The names Tom Shook and Rominger are taken from road names in Watauga County, North Carolina. I pass them frequently on my way to Boone.

We did lose power during winter storm Diego, but only for a short time. The real challenge was removing all that snow from our driveway and McGuire Mountain Road. Thanks to our neighbor, Richard McGuire, for his tireless efforts, (and his tractor).

“Booze is the Duct Tape of Life” is the title of a song written and performed by Jim Morris.
