Kray (Broken Deeds MC, #6)

“Ten plus!” I squeal and launch myself at Kray who catches me with ease.

“All fun and dandy but can someone explain?” Deeds grumbles.

I put my feet back on the ground—yes, I wrapped them around his waist to hold on tight—and tell him. “Ten plus is what North would call my sister. The other stuff on the note? I have no freaking clue but knowing North just mentioned my sister is exciting.”

“Great,” Deeds sighs. “What if the rest of the note says she’s not with him, huh?”

My heart sinks but Kray growls, “Asshole. The rest is easy to explain too. C3 stands for the location of what safe house he picked and the twelve stands for how long he chose to be there before he makes contact.”

  “So, he’s okay?” Depay questions.

Kray nods. “As far as I know, and what this note tells me, he is. He managed to get her out safe but it’s not safe enough yet. She might still be in danger if North took her to head for one of the safe houses we own and go into hiding. Therefore he picked one of the three cabins only me and him know about. As I said, he’s going to reach out in twelve days. All we can do is wait and trust he will keep her safe.”

“Twelve days,” Deeds mutters. “Does give us time to dive into the situation how he left it. With Blancher showing up at his location and...”

Deeds’ phone rings. He reaches for it and answers while we’re all waiting for him to finish, I can’t help but lean against Kray’s chest and let out a deep breath. Even if she’s not here, just knowing North is with her and taking her somewhere safe is enough to calm my nerves. For now.

Kray puts his gun away and so do I. He cups the back of my neck and places a sweet kiss on my forehead. “No worries, love. He’ll make sure to bring your sister back to you. It’s safe to say the first part is done with him pulling her out of Shade’s claws. And hey, you could totally tell him he failed the deal to bring her back within two days now that he’s demanded the twelve days, huh?”

I smack Kray’s chest in fake horror. “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” I mutter to myself. “And in this moment...I don’t care if they return home from jumping on a plane to Vegas with a tattoo on their faces and rings on their fingers.”

Chuckles flow around the garage but Deeds’ voice rips them apart. “That was Broke. He just informed me about a nine-one-one call that came in near here just now. Two miles from our location. Four bodies who were found in the back of an SUV.”

“Fuck. That’s gotta be related, right?” Depay says.

“Worth to check right fucking now instead of waiting for them to call us in, come on.” Deeds is already leaving the garage but Nash dashes forward and takes a plastic bag out of his pocket.

He scoops up North’s piece of flesh and takes it with him. He notices my stare and he simply shrugs. “Feels weird to leave behind the tracker and North’s DNA along with it.”

I give him an appreciative smile because I didn’t think about it, and he’s absolutely right. “Smart thinking,” I compliment, and follow the rest of the guys to their bikes.

It’s a very short ride to the crime scene and there are already a few cops at the scene, securing the perimeter. Kray hits the kickstand and I’m dashing off toward an agent who looks like he’s in charge.

His hand shoots up as if he’s trying to whisk me away but I’m already shoving my badge in his face. “Special Agent Vienna Lockbaksy, I received a call that might be related to the case I’m working on.”

The officer takes in my badge and glances behind me. I’m sure by the way his eyes bulge he’s staring at the wall of bikers standing behind me but I don’t have time for this.

“They’re with me. If you want, you can call your superior and demand confirmation, whatever, but right now you need to let us near the vehicle,” I snap, losing some of my patience.

The officer nods and steps back. He does however take his phone and I reckon he’s smart enough to check if what I’m saying is true.

“Thanks, Vienna,” Deeds mutters from behind me. “Normally I end up punching a fucker in the face and it takes a while before we can finally do our job.”

This little piece of information makes me snicker. “Glad to be of service.”

The back of the SUV is open and an arm is hanging out. All of us round the SUV and see the bodies piled up inside. I have the faces of all the main players of my case branded on my brain.

“I don’t recognize that one, that one either,” I grumble, pointing at the two faces in plain sight.

