. She'd given him a set of golf clubs for his birthday. He'd looked at her in amusement. “Golf?”
“A rich man’s game,” she'd told him cheekily. “And it’s time you take things easy. I understand you're quite good at the game and I had to find that out from Brad.”
“He's probably peeved because I trounce him at every game,” He'd told her.
He looked down at her, his green eyes bright. “I love it and tonight after all our guests leave I'm going to show you how much I appreciate it.”
“I'm just putting you on notice, I'm going to be doing this every year.”
“Is that so?” he said softly.
“Hmm.” Her arms tightened around his neck. “Maybe each year it will be bigger than the next.”
“Thank you, babes,” he whispered as he looked at her. He'd stopped trying to fight what he felt when he was near her and gave in to it. For several months he'd waited for her to tell him that it was too much, but she welcomed it and he'd embraced it.
“You're welcome.”
*****
“How about a dip in the pool before we turn in?” he asked her with a grin.
“Absolutely not!” She told him firmly. It was a little past midnight and every one of their guests had left for the night, and now they were alone. “It’s cold and wet, Blaine, in case you didn't know that.”
“It’s just sixty degrees.” His tone was persuasive. “Just one dip and then we come back in. It's still my birthday.”
“Technically, your birthday expired ten minutes ago, babes,” she told him dryly.
“Please?” His thick eyebrows lifted as he looked at her.
Skylar sighed in resignation. “If both of us catch our death inside that freezing water, I'm blaming you.”
“Noted,” he said with a grin as he stripped down to his underwear.
“Put a pair of shorts on, Blaine,” she told firmly.
“Yes ma’am.” He did that and when she'd put on the leggings and t-shirt he scooped her into his arms and went with her outdoors. The lights came on automatically, brightening the grounds, reflecting on the incredible blueness of the pear-shaped pool. He'd added cut stones with the clear water jutting from the hollow area of the stones. He stood with her in his arms and looked over at the yard of the place that he now called home. He looked down at her and she understood the look on his handsome face. “I'm fifty-four years old and it's the first time I've ever been happy,” he said softly. “It's all because of you.”
She touched his face and her touch lingered. “You make me happy every single day of my life.”
“No regrets?” he asked her.
“None whatsoever.”
*****
He took his time with her. He'd stripped off his wet clothes and used the towel to dry himself off and now stood totally naked in front of her as he took off her wet clothes and rubbed her down with the towel. She'd tried to dry her thick hair but had given up and had spread a towel beneath her head to absorb the water. His eyes met hers briefly as he ran the towel over her skin. It was a simple procedure, he was just getting rid of the water from her skin but it was more than that. He was aroused and she could see the thickness of his penis hardening with every movement he made with the towel. He opened her legs wide so he could get between them and as he moved further up her thighs she closed her eyes and felt her heart pounding inside her chest.
She stiffened when the towel touched the protruding flesh of her sex. He opened the folds of her vagina and wiped there carefully, giving it a thorough cleaning that had her moaning as the softness of the towel ran along the softness of her vulnerable flesh. He didn't say anything, not even when he bent her legs and placed her feet flat against the bed. Her back arched as he used the towel to twist around his finger and put it inside her slowly. “I want to make sure I get everything,” his voice was thick as he eased into her. “To get all the moisture out.” He pushed further into her.
“Blaine.” She gasped and arched her back, her hands gripping the sheets tightly, her body trembling.
“I want to be thorough.” He felt the wave coming over him and fought it desperately. “Jesus!” he whispered as he felt the aching stiffness of his dick. He was going to have to do something about it and soon.
“Enough!” Skylar felt as if her skin was burning from the heat invading her body. “Please Blaine. I can’t stand—”
“I know baby,” he got rid of the towel and climbed into bed and over her. “Put it in,” he said through gritted teeth. “Now.”
She complied hastily, her body lifting to meet his as she put him inside her. He sighed long and loud, his body shuddering as he looked at her. She wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him further into her. He took her lips with his slowly, shuddering as her short nails dug into his back.
His tongue touched hers and he felt when tremors from her body and his heartbeat accelerated, competing with the fire crawling inside him. He moved with her, the pace increasing as her movements became restless. The animal inside him that surfaced whenever he was with her was clawing at him, driving him to a brink with no return. He felt the roaring inside his ears and his hands tightened on her hips as he navigated the movements, his heart thundering inside his chest as he thrust into her over and over again.
Skylar drummed her heels against his back as the emotions took her over and swirled through her unsuspecting body. It didn't matter how many times they made love. She wasn't prepared for the crush of emotions and passion that swept through her when he was inside her. He lifted his head and stared down at her as he fought the wave that threatened to pull him beneath the surface. He pulled out of her, evading her arms as she tried to pull him back. “I need a minute,” he told her hoarsely. His skin felt clammy and he felt faint with the emotions pouring through him. “Just give me a minute.”
He hovered over her, his hands braced against her head. He took several deep breaths, his body shuddering as he willed the madness away.
“It’s okay,” she touched his chest and he jumped. “It’s not just you.”
“I know,” he whispered. He closed his eyes and then opened them again. “Put me back in.”
She took his erection in her hand, wrapping her palm around the wetness of the rigid member and slid the skin up and down.
“Now baby,” he said huskily, his body quivering.
“I love looking at it,” she whispered, her body trembling.
“I'm not going to last and I much prefer pouring my seed inside you,” he muttered. She lifted her body up to his and he entered her swiftly. He bent his head and captured a pebble-like nipple inside his mouth, his teeth nibbling away at the flesh. Skylar cried out as her body stiffened beneath his.
“Blaine!” she cried out. He lifted his head and looked down at her.
“I'm here baby,” he said soothingly, taking in the brightness of tears in her dark brown eyes. “I'm always here.”
Her fingers dug into his flesh as she gave i
n to the orgasm that had her clinging to him and crying out against his chest. He followed her soon after, his body stiffening and holding her closer to him as he poured everything he had inside her. It seemed as if he couldn't stop as his body shuddered on top of hers. He claimed her lips with his hungrily as he waited for the storm to abate and for their breathing to get back to normal.
He eased out of her and pulled her into his arms, his eyes closing as he put his chin on top of her head.
“Blaine?”
“Hmm?” He didn't have to energy to even open his eyes.
“I think we outdid ourselves this time.”
He chuckled softly. “I really think we did.”
She moved her head and looked up at him. He opened his eyes as he looked at her. “I love you.”
“I love you more,” he whispered. “My love, my life, my heart and my everything.”