Depay accepts gloves from the police officer standing next to us and pulls them on. He gently lifts an arm and a leg to reveal face number three but again, I don’t recognize him. Nash snaps pictures off all three faces before Depay manages to reveal the side of the final head.

“Holy fuck, is that?” Kray whistles in a soft tone behind me. “There’s the fucking reason he didn’t meet with anyone or have his picture taken. I was right with my hunch about the fucker being burned. Bet it happened in his father’s welding company too, years back. Fucking hell, look at the pattern of the burn. Shit. It’s almost the same as the hacker he dismissed, right? Makes me think maybe he made her go through the same thing he went through. But how did the fucker end up dead in this SUV? Doesn’t look like he was killed today, though.”

Deeds is already on the phone, reaching out himself to ensure we get all the details as soon as possible on all of the dead guys in this SUV.

“We’re going to find out,” I mutter. “Because I have a strong feeling something went very wrong, and North got caught in the middle of it all.” I connect my gaze with Kray. “Why else would he take my sister to a safe house? Or did he do this?”

Kray slowly shakes his head. “I have no fucking clue.”

“We’re done here,” Deeds snaps. “We head back to the clubhouse and wait for the report on all of this. I have Chopper and Broke combing down the security feed in the surrounding area to see if they can come up with some images. There’s nothing for us to do here, let’s go.”

Three days later and we’re still as confused as the day we found those four bodies. The papers, photographs, and other details are pinned to a board hanging on the wall in Church. I glance over my shoulder at Nash who’s enthralled by his laptop.

My chest gets stabbed at the reminder of how my sister would be the same way. Exactly the same when we’re on a case; me staring at the board, her staring at her screen. Three days and there are nine days left of the twelve North requested in the little note he left behind. I really need new information, a lead, a damn dead body to flame up this case because we have nothing to go on.

“He’s on the move,” Nash bellows and jumps out of his chair to rush to the doorway and shouts, “Deeds, Broke, Kray, come in here, Blancher is on the move.”

“You’re kidding me, right?” Depay mutters as he strolls inside.

My eyes connect with Kray’s for a breath or two before I pin them right back on Nash’s laptop. The dot slowly moves along the road.

“He’s gotta be in a car,” Nash says and grabs his other laptop. “There, he’s heading for...for his fucking business, look.”

We follow Nash’s finger and it’s clear when the dot stops at the place Nash pointed out, Blancher indeed went home.

“Now I’m sure it was an inside job,” I whisper to myself, making all heads swing my way. I shrug and explain. “Shade’s brother, Beau, was killed. Shade always was hard to find and when we were put on the case Reva dove into their lives and from what she found out Beau was the one who was daddy’s favorite, the one in charge. It’s not easy to kill someone who’s built up something they have and get away with it. And think about it. The dead guys in the SUV along with Shade, and North getting my sister out. I’d say they got their final nudge to kill Shade when North gave them their opening, don’t you think?”

“You’re saying with North handing them Blancher’s details, they decided it was time to kill Shade and take over. Maybe it gave North
the diversion to escape, taking Reva with him while people were too busy killing each other,” Kray muses and rubs his jaw.

  “Explains a lot,” Deeds replies.

“Also explains the reason why Blancher stayed in that place a few days...to get shit back up and running again, new leader and all,” Broke says as he drags a chair back and drops himself on it.

“Are we going to bring him in?” I question.

Deeds snorts, “Bring him in? We’re not cops, woman.”

I cross my arms in front of my chest. “Well, what are we going to do?” Before he can so much as raise a damn eyebrow, I snap, “And don’t give me a ‘club business’ answer either.”

Deeds’ upper lip twitches in an angry snarl. “I don’t see any club patch inked on you, Vienna. Don’t mistake my courtesy to have you in this fucking room for anything other than loyalty toward Kray.”

“Fine,” I snap, angry at him, getting nowhere, and the fact my sister is supposedly saved but these guys all seem to hold the reigns. “I’ll leave you guys to it then.”

“Vienna,” I hear Kray sigh and I turn on my heels to point a finger into his face. “Do. Not. Vienna. Me. I need a damn break and I’m taking it, since it’s all just a courtesy for me to be here and all.”

“Don’t you dare fucking leave the compound,” Kray growls in a low warning tone.

I can’t help but snicker. “Oh, don’t worry, asshole. You hold one twin captive while your brother holds on to the other one. I get it, don’t worry.”

“The both of you need to shut up, and cool the fuck down,” Deeds growls.

I glare at Deeds and slide my gaze to Kray. “Listen to your Prez,” I state and stalk out the door as I bellow, “Lips, I need tequila. Now.”

  Chapter Thirteen

  ***Kray***

“Fucking hell, you know that’s gonna be a pain in my ass, right?” Deeds sighs. “Lips is going to grab my cock and give it more than a squeeze or a rake of her nails over my damn balls.”

I shake my head. “Yeah, but we all knew it was coming.”

I close the door and take a seat across from Broke. Everyone has been on edge the last few days.

“I know she’s also annoyed by the fact I can’t tell her shit about where her sister is. She didn’t ask about the location of the safe house, she doesn’t have to because I can see it in her eyes. It’s something that simmers inside until every frustration and feeling powerless is thrown together and shit blows.” I rub a hand over my face and release a deep sigh.

“It’s a question a lot of folks want to know but the statement ‘safe house’ was invented for a reason. You two have a solid bond set where absolute trust runs deep. For all of us in this room it’s not hard to know you’re dealing with the same shit but you back your brother up. Bottom line is...it’s not safe for them to return, and I hope to fuck he reaches out to you first when the deadline he set runs out. Or if something is up for him to reach out sooner,” Deeds says.

“He will,” I quip. “In these types of situations, we always check first before coming out of hiding completely.”

“Good. If shit is still the same in a few days and he calls, you better tell him to stay put.” Deeds keeps his eyes locked, letting me understand it’s an order I can’t deny.

“Will do, Prez,” I tell him, my gaze sliding to the door Vienna left through.

Deeds groans, “Let her take a breather from this shit, Kray. My Old Lady will be there for her. They will all be there. It’s also something she needs to know. You have your brothers, she has the other Old Ladies to fall back on. Hell, let’s hope she has more than a few drinks to knock her out tonight so she can get some sleep. Every damn night I walked in here to check the board for something to trigger my mind, and I found her standing in front of it. Not good to be this tied to a case, and not to mention it’s her sister who’s involved in all of this. Too much fucking pressure on one person, Kray.”

“Says the one who’s strolling around the clubhouse at the same damn nightly hours,” I mutter to myself before I clear my throat and tell him. “You’re right, she needs to unwind.”

Depay slaps a hand on my shoulder. “She’s strong, man. But we’re all human here.”

  “Yeah,” I sigh.

“Okay, while we’re in here...get the rest of the guys and let’s talk things over ‘cause I ain’t liking the whole thought of Blancher taking over. He needs to be dealt with, and soon.” Deeds takes a seat at the same time Broke heads out to get everyone else in here.

It takes over four damn hours before I stalk into my room. Vienna isn’t there and I could head over to Deeds’ office or his house or go door-to-door to find Vienna but the truth is, Deeds is right; she needs this time with the other women. I take a hot shower and when my head hits the pillow, I crash into a deep sleep.

A few hours later stumbling and Vienna muttering to herself a few times rips me from my sleep. The light in the bathroom comes on and I hear the water of the shower running. Knowing she’s returned to me is enough to make me fall back to sleep.

Sunlight hits my eyes and I slowly become awake. Vienna is draped over my chest and I pull her tighter against me while leaning up and planting a kiss on her spiky hair. She groans and begins to struggle.

“Not so tight or I’m gonna throw up,” she groans.

  I can’t help but chuckle.

“Please don’t laugh, I’m not kidding,” she groans again and it makes me laugh fucking harder, even more when she adds, “You’re so mean.”

I slide my arm up and cup her upper arm but before I can give it a squeeze, she fucking hisses.

“You hurt yourself?” Suddenly I’m wide awake and flash up to inspect her arm.

When I do, I’m at a loss for words. Bright red is staring right at me. The Broken Deeds MC patch is inked on her skin and my name along with it. “Fuck,” I whisper and hover my fingertips over the heated skin.

  “Like?” she shyly asks.

I swallow hard and croak, “Love is more like it.”

These last few days we’ve been working hard and simply crashing for a few hours of sleep whenever we needed to. Clothes were always on so she never knew I got inked the day we got back from discovering those four bodies in the SUV. I rip my shirt over my head and let her see her name in the patch I have inked on the inside of my upper arm.

Suddenly she’s straddling me and has a tight grip on my arm to inspect the ink thoroughly. I let my hand slide up her bare leg, relishing in the feel of her naked body above me.

She shifts her hips and with my cock caged in between our bodies, it’s damn hard not to raise my hips and slide inside her. But she seems to read my mind when she reaches in between our bodies, wraps her delicate fingers around my hard length and slowly impales herself on my cock.

“Fuuuuuuuck,” I grunt and grab her hips to hold her steady while she takes me as deep as she can, grinding her damn hips to have me panting for my next breath.

My nails dig in and the way she leans forward to take my mouth is over way too fast when she tips her head back to moan loud. Though the sight of her naked tits bouncing from sliding off and on my cock, eyes closed, mouth slightly parted...everything about her radiates how she’s consumed with pleasure.

The same damn pleasure she’s building up inside me. I reach out and tweak her nipple. A sexy gasp leaves her mouth before her gaze flashes to mine. Her hands cover mine, bringing them up, palm to palm, and lacing our fingers together so she can place them next to my head while she keeps riding my cock as she takes my mouth too.

Consumed. In every damn way possible and there’s nothing more valuable than two people sharing intimacy in a way where feelings are building strong enough for souls to merge. This has nothing to do with having sex, raw fucking, or getting off. It’s all I’ve ever known till now because for the first damn time in my life I’m making love.

The way we lock eyes allows me to see the reflected feelings crashing through the both of us. I’m unable to hold ba
ck when her pussy starts to convulse around my cock. Pleasure burns hot in my veins as I grunt her name, hearing her voice my name in return.

Bodies slick with sweat, chest against chest while our hearts are beating at each other to intensify this special moment even more. Damn. This woman. Our hands disconnect and I’m able to let my fingers trail up and down her spine, sighing in utter contentment.

“Did it hurt?” I question, touching the red ink on her skin.

“The feeling never bugs me,” Vienna murmurs and nuzzles my chest. “Besides, I had three shots of tequila to warm my belly and all the Old Ladies distracting me. Well, all except one. Good thing Roan organized some sort of sleepover party for all the kids. I didn’t realize how much I needed to have those women around me.”

“They will always be there for you.” I place a kiss on the top of her head and add, “The same goes for Reva, even if she doesn’t end up with North. She’s your sister and seeing you’re my Old Lady, this also places her under my protection, and the club’s.”

Vienna lifts her head and stares at me. “Really?”

My knuckles slide down her cheek. “Really.”

She snuggles back against me and we take our time to enjoy the serenity of this moment. All too soon my phone dings with a message. Vienna groans and lets herself drop down next to me on the mattress while I slide off the bed to reach for my phone.

The message is from an unknown number, though the message is in code. I know exactly who it’s from and what’s needed. I hate to be put in this position but I’m fully aware I have to keep this to myself.

“I need to handle something. Why don’t you sleep off the hangover and I’ll bring you some breakfast in a little bit, okay?” I tell Vienna, place a kiss on her sweet lips and quickly dress.

“Everything okay?” she murmurs, her voice already thick with sleep.

“I’ll be back later.” Is my only reply before I slip out of the room.

I can’t tell her the fucking truth and it damn well pains me. But I also won’t ever lie to her. But to be honest? The fucking question ‘everything okay?’ isn’t simply answered because why the fuck would North be texting me, asking for a damn doctor? A plastic surgeon if we have one available.
